<p>
	Notts County fell to a 2-1 loss to Barnet last weekend, the hosts taking the lead through Enzio Boldewijn but throwing it away as Callum Reynolds and Simeon Akinola gave the visitors all three points.
</p>

<p>
	Boldewijn put the hosts in front after just nine minutes with a long-range strike before Jim O'Brien went close to extending the lead for Neal Ardley's side.
</p>

<p>
	However, the visitors replied as the half-hour mark approached when Callum Reynolds headed in from close range after the Magpies had failed to deal with a set-piece.
</p>

<p>
	Connell Rawlinson and Kristian Dennis had chances to restore Notts' lead but, after Akinola turned past Sam Graham and clipped a finish beyond Sam Slocombe, it left the Magpies having to wait a few more days for their first win.

	Notts County's first home game of the 2019-20 season ended in a 1-1 draw with Stockport County at Meadow Lane.
</p>

<p>
	The Magpies were eager to quickly put the opening-day loss at Eastleigh behind them with the second game of the National League campaign coming just three days later.
</p>

<p>
	Notts drew first blood in the 36th minute of the encounter when Jim O'Brien, on the bounce, struck a fierce effort into the bottom corner of the Stockport net.
</p>

<p>
	However, Neal Ardley's side could not hold onto the lead as Elliott Osbourne latched onto a fine pass from substitute Nyal Bell to slot beneath Sam Slocombe midway through the second half.

<p>
	Notts County's stint in the abyss of non-league began with a 1-0 defeat away at Eastleigh FC which also saw two Magpies players sent off.
</p>

<p>
	Although the main issue which gripped the club for the summer - the takeover - was now a memory and a spate of signings was made after the embargo was lifted, the result nonetheless showed that there's a big job at hand on the pitch.
</p>

<p>
	Reda Johnson headed Eastleigh in front just before the quarter-hour mark after getting on the end of Jack Payne's corner, and although Notts had chances to level things up, they could not find a way past home goalkeeper Max Stryjek.

<p>
	Shortly after a block by Johnson thwarted Nathan Tyson, the Magpies were reduced to 10 men when Michael Doyle was sent off, and debutant Damien McCrory followed his teammate down the tunnel in stoppage-time.

<p>
	The inevitable has finally been confirmed. After nine months of mostly hell interspersed with slivers of hope, right into midway through the final match of the season, Notts County have been relegated from the Football League.
</p>

<p>
	That it went into the final day meant that sliver of hope, that "what if" always stayed, but as the old adage goes, "it's the hope that kills you", so now it's done and there is a little more clarity going forward, the relevant process of fixing this catastrophe can begin.
</p>

<p>
	Notts County's final game in League Two - for the time being, we hope - was a 3-1 loss at Swindon Town, and for a period, with the Magpies leading through Kane Hemmings' penalty and Macclesfield a goal down at Cambridge, that hope resurfaced again.
</p>

<p>
	But then, the culmination of the previous 45 games, all the off-the-pitch issues, the old problems that have beset the Notts team all season, and the reality of the permutations of the Macclesfield fixture - they had something to play for, the visitors didn't - meant that hope soon evaporated.

<p>
	Notts County managed to claim all three points against Grimsby Town on Saturday as they ran out 2-1 winners at Meadow Lane to take their fight for League Two survival to the final day of the season.
</p>

<p>
	The breakthrough for the Magpies came in the second half when a cross from Mitch Rose took a deflection before finding its way through to Craig Mackail-Smith, who touched it into the net at the far post.
</p>

<p>
	Harry Clifton then went on to turn the ball into his own net to make the game safe for Neal Ardley's side, before Alex Whitmore scored a consolation six minutes into stoppage time.
</p>

<p>
	With Macclesfield Town having won their game away at Port Vale, however, Notts are two points adrift of safety going into their 46th game.
</p>

<p>
	They must win at Swindon Town and hope the Silkmen lose their next match to survive in the Football League.
</p>

<p>
	Pride of Nottingham was at Meadow Lane for the occasion and was on hand to take photos of fans.

	Notts County managed to claim all three points against Grimsby Town on Saturday as they ran out 2-1 winners at Meadow Lane to take their fight for League Two survival to the final day of the season.
</p>

<p>
	The breakthrough for the Magpies came in the second half when a cross from Mitch Rose took a deflection before finding its way through to Craig Mackail-Smith, who touched it into the net at the far post.
</p>

<p>
	Harry Clifton then went on to turn the ball into his own net to make the game safe for Neal Ardley's side, before Alex Whitmore scored a consolation six minutes into stoppage time.
</p>

<p>
	With Macclesfield Town having won their game away at Port Vale, however, Notts are two points adrift of safety going into their 46th game and must win at Swindon Town and hope the Silkmen lose their next match to survive.
</p>

<p>
	Fridays's League Two kick-off saw Notts County host MK Dons at Meadow Lane and once again lose 2-1 to the Dons.
</p>

<p>
	Neal Ardley's side managed to hold onto a goalless draw at half time, but as the second half began the pressure was mounting as MK dons striker David Wheeler scored a goal in the 62nd minute.
</p>

<p>
	The Magpies tried to get back into the game, but Chuks Aneke wrapped the game up in the 85th minute with a solo goal. He picked the ball up in his own half and beat Ben Barclay before smashing it into the net.
</p>

<p>
	Ben Barclay scored a last minute goal in extra time, but it wasn't enough and the match ended in a 2-1 loss giving MK Dons all 3 points.

	With three games left in League Two this season, Notts County remain in dire straits as they lost 2-1 against MK Dons at Meadow Lane.
</p>

<p>
	Second-half strikes from David Wheeler and Chuks Aneke consigned Neal Ardley's side to the foot of the Football League once again.
</p>

<p>
	Ben Barclay netted a late consolation for the beleaguered Magpies in injury time but it came way too late for it to have a meaningful impact.

	Notts County put in a woeful performance as Crewe Alexandra ran out 3-0 winners over the Magpies in Saturday's League Two clash at Gresty Road.
</p>

<p>
	Motherwell loanee Taylor-Sinclair got the scoring underway with his header into the far corner of Alex Palmer's net from Charlie Kirk's delivery following a short corner routine.
</p>

<p>
	Although Notts had a couple of chances, the Railwaymen doubled their lead on 77 when Ryan Wintle turned in Perry Ng's pull-back from close range.
</p>

<p>
	Substitute James Jones then saw his shot deflect off Sam Stubbs and loop over Palmer for the hosts' third seven minutes before the end.
</p>

<p>
	Pride of Nottingham vlogger ARLukomski was at the game to watch proceedings.

<p>
	Notts County ended Saturday level on points with 22nd-placed Yeovil Town in League Two after rescuing a 2-2 draw against Northampton Town at Meadow Lane.
</p>

<p>
	Mitchell Rose had put the home side ahead with a long-range effort not long before the half hour mark after Kane Hemmings had seen his initial effort blocked.
</p>

<p>
	The Cobblers, however, drew level just a minute before the break, Daniel Powell turning home Sam Hoskins' cross.
</p>

<p>
	The start of the second half then went completely pear-shaped for the Magpies as a defensive lapse culminating in Ryan Schofield being sent off for bringing down Daniel Powell and Sam Hoskins scoring from the ensuing set piece.
</p>

<p>
	Neal Ardley's side didn't take long to draw level courtesy of Hemmings, who slotted home after 52 minutes following Jon Stead's pass, and keeper Ross Fitzsimons then saved well from Hoskins and Sam Foley in the closing stages as County clung on.

<p>
	Notts County were beaten 1-0 by Exeter City on Saturday in cruel yet wholly predictable circumstances.
</p>

<p>
	The League Two encounter at Meadow Lane saw the Grecians fall down to ten men yet they still went on to win, in injury time of all times.
</p>

<p>
	Nicky Law was the match winner, stooping in to head in a Donovan Wilson cross three minutes into stoppage time. to crush Magpies hopes.
</p>

<p>
	With just seven games to go this season, Notts are six points adrift of 22nd-placed Yeovil Town, while Macclesfield Town have a game in hand to pull even further clear of Neal Ardley's side.
</p>

<p>
	Notts County picked up another point in a dour stalemate against Morecambe in Saturday's League Two encounter at Meadow Lane.
</p>

<p>
	Neither side was particularly impressive, with crosses from Matt Tootle and Enzio Boldewijn the most that the Magpies could conjure up in the first half.
</p>

<p>
	At the other end, the Shrimps saw defender Steven Old head over the bar at the back post after connecting with a Richie Bennett cross.
</p>

<p>
	The second half was little better, although Boldewijn did test Morecambe goalkeeper Mark Halstead after being played in by David Vaughan and Mitch Rose had a go on the rebound.
</p>

<p>
	Aaron Collins did force Ryan Schofield into a good save at the other end but in the end it was a dour 0-0 honours even.

<p>
	Notts County have been diabolical all season (save for like five or six games) but Saturday really took the biscuit as the League Two trip to Cheltenham Town ended in a humiliating 4-1 defeat.
</p>

<p>
	The hosts' opener at the Jonny Rocks Stadium came just before the half hour mark when good work on the right from Ben Tozer and Kevin Dawson culminated in Charlie Raglan crossing for Will Boyle to head home.
</p>

<p>
	Cheltenham then doubled their lead on 36 minutes when Billy Waters broke into the area, was taken down by Craig Mackail-Smith, and Luke Varney drilled the resulting penalty low to goalkeeper Ryan Schofield's right.
</p>

<p>
	Worse was to come as Waters added a third after the break, and although Kane Hemmings did get one back from the penalty spot, Tyrone Barnett added a fourth shortly before full time to kill Notts off.
</p>

<p>
	ARLukomski was at the game, once again suffering beyond how a normal football supporter should suffer - here's his account of the day.

<p>
	Notts County delivered yet another poor result as they drew 0-0 with Port Vale on Saturday, which keeps the Magpies five points adrift of safety.
</p>

<p>
	The game was dour and unispiring, with the 22nd-placed Valiants putting in a stronger performance than the beleaguered hosts at Meadow Lane.
</p>

<p>
	Vale pressed their game on the hosts early on in the game and dominated proceedings, with Tom Pope seeing a close-range header ruled out for offside and Tom Conlon hit the crossbar from 25 yards.
</p>

<p>
	In the end, the spoils were shared, just one point in the kind of fixture that Notts should be winning if they honestly want to survive relegation.
</p>

<p>
	Pride of Nottingham vlogger ARLukomski was at Meadow Lane to endure yet another deflating weekend, here is an account of his afternoon.

<p>
	It just wasn't to last, was it?
</p>

<p>
	Notts County's good recent run of form, which culminated in the superb 1-0 win over Mansfield, had us to the point we could come out of the League Two relegation zone with victory over Newport.
</p>

<p>
	Instead, revert to type. A 4-1 home defeat to a side 15th in the standings and we're still bottom.
</p>

<p>
	Fraser Franks opened the scoring before a Jamille Matt brace put the Exiles 3-1 ahead at the break despite Kane Hemmings's early equaliser.
</p>

<p>
	And in true Magpie style, any hopes of possibly launching a comeback, snuffed out as Padraig Amond scored directly after the restart in the second half.
</p>

<p>
	Pride of Nottingham vlogger ARLukomski was at Meadow Lane to experience his hopes crushed like everyone else in the home stands - here's his account of the evening.

<p>
	Saturday's early League Two kickoff saw Notts County host Mansfield Town at Meadow Lane and claim their first league win over the Stags in 13 years in a 1-0 win.
</p>

<p>
	Neal Ardley's side began brightly before taking the lead in the 19th minute when Rob Milsom's cross was touched into the path of Mackail-Smith by Virgil Gomis, and the on-loan Wycombe man volleyed home from 20 yards.
</p>

<p>
	Notts continued to push forward as Jon Stead went close with a header which went just wide, while Enzio Boldeiwjn had a pop but it was straight at Mansfield goalkeeper Jordan Smith.
</p>

<p>
	Although David Flitcroft's side stepped up a gear in the second half, with Nicky Ajose and CJ Hamilton both trying their luck to no avail, the visitors never really threatened Magpies loanee stopper Ryan Schofield, with not one shot on target registered.

	Indeed, Notts had a great chance to kill the game off late on when Kane Hemmings just failed to connect with a Mitch Rose cross, but unlike last season, this time Notts held film and claimed all three points to initially move to one point of safety - now two - with one game in hand on the two sides above them.

<p>
	Saturday's early League Two kickoff saw Notts County host Mansfield Town at Meadow Lane and claim their first league win over the Stags in 13 years in a 1-0 win.
</p>

<p>
	Neal Ardley's side began brightly before taking the lead in the 19th minute when Rob Milsom's cross was touched into the path of Mackail-Smith by Virgil Gomis, and the on-loan Wycombe man volleyed home from 20 yards.
</p>

<p>
	Notts continued to push forward as Jon Stead went close with a header which went just wide, while Enzio Boldeiwjn had a pop but it was straight at Mansfield goalkeeper Jordan Smith.
</p>

<p>
	Although David Flitcroft's side stepped up a gear in the second half, with Nicky Ajose and CJ Hamilton both trying their luck to no avail, the visitors never really threatened Magpies loanee stopper Ryan Schofield, with not one shot on target registered.
</p>

<p>
	Indeed, Notts had a great chance to kill the game off late on when Kane Hemmings just failed to connect with a Mitch Rose cross, but unlike last season, this time Notts held film and claimed all three points to initially move to one point of safety - now two - with one game in hand on the two sides above them.

<p>
	Following two weeks off and some deft reinforcements in the January transfer window, Notts County put in a much improved performance in Saturday's 1-1 draw with League Two promotion chasers Lincoln City at Meadow Lane.
</p>

<p>
	The Magpies began superbly and were ahead after just two minutes when they won a penalty with their first meaningful attack, Harry Toffolo fouling Jon Stead, who was trying to get on the end of Mitch Rose's cross.
</p>

<p>
	Referee Antony Coggins pointed to the spot and the veteran striker, who had missed a penalty in front of the Kop against Bury during the festive period, made no mistake from the spot this time around.
</p>

<p>
	However, just before the break, Bruno Andrade drew the visitors level with a 20-yard strike that goalkeeper Ryan Schofield could not keep out, and come full time, the scoreline remained as such for a share of the spoils.
