Saving the environment

Recommended Posts

The UK ought to pledge more robust commitments to ensure businesses are playing their part, not just superficial social media posts about recycling for the sake of appearances. Instead, they should be actively involved in combating pollution, preserving green spaces, and maintaining clean water. The financial burden will inevitably fall on the taxpayers, as it always does, rather than political parties using these initiatives to effect substantial changes. A promising first step would be to position the UK as one of Europe’s premier locations for charging electric cars or to find a more suitable solution to reduce gas/diesel emissions.

@NottsCountyKev "A promising first step would be to position the UK as one of Europe’s premier locations for charging electric cars or to find a more suitable solution to reduce gas/diesel emissions" ................  A valid point but the UK needs to generate much more electricity... we are way behind the curve having abandoned on shore wind farms for many years as a result of this government's own policy. We are paying higher electricity prices because of this as well as abandoning steel production, as this relocates elsewhere in the world where electricity costs are so much cheaper

I wished for once, the UK would make a real effort to clean up our lakes, countryside, rivers etc.

Learn to spend money investing in infrastructure, instead of big pally contracts to aid those who donate to political parties. The UK should be great, but we are not. More effort could go into creating jobs, instead of bailing out the rich who are going bankrupt just to save their own dough. The environment, cost of living and making the UK a great place to live needs to happen sooner rather than later.

It's ironic how those who come over here for the benefits quickly call the UK, despite being put up in hotels, having money to buy food, clothes etc.

Yet they just complain because they feel things should be handed to them.

The UK seems to have its priorities misplaced.
