I know what you mean, I hate it when on those cooking programmes you see so called gourmet food being prepared and the waste such a lot of good food trying to get the perfect look.
Having said that, when something looks appealing it can definitely make it taste better than it would if the same thing was just slopped on the plate in my opinion. I suppose its something about the eye fooling the mind into thinking it tastes better.
