  1. I'm not believing anything that "non league insider" account says. Same with Ex Agent 12. As much as it might be a decent signing by the looks of it, I'll wait till it's legit
  2. I surprisingly got over it pretty quickly. It would have hurt more if I was there to see us lose. At the start of the season, nobody expected us to be in the play-off final. We had the squad to challenge for the play-offs but nobody expected us to make so much progress on and off the pitch. Everything we did in the build up to the game was fine. Ardley said we even prepared for Harrogate's press. We just didn't execute it and we maybe should have played Rawlo and Enzio. However, he has done a terrific job all season. It's disappointing but with the progress made, we'll be bac
  3. Very excited by this. Looks a very astute piece of business. Can play anywhere across the attacking front four positions. Could also signal a change in formation. The planning and scouting that goes into every signing now gives me so much confidence in the management team and the board.
  4. Good luck to him. Ardley said he wasn't going to stand in his way. It's a chance to manage. Who wouldn't take that opportunity. Doyle, Simon Bassey possible replacements?
  5. Disappointed in Booty and Crawford being released. Both young, creative and can still develop. Booty showed that when he played, he could create chances and that he had a good pass on him. Crawford was forming a good partnership with Doyle in some games last season and he would have only improved with his experience
  6. Right footed for football and right handed for most things apart from snooker which I am weirdly left handed. I can dribble with my left foot but apart from that it isn't of much use. Right foot strong foot
  7. Slocombe 7 - Did what he had to do when called upon. Always looked assured, Quality save Brindley 8 - Battled and hassled really well. Got forward to support. Lacey 8 - Makes it look so easy. One pass out of defence across the pitch to Bagan in the first half was exquisite. Turner 8 - First game since December I think and he looked at ease. Dealt with Paul McCallum really well. Put the yards in Bagan 9 - Looked so comfortable on the ball, got forward well and has a dangerous left foot. Played years above his age Roberts 9 - Pure magic Rose 7 - Kept the cogs turni
  8. The play-offs are on. Finally, the National League gave the go ahead for them and the chance for one of six teams to win promotion to League Two for the 2020-21 season. The season was eventually decided on a PPG basis which meant most clubs kept their original position in the final standings bar a few changes. The biggest change of them all coming with Barnet moving from 11th to 7th and a play-off date with Yeovil. The stoppage of the league meant The Bees climbed above Stockport, Solihull, Woking, and Hartlepool due to points-per game. The format for the play-off will be in its
  9. Having seen the clips of us training and heard the interviews with staff and players, we seem to be well prepared. Press them like Yeovil did but make sure we take our chances. Not much else to add from what I said the other day in the Preparing for Barnet topic.
  10. Against Yeovil, for some time Barnet let Yeovil have the ball and they hit them twice on the counter. Yeovil should have scored. They hit the bar and had one cleared off the line. Hoping our attack can take the chances Yeovil didn't. Akinola, Fonguck and Coulthirst were all out injured for Saturday's game so don't know if they'll be back. Akinola is their top scorer and Fonguck is good on the ball and travel with the ball from deep, making late runs to join attacks. Paul McCallum has 5 in 6 on loan at Barnet but I have faith in Lacey and Rawlo to keep it tight at the back. We
  11. An essence of Tony Yeboah about that Ben Turner strike. Rather splendid. We do look quite sharp. We may be conceding goals but in contrast we did have the 2nd best defence in the league and that is something I can take comfort from.
  12. Since December we've statistically been the best team in the league. I hope we can continue the form we were in at season's end. I believe we can take anyone in the play-offs. The only thing that is worrying me slightly is who we face in the semi-final because we don't have the greatest record against Yeovil and it also matters about the extra game and whether that will be a key factor in match fitness. We did enough to take something from their place in the league but we were still trying to find our best team, the squad was still getting used to each other and we were still to bring mo
  13. Was off work for two months. Did quite a bit of exercise to try and get my fitness up, lose weight and improve my football craft. Saved my money until late April when I started spending money on football merch. Ended up with quite a lot of stuff. Completed a club tournament and a World Cup on Fifa in kick off mode which was a great laugh. Returned to work in late May. Now started a re-design, a kind of modernisation of my oldest brother's room who moved out 5 years ago. The rooms is still pretty empty so me and my brother are turning it into a bit more of a gaming room

  16. The obvious answer is Michael Doyle as he knows the play-offs like his front door. His experience will be crucial in helping us. Crawford, Turner, McCrory, Bakayogo, McDonnell and Wes Thomas have all been through the play-offs before as well. The football we were playing pre lockdown was quality and Neal Ardley's tactics were ever improving (e.g. Aldershot first half, changed formation to break them down and Fylde away went to 3 in midfield to break them down). A fully fit Sam Slocombe is a big plus for us. Joe McDonnell did fine in his few games but Slocombe was pushing for player
  17. Not surprised with how much rebuilding had to be done. We had to build an entire new squad
