I wish him well too, just feel Chesterfield might not be the best place for him to go but he's off there.

Good luck to the bloke, he needed a club change as he isn't going to get back into the Notts team on a regular basis and is probably top of the list for release this summer.

Had potential, but his confidence was shattered last season, along with a defence that just couldn't cope with crosses into the box.

i am pleased for him, if he does well he could keep them up. my only fear for ross is that chesterfield might be in the same issue as notts last season.

Jake Kean is good enough backup, if Ross Fitzsimons does well he should be allowed to move on. Simply too flaky as a first team keeper, I wish him well but he's not good enough.

I thought when Sam Slocombe injured, I expected Jake Kean to fill in - it was good to see Ross Fitzsimons come in. He did well, he looked confident and ready to prove himself. I think 2018/2019 was difficult for him, I still believe he could have done a bit better but at the same time I openly acknowledge that the defence was terrible. I'm still surprised to see him leave, as I felt he shown enough to prove he can be a backup.

We'll be relying on Jake Kean or hoping he's on the bench.

He needs to show Neal Ardley he's a good first team keeper, if he does well at Chesterfield he could revive his career not just at Notts but in football.

The move makes sense - he presumably gets first-team football, while we can recall him if we need him. Good luck to him. Personally I never thought he was up to it, good reflexes but absolutely no command of his area or the defence.

@allardyces tash You remind me of when (I think) Steve Mildenhall was signing an autograph near where I was sat once - one bloke piped up with "don't drop the pen!"

There’s better, younger and hungrier players out there. I think to be truth, his chance has past but you never know in football. Good luck to him regardless.

I would worry if I supported them, as this season Ross as looked good as a backup. I don't think he's ready to be the first team choice in this league yet.

I just hope it doesn’t haunt Notts, the keeper seen as number one has already been out for a short spell. Is the coach good enough as backup? I don’t know.

The coach is going to have to be good enough as a back up gk but i do hope we sign another one as a back up even if its just a temp loan for now.

The stories of "terms" seems unfair to me, a player will want to play. I get the impress Neal Ardley could make himself a bit more approachable, but again it sounds petty and such a non story to begin with.

Good luck to Ross.

Well, he didn't even make the Chesterfield first team. He sat on their bench and unless he gets a few games, he will be gone.

He never looked like a solid first-team keeper, fans over hyped him after a single game in a poor cup competition due to disliking Adam Collin.

It' no real surprise is it? I expected him to be gone sooner, but it must be annoying to sign for a new club on loan and end up keeping their bench warm.
