Husin will be good against these as they don't have many tall lads in midfield. But we MUST win. No excuses we have to win not just this game but Barnet and Carlisle too. Need to keep winning and winning.

Obviously this may change if Tootle is still ill and Virtue is still suspended.

  2. I feel like we are gonna bottle this if we keep going the way we are. Nolan got it completely wrong yesterday. If it ain’t broken, don’t try and fix it. No idea why we went with 4-2-3-1 when it’s untried, untested and unproven with this team. Why change a formation that’s been working all season. Hunt plays everyone on for the first goal. Second one is a woeful pass by Virtue. Husin was bought off when he was doing well. Noble and Walker looked quality in the centre of midfield yesterday.  Hewitt is not a centre back, we desperately need to sign some cover. Early in the second half, four good balls were put into the box with nobody’s on the end of them, showing again why we so badly need a striker. Alessandra missed a sitter at the back post. Ameobi won the penalty then afterwards didn’t look bothered. The problem is yesterday’s selection was caused by injuries and again we have no strength in depth. Luton can have injuries and replace them players with players who are just as good. Tootle is ill and we replace him with a grandfather clock.

  3. No idea at the minute cos some players are injured but I feel like Duffy and Forte may return as Brisley had that knock at Crawley but still managed to play the next game against Lincoln. As for Ameobi he plays 2 games then gets injured. Fitzsimons, Tootle, Brisley, Duffy, Jones, Alessandra, Hewitt, Yates, Grant, Stead, Forte

If not then: Fitzsimons, Tootle, Brisley, Hewitt, Jones, Hawkridge, Walker, Yates, Grant, Stead, Alessandra

Despite my selection I'd honestly I'd rather play Bird at CB than Hewitt. Hewitt is just not a CB. He really isn't and I hope Nolan realises.

  4. Need to cut out the silly mistakes and soft goals we have been conceding recently. This isn't a we'll be fine cos we're at home game. Colchester have improved recently and are now in the top half. Been on a 6 match unbeaten run. Bring Ameobi back in and hopefully Stead is ok. Stead is key for us, he brings the wingers into play and let's them get beyond the opposition wing-backs.

  5. Brisley will be a massive loss. For me he's our player of the season at the minute if I had to pick one. Think we're starting to get an Eddie Howe Bournemouth type team mentality and togetherness. I would bring Hewitt in as I'm still not convinced by Hollis. Hopefully Bris is back for the Exeter or Mansfield game. He is so crucial to us this season and we need to wrap him in cotton wool. I would probs go with Collin, Tootle, Duffy, Hewitt, Jones, Grant, Milsom, Yates, Alessandra, Stead, Forte. But Hawkridge is bound to start being an ex Lincoln player.

  6. So angry and very very disappointed. Still do not understand why a goalscorer was not a main priority in the summer. We all knew Stead and Ameobi would be ok but would not cut the deep enough mustard to take us into a play off place. I'm happy with the amount of chances we created but we need to take them. A goalscorer takes them. Why Ameobi shot when Grant had the freedom of Nottingham to put us 3-1 up I have no idea. Ameobi and Stead won't play all the games this season so why we haven't bought a striker to put into the starting x1 I will never know.  We can't stop conceding either. 7 in 4 games is woeful. Why we keep allowing the opposition back into the game when we're 2-0 up, I have no idea. Wycombe last weekend, Orient last season. We need to stop making life so hard for ourselves. Still feels like we need another centre back.
