Bartosz Bialkowski

Recommended Posts

I was going to write a piece about how much i rate him and that i wish we could sign him to a 10 year contract but I think just watching this video says everything about his quality and where we would be without him & how much we need to keep him at all costs if we want to become a stable championship club

For me he is the best keeper outside of the premiership & i don't say that flippantly

This is an interesting one tbh. There is no getting away from how goodd Bart has been in the back end of the season. Would Speiss have been as good?

Do we sell now to avoid the same free contract issue that we struggle with?

From what I've heard there has been quite a sizable offer for him but whether or not he would want to move is another thing, again he did apparently rebuff approaches last season as he is settled in Nottingham with his family and basically said that as long as Notts want him he would stay.

Fab is unfortunate in that he is easily a league 1 keeper but he is behind possibly the best keeper in our history which is both good for his development but also bad for his progression.

I don't think we need to ever get to that free contract position as we have already shown our hand in that sense by giving him a 3 year when he signed, he's only 26 (soon to be 27 in July) so for me it would only be right to offer him another 5 years on top of his 1 year left so that we can properly plan for football at a higher level. At the very least we need to get him tied down for another 3 years this summer.

I would definitely sell one (if the price was right).

The money could greatly go towards building a solid squad, if we can hold onto Derry and increase the home attendances. Things might start to get together, if we have low attendances next season. I am afraid I don't see us extending his contract, I think we will start to suffer but I would like to see him tied up for longer. I would have offered Liddle a 3-4 year deal :)

Lets wait and see how accurate the red rag are this time!!!

NOTTS County have received no offers for Bartosz Bialkowski after the goalkeeper reportedly claimed he "is close to a move".

In a question and answer style interview on the Polish football website, Weszlo, the former Southampton goalkeeper says he is hoping to step up to the Championship.

The 26-year-old stops short of naming the team involved but says they are in the top half of the division.

Asked whether he plans to stay at Notts, Bialkowski (pictured) says: "I still have a year contract but I admit I want to go.

"I know that I can afford a better level, a better league.

"A lot is happening around me, I get phone calls from different managers.

"I even had offers from other countries.

"But I want to be in England. I am close to the move.

"The club is from the top half of the Championship."

The Post understands there have been no enquiries for the goalkeeper, who only missed a handful of games last season.

He produced some fine performances towards the back end of the campaign as the club fought off relegation and is widely regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in League One.

The Post understands the club do have contingency plans in place should he leave.

Notts have already been linked with a move for Scott Loach, the former Ipswich goalkeeper, who was released by the Tractor Boys at the end of the season.

Loach, who won a full call-up to the England squad, was born in Nottingham but it was at Lincoln City where he made his name and eventually sealed a move to Championship side Watford.

Meanwhile, Gary Liddle's decision to quit Notts County after two seasons is understood to have been made on family grounds.

The midfielder announced this week he will leave the club after two years.

It is understood Liddle's partner is due to give birth in six weeks' time and the former Hartlepool man is keen to remain close to home in the north east.

Interesting. At least we'd get a transfer fee. Speiss would be number 1 which I can live with. Scott Loach would be a handy backup, nothing more.

I've always rated Loach, but if Bart was to go I would want to see Speiss in as number one for a good run of games because he has waited so long for it!!!

Typical Nottingham post, the Scott Loach signing is hardly breaking news, like it wasn't when it was announced on MAD last week which it seems is where the post go to great lengths of investigative journalism to find out so called 'breaking news', just ask @notts-joe how long he has known about this, that particular signing is on the basis of other movement at meadow lane.

If & when that does happen it will certainly be interesting to see what happens on the who will get the number one jersey as I can't see Scott Loach wanting to come to sit on the bench nor can I see Fab wanting to sit on the bench much longer either.

Indeed, it's not just the post but other sources and it's bemusing to be openly honest.

After being given a tip regarding this , I actually asked Shaun Derry at the Youth Player of the Season Awards and he seemed very uneasy to answer the question but he did say earlier in the night that he had signed a 'Nottingham' lad on the back of several trials with local teams. This prompted me to ask, however I didn't expect a yes and I would never share rumour of that nature publicly.

I learned my lesson by breaking the Sol Campbell news.

Scott Loach would be a fantastic signing, yet I would not see him settling for being no2. He would want to play regularly and at this level, perhaps we could afford to sell Fabs - That's if any offers was decent enough.

Why all the tension towards a quality player wanting to move on?

Its his choice if he wants to move on, the club can only try to talk him around or sell the player. I have the mindset that if he was not able to move on, he would still put in his performances. I would prefer us to keep him and sell spiess, who no doubt would attract a much better offer due to his age and prospect. Its now the club need to get the players behind them and together we can progress further, I just fear that short term deals will only make players want to leave. If the rumours are true regarding 1 year deals, I would want to move on if I was our keeper.

It's nice to note that it's not the same here.

I have read on Facebook and other places, the comments are amusing because nobody knows if he actually said it or not. The club deny that there's been interest, so unless a clubs trying to tap him up. I take very little truth in the NEP/This is Nottingham.
