    Italian Magpies

I remember the night very well.We were holidaying between Skegness and Ingoldmells and had gone to Skegness for the evening. You and Cheeky with Jake, Ellie and 1 month old Ava and me pushing your mum in her wheelchair trying to find a venue that was showing the match ,which I think was on Setanta(ESPN)After several failed attempts at various pubs(straight in and out)I remembered seeing a pub down a side street that advertised Setanta,,So me and you ran off(leaving the others somewhat stranded)found the pub and asked if they would put the match on for us..The lovely barmaid agreed and we left her rather bemused, telling her we would return soon, which we did with the rest of our group. With about 5 minutes to kick off we settled down to watch the match, panic over..Then some other Notts fans came rushing in with relieved looks on their faces. What ensued was a really enjoyable evening for all, with lots of friendly banter aimed at yous truly.Yes ,a night to remember
  4. Last played Liverpool in a cup match-26/10/77,Liverpool 2-Rams 0(League cup)Thanks for reminding me!
  5. Don't recall playing Liverpool in F.A or League cup but ,bearing in mind my age and memory, will have to check
  6. Good memory for you.Still don't understand why he was allowed to go nor the circumstances.
  7. He was reliable, dedicated, popular and professional for us Rams in the best and worst of times. He is obviously someone who wants to put something back into football and the community. Another excellent, informative post-Thanks Joe.
  8. Just said it how it is.After any unhappy experience life goes on but so many people get affected. It's up to everyone involved to pull together and try to help each other and for that reason I hope the fund raisers had a very successful day.
  9. Lovely write up again, very informative and keeps me up to date with one of my 'other clubs'.Seems like a fair result especially away from home.It could be a spring board for the rest of the season if only Notts could learn to play for two halves.
  10. Very sad when anyone loses a family member or friend but particularly heartbreaking when it's a young child as you and Cheeky and the rest of our family are only too aware'.She who must be obeyed' and myself have been blessed with 4 absolutely brilliant grandchildren but it doesn't take away all the heartache. I hope Notts fans respond generously! All the best to Dean and Danielle and their families for the future.
  11. Repeating myself again ,but yet another great post. Thanks Walsall fan!
  12. Yes, I remember this match very well and could so easily have been a giant killing.Seem to recall you almost jumping into the tv when Notts scored. and the kids going mad with excitement.

    Notts County - View

Lovely to read dedicated fans comments and memoriies, funny too.More please.
  14. Mmmm,as an outsider, with no axe to grind regarding Notts,I find these comments rather guarded; However what's gone is gone, as they say, so I just hope that whoever the manager is can restore some kind of confidence for your fans.
  15. Looks like he could be a very good aquisition.
  16. Another good, informative report.Seems similar to the Rams match, though the other way round. Before kick off I would have taken a point away at Sheffield though very disappointed we let a 2 goal lead slip.I suppose Notts fans will be disappointed they could not take 3 points but will probably be happy with a draw given the 1st half performance.Still a lot to play for!
  17. Another interesting and informative post. It's great to read about the exploits of players I'm not too familiar with. Thanks for sharing .
  18. Another informative report, thanks Joe.As an outsider listening on the radio to Notts(when Derby aren't playing)I must agree with your conclusion.I will be interested to see how Chris Kiwomya deals with the situation.
  19. They keep on coming don't they!Another excellent , balanced ,informative post. Many thanks to Chris and Josh.
  20. Another excellent post.I do feel for you fans at the moment with a promising season falling apart. However it's not too late to still make this a season to remember.Good luck.

    Keith Curle Sacked!

Hughes gone ,Curle gone. The timing of both departures very strange. Now a great responsibilty rests with your chairman. He must now choose someone who can unite players, fans and everyone connected with Notts. The chosen candidate will have a huge job on his hands but if he can lift the team, perhaps get a loan deal in and restore supporters confidence then you could all still have a very good season,Fingers crossed for you all! .
  22. Another cracking post.It makes you realise how much better it is for our teams. It also shows what we fans put ourselves through when our teams are struggling.
  23. Yes,I'm really getting into this site now.As I've said before it's nice to see other fans views and share the ups and downs that all fans experience. Whether you support Manchester United or,to use one of Cloughies favourite sayings,Nottingham Pork Butchers, we all have one thing in common-the great game of football.
  24. No Weymouth you are not a miserable sod ,you are spot on with your rant and have said it all.I can,t add anything to what you say, you,ve said it all and I agree totally.Lets just get on with the season!
