  1. Notts County put in one of their best performances of the season in front of the biggest Meadow Lane crowd of the 21st century in Saturday's 4-1 win over Crewe Alexandra. The Magpies endured a wobbly start as Shaun Miller drilled home on the rebound after just eight minutes for the breakthrough. However, Noor Husin struck back on the quarter-hour mark with a ferocious long-range effort before Elliott Hewitt put the hosts ahead just before half time. Hewitt then got his second of the game and County's third by finishing off a great team move on the hour mark and Derby County loanee Mason Bennett added the cherry on top late on. Relive the key moments of the superb win with the official Notts match highlights, which we've shared on Pride of Nottingham for you. 2. Notts County have earned a place in the hat for the fifth round of the FA Cup after holding Premier League side Swansea City to a 1-1 draw in Saturday's fourth-round match at Meadow Lane. The Magpies began brightly but their opponents soon stepped up a gear and had the hosts under the coash before finding the net on the stroke of half time through Luciano Narsingh. Kevin Nolan's charges were much improved in the second half, however, as Jorge Grant spurned three gilt-edged chances in quick succession. Eventually, County's pressure was rewarded as veteran striker Jon Stead turned home on the hour to draw the Magpies level and ultimately clinch a replay at the Liberty Stadium. 3. Notts County have fallen to a second League Two home defeat in a row after Crawley Town won 2-1 at Meadow Lane on Tuesday night. Jimmy Smith scored in the 25th minute to give the Red Devils the lead but Jon Stead levelled from the penalty spot 13 minutes in the second half. It looked as though the Magpies would claim a point but late drama saw Matty Virtue sent off before Ross Fitzsimons also saw red - and conceded a penalty - for kicking out at an opposition player. Josh Payne went on to convert his stoppage-time spot kick for their first ever win at Meadow Lane. 4. Notts County's superb unbeaten league home run has come to an end as Exeter City ran out 2-1 winners in Saturday's encounter at Meadow Lane. The high-flying Grecians, who are in the promotion mix, took the lead after just seven minutes through Jake Taylor. Jayden Stockley then doubled the visitors' lead just before half time as the Magpies struggled to click with several new players in the XI and in the absence of Matt Tootle and Richard Duffy. Jon Stead pulled a goal back for the hosts with a second-half penalty, won after Shola Ameobi was hauled down in the box, but sadly Notts could not go on to find an equaliser. Pride of Nottingham was at the game and interviewed a number of County fans prior to kickoff. Questions asked include how Alan Hardy and Kevin Nolan have done in their first 12 months, whether Matty Virtue will be a good replacement for Ryan Yates and whether they are happy with the transfer business conducted so far. 7. Notts County came from a goal down to salvage a 2-2 draw at Lincoln City in Saturday's League Two encounter at Sincil Bank. The Magpies had taken the lead through Jon Stead’s header in the 35th minute, which led to Lincoln manager Danny Cowley being sent to the stands for protesting a foul in the build-up. Lee Frecklington, however, equalised on his debut minutes later and Matt Green then put the Imps ahead. Jorge Grant, as is always the case, was the hero as he struck back with a powerful drive off the crossbar to secure a share of the spoils for Notts at Sincil Bank. Here are the highlights from the game, posted on the official Notts YouTube channel and shared by Pride of Nottingham. 8. Notts County have claimed a valuable point away at Lincoln City as Saturday's League Two encounter on Saturday finished as a 2-2 draw. 9. Notts County have reached the fourth round of the FA Cup thanks to a 1-0 win over Brentford. The Magpies more than matched their Championship opponents for the majority of the game at Griffin Park. Moments after a Bees effort bounced along the Notts goal-line, the visitors attacked at the other end and scored through a superb Jon Stead curled shot. The result sees Notts in the hat for Monday's draw, with the potential of a plum tie against a Premier League side up for grabs. 10. Notts County have claimed their second win in three League Two games after Jon Stead scored a late penalty to secure a 1-0 victory over Port Vale. The Magpies had lost 1-0 at Swindon Town two days earlier but bounced back by beating a Vale side that had notched up wins over Luton Town and Coventry City over the festive period. Kevin Nolan's charges had been denied several key decisions by the referee but still came up trumps when Marcus Harness's shove on Stead led to the awarding of a spot kick. The veteran striker smashed the ball into the top corner, leaving goalkeeper Ryan Boot no chance, to keep Notts well in the automatic promotion positions. Here are the highlights from the game, posted on the official Notts YouTube channel and shared by Pride of Nottingham. 11. Notts County kept up the pressure on League Two leaders Luton Town with a 1-0 win over Port Vale at Meadow Lane on New Year's Day. The encounter was settled by Jon Stead's penalty, awarded after the veteran striker was fouled in the box by defender Marcus Harness. Prior to their late spot kick, Kevin Nolan's side found themselves denied several key refereeing decisions, while Vale's Ryan Boot was the busier of the two goalkeepers. County's win over the Valiants puts them on 50 points, four behind table toppers Luton Town - who beat Lincoln City 4-2 - and seven clear of fourth place. 12. Jorge Grant and Lewis Alessandra scored a brace apiece as Notts County claimed an emphatic 4-1 win at Morecambe on Boxing Day. The first goal came after former Magpie Adam Campbell gave the ball away in his own half, culminating in Alessandra cutting the ball back for Grant to rifle home. The former Shrimper then turned scorer when a free kick was headed down for the winger to drive into the net on the half-volley. In the second half, Grant exchanged passes with Jon Stead before sliding the ball past Barry Roche for goal number three. Alessandra bagged his brace four minutes from time when he scored at the second attempt after the Morecambe keeper saved his close-range effort. There was time for a stunning consolation from Callum Lang at the death, but it was of little importance as Notts cruised to all three points. 13. Notts County's unbeaten home record this season was maintained in dramatic fashion on Saturday by overturning a three-goal deficit to claim a 3-3 draw with Cambridge United. Uche Ikpeazu and Jevani Brown's brace appeared to have given Shaun Derry's side an unassailable advantage heading into the latter stages of Saturday's League Two encounter. However, goals from Lewis Alessandra, Shaun Brisley and Jonathan Forte rescued a point against all odds. This ensured that the Magpies would remain unbeaten at home this season, as well as having lost just once at the Lane this calendar year, and kept them firmly in the automatic promotion slots. 14. Notts County have been held to a goalless draw by Grimsby Town in Saturday's League Two encounter at Meadow Lane. Neither side could break the deadlock in NG2, although the Mariners arguably had the best chance of the game as Jamille Matt forced a great save from Ross Fitzsimons during the first half. Despite sitting joint-top of League Two with Luton Town before kick-off, the Magpies were unable to register a shot on target during the game and have now slipped to two points behind the league leaders. However, Kevin Nolan's charges still remain a healthy four points clear of third and six clear of fourth. 15. Notts County have maintained their unbeaten home record but lost ground on League Two leaders Luton Town in Saturday's 0-0 draw with Grimsby Town at Meadow Lane. In a game of few genuine chances, the Magpies failed to muster a single shot on target against a Mariners side that defended well but likewise couldn't break down the hosts. The result sees Notts still in second, four points ahead of third-placed Exeter City, but with Luton winning 2-0 at Forest Green Rovers, the gap between first and second is now two points. 16. Notts County have emerged from the crunch clash with League Two leaders Luton Town with a very creditable point in Saturday's 1-1 draw at Kenilworth Road. The Magpies fell behind in the first half against the run of play when Johnny Mullins headed home to put the hosts ahead. However, Shola Ameobi hit back with a header of his own to earn a share of the spoils for County, who had goalkeeper Ross Fitzsimons to thank for a crucial point-blank save late on to preserve the draw. The result keeps the Hatters top of the table on goal difference, with Notts breathing down their necks on the same amount of points. 17. Notts County have reached the third round of the FA Cup thanks to a late 3-2 win over Oxford City in Saturday's second-round meeting at Meadow Lane. Richard Duffy's opener and Jon Stead's penalty saw the Magpies go ahead twice in the game. However, the visitors levelled the scores on both occasions, Rob Sinclair and Matt Paterson looking to have secured a replay for the National League South side. Jorge Grant would once again be County's hero and break City hearts, firing into the roof of the net from a yard out in the final minute to ensure that Notts were in the hat for round three. 18. Ryan Yates scored a dramatic last-gasp winner as Notts County kept pace with League Two leaders Luton Town with a 2-1 win over Colchester United. Shola Ameobi's penalty had put Kevin Nolan's charges in front in the second half after Michael Mandron was adjudged to have held back Yates in the U's box. Colchester wasted an opportunity to draw level with a spot kick of their own when Ryan Jackson was fouled by Jorge Grant but Mandron’s shot was saved by Magpies goalkeeper Ross Fitzsimons. Substitute Sanmi Odelusi then scored with his first touch in the 89th minute to seemingly give the U’s a share of the spoils. However, the 94th minute saw Yates head home Grant's corner to ensure that Notts remain level on points with the Hatters and preserved their unbeaten home record in the league. Pride of Nottingham was at Meadow Lane for the exhilarating victory and interviewed several Magpies fans ahead of kickoff. Questions asked include whether Jonathan Forte is surplus to requirements, whether Richard Duffy is a liability at the back, and what Notts should do in case Grant and Yates return to their parent club in January. 19. A dramatic late winner from Ryan Yates kept Notts County level on points with Luton Town at the top of League Two thanks to a 2-1 win over Colchester United at Meadow Lane. The hosts had gone in front in the 68th minute when Shola Ameobi clinically converted a penalty kick after Mikael Mandron was adjudged to have pulled back Yates inside the area. Mandron had the chance to make amends for his earlier mistake when Ryan Jackson was fouled by Jorge Grant, but saw his penalty superbly saved by Magpies goalkeeper Ross Fitzsimons. However, the U's did manage to draw level in the 89th minute when Mandron picked out the run of Sanmi Odelusi who kept his composure to slot into the bottom corner of the net. Notts did not let their heads drop and were rewarded in added time when Yates headed in at the back post from Grant's corner to send Meadow Lane barmy. 20. Notts County claimed three points the hard way on Saturday after requiring a 94th-minute winner to see off Colchester United at Meadow Lane. Shola Ameobi's second-half penalty had given the Magpies the lead but substitute Sanmi Odelusi looked to have salvaged a point for the U's with his 89th-minute strike. However, there was time for more drama as Ryan Yates glanced home a header to seal victory for Notts in a last-ditch 2-1 win which sent Meadow Lane barmy. The result keeps Kevin Nolan's level on points with League Two leaders Luton Town and five points above the playoff places, a great position to be in ahead of a busy festive period in December and early January. 21. Notts County have slipped off the top of the League Two table after their former striker Francois Zoko helped Yeovil Town claim a 1-1 draw at Huish Park on Tuesday night. The Magpies took the lead through substitute Jonathan Forte's well-taken 41st-minute opener and dominated their opponents for much of the second half. Zoko, however, converted a penalty 10 minutes from time after he was brought down in the area by Magpies defender Richard Duffy. The hosts were reduced to 10 men late when Sid Nelson was dismissed for an elbow on Ryan Yates but they nonetheless held on for a share of the spoils. County's slip-up allowed Luton Town to return to the summit on goal difference as they claimed a 3-0 win over Carlisle United. 22. Notts County continue to set the pace at the top of the League Two table thanks to a 3-1 win over Cheltenham Town on Saturday. Jorge Grant opened the scoring on the half-hour mark when Jon Stead's layoff was convincingly rifled home by the Nottingham Forest loanee. However, the Robins restored parity against the run of play when Carl Winchester was allowed space to unleash a low shot goalwards that snuck beyond Ross Fitzsimons. Kevin Nolan's side rode their luck early in the second half but eventually came good as Grant doubled his tally with a free kick. Just a few minutes later, Shaun Brisley added a third to preserve Notts' great home league form and top spot in the table. Pride of Nottingham was at Meadow Lane for the game and interviewed several Magpies fans ahead of kickoff. Questions asked include what the fans thought of the club having had the most managers over the last 20 years and Alan Shearer's comments regarding Kevin Nolan's future at the club. 25. Notts County put in one of the best performances in recent years in a 4-2 hammering of Bristol Rovers at Meadow Lane on Friday night to reach the second round of the FA Cup. The visitors had led 2-0 after the first 15 minutes thanks to goals from Liam Sercombe and Stuart Sinclair to seemingly set up a long, torrid evening for the Black and White Army. However, the Magpies rallied round as a quickfire brace from Ryan Yates edged them level by the break, setting up a second half in which the hosts had their opponents under siege. Ultimately a further two goals, from Jon Stead and Jorge Grant, saw the League One side knocked out of the competition, while Notts are in the hat for round two.
