Swindon Town have won all but one of their last six games in League One, the only game which saw them defeated was against MK Dons. The final score 2-1, however they have beaten Peterborough, Bristol City, Preston and Chesterfield within recent games.

Back on Saturday the 8th of November, Swindon made a shock exit in the first round of the F.A Cup by the hands of Cheltenham Town, 5-0 was the final score.

Within League One Swindon Town currently sit 2nd, they have scored 9 times in their last six games conceding only three times. In the JPT and F.A Cup, the Robins have scored only twice, allowing 8 goals in.

	The Players – Fact Sheet

Highest Goal Scorers; Micheal Smith 12, Andy Williams 10, Jonathan Obika 7 and Yaser Kasim 3.

Persistent Foulers; Nathan Thompson 3 Red Cards and 5 Yellow Cards, Louis Thompson 1 Red Card and 4 Yellow Cards, Yaser Kasim 6 Yellow Cards and Jack Stephens 4 Yellow Cards.

	The Key Players.

Jonathan Obika, Michael Smith and Andy Williams are Swindon Town's robust front line. Massimo Luongo, Yasir Kasim and Louis Thompson are the key men in midfield, whilst Wes Foderingham is a stand out goal keeper within this league.

Jonathan Obika is a player who creates a lot, whilst also proving he can finish chances himself. The former Tottenham Hotspur youngster forged a name within League One and he will be one to watch.

Michael Smith and Andy Williams are traditional marksman, who can cause any side danger as their goal tally's suggest.

Massimo Luongo is Swindon Town's rock within the midfield, he pulls the strings and can pin point pass to advancing wide men. Yasir Kasim is a tricky player to retain, his movement generally causes opponents problems.

Style of Play, Strengths, and Weaknesses.

Swindon Town have a reputation for being a passing side which can quickly turn carefully created attacks into dangerous chances. They play direct, focusing on advancing wide men but with the ability to break sides down quite easily from the centre of the park. They can fire chances from distance, while their forwards can be menacing within their oppositions penalty box.

Many of their key chances come from bursting runs, where supporting players manage to find space. If their attacks split defences, which is often the case they go for direct shots towards goal and are not afraid to have a shot.

Their main strengths are skill, pace and spotting how to break down opponents. Whilst proving that they're lethal on goal sight, Swindon Town do often waste very decent chances but again they have the ability to create them without a problem.

Weaknesses are mainly within their disciplinary records, several players are prone to making bad decisions and becoming heated as a direct result. Defensively they're very well setup, however if pressed their defence are prone to stray and do poor passes which can easily be picked up. With their age being considerably young, they're quite inconsistent on the field but can still finish sides off with a touch of class.

Swindon Town appear to struggle with tall or fast players, this results in rash and silly changes. Cheltenham Town realized this, which caused the Robins defence to panic time and time again.

If the game doesn't sway in their favour, concentration tends to drop which can allow decent teams to punish them.

Saturdays game for the Youth Team provided them with the opportunity to carry on the recent good form which saw them not only beat the league leaders (Hull Tigers) but move within 3 points of them in the league after the midweek win against Grimsby.

In keeping with our current Doncaster Rovers vs Notts County news line the youth team were unfortunately beaten 3-1.

Colby Bishop providing the solitary strike in the first half equalising the Doncaster opener. With the scores level at half time we started the second half brightly yet Doncaster who came into the game more and more as the half progressed took the lead and then added a third to run out comfortable winners.

	The Players – Fact Sheet

Highest Goal Scorers; Nathan Tyson 6, Theo Robinson 4, James Coppinger 4 and Curtis Main 4.

Persistent Foulers; Harry Forrester 2 Red Cards and 4 Yellow Cards, Paul Keegan 4 Yellow Cards, Kyle Bennett 4 Yellow Cards and Reece Wabara.

	The Key Players.

Andy Butler, Paul Keegan, Marc De Val, Kyle Bennett, James Coppinger, Harry Forrester and Nathan Tyson.

Nathan Tyson the former Notts loanee has found himself consistently starting for Doncaster Rovers, he is a tricky player who uses his pace to his advantage and score when presented a golden opportunity.

Paul Keegan, Marc De Val, Kyle Bennett and James Coppinger are Doncaster Rovers creative midfield, who are all able of creating play and scoring. Spanish born Marc De Val hasn't yet scored, however he's came close to scoring some spectacular efforts.

Andy Butler is a solid defender who will be Doncaster's main defensive threat to us, this was highlighted by Walsall fans who stated earlier in our home game this season that he was the missing link within the current Saddlers squad.

Harry Forrester is a promising striker who Notts fans should be aware of from his time playing for Brentford, although his goal scoring record is hardly impressive – the football he shows on the field can be.

Style of Play, Strengths, and Weaknesses.

Doncaster are a direct, physical side who like to use their players with pace in order to gain space for chances. Typically they're not afraid to take chances from outside of the box or from distance, yet when on the flanks they mix low balls with floating crosses which causes confusion for the opposition defences.

They don't fail to create chances, with their creative players being able to mix how the Vikings attack their opponents.

Their main strengths come from break down play, players cleverly move in order to create space which they use to exploit. Smaller teams are often frustrated by the height of the Doncaster players, which is another added strength.

Doncaster are more offensive than defensive, their attacking players will be a threat to any side within League One and all must be marked duly.

With regards to weaknesses it appears Paul Dickov side scramble defensively and are prone to error when hit directly via the centre of the park, either with pace or flowing passes which gain forward ground. Teams have to be wary when they pack players into their own penalty area, as limited space is often given to opposition teams.

Notts might be presented with more chances from outside of the penalty box rather than inside, so players like Thompson, Jones and Noble will be useful.

Saturdays game for the Youth Team provided them with their first opportunity to right a few wrongs from the disappointment of the FA Cup tie against Peterborough.

The team standing between them and what would be the perfect remedy were the league leaders Hull Tigers, who earlier on in the season, had comfortably beaten us 3-0.

Hull Tigers started the game brightly, despite this they couldn't make their dominance count and after starting to force our way into the game we took the lead through Luther Wildin, Hull maintained their attacking threat throughout the game but yet again they couldn't turn this dominance into a goal and we scored a decisive second through Lartey Sarpong and went on to record a fantastic win by a 2-0 scoreline.

Mick Halsall was full of praise for the lads saying "from a 3-0 home defeat against them at the start of the campaign, to a 2-0 away win is very pleasing"

The lads recorded another victory on Wednesday afternoon against Grimsby Town game at the Eagle Valley Stadium with a 2-0 win coming courtesy of goals from Reece Fyfe & Colby Bishop, Mick Halsall described the game "as probably the best we have played all season".

This has put the Youth Team second in the division only 3 points behind Hull, the next fixture is against Doncaster Rovers away this Saturday.

There has been good news for the whole club but the Academy directly with the news that striker Colby Bishop has signed his first professional contract, signing a 2½ year contract, he will for this season play his football with the youth team linking up with the senior squad for the start of the 2015 - 2016 season.

There has been a recent string of Academy players joining the senior squad, whilst some might fall away, some like Hadyn Hollis & Curtis Thompson go from strength to strength which is the best possible advertisement for our Academy system when potential targets are contemplating which Academy to join.

Yeovil Town come into the game only having scored two goals in their last six games, a run of 4 defeats and two draws shows the lack of form by last years Championship struggler’s. However, they cannot be written off because of this as fortunes frequently change.

On the 8th of November Yeovil beat Crawley Town in the F.A Cup at home by one goal to nil. The last time they won in the league was back in September against Peterborough.

League wise The Glovers haven't scored since the 18th of October and the last time they scored more than just one goal was back on the 6th of September, they beat Bradford 3-1 away from home.

	The Players – Fact Sheet

Highest Goal Scorers; James Hayter 2, Kieffer Moore 2, Joel Grant 1 and Simon Gillett 1.

Persistent Foulers; Ben Nugent 1 Red Card and 5 Yellow Cards, Kevin Dawson 4 Yellow Cards and Ofori-Twumasi 1 Red Card.

	The Key Players.

Brendan Moloney, Kevin Dawson, Sam Foley and Joel Grant.

The former Notts loanee Brendan Moloney will be a key player for Yeovil both defending and attacking, whilst on their day Kevin Dawson, Sam Foley and Joel Grant can all cause headaches for their opposition counterparts.

Joel Grant is particularly good at pulling the strings and getting involved in attacking play.

Sam Foley is a player Notts will need to be aware of as he can allude attention and quickly find space to pose a threat to any defence, he also has an eye for goal.

Notts will be best falling back to the typical 4-4-2 formation or 3-5-2 with at least two of the midfielders providing cover at the back. This will counter measure Yeovil and prevent them from breaking freely, Haydn Hollis and whoever partners him must be aware of the threat of pace, whilst also being sure to deal with the task from crosses.

Style of Play, Strengths, and Weaknesses.

Quick, direct and rely heavily on the spaces created on the flanks. Yeovil Town like to drill or float crosses into the penalty area where they are a threat. Many of the chances that have been created in previous games have come from set pieces or crosses, whilst the direct dynamic play allows them to attack with speed.

Their ability to get crosses in towards tall players is their main strength.

Yet Yeovil Town can break down sides with their smooth, possession passing which when watching would leave you questioning as to why they're bottom of the League One table.

They generally zonal mark teams, packing multiple players onto a single player which leaves them open and disorganized at the back. When hit with pace themselves, Yeovil drop off creating space in front which limits chances for opposition sides, yet presents chances whereby crosses or long distance efforts leave their players rooted.

Their lack of clinical finishing, sees good chances often wasted.

Yeovil are particularly weak themselves when dealing with set pieces and crosses, if the balls are direct enough players committed to runs will get into them.

The F.A Cup is a major opportunity lost by exiting in the first round. It's the perfect opportunity to spread a little cheer among the fan base, gather results and of course add money to the coffers. All things which Notts County could all do with in abundance.

Everybody always looks forward to the trips away, whilst the possibility of gracing a top tier team at Meadow lane – but is all really lost? I don't believe it is.

Notts currently sit 4th within the 2014/2015 League One campaign, it's only just past mid November and after last season exiting the F.A Cup doesn't seem all that bad at all.

We've all wanted a squad that plays for the shirt, that extra pride which the players put in goes along way and it's part of the reason why we are currently doing so well within the league. Don't get me wrong, I am disappointed but in comparison we have a bigger picture to face.

On Saturday Notts get back to League One football, a win at Meadow Lane would be the perfect way to respond to struggling Yeovil Town.

If we won, we could perhaps move to 3rd depending on how Preston do against Bristol City.

We still have a game in hand over both Preston and Swindon, it might also allow us to gain space over Sheffield United who have played exactly the same amount of games as us at 16 and we share the same amount of points, 29.

Sheffield United face Oldham on the 22nd of November 2014, neither side are really scoring or winning by many goals and I see this ending as a draw but perhaps Oldham could do us a favour?

Our very next game after Yeovil Town is actually Sheffield United, there's no better time to be playing them.

Our current form is actually very impressive, the odd blip here and there but the squad are battling.

You would certainly call this progress compared to last season right? It's for this reason why I have put aside my disappointment and decided to remain optimistic.

I wrote a blog before things started to click that I felt Notts were on the verge of something special, I really feel that this could be the season whereby we make the play-offs and dare I say it gain promotion? Don't we all dream of this? Time is now to try and make that difference.

We have a tough run of fixtures – Sheffield United (a), Swindon (h), Rochdale (a), MK Dons (H) and Bradford (a).

It doesn't get any easier at the very start of the new year, however I feel we can get some very respectable results. In the row of five games, I would hope we could at least take 9 to 11 points. It might be more like 7, yet I believe we can win more than two of the five.

No matter what you feel, let's focus on seeing where we are come the end of December.

Let's get straight back behind the lads, fill the stands on Saturday with encourage and just have a crack at this the right way.

The only way, the BLACK & WHITE WAY! YOU PIES!!

Saturday 22th of November, Notts County return to Meadow Lane against Yeovil Town. Notts are currently the inform team, however the squad will have to put the F.A Cup exit by Accrington to the back of their minds and focus on progressing further in League One.

Yeovil Town haven't won in their last 6 games, yet it will not be plain sailing for the mighty magpies. Fortunes frequently change, so Notts will have to be on guard.

The last week has proved to be a disappointing one for the young lads of the youth team, firstly they were knocked out of the FA Cup by Peterborough 2-0 with a lackluster performance, then just as they thought they could put that performance behind them with a quick return in the league last Saturday against Mansfield Town the game was called off.

	FA Cup Report

	Peterborough 2 - 0 Notts County

Peterborough ran out comfortable winners, in truth it could and should have been a lot worse save for the performance of the two central defenders Thomas Rigby & Keenan Layton who did their utmost to repel the near constant pressure and attacking threat shown by Peterborough with both drawing constant praise from the Premiership scouts in attendance.

Our midfield department was not at it's best but our lack of pace, mobility & tactical awareness in the holding role allowed Peterborough's midfield far too much room which caused our central defenders problems all game. It was testament to the strong performance of the central defence that Monty Parkes in goal didn't have too much to do, what he did have to do he did very well apart from their second goal where he was caught flat footed, he had no chance with the first goal as the Peterborough No 9 Jonathon Edwards calmly finished into the bottom corner.

Aside from a brief 15 minute spell at the start of the second half where our right back Jordon Richards hit the post with a well struck shot from 25 yards out, the entirety of the game was played out around our own 18 yard line.

Colby Bishop had no chance to affect the game as he was dropping deeper & deeper into midfield to try and get the ball, when we did get the ball up to him it was usually through a long clearance which gave him little chance to control the ball, when he did flick the ball on there was no-one there to get on the ball.

All in all it was a disappointing way to go out of the FA Cup.

Pride of Nottingham returns with it's 'On The Table' feature, each fortnight we will focus on how the League One table has changed, which teams have made the most movement and their results. We have witnessed some jumps, as we ourselves move up to 4th after defeating Coventry.

However, Bristol City firmly remained glued to the top of the division but other teams around have fallen and risen. Let's see how they compare to where they previously stood!

As mentioned Bristol City stand tall at the very top, with 17 games played they have 36 points yet they lost 1-0 away to Swindon Town on the 15th of November.

With Swindon's win to the League One leaders, Swindon have moved from 3rd to 2nd place, as Preston North End drop back inside the play-offs. Preston lost 2-1 at home to Bradford City, a Joe Garner equalizer was cancelled out a minute after Bradford's Mark Yeates scored in the 86' minute.

Notts County enjoyed a narrow 1-0 win over Coventry City to move up to 4th.

Sheffield United once again moved back within the play-offs, they jumped up from 8th to 5th after beating Doncaster Rovers 1-0 away from home.

MK Don's drop from 4th to 6th after their game against Scunthorpe United was postponed. Peterborough United remain 7th, they haven't moved despite drawing 0-0 to Walsall at the Bescot Stadium.

Rochdale also drop down by 3 places, they move from 5th to 8th after losing 1-0 away to Port Vale. Oldham remain 9th, they also haven't moved after drawing 1-1 to Crawley. Whilst Fleetwood Town have also remained at 10th despite defeating League One struggler’s Yeovil 1-0 away from home.

Barnsley enjoyed a 3-2 goal rush against Colchester at home, they also remain in the same position and stand respectfully at 11th.

Port Vale move up from 13th to 12th, whilst Bradford City also move up a single place from 14th to 13th. Chesterfield drop from 12th to 14th after drawing 0-0 away from home to Crewe Alexandra. Crawley remain at 15th, they drew to Oldham 0-0.

Walsall remain 16th, whilst Doncaster Rovers also remain 17th and Colchester United are also unmoved, they sit at 18th. Gillingham jumped from 22nd to 19th after defeating Leyton Orient 3-2 at home. Leyton Orient scored a penalty in the 48' minute, only to see a double strike by Leon Legge first on the 55' minute and then on the 74' minute. Chris Dagnal equalized for Orient around the 90' minute mark only to see his goal cancelled by Cody McDonald.

Coventry drop one place from 19th to 20th, just one place away from the relegation zone. Due to the defeat at the hands of Gillingham, Leyton Orient drop down from 20th to 21st.

Scunthorpe United also move a place down from 21st to 22nd however their game against Play-Off contenders MK Dons was postponed. Crewe who was glued to the bottom of the division for considerable amount of time have seen their form turn around, some big wins have seen them move from 24th to 23rd and on the 15th of November they drew at home to Chesterfield 0-0.

Yeovil who lived the dream of playing in the Championship last season, are pinned to the bottom of the League One table. Their 1-0 defeat to Fleetwood signals a change in fortune for the once former regular mid table side.

Yesterday Notts fans both across the world and at the Ricoh Arena where surprised to see the addition of Roy Carroll to the starting line up. He achieved the unexpected by making his way to the stadium in time to pass a fitness test and to report to the management team.

He had featured in Northern Ireland's 2-0 defeat to the hands Romania on the 14th,, however not put off or wanting time to relax. Roy proceeded to make his way to Coventry in time to be selected.

The 37 year old, managed to get all the way to Coventry in time to replace Fabian Spiess who was expected to start.

Roy Carroll the replacement for Bartosz Bialkowski, caught a flight from Romania to London's Heathrow Airport at 7am. The veteran keeper than collected his car, drove up the motorway to the Ricoh Arena and reported to the Notts County coaches and manager Shaun Derry declaring himself fit to play.

Notts chairman Ray Trew praised the dedication of Roy Carroll by saying, “Shaun Derry spoke of his desire to get the right sorts of player in this season and I think what Roy has done for this club today shows exactly what the Manager meant.”

Ray told the official site “These guys have put their bodies on the line and challenged for every ball in every match this season and we have reaped the rewards, so whilst I would like to praise every player who took to the field this afternoon, I have to reserve special praise for Roy because I know what it meant to me, but more so I know what it meant to our supporters and he has my heartfelt thanks for what he has done”.

At 37, it's quite the achievement to feature internationally for any nation which speaks alone. However, to play two games in two days it says a lot about the desire and dedication to feature as part of the cause to the side he's quickly emerging as the “signing of the season”.

Notts secured victory over Coventry when Garry Thompson netted the winner and only goal in the 72' minute – Full Match Report Here.

Ahead of our new weekly update on how the potential future of Notts County is progressing we are going to have a recap on how the season has started so far.

The youth team play their matches within the Football League Youth Alliance U18 North East division, the league consists of the following 13 teams.

Bradford City - Burton Albion - Chesterfield - Doncaster Rovers - Grimsby Town - Hartlepool United - Hull City - Lincoln City - Mansfield Town - Notts County - Rotherham United - Scunthorpe United - York City.

We currently sit in 5th place in the league with 14 points from 9 games, a link to the full league table can be found here

There are two separate cup competitions, one being the Football League Youth Alliance Cup, the other being the FA Youth Cup. Unfortunately we were knocked out in the first round of the Youth Alliance Cup on penalties 8-7 to Burton Albion after the game finished 1-1.

We have been drawn against Peterborough United in the first round of the FA Youth Cup with this game being played tonight 12/11/2014 at London Road, details of this can be found here along with Head of Academy Coaching Mick Halsall's thoughts on the game.

The latest Youth Alliance league game was played at the Eagle Valley stadium on Saturday the 8th November, we came out on top of the five goal thriller with a 3-2 victory against Bradford City, Ben Browne opened the scoring for us with Bradford City replying shortly afterwards, highly rated striker Colby Bishop soon put us back in front from the penalty spot, once again though Bradford city equalised just before the interval, we won the game in the second half through Rhys Myers who scored with a powerful header from a set piece straight from the training pitch.

Mick Halsall commented on the performance saying "Bradford City are one of the leagues better sides, but we competed well against the physical unit and earnt an important win, the lads attitude and desire to work shone through. They always give 100%"

Next up for lads in the league is Mansfield away on the 15th November, once again we are in action tonight against Peterborough United in the FA Youth Cup at London Road with a 7pm kick off, ticket details can be found here.

Notts County fan Jon Marshall is visiting Kenya as part of the Nasio Trust, which helps change lives over in the African nation – A motto which the trust uses is “Changing Lives for the Good”.

The Nasio Trust is a registered charity based in the UK and Kenya, it derives inspiration and values from the Christian faith which envisage a world where all children and young people are treated with love, and grow up to live self-reliant, healthy and fulfilling lives. Many of the children in Kenya are HIV orphans.

This is in fact Jon's 4th visit to Kenya to an area called Mumias in Westen Kenya.

He volunteers for the charity called Nasio Trust which helps children with HIV, via their scheme “Nasio G force” alongside aides from the United Kingdom.

“This year we are constucting a medical centre, on arrival we had a field and a piece of paper. We had to design the medical centre based on government guide lines, locate materials, and put together a workforce” He said.

“We handover on saturday to a local project manager after negotiating a price for the project. This is our 4th visit in which we have built two kitchens at different schools, dining rooms, etc. I sponsor a child named Dancan, my sponsorship covers his schooling cost.” He added. “When I come to kenya I do a home visit to his Mud Hut. He lives with his mum. His father has died. Most kenyans love football, they like english teams best. Whilst I have been out here I have told locals about Notts, given out some of my old shirts. I taught a massi warrior how to do the Hughsey”.

As you can from the pictures importants of projects such as this and it a good thing, we all know a fan of Notts County who does great work with charities and in fact Pride of Nottingham knows a lot.

Jon also added, “There are now more and more Notts Shirts in this region!!! I hope it helps them, the work we do is vital to helping bring change".

Pride of Nottingham salutes Jon Marhsall, this is brilliant work and dedication shown. The helpers of the Nasio Trust should be very proud of their efforts, as should Jon. Keep up the good work and continue to show them the spirit of the club.

On loan winger Stephen McLaughlin is set to return to parent club Nottingham Forest, unless an extention can be agreed between Shaun Derry and Stuart Pearce for the services of the 24 year old Irish born player.

He featured in his last game yesterday for the magpies, in a narrow 1-0 away win over Scunthorpe United which saw Notts County move to 3rd within the league.

Notts have largely benefited from the arrival of Stephen McLaughlin who made an instant impact upon making his debut for the club and with the relations between Notts County and Nottingham Forest in talks, it is not completly out of the question to see some form of agreement reached.

Nottingham Forest team mate Louis Laing has already extended his emergency deal for the duration of an additional 3 months.

Stephen McLaughlin's appeared 5 times for Notts, 4 times within the league and once within the Johnstone's Paint Throphy.

He's scored once against Scunthorpe United in the Johnstone's Paint Throphy, provided 4 assists within the league. Whilst being yellow carded once in the 89th minute in the 2-3 comeback win against Barnsley FC.

Reaching a total of 360' game time within league one and 90' minutes within the Johnstone's Paint Throphy.

In terms of overall performance in the English leagues, his personal best is actually whilst at Notts County. At Bristol City he only made 1 assist in 7 games and at Nottingham Forest it is 2 assists in 8 games.

Would you like to see Stephen McLaughlin remain at Notts or should he return to his parent club Nottingham Forest.

Pride of Nottingham is asking this very question, let us know your views.

When I found out that Basford United Football Club would be hosting an exhibition clash between some of the greatest names to have played for Nottingham Forest and Notts County in recent years, in order to raise money for Cancer Research UK, I cleared all my plans on Sunday October 12 and made a date for Greenwich Avenue. The chance to see some classic players, the chance to renew a local rivalry that is becoming staler by the day, and best of all, raise some money for a good cause? Sign me up for Destination Basford!

Come the day, I thought to myself that if I left at around 12:15pm I could get there in about half an hour, and because the route appeared pretty straightforward on Google Maps, I decided against bringing a satnav or even a map.

So, it’s 1:30pm, and after having driven into Bulwell, Aspley and possibly Arnold, and of course having had Notts Joe be the Kit to my David Hasselhoff and guide me by phone – with mixed results – I parked up by this pub called The Mill, which happened to be close enough to BUFC’s ground that NJ could come and pick me up! Note to self – make sure you know in future how to actually get to a destination instead of somewhere in the vicinity before hoping for the best!

So anyway, once parked up at the ground, a quick chip cob to replenish the hunger built up by over an hour of useless driving, and we were on our way. We spent the following half hour or so taking pictures of the ground, the pitch, the fans and the players, who were warming up on the pitch.

It mattered little that I arrived with little time to spare, because kickoff ended up being delayed by about 25 minutes. The honest assessment of the announcer: “We’re still waiting for some players to show up!” Clearly I’m not the only one who failed to pack a satnav.

Eventually, it was time for business, and once both teams were fully on the pitch, including the likes of Jason Lee, Mark Stallard and Nigel Jemson, the referee kicked off the game.

The match began in a somewhat cagey manner, with the Magpies on the front foot, getting several chances in early on against Forest Legends keeper Darren Heyes, which is just as well because his Notts counterpart didn’t have any gloves at this stage. Attempts were made to lend him a pair of gardening gloves and some marigolds, before eventually deciding on a pair of motorcycle gloves.

It wasn’t long before the Magpies broke the deadlock, but Forest countered in spectacular fashion, a 30-yard howitzer bursting the Notts net just a minute later. Little matter, because Chris Freestone struck midway through the first half to give us the lead again, with another goal being added before half time. At the break, it was Forest 1 – 3 Notts.

The second half then became a bit of a free-for-all, as goals kept flying in every which way, to the point that Notts were leading 6-2. When I say a free-for-all, I’m not referring just to goals, but also to the amount of players on the pitch, as Notts saw two men sent off, while the Reds had 12 men on the pitch at one point!

With the odds ever so slightly weighed in Forest’s favour, they were able to come back to within a goal of Notts, but some stout defending by the Black and Whites right at the death proved enough to end the match with an impressive 6-5 win!

Once the match was over - and bragging rights were secured - the PoN Squad then proceeded to interview a myriad of people at the ground, including ex-players Jason Lee and Mark Stallard, cricketer Luke Fletcher, the match co-commentator, and Basford United owner Chris Munroe.

All those interviewed had great things to say about the event, the planning, the turnout, the game itself, and of course, the charitable element, with a view to more similar events taking place in the future at Greenwich Avenue.

All in all, a fantastic day, and before I forget, I'd like to give a shoutout to the Curry Lounge, who donated vast amounts of curry, rice and naan breads, and made for a marvellous slap-up post-match (and post-press duties) meal!

Thank you to all involved for such a brilliant occasion, and long may it continue - looking forward to more events in the future!

Notts County have announced the arrival of Paul Hart as the acting Academy Manger. The club stated they felt it was important to support the current Academy staff and players.

This is whilst the club continue the disciplinary process with Mick Leonard, Hart steps into the role which as been overseen by Mick Halsall. The decision to take on Paul Hart appears to reflect on the clubs desire to produce their own high level, quality professional players.

Hart is well known within the football community for being able to help bring through promising young talent. The experienced manager has enjoyed success with a flight of top teams, the likes of Leeds United and Nottingham Forest, where he helped to progress the development of players such as former England internationals Jermaine Jenas and Jonathan Woodgate.

He helped Leeds United win two F.A Cups at youth level, which formed the backbone of the side that was able to reach the Champions League semi-finals back in 2001/2002.

At Nottingham Forest he aided the progress of upcoming fledging stars such as David Prutton, Gareth Williams, Barry Roach, Andy Reid, Michael Dawson and former Notts County player and fan favourite John Thompson.

The last youth role Hart had was with Portsmouth FC, where he was appointed as the “Director of Youth Operations”. He eventually found himself as the caretaker manager and before taking the manager role permanently back in July 2009.

It's a very exciting time for the Notts County Academy, who have recently received a donation from NCFCOSA to aid them with purchasing equipment and now the club's not only introduced Mick Halsall, who has a wealth of experience at this level, but also the arrival of Paul Hart.

Irish born Stephen McLaughlin has joined Notts County after agreeing an initial month’s loan deal from neighbours Nottingham Forest.

The 24-year-old started his career with League of Ireland outfit Finn Harps back in 2009 before making a move to fellow Irish side Derry City.

McLaughlin then signed for Nottingham Forest on the 3rd of January 2013, with a reported fee of around £160,000 having been paid to acquire his services.

He had a short spell at League One promotion chasers Bristol City back in 2013, but under Stuart Pearce, McLaughlin has made four appearances from the bench and a further two as a first team player.

He's held with high regard by the former England Under 21 manager, who has helped to spearhead his role with the Reds into a more prominent one within the first team.

McLaughlin featured as part of the Forest team that played Tottenham in the Capital One Cup last week where, after taking the lead, they went on to lose 3-1 at White Hart Lane.

Notts County Ladies have secured a point away at Chelsea Ladies to elevate them to second in the Women's Super League Table, having previously fallen to fourth place after results in midweek, but could have easily won the game were it not for a good display between the sticks from Blues goalkeeper and Chilean international Christiane Endler.

As has often been the case, the Lady Pies were quickest off the starting blocks, Jess Clarke and Dunia Susi linking up well and causing trouble against the opposition.

The duo helped set up Katie Hoyle in the second minute of the game, but the midfielder blasted wide.

On the quarter-hour mark, Clarke controlled the ball with her chest, but her shot flew just wide, and two minutes later, she managed to force a corner with another dangerous effort.

From the ensuing corner, Rachel Corsie twisted and sent a volley goalwards, but Endler was able to parry the ball away before smothering at the second attempt.

Just a minute later, Caitlin Friend was felled in the Blue box, but the referee only awarded a free kick, which was ultimately cleared away.

Notts continued to have the better of the chances, Clarke continuing to plug away, and towards the end of the half, a mistake by Endler nearly set up Katie Holtham, but the German-born stopper was able to rectify her mistakes and keep her clean sheet unsullied.

After the interval, Endler came out of the box to clear the ball, and Clarke was able to dispossess her and cross into the danger zone, but Chelsea managed to clear away the danger.

Just a few minutes later, Desiree Scott was next to try her luck with a volley, but the Chelsea keeper produced a fine save, backpedaling and tipping the sphere onto the post and out for a corner.

The Blues seldom threatened Carly Telford's goal, the sole real attempts coming from a stray inswinging corner and from Yuki Ogimi's overhit free kick, but as it was, Endler's erratic yet effective display ensured that the spoils would be shared among the two sides.

The WSL is bisected by a mid-season break, which will see no action take place until the 29th June, with the exception of the FA Cup final between Arsenal and Everton on the 1st June.
