  1. Ross Fitzsimons has arrived at Notts, hopefully he's good enough to replace Adam Collin (or at least keep him on his toes). I'm pleased we signed someone in this position, as most will know I don't rate Collin - not like I used to do. Share your thoughts below!

  4. Right-back Wesley Atkinson has joined Notts County on a one-year deal with an option to extend… The former West Bromwich Albion youth graduate has been on trial with the club throughout July and impressed in the friendlies to become Notts’ 15th summer signing. The 20-year-old also scored at the weekend finishing off a flowing move against Alfreton Town where he played in a more central role. Atkinson, who has played a majority of his games for Albion’s Under 21s side also gained experience for Cambridge United on loan last season, playing twice. The energetic full-back also has an eye for goal having scoring twice in the Under 21s Premier League and also scored once in 13 appearances in the Premier League Reserve League. He was released by the Baggies earlier in the summer and will be hoping to continue to impress to force his way into Manager Ricardo Moniz’s first team plans this year. Fans can sponsor Wes’ full kit, training kit and boots and socks by contacting the club’s Commercial Team on 0115 9557 241 or e-mail: sales@nottscountyfc.co.uk Read more at http://www.nottscountyfc.co.uk/news/article/wesley-atkinson-notts-county-west-bromwich-albion-2558291.aspx#xDWhUuJDr6PTJHwk.99
  5. Not confirmed yet, but I think RT has already said we are just waiting on the paperwork. This signing worries me a little. We are not exactly light in the CM department, and although this guy has played for Ajax, he has also played for Gillingham in L2 and made 1 appearance before being released. Bit harsh to judge a player before he's signed, but....Mark Fotheringham v2?
  6. http://www.nottscountyfc.co.uk/news/article/scott-loach-notts-county-rotherham-united-2548888.aspx Good signing IMO. 2 year deal.
  7. http://www.nottinghampost.com/Notts-County-interested-Aston-Villa-striker/story-26860435-detail/story.html Two names being mentioned by the Red Rag as possible Notts Targets. I'm not 100% sold on Burke, but I guess it depends on wage demands. Of course I don't know much of Valencic, so will be interested if this one comes off
  8. I see Julian Jenner has finally put pen to paper. How quick are our wingers going to be? Who isn't getting excited about this new season because it appears plenty of people are? U pies
  9. adam campbell and kyle da silva have both signed up and are now official ncfc players! thoughts?
  10. Solid signing who will hopefully lead the line for us this year. Where does it leave Spencer though? Maybe Moniz really does want his own team and Jimmy might not get alot of game time? Is Stead here to partner him? Cant see Stead coming here without a promise of game time tbh. The Magpies are delighted to announce the signing of striker Jon Stead on a two-year deal subject to a medical… The 32-year-old forward arrives from Huddersfield Town and brings a wealth of experience and goals having played in the top tier of the English game for Blackburn Rovers and Sheffield United. There he helped Rovers stay clear of relegation in 2004, whilst collecting a play-off medal from Town at the end of the season after his 18 goals that season. Stead has also played for Sunderland, Ipswich Town and Bristol City, commanding over four million in transfer fees and was also named Powerade Player of the Month for his form for Derby County on loan after three goals in as many games in the Championship. The 6’2 Englishman was on loan at Bradford City last season in League One, scoring most notably against Premier League sides Chelsea and Sunderland in their brilliant FA Cup run where they reached the semi-final stage, putting in a man of the match display at Stamford Bridge. In total last term, he scored 11 times in 40 appearances, including a goal against the Magpies at Meadow Lane back in March and boasts over 100 goals in a career which started with his hometown club Huddersfield back in 2002. Stead has also represented his country for the Under 21s, scoring once in 11 appearances. 11. We are being linked with a very promising striker, no doubt the one that Mr Trew had mentioned having played in the Premier League. He's quite highly rated, strong on the ball and enjoyed playing successful reserve team football. I think he could be good signing for us, I can see him scoring within League One and Two and if we could capture his signature it would be a good addition to the squad. What do you folks think?
  12. So the newest editon has signed for Notts! thoughts?
  13. Reported by NEP: Sounds promising. I'm glad Moniz is getting to use his European links.
  14. Notts County are delighted to confirm the signing of left-back Rhys Sharpe from Derby County… The 20-year, who can also play on the wing, has put pen-to-paper on a two-year deal. The Northern Ireland Under 21 international, is yet to make his professional debut for the Rams, but has gained experience on loan earlier this year with Shrewsbury Town, playing three times. The Nottingham-born player is the club’s second new signing following Scot Bennett who arrived from Exeter City. Read more at http://www.nottscountyfc.co.uk/news/article/notts-county-rhys-sharpe-derby-county-2478301.aspx#yxpXl2oAy2A0jpq0.99 Seems promising, but how many 'young' left backs do we need to try? So we have Adams, Cranston, got rid of Newton and now Sharpe? I would have thought right back and another centre back would have been more of an issue!
  15. http://www.nottscountyfc.co.uk/news/article/notts-county-scot-bennett-exeter-city-2471893.aspx Scot Bennett. Versatile player hoping to help us get promotion back to League One.
  16. Well either he was deemed not good enough for Notts or we really are shafted when Mansfailed beat us to players like this. On reputation alone in the lower leagues, he would have looked good at Notts. Let's hope Moniz has bigger fish to fry.
  17. I thought someone would have mentioned this by now but for those that don't know Roy Carroll has signed for another year. Great news
  18. Two more on board apparently. Not sure who has signed them though. Hart, A.Trew or still in the pipeline from SD??? Premier League duo arrive at Meadow Lane on loan... Notts County have completed a double loan signing with forward Graham Burke and defensive midfielder Jordan Williams arriving at Meadow Lane from Premier League sides Aston Villa and Liverpool respectively. Republic of Ireland Under-21 international Burke, who joins on an emergency loan deal until the end of the season, has previously spent time away from Villa Park on loan at Shrewsbury Town last season. Williams, who has also been capped at Under-21 international, for Wales, made his professional debut for Liverpool earlier this season, coming on as a second half substitute in the Capital One Cup match against Middlesbrough in September. The 19-year-old joins Notts on a youth loan, also until the end of the season, with both players available to make their debuts in the Sky Bet League 1 game at home to Scunthorpe United this weekend. 19. Winger signed on loan from Brighton till end of season. On the bench at Fleetwood. Anyone know of him? Seen him play?
  20. Cranston has gone out on loan, this deal is a swop it seems. I liked Cranston, lets hope this lad is better (as it seems we might sign him permanently at the end of the season). Thoughts?
  21. Link to - BREAKING STORY I especially like the comment 'blow us out the water' but would this signing come at a price? Despite the 24 year old having played some top teams, plus been loaned to some. He doesn't have a record as such when it comes to goal scoring, however there fans which rate him within Europe. Thoughts?
  22. He had suffered quite a bad injury which required specialist treatment, however like Adams he is highly rated. His youth days he was like with a couple of move to Premiership sides, all nothing ever materialized. Not a bad player, thoughts?
