Good views, thanks @liampie.
I would keep Neal Ardley myself, I think Mel is absolutely right about stability. Its key for success and I think there's more chance of establishing ourselves as a good National League team within our first season with him at the helm.
We don't need another season where the manager is guessing who to play.

Good luck to Jon, I know there's talk of him retiring, but I have also heard he might stay on for another year and join a League Two team. I suspect he'll hang his boots up, as this falls into what he's mentioned.
He came across as quite grumpy and somewhat rude towards the end of his time at Notts, before that always a standout as one of the best to engage with fans. I'm happy with the retained list, however, it would have been nice to hang on to Jim O'Brien - he gave his all for Notts.
That standard needs to be met by any new signings next season.

The club had to do something, if the sales aren't happening and that's what is needed - you do the common sense. I think they should have lowered them a bit more, even if the club had survived the drop.
Repay that amazing support we have given.

Thank you everyone!

The fans were incredible @TheSkipper.

Proud of @ARLukomski, saddened to see the last one. It's been a crap season mate, but I have enjoyed your vlogs.

I think Neal Ardley's made sensible 'team' signings, Jorge Grant would have been another luxury. I feel he's worth a few points just due to his sheer quality but I would question how he could fit into the squad we have now - without looking like he did for Mansfield this past Saturday.
He looked empty and unable to change the game, I rate him but I feel he's best suited elsewhere.
Mansfield should be a good fit if they manage to get more time for him on the ball, I'm personally happy with the January signings we got.

Notts needs to stop sacking managers and actually work towards overcoming the issues, once Meadow Lane becomes toxic that's it but smarter appointments is needed.
Harry Kewell failed because he got ahead of himself after winning three games in a row.
Neal Ardley needs to avoid thinking he can throw anyone wherever he feels, play players in form and in their strongest position. I hope he can be here for many years.

The club seems to be playing with confidence and a fighting spirit right now, I think things will naturally pick up but I am curious about any knock backs. I hope the players are able to respond positively if we hit a bit of a wobble, otherwise I just hope we can kick on now.
Harry Kewell's made a huge difference already.

Positive point and step in the right direction.
Either team could have won, so it seems fair. Time to start clawing our way up the table! COYP

Notts does well then they take their feet of the gas.
There's no real pathway and the competition isn't that good, most cases the experience isn't gained and the potential ends up getting lost. We can't rush youngsters, something that tends to happen and if they don't impress in their first year as a professional they end up being released.
This is why a development squad is beneficial because you can retain them and give them the proper training required to learn the game.
There's a huge difference between playing at Meadow Lane in from of thousands of fans, sometimes the mental side of the game takes much longer to shine and it comes with experience. Notts needs to learn to feed the right youngsters into the Non League so they can adapt.
It would be nice to see them coming into the first team squad, yet there's a reason why we don't see it happening.
Hopefully with Paul Hart back, this might improve because the club should try to get his experience throughout the club.

Thanks @Bainbridge NCFC, it's good to show fans what's happening across League Two. It shows we are on the ball with the latest news.

The issue is a mix of things.
I have said that the fitness hasn't been good since the pre-season, usually the players look much more engaged with games but I don't think it's just that - yes we Mike Edwards quite clearly but it's also not that simple. The players need to mark better, we have defended very loosely for years and someone should be telling them to press much more.
Also, they don't take responsibility for their own actions that well - they need to be more practical and hard-working on the field.
I do feel Notts miss the experience, however at the same time the experience we do have remaining has been underwhelming.
To move forward, the players have to work harder and ensure that the ball is well protected. I don't feel things will improve that much until the club has a more vocal and experienced goalkeeper though. There's a lot holding Notts back, yet sadly for me Ross Fitzsimons hasn't taken his chance to secure the number 1 position.

Fingers crossed Forte is a doubt because he's a good striker.
We could have done with him here but the budget needed adjusting I suppose, it should be a good game.

Well done Caitlyn, fantastic drawing of our mascot PON Magpie.

@Who r ya?? You Pies!! I feel the same way.
I have come to realise that my disappointment is more a reflection of my desire to see a stable Notts County, if Harry Kewell can get Notts playing attacking football focused on retaining the ball it could help - it all depends on him and the squad now. No blame from here should fall on Kevin Nolan.

I hope Harry Kewell can hit the ground running, he needs to fix things but I am unsure if an attacking minded manager will be able to grasp the horror that is the Notts County defence.

Kevin Nolan will sort it out, there's been big improvements and I just hope come the day when we discuss who should be released we reflect on the players who have truly let Notts down. Nolan IN too.

Hopefully the deal is good enough, at what price do you put on a talent like that? If the club was going to lose him it's best they got the best price possible.
It just would have been nice to see him play properly for Notts.

Very well done Kyle, this is an excellent article.

C'mon folks please help spread the word and help us reward some junior magpies! We wanted to do something which would encourage young supporters and PON Magpie is a great mascot for this reason.
I'm looking forward to seeing the submissions.

Pierce Bird will be a key player if he's given a chance next season, we need to sign an experienced centre back to assist him and it's a shame Mike Edwards isn't younger (as I believe that's the type of player who'd help).
Will Patching and Tom Crawford must be given a chance, Crawford especially since he's stood out at the National League level.
There's no point having passengers, these are the signings Notts must avoid so it will be interesting to see who Neal Ardley will choose to give his backing.
