  2. Notts County 1-2 Salford City - Back to normal
  3. @liampie It would be great for us to finish above 10th place if possible. I think the Season could be remembered for what might have been. A very unique statistic could be on the horizon too. With seven games left, it is possible that Notts could finish up scoring 85+ goals and concede 85+ goals. I haven't been able to find any statistics on record goals scored and conceded by a league team in a season, but if that happened to Notts it would surely be close to that unwanted record.
  4. Today
  5. One goal is enough to secure a win for Panthers on the road tonight.
  6. It's the defenders keep making the mistakes,no matter how much they are swapped around.
  7. i think this season would end up better remembered if we could beat the team that sent us down, we were doomed them i know but the way some of their fans took joy in seeing us relegated and the way their players did similar makes me hopeful that we can go get all the points. if our players can do that, i think its one thing positive about the ending of this campaign. if we can finish as strongly as possible, it gives us a good chance to pick up in the next campaign. swindon dont have much to play for themselves, so hope our players see how important the win could be for those who watched the club fall to the lowest point in the clubs history. i doubt they will end up seeing eggs on their faces this season, they should be good enough to stay up and i wouldn't wish them relegation either. i just hope to win them, so we can nudge ourselves back up the table a bit more. its the difference between a respectable league finish and being average.
  8. @KB1862 difference with fullarton mate is maynard has helped us not to concede and the performances have been still quite decent, its unfortunate that there is not a lot he can do. fullarton was out of his depth and just went about making it all about him. he seemed to have no relationship with the players, with an attitude that he was better than what he was. the reedtz wont sack him any time soon, where not in a point where it makes sense for them to do it. not with how few games are left to go. i think they will give him a chance to start the next season, its not like he has a lot of influence or say on who the club is looking to bring in. he can only work with them and try to get the best out of them. managers, just like young players sometimes need time. this season will be vital experience for maynard, if he can work with the club to make sure we are more solid at the back and built that way from the goal, defence upwards than he will have a better chance of doing better. the club would make a mistake if they did not try to bring in more suitable players for this level.

  10. @Robbie i cant say i have noticed the dashboard being slow, have you tried clearing the cache for pon in your browser? the post not appearing to post does happen from time, it sort of goes away but i will make sure to let chris know about you say.
  11. @Wheelbarrow repair man I do hope he keeps our strongest side, however it was mentioned that with two close games, that may impact on team selection & things may be mixed up a little, and possible rotation was mentioned too, with everyone in the squad needing to step up to the plate. Let's hope that Stuart is probably wanting to keep Swindon guessing. We'll have to wait and see
  12. Welcome to the PON site @John Catling.

  14. I hope you're wrong Robbie regarding Maynard swapping things around over the Weekend, that's all well and Good but if Notts Do pull off a Victory at Swindon and he changes the line up Monday and the Magpies Lose, All Hell Wil Break Loose. He's on a Hiding to Nothing realistically only Two Victories will ease the pressure on Maynard and his coaching Staff.

  16. Swindon are on a 4 game winless streak. Luckily for them, their next game is against the side with the worst record in 2024! Seriously though, it's 2 teams desperate for a win. Notts are probably in a better place so I think we will be celebrating 3 points, if not, Monday will be interesting.....

  18. Agree @menzinho Notts's Achilles heal has been conceding an early goal in many matches this season coupled with silly mistakes at the back. If Notts start the game with a flourish, if they are switched on from the get go, and continue with that positivity for 90+ minutes, I'm hopeful that we will see a positive result.
  19. First goal will be massive here, possibly to the point of who wins the game, as both teams need that confidence boost a goal brings. We've got nothing to fear, they've slipped down the table as badly as we have and even though there's nothing left to play for pride should be all the motivation you need. And let's be honest SM desperately needs a decent result to take into the game with MK on Monday. We've had our better results and performances away from home, so I'm hoping that trend continues tomorrow.

  21. Yeah win percentage isn’t always a great way of viewing things, it’s all relative. He managed to get a part-time team in a pretty much full-time league, having just recently been promoted, to mid-table. All things considered he actually did very well at Wealdstone, but maybe the step up has just come to early for him. The Reedtz Bros have stated they are here for the long-term and they definitely have the clubs best interests at heart. We've always had a competitive squad and they’ve spent a of lot money improving and building new infrastructures at the stadium. Our better players won’t be sold just because someone bids for them, I’m sure we turned down offers for the likes of Wootton and Rodrigues because they thought them staying was more beneficial. I’m 99% certain we will only sell a player if their valuation is met. Our owners are human too, they’ll make mistakes and fans have to accept sometimes that’s going to happen. It’s about how you deal with the set-backs and I don’t think they’ll be panicking too much because the summer transfer window is a big opportunity to strengthen us and address the defensive issues. If we sign some good defenders and even add 1 or 2 new attacking players we can only improve! The question will then just be is SM the right man to take us forward?
  22. I've listened to Stuart's pre Swindon press conference and I get the impression that he certainly knows what the problems are, the individual errors and the failure to deal with crosses into the box from Corners & open play. He believes that Notts are better at dealing with situations when opponents break forwards after Notts losing possession. He knows that individual mistakes are costing us but work on the training ground can cut them out or reduce those mistakes, I'm not to sure about that He talked quite a lot about the physicality of League 2 and we know Notts are deficient in that area. It looks like Notts will be bringing in players in the close season that are stronger and tougher, and can hold their own in dealing with that physicality. Swindon are a physical side and like to pump balls into the box so that is going to be a challenge on Friday. Also, expect changes for Friday, I got the impression that Stuart will rotate the squad during the Easter period. Here's the link to Stuart's press conference. https://youtu.be/PWj0z8Jj3EU?si=aQKD3zAh4CdjvwX5
  23. Ohh Tommy Johnson that's basically what I meant someone to come on here as a member or incognito and then Report Back. My Bad.
  24. @Wheelbarrow repair man Trew and Hardy tried that. They both got sucked into discussions and arguments which ended up badly. I don't know how they could come on here unless it was incognito (in which case who knows, they may already do that). @Robbie He has a UEFA B license then. You get a grace period of a couple of years to get the A license, but must demonstrate that you are working towards it. Of course that's another draw on his time in addition to all the other things that are going on. It can't help. On the stats at Wealdstone, I think you need to take context into account. It would be like us playing in L1 with our current team, I guess. He had Wealdstone punching above their weight, so 30% probably isn't that bad.
