Discipline

How bad is it?

Noble is a complete moron who gets a yellow card for arguing, only to continue arguing and get sent off.

Carroll was lucky not to be sent off for the exact same thing, and the one who is supposed to be setting an example, the manager, also lucky not to be sent to the stands.

The management and the players he's recruited are turning our club into a farce! That's without mentioning performances!!

Discipline is a big issue for the club imo. The result today was no real surprise to anyone if they're being honest. The big thing is the lack of control shown from the top downwards.

I genuinely believe with Paddy and JCR now joined by LL we have a team to build around for the rest of the season. We will get results to stay up...If the squad and management can knuckle down, keep their mouths shut and put in the hard graft to correct the issues.

Every day they train. Surely it's not difficult to pull in a few and have serious words. Then again maybe somebody needs a serious word with SD and GA as well as surely they need to set the example. Everyone understands the passionate new manager, but it is his RESPONSIBILITY to set the example!

Sort in Notts and I have faith.

Don't and it will hamper an already difficult season. Noble is gone for the long haul now. Not going to help is it SD?

Noble's been sent off again? So much for learning but to be fair we have to accept its apart of his game, provided he works at it and he tries again.

The sad thing is it will end up limiting him as a player.

Getting sent off by getting 2 yellows in 1 minute for shouting in the refs face is not part of anyones game.

If it is, they are not a footballer.

How long is his contract? If it's 1 year, get rid of him. Totally unprofessional and a complete liability.

Noble's record is disgraceful - he has history too! Carroll is another loose cannon but the manager has no self control or discipline either.

Sorry to say it but I've had enough of Derry - totally out of his depth in virtually every aspect of management. Blaming the ref today is beyond credibility.

I'm still going to get behind the players and Derry, I can respect people want him out but for me he still warrants time. I can't turn my back on the hopes of stability, he has more chance of it working because he knows the squad, rather than a new guy experimenting.

It would be interesting to see how many want him out and how many doesn't.

After three red cards in probably less than 30 games, the very least Noble should be getting is a week's fine. He's a disgrace. But even if SD and GA were inclined to punish him, they don't really have any moral authority with their antics. If they want to demand more of their players, they need to improve their own behaviour too.

I have been saying for a long time that the discipline issue should be sorted and as others have said it starts from the top I sit behind the dugout at home matches and SD's behaviour is embarrassing at times, Noble and Carroll are the worst offenders, how can Carroll (a goalkeeper) be booked 10 times? He's an experienced player, he should be ashamed at his behaviour.

I don't think Derry should be sacked and I will support him but I wish he would sort out the discipline issue.

it would help if we was organized because for me thats the biggest problem. it leads to the matters where our players are punished because we seem disjointed esp compared to the start of the season.

everyone at the start seemed to know what their duties were, unlike now.

I will wait for this to clear over and once he has notched in a few goals all will be forgiven, its football. At the game I felt very angered that he was daft enough to argue after being yellow carded but on the drive home I thought about the better things he has done for us. Hes a good player, who needs help and we all deserve that at times.

Some of the overreactions I have read are amusing.

I see that Colin Slater has suggested he be sent to anger management classes by the club, that sounds a good idea to me.

Have to say, it seems like someone had a word with Derry.

He was calm & composed yesterday and he didn't spend the entire game arguing the toss with the officials. I don't think that was accidental. It is certainly a good sign imo.

He will be in serious trouble if he gets sent to the stands again this season, that's for sure.

If SD gets angry and agitated surely his mood will transfer to some players during a game.If he sets an example and remains calm, composed and concentrated this should also transfer to the players.Glad to see he seems to have changed his attitude.

Yes he did seem a little more calm, in fact at one point he pulled Greg Abbot away from the linesman when he was giving him an earful.

Hopefully this new attitude will transfer to the players.

Did anyone else see Ray Trew in the stands with a tranquiliser dart?
