Family Club?

What does being a family club mean? Does anyone else see this being our best recruiting system?

I personally feel quite proud that we have a strong family 'feel' to Meadow Lane and Notts, I know the majority of clubs also respect this because it really is imprinted into the Black & White way of life but some feel it's just a 'gimmick', which I completely disagree with because without being 'family friendly', we would have fewer younger fans and for me this is our best recruiting system.

The club offered free season tickets to certain age groups and the u16's pretty much paid for themselves if you consider the free programme each home game.

i agree, we have strong morals towards being a family club and even seen within the local community. notts are a lot more focused on this, which is what attracted me towards supporting notts myself.

its nice to see the younger fans enjoying visiting the club, its good for nottingham too.

i just wished some of our foul mouthed fans would keep quiet because it makes me mad when they cannot control themselves, esp around young children!

Yes we are a family club and long may it continue I enjoy taking my Grandson down to the match and I am hoping he will follow on the tradition of supporting Notts for many years.

I agree with Liam though that it is a shame that some fans can't control their language in front of kids, for this reason I would not take George into the kop stand.

When I was younger it was a unwritten law that we didn't swear in front of kids or women, unfortunately those days are long gone.

The family stand is far far worse for foul language and disgusting behaviour, it's made worse by the "stewards" not ever challenging this behaviour, I left the game early when I took my kids in their and I know of a lot of people who have done the same.

I went in the kop for the Coventry game with my boy (he's only 4) and I can honestly say you would have thought it was the family stand, everyone around us made a point of not using foul language which was massively appreciated.

The club are brilliant at being family orientated, everyone the wife spoke to about the day with the young lads signing his shirt and a picture with our boy etc said they couldn't believe the club do what they do and the clubs there husbands / kids support wouldn't do it.

The best bit of the whole day was he didn't stop singing the songs until he fell asleep to the delight of his mum who said it's bad enough listening to me!!!

Well I've renewed mine and the two children's season tickets this morning so I hope the family feel does continue. (Although we do sit in the Pavis to get a better view! Then again the view hasn't been great this season and it has been easier when Ben has said he's not well for me to decide on doing something else!)

I'm really surprised to hear you say that, when I look over at the family stand from my seat in the DP stand it always seems pretty empty, I would have thought the foul mouthed brigade would prefer the kop where they can mingle in with the crowd.

You'd be surprised how many attention seekers sit in the Family Stand, there always the ones who are about as funny as a crack in a glass eye.

We were sat pretty much slap bang in the middle of the Kop just to the right of the goal (if looking from the kop), definitely going there all the time now.

You should have warned us you were down today. We would have rolled out the welcoming committee and had a few drinks in the mlsb. I'm sure @PTID1862 would have paid!

Ha Ha, yeah yeah those Northerners are tighter than a camels ass hole in a sand storm.....

No I was at the Easter Monday against Coventry. If everything goes ok for me this week then I'll be going to the Gillingham game with my lad, just got to find an orange wig for us both in homage to Ricardo.
