Derry & Spiess

Why do you think Shaun Derry relies on Pilks so much? If you listen to the rumour mil he's supposed to be out on loan again. Yet, it seems the young shot stop isn't rated anymore.

Personally I think we should have cashes in.

That said, I do dream of him being our no1. and I hope that Derry and Carroll can get the best out of him. It's all a question of mentality for him, we know he has the attributes.

Is there more than meets the eye here?

I think we will keep Roy for next season, and Speiss will continue to be out on loan... It will be a testament to the lad if he forces SD to go one way or the other....

Shame for the lad as he has possibly missed the boat now. Maybe more regular game time will get him back, but I fear he will slip into the abyss. Maybe the cash should have been taken while it was being bandied around? Difficult one as you might be accused of money making rather than having the clubs footballing interests at heart. People will always argue both sides and think they're right!!!

Whatever is best for the club and for him as a player.

He looks a good prospect but lack of confidence and faith in his own ability seems to knock him back. I watched him pre season and he did not look like goalkeeper, he reminded me of when a player who can cover goes in goal after a player is sent off. If he could get his game together and quickly, he will have a chance of making the most of his career here.

pilks is just able to step in if needed, its only to allow super fabs game time.

i dont think derry sees him as a weak leak more of a player he wants to see progress further and i for one think he will be pushing more closely next season.

He should fight, there's plenty of time to learn still.

Would you cash in? seems ideal if the money is right.

Spiess is a great lad and very talented.

It seems that we have good players who we never allow or see reach their full potential, I also think its perhaps best time he moves on before his career is stunned or ruined for the longer term of his playing time. He needs to be starting regularly and I am in the mind that Derry or whoever comes in will always opt for experience over inexperience or starting to get to that standard.
