@notts-joe How many times more, do you hope Hollis is going to improve? :D

Whilst he wears a Notts shirt or represents us.

This will most likely be his last season unless the worst happens (league status), he's not the worst player but he isn't very consistent and he goes missing. I wouldn't say he's getting worse but he hasn't progressed as much as he probably should have but without sounding like I'm creating excuses to defend him - Notts haven't been that great during the past three seasons and this isn't his fault really.

Could the same be said about the club?

It could! I am actually someone that has defended Hollis quite a lot but that performance against Carlisle just changed my mind about him

Yet for me, he wasn't the worst defender on the pitch - yet none of the back four did us any credit.

Some are surprised Curtis Thompson hasn't been released, he's got talent but largely failed to show it after Moniz departed. Two different players I know but my point is we have a lot of pressure, plus it shows how players can go missing. Let's face it, if he doesn't make the grade he won't last because a smart manager will looked to out obsolete players.

"Some are surprised Curtis... hasn't been released".   He is still under contract.

You can release players under contract, its a case of 'mutually released' but he's worth holding onto far more than Hollis.

When I first saw Thommo play CM under Derry I thought he was a very good player, always winning the ball back and then would do a smart turn and pass it on, but this season seems to have knocked his confidence, I do think he has skill and passion though so I'd keep hold of him

I'm not fussed about Thommo to be fair, on his day he can be very good, but there is too much average in their for the rest of the time. In a more combative midfield he might be a decent option, but his shortcomings were too exposed this season whilst playing with Aborah and Noble.
