  2. I'm currently writing about the opening day, when I reached a point whereby I spoke about the fan pictures I take. I realised I hadn't shared any, so here I am. >https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10154235713265961.1073741882.158954730960&type=3 Direct Link - Here This season, I decided to call our pictures - The Faces of PON. I actually spoken about this last season to @Cobby, he felt it would be a very good idea and I am pleased people have responded so well. Obviously the result pays part in that but I did get many, many, very positive comments about my work and of course PON. Please do tag anyone you know, such as your family and friends - also, if you like album or any of the pictures. I would appreciate if you could click 'like', as it's always nice to see.
  3. Later on today, I will be appearing on the BBC Radio Nottingham's football talk show 'Match Talk'. I am very excited about returning, and although I am used to doing our very own audio based show - The PONcasts. I am sure, the experience will be different but very fun. It's likely I will be nervous, who wouldn't? I suppose if your confident and really out going, you wouldn't be but this said I am pleased that David Jackson has had me back. My first appearance, I only became nervous once we went on air but I felt I did very well. Back then, I wasn't keen on hearing my own voice but much has changed since then. Please do listen and show your support folks, this would mean an incredible amount to me and I hope to hear that you. PS. Don't phone in... LOL

  5. Okay folks, PON member @paulnathan666 is the fan behind the FB ground 'Notts County Legends'. I thought it would be nice to promote this useful and interesting group, especially since we ourselves have features which related to this niche. It's actually a very good idea, I was planning to start one after seeing @sadlad do one for Walsall but thankfully, with all my PON duties I'd never have time and Paul does a great job. Go give the group a like folks - Here
  6. The past month really had stumped us, in fact I wasn't sure who to name originally. We have so many fantastic posters, who provide the site with a wide range of points and opinions. I would like to throw a couple of mentions before I name the actual member of the month, yet before I do, I would like to thank you all for contributions. When you visit regularly and comment, it provides a lot for the PON site, it gives us a foundation for the community we have and I cannot encourage it enough. This said, all visits and contributors greatly help - so please don't feel ignored if you visit once every so often. Firstly, @Piety - Brilliant contributor, responses always add a great to deal to the discussions. @pokerpie - Also has made some excellent contributions and it's nice to see him settling in. @wacky and @wroughty are also two members who stand out for their efforts with posting detailed responses. All four of you very much deserve being mentioned and highlighted. Member of the Month - July @nottsfever - I made comments within the latest PONcast (soon to be aired, now there's a plug ) I think nottsfever sums up what makes a difference within the community, always getting involved and posting good responses - joins in discussions and talks to other members but also contributes by starting topics. Not only this, I often see nottsfever commenting on our social pages from time to time and it's just fantastic to see. Please take the time to congratulate this months winner(s) folks! You Pies!!

  14. Hey folks, First of all I would like to thank each and every one of you for reading this, because it means that you’re part of the Pride of Nottingham community and you are the reason for us being where we are now. By us I mean the entire collective, each and every follower and fan, from those who came on board in the early days to those who have literally just joined us now. Your support is not just appreciated – it’s cherished. Over the last few years the site has grown to the point that it currently averages 5,000 visits a day and boasts a thriving forum comprising of fans from all walks of life, countries and football allegiances. PON’s social media presence is strong, with the Facebook page currently at over 1,250 people and growing by the day. Few would dispute that it is now the biggest Notts County fan site out there. In terms of content, over the last few weeks we have rolled out our very own podcast show, the PONcast, which has proven incredibly popular, and we’ve been securing interviews with some great people in and around the world of Notts County, including Colin Slater, Andy Legg, Mike Edwards Mark Stallard (twice), and Kevin Grealish. Pride of Nottingham is currently in a great place, but we don’t want to rest on our laurels. There is potential for the site to go even further and completely take the entire Notts County community by storm. We have some exciting developments coming up that would allow us to do this, but in order to break through this glass ceiling, we will need to budget accordingly. And this is where you come in. If you’re enjoying being part of the Pride of Nottingham community, and feel strongly enough about the site becoming even bigger, better and bolder, you can help our cause by making a donation to the page. It’s a completely voluntary thing, so if you feel like you want to make a contribution to the site, then it’s up to you. In addition we have several exciting fundraisers coming up, including a frankly insane idea thought up by Joe Jones that would see him effectively prove his commitment to PON to the maximum – so look out for this coming up, plus plenty more. As things stand we’ve received donations from @hissingdwarf, @tonyhateley, @Cobby and @jsrjay. You guys are absolute stars and your contributions are valued more than you can imagine. In addition, @jsrjay is a Nottingham Forest fan, which just goes to show how the traditional rivalry between the two Nottingham clubs is little more than banter, and how the two clubs – and its fans – unite to help each other out in times of need. If you would like to donate you can do so via PayPal - Please send to webmaster@prideofnottingham.co.uk Alternatively, you can message Notts-Joe if you would like to donate without using PayPal. Once again we would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being part of the Pride of Nottingham community – you truly are our lifeblood, and with your help we can grow together and take this a whole new level! Yours sincerely, Notts Joe and Joe Jones

  16. I have noticed that a lot of Notts fan always include something NCFC related within their usernames and e-mails, yes I sort of expect it with usernames (especially on PON) but not so much on general forums/sites. Also, e-mails seem to have a lot of connections with Notts. '1862' to being popular or 'ncfc'. So I am wondering, do you have Notts included in your e-mail? If so why? and do you use the same username elsewhere?
  17. Hello folks, and welcome to the tenth episode of Pride of Nottingham’s PONcast, Notts County's number one podcast. In today’s instalment we begin by discussing the start of the club’s pre-season, including an update from Chief Scout Guy Branston regarding recruitment over the last few weeks and heading into the new campaign. We then move onto the Magpies’ squad numbers and the latest transfer talk at Meadow Lane, including the arrival of Gill Swerts and the rumoured signing of Julian Jenner. We also touch on fan discussions relating to the rescheduled Mansfield game, who should get the captain’s armband and whether Colby Bishop should be given a run in the first team next season, and plenty more. Remember you can subscribe to our PONcast. 18. What do you make of the supposed decision by Forest to cancel playing us in a friendly to celebrate their 150th year anniversary? Supposedly @erindoors reached an agreed mutually at a Football League conference and after being asked to move the game to a Tuesday, it's since come out that Forest have no plans to play Notts. In principle the attendance money is also claimed to have been set to 50/50. @jsrjay Should Forest explain themselves? Opinions?
  19. Hello folks, and welcome to the ninth episode of Pride of Nottingham’s PONcast, Notts County's number one podcast. In today’s instalment we begin by discussing Notts County’s new shirt sponsor with Ladbrokes that chairman Ray Trew has previously described as “the biggest in the club’s history”. Next we touch on the Magpies’ pre-season friendly against Scunthorpe United, the first and potentially only one to be played at Meadow Lane this summer, before moving on to the allegedly broken promise of a fixture against Nottingham Forest. We then check out the latest offerings on the transfer rumour mill, with supposed moves for ex-Newcastle United striker Adam Campbell and former Feyenoord right-sided player Gill Swerts on the cards. And in terms of any other business, we find out what the members of the PON community deem the club’s best foreign player, we look at where Notts are ranked among the Football League’s most supported teams overseas. 20. With several European based players rumoured to be linked with our club. I would like to know your thoughts on the men who have served us well in the past. Who would you name as the best ‪Notts‬ County foreign import of all time?
  21. Hello folks, and welcome to the eighth episode of Pride of Nottingham’s PONcast, Notts County's number one podcast. In today’s instalment we begin by discussing the all-important fixture list release, looking into the Magpies’ August league fixtures and the League Cup first round tie. We then move onto the latest transfer movements and speculation at Meadow Lane, which this week concerns the arrival of ex-Rotherham midfielder Robert Milsom, the departure of Garry Thomson, and the uncertain futures of Gary Jones and Balint Bajner. 22. Do you remain signed in when visiting PON? I've wondered this a fair bit, as @super_ram always signs out no matter what. As I have been a member of numerous communities, I find that I very rarely do myself. The only times I seem to remember is when I am doing changes to this site, I never log out of FB or anything like that. So, what is your habit? Do you stay signed into PON? If so/not why?
  23. I didn't run a voting poll for this month folks, I decided to select it quietly and although I do enjoy seeing the community decide who deserves it the most (as this seems fair), I just felt that the decision would be best handled this way - at least for this month. I'm pleased to see despite it being quiet around Notts and here, people are still visiting regularly + joining in when they can. So, thank you for all your contributions, as always it's genuinely appreciated. Also, I won't be posting any special mentions because this month it's been all about the community. By this I mean the regulars who visit and join in, even those with limited time for contributing. When you run any site, it's vital to see input from a wide range of people and we do have this here. It makes me feel extremely proud, so if you read this - you are credited for being apart of the success here. Member of the Month - May @magpiejue - I appreciate the help immensely from this lady, folks might not realize how much she contributes to the site but comments on FB, re-tweets on Twitter, any content I know she will tune into and it's only fair that I acknowledge this. Plus it's great to see her posting on the site, so thank you Julie. Congratulations for being PONs Member of the Month for May. Social Contributor of the Month Harrison 'Muzza' Holland and Richard Thompson, it's split for the first one. Both Harrison and John regularly get involved, they discuss/like and are very much apart of the online community in which we have. Congrats to both Harrison and Richard. Please take the time to congratulate this months winner(s) folks! You Pies!!
  24. Will we see more stability this upcoming season? With all the changes, such as @erindoors taking over as the CEO, Damian Irvine's departure and of course Ricardo Moniz assembling much of his own squad, it makes me ponder if we will see more stability next season. Don't get me wrong, the foundations will always have to be accessed after relegation and I do personally think the footing for us will change into something more positive. I am just trying engage what the current mood is and what the fans opinions are. I wouldn't be so disheartened if next season we just focused on just rebuilding, provided we approached it in the sense of having a good go at League Two football. Under Moniz, we should see better football and on a more consistent level but I'm curious about how new players will settle, how much gates will impact the games, how much the background adjustments will take it's toll on the field. I'm not remotely worried but I very much want us to be a forward moving club and stability is the key. If you read this, weigh up your gut feelings and join in the discussion.
  25. Hi folks and welcome to the seventh episode of Pride of Nottingham’s PONcast, Notts County's number one podcast. In today’s instalment we begin by discussing the speculation surrounding a potential return to Meadow Lane for Ben Davies and the rumoured signing of Dutch winger Julian Jenner. The PONcast then moves onto the provocative tweet sent by chief scout Guy Branston where he claims that new signing Rhys Sharpe is better than current players Blair Adams and Jordan Cranston. We also touch on the latest behind-the-scenes developments at Notts, the Football League campaign to attract overseas fans to show support for their clubs, and a bespoke message for the Italian Magpies. The episode then ends with an exclusive interview with Kevin Grealish, father of prodigious Notts loanee Jack Grealish, as he gives us his thoughts on the season just gone and his hopes for the Magpies next season. Remember you can subscribe to our PONcast. You can do so by using Itunes for IOS devices, downloading any of the main podcast apps from the google play store or even listen to show using the TuneIn Radio app. Please let us know your thoughts on this PONcast, thank you for joining us.
