It's the second round and, alongside the proper leagues, even the Vanarama National Conference is getting in on the action. I've just been over at the neighbours' drinking home-made liquor that seems to consist only of alcohol, but I'm sure these fixtures will be OK. So have fun, get your predictions in by 3pm on Saturday and don't forget your jokers!

    Sheffield United2 v Millwall0

    Stoke City1 v Blackpool1

Charlton Athletic 0v Derby County2.... Joker

Aaand the PON prediction league is back once again! This is how it works:

At least two days before every matchday I will post a thread with eight matches to predict, two each from the Championship, League One, League Two and (from 6 August) the Conference. You then reply with your predicted scores. The cut-off time for posting is kick-off. At the end of it all I'll then post a table with the current standings.

Scoring system: 3 points for a correct score and 1 for a correct result. So if you predict Hartlepool to beat Walsall 2-1 and they do, you get 3 points; if Hartlepool win 1-0, you get 1 point. Each round you can also choose one match as your joker - any points you win for that match are then doubled.

We have a dedicated (and very competitive!) hardcore, but newcomers are also very, very welcome! Maybe you could be this season's surprise package? Simply reply to this post with your predictions by 3pm this coming Saturday and nominate one match as your joker - good luck!

    Luton Town2 v Birmingham City1

    Rotherham United1 v Swansea City1

    Ipswich Town 2v Bolton Wanderers1...joker

    Plymouth Argyle 2v Barnsley1

    Sheffield Wednesday2 v Portsmouth2

    Leyton Orient 2v Grimsby Town1

    Salford City 1v Mansfield Town1

    Walsall 2v Hartlepool United0

  5. Did anyone else think that the published attendance was a bit shy... I thought it was nearer 14000 than just over 12000..

Been watching this game and several of the other play off games..... Is it my imagination???? Because I've seen more head tennis in these games than I've seen at Meadow Lane all season.... Anyone else noticed this???

It’s the month where the big decisions fall, whether in pointless competitions like the Premier League, or in incredibly important, era-defining contests like the Vanarama National League or the PON prediction league. Who will make history? Who will finish fifth? And will anybody notice if I give myself an extra 100 points? These matches take place on Saturday, with the two Championship games kicking off at 12.30 and all the others at 3pm. And remember those jokers. Good luck!

It's the penultimate week of this season's prediction league - we say goodbye to League One (no idea why they're finishing a week early) and any mathematical chance most of us have of winning it. But there's pride and honour to fight for. Kick-off is 3pm on Saturday - except for the two League One fixtures, which start at 12.30pm. And don't forget your jokers!

There are only three rounds to go - now is the time to stake your claim for the title or to climb as high as you can. A lucky few of you might even finish above me, and I'm not bitter at all. Not even a little bit. Kick-off is Saturday at 3pm, and you have one joker each!
