  1. Hi all, As you will no doubt have seen, things have changed recently around the Pride of Nottingham website. Although in appearance the difference is quite subtle, the site has actually had a fairly big upgrade. This means that over the next few days, maybe even weeks, there might be the odd issue with regards to how the site operates. Whilst I oversee the changes and ensure that the site continues to run at a satisfactory level, I would like to ask members and visitors to be please be patient and to help by reporting things directly to me. I advise all members who use their mobiles or tablets to browse PON, that Tapatalk is awaiting release for the upgrade and that no timescale by them has been given. Please use your mobile browser to use the site in the meantime. I think you will find that it’s actually a very good alternative, but if you have any concerns or problems – please bring them to my attention. Regards, Chris
  2. Anybody aiming to attend any of the pre-season games? I know its pretty much standard and a way for Notts to gain fitness/trial players - all whilst experimenting with the team but it is good fun. I'm hoping to attend a few of the smaller games, along with the two main home friendlies.

With the players lined up on the Meadow Lane pitch not far from the touchline in front of the Derek Pavis stand, they had their backs turned to the display on the centre circle. And right at the end, loud explosion from the cannons startled both sets of players, some of whom visibly flinched - cue much amusement from the crowd. 12. Approaching Easter Monday, I was quite excited about the game against Portsmouth. In the back of my mind, I did question the attitude of Notts as we approached the match. The thought of added fire to fuel the game certain may help, yet for me I felt it wasn’t required. Of course I’m referring to the comments made about spoiling/delaying their promotion party, it didn’t work did it? I just didn't feel that the message was the right focus, yet I've mentioned this on social media and across the Pride of Nottingham site so I shouldn't really repeat myself. That’s alright, I found the game to be quite flat for the most part. Early on I hoped to encourage the quietness of the stands, so I put a message up on FB and twitter – I don’t know why, it just seemed like Notts was quite ready for the kick off. I thought Portsmouth’s travelling support made a great amount of noise and the banter between the Kop and the Sirrel Stand (them) was amusing. It seemed like we were nervous as a club, but I’m sure this could explain what we watched play out on the pitch. The early penalty was just silly, I actually seemed to see it in slow motion and even now I believe we could have gotten away with the decision had Duffy not lifted his bloody foot. I don’t know, I kind of feel we see the same happen when we play a big team. I felt the exact same way when we last played Sheffield United and Coventry City back when we was a League One club. And it wasn’t that Notts overly played badly, I do believe Portsmouth just played in a way that limited us – they always seemed to manage to get the ball back. It was only after Jorge Grant scored that things in the stands seemed to wake up, ironically I laughed as I joined in ‘You only sing when you’re winning’ to the Pompey fans. The goal seemed to come out of nowhere, yet it sparked a brief spell where it seem like Notts could get another. I can’t fault any of the performances mind, Jon Stead was always isolated and we missed Shola Ameobi. The midfield was setup well enough to cope with Pompey’s style of play, and the defence just made the same minor errors we have seen all season and have repeatedly been punished by – yet really it was a deserved win for them. After the game I had that sinking feeling, like what will I do from here? It wasn’t remotely about Portsmouth fans celebrating. Just a case of the realisation that our own season had pretty much just ended. Bring on the 2017/2018 campaign! #COYP -- As always before the game I took to recording 'Meet the Fans', which I have also attached just in case you haven't seen it yet. Don't forget to subscribe!

  15. We've shared some nice milestones together as a set of fans, This includes our first 1k of posts, the first member of the month (also the one's which follow) each members who break a milestone in their own post count. The first time one of our articles reached 10 facebook likes, first 100 likes on our facebook page and many more which I may not of mentioned. Each one is very important to a growing community, I have to admit I do get easily excited about these things but it's for good reasons. Today, we reached one I am very, Very PROUD about. Pride of Nottingham now ranks no.1 on google if you was to search 'Pride of Nottingham' using the search engine. This for myself, well I'm delighted. I stupidly ran down stairs, called my parents and scooped poor Jake and Ava up and started singing 'We're number one'. Stupid for the reason it's a tad bit of weight for my knee! LOL I'm also happy for the reason when Tony first appeared and then briefly disappeared, he came back mentioning searching for us and this has always stuck with me. I'm happy to say if any of our dear friends searched, you shouldn't be scared by what you find at no. 1!! Thank you very much! GREAT COMMUNITY EFFORT. Joe
  16. Dear Community and Visitors, I'm really happy with how things are coming along, it's very impressive and it's the support which makes the foundations of Pride of Nottingham so solid. We're regularly writing content now, with the help of Joe and some of our other writers. I have arranged travel (I just need to book) for the Doncaster game, I need to know who's going and so if anyone is interested please let me know for sure here. £12.50 is a great deal and this can go along way for our community, it's something I have many hopes on and I can't wait. Super Ram plans to write up some articles based on football history, this will be very popular in my opinion and some of our audience on Facebook agrees. Come on Super Ram! You will not believe the amount of time I spend on trying to interact with people, it's worth it believe me because I greatly enjoy it. I plan to hold a Quiz Night, I also aim if popular to bring back the Raffle System and have some fun community days. We just need people regularly visiting, contributing and having a good time. I hope the majority of people who do visit leave feeling they've been given some sort quality, running a Fan Site is a learning curve for myself. It's much different from any other of the sites I do but it's also the one I am most proud of. This site is ours, it's for the people who support our club and residents of opposition teams who wish us well. If you would like to see Quiz Nights and so on, please let me know below. Suggestions are very important! A post a day keeps Notts Joe away! Seriously, Thanks ~Joe
  17. Why did you join Pride of Nottingham? I've been thinking a lot lately, as I spend time analyzing the site. I asked on Facebook how people found us, although the page doesn't really draw or catch peoples attentions enough to get a fair report back. I was, as I always am chuffed with the responses as they gave a good insight and I am always excited when someone share their opinion (it's the whole reason for the page). I'm now planning our content range and things I'd like in place, sadly I don't have all the time to do the things I'd like so for now I will rotate but the balance being right is the most important thing about running a site. If you wouldn't mind sharing, I'd like you to answer the above question. It will help me, it might also attract the attention of readers who may join or members who are still lurking into taking part. To summaries your opinions, I can enhance my plan and make sure it fits around the people who matter. Thanks for your support,
  18. I keep noticing comments on Facebook, a twitter follow also mentioned something regarding Craig Short and Ray trew. He's apologized about sacking him or something, listening to it now. Match Talk Thoughts?
