<p>
	Lewis Alessandra has claimed that nobody within the Notts County camp has given up on the prospect of automatic promotion from League Two.
</p>

<p>
	The Magpies sit seven points adrift of the top three with five games remaining in the season and have been in bad form over the last few weeks, meaning many fans have all but settled for the playoffs at best.
</p>

<p>
	However, Alessandra is adamant that, with 15 points left to play for and the tightness and inconsistency among even the top teams of the division, anything can happen.
</p>

<p>
	"We have five big games left and we're raring to go. If we win a couple hopefully the picture will change in our favour," he told the official Notts website.
</p>

<p>
	"This league is mad, everyone can beat everyone. Three of our last five games are at home, where we are strong, so not one of us thinks it's over.
</p>

<p>
	"We were disappointed not to win at home over Easter and we knew it was going to be difficult at Accrington but it was still disappointing to lose on the day because we had some good chances.
</p>

<p>
	"Coventry will come here looking for a reaction after losing at home on Monday but this is our home and we are strong here."

<p>
	Notts County boss Kevin Nolan says he has not heard back yet from the FA or EFL about whether he will face a touchline ban for being sent to the stands against Wycombe Wanderers.
</p>

<p>
	The Magpies boss was dismissed by referee Ben Toner during the goalless draw on Good Friday at Meadow Lane after protesting a decision not to award Shola Ameobi a penalty in the first half.
</p>

<p>
	If one does come his way, however, Nolan says he will dispute it and is confident of having it overturned.
</p>

<p>
	“I haven’t heard from them as yet,” he told the Nottingham Post.
</p>

<p>
	“But I don’t expect to be. If I do I will be appealing it because I think I have good grounds for it to be turned over once they hear my side.
</p>

<p>
	“I know I was in the right and the decisions I was asking for, the referee got wrong. There was no clarity from the fourth official, which is what he is supposed to be there for.
</p>

<p>
	“If you had watched me on Monday (against Accrington), there was no reaction to anything because the fourth official managed the bench as well as being in constant contact with the referee throughout.
</p>

<p>
	“I thought they were magnificent and I told them that after the game.”

<p>
	Notts County boss Kevin Nolan has warned that Coventry City will be desperate to bounce back from their 6-2 home loss to Yeovil Town when they come to Meadow Lane on Saturday.
</p>

<p>
	The Magpies, who sit fifth in the League Two table, will be taking on a side just two places and two points behind them.
</p>

<p>
	In addition, the Sky Blues - who beat Notts 3-0 in the season opener at the Ricoh Arena - boast the best defensive record in the division with 38 goals conceded in 40 matches.
</p>

<p>
	"You have to expect a reaction from them after the result they had on Monday," Nolan told the official Notts site.
</p>

<p>
	"Mark Robins is a good manager and a lovely fella. He and his players will make sure they get a response because they will be hurting.
</p>

<p>
	"But I want a reaction from my players after losing at Accrington on Monday and not winning our last home game.
</p>

<p>
	"Coventry have been fantastic away from home and still have one of the best defensive records in the league so I expect it to be a tight game.
</p>

<p>
	"We are going to need people to be confident, consistent and patient because our opportunities may not come until the last 10 minutes."

<p>
	<strong>What's been happening in League Two over the last week?</strong>
</p>

<p>
	<strong>Here is Pride of Nottingham's round-up of the biggest League Two news from the last seven days.</strong>
</p>

<p>
	- Unseasonal weather played havoc with Easter Monday's fixture list with several football matches, including the League Two games of Chesterfield against Newport County and Morecambe against Cambridge United.
</p>

<p>
	- Luton Town midfielder Luke Berry was carried off on a stretcher two minutes into Friday's 2-1 loss away to Colchester United, the Hatters later confirming that the player dislocated his left ankle and fractured his fibula.
</p>

<p>
	- The EFL has asked Accrington Stanley owner Andy Holt to explain a bonus scheme where he buys the players burgers if they win as the arrangement is not written into the players' contracts, as per the EFL regulations.
</p>

<p>
	- Accrington goalkeeper Aaron Chapman went to hospital as a precaution after being involved in a car crash before Monday's win over Notts County.
</p>

<p>
	- Accrington striker Billy Kee, Cheltenham forward Mohamed Eisa and Wycombe striker Adebayo Akinfenwa will contest the League Two Player of the Season award.
</p>

<p>
	- The League Two Team of the Season was also named, featuring the following players: Lee Burge (Coventry), Dan Potts (Luton), Alan Sheehan (Luton), Jordan Willis (Coventry), Jack Stacey (Luton), Michael Bostwick (Lincoln), Sean McConville (Accrington), Luke Berry (Luton), Adebayo Akinfenwa (Wycombe), Danny Hylton (Luton), and Billy Kee (Accrington).
</p>

<p>
	- In addition, Accrington boss John Coleman was named League Two Manager of the Year.
</p>

<p>
	- The FA released its list of how much money clubs paid in agent fees over the last 12 months -  Coventry City were top of League Two (£113,620), Mansfield Town second (£85,940), Chesterfield third (£80,477) and then Notts County on £76,426.

<p>
	Jorge Grant has been named in FourFourTwo magazine's top 50 EFL players of the season.
</p>

<p>
	The 23-year-old, on loan at Notts County from Nottingham Forest, has scored 18 goals and claimed eight assists in 50 games in all competition this term.
</p>

<p>
	Although Grant's form has tailed off since the turn of the year, with just two goals in 2018, his blistering form in the first half of the campaign has nonetheless seen him claim a place in FFT's rankings.
</p>

<p>
	"This Forest youngster is loving life on loan from across the Trent, netting 16 goals from a wide-left position in the opening half of the season," the outlet wrote.
</p>

<p>
	“With fine close control, he temps full-backs into making some naive challenges and also boasts a nice stash of reverse passes.
</p>

<p>
	However, Grant's supreme match-winning attribute is his knack of sneaking in at the back stick to tuck away those loose balls."

<p>
	Notts County boss Kevin Nolan has expressed his delight in being able to welcome Michael O’Connor back to action.
</p>

<p>
	The midfielder played the last 13 minutes of <a href="https://prideofnottingham.co.uk/home/reports/match-report-notts-county-automatic-promotion-hopes-in-tatters-following-loss-to-accrington-stanley-r2587/" rel="">Easter Monday’s 1-0 defeat to Accrington Stanley</a> when he came off the bench to replace Noor Husin.
</p>

<p>
	O’Connor was playing a first-team Notts game for the first time since last April when he suffered a serious knee injury in a 3-1 defeat to Portsmouth.
</p>

<p>
	“I think I’ve spoken a few times about Occy and how amazing he has been with the staff,” Nolan told the Nottingham Post.
</p>

<p>
	“Credit to Tom Hallas the physio and his team who have worked tirelessly with Michael.
</p>

<p>
	“With the way Occy has gone about his rehab it is an absolute testament to the lad and our medical staff that he was able to have 15 minutes.
</p>

<p>
	“I am delighted for him and it has given me another selection headache. But it’s a massive bonus to have your captain back.
</p>

<p>
	“I was happy with him and you can see he brings that character and he got involved in a little few bits and bobs.
</p>

<p>
	“But it’s going to take him time and that’s why we wanted him to play those minutes because it’s another tick in the box.
</p>

<p>
	“Hopefully going into the next three or four weeks we will see a lot more of him. He will feature a lot more and regularly.”

<p>
	Kevin Nolan has claimed that Notts County would be “in a much better place” had Mason Bennett’s loan move from Derby County not been thwarted by injury.
</p>

<p>
	The striker joined the Magpies on the last day of the January transfer window but was forced to return to Pride Park after rupturing his hamstring on his first start for the club against Barnet.
</p>

<p>
	“You only have to look at the impact Mason had when he came on against Crewe, got his goal and hit the bar,” Nolan told the Nottingham Post.
</p>

<p>
	“He gave us something different to what we didn’t have. He is such a quality player and for his injury to happen in his first full start for us was a devastating blow.
</p>

<p>
	“If we had him, we would have been in a lot better place because of the quality I would have had at my disposal.
</p>

<p>
	“He gave us that lightning pace, and he was clever with it. He could carry the ball too and he was our main target in January.
</p>

<p>
	“We had to wait until the final hour to sign him, then a week later he is going back to Derby.
</p>

<p>
	“It was incredibly frustrating but that’s gone now. But I still feel we have a good enough squad to achieve what we want. What we’ve got to do is prove it.”

<p>
	Kevin Nolan has refused to concede defeat in the chase for automatic promotion from League Two despite Notts County's latest bad result.
</p>

<p>
	The Magpies are now seven points behind third-placed Wycombe Wanderers following their <a href="https://prideofnottingham.co.uk/home/reports/match-report-notts-county-automatic-promotion-hopes-in-tatters-following-loss-to-accrington-stanley-r2587/" rel="">1-0 loss at tabletopping Accrington Stanley on Easter Monday</a>.
</p>

<p>
	Mark Hughes's goal settled the contest in Lancashire where Notts hit the bar through Jonathan Forte, while Matty Virtue and Jorge Grant also squandered good opportunities.
</p>

<p>
	“We’ve got 15 points to play for and if we get all 15 then who knows what can happen?” Nolan told the Nottingham Post.
</p>

<p>
	“You can never stop believing but what we’ve got to do is keep doing what we have been doing all season and wait for the next one to come along.
</p>

<p>
	“On Saturday that seven point gap could become a four-point gap and then the week after it could be one if we do our business.
</p>

<p>
	“All we have got to do is get back to what we were earlier in the season. But I thought there were lots of positives to come from the game. I was just disappointed that we didn’t test their keeper enough.”

<p>
	Kevin Nolan is looking forward to pit his wits against his friend John Coleman as Notts County head up to Accrington Stanley for Easter Monday's League Two clash.
</p>

<p>
	The Magpies are preparing for their second consecutive game against promotion-chasing opposition following the <a href="https://prideofnottingham.co.uk/home/reports/match-report-notts-county-held-to-goalless-draw-by-wycombe-wanderers-r2579/" rel="">goalless draw with Wycombe Wanderers at Meadow Lane on Good Friday</a>.
</p>

<p>
	"I'm really looking forward to pitting my wits against John," Nolan told the official Notts site.
</p>

<p>
	"He is a fantastic fella and someone I enjoy playing against even though he gets the better of me the majority of the time!
</p>

<p>
	"He has got the right people in and they know how to win games. They are all in it together and they do things the right way.
</p>

<p>
	"He has been there for a long time and done fantastically well at that club. They're firing on all cylinders and we have to make sure we are ready.
</p>

<p>
	"We will be analysing their strengths and weaknesses to hopefully come back with a positive result so we can start another run.
</p>

<p>
	"There will be changes because of the turnaround and because we want to keep everyone fit, ready and raring to go. With the squad we have at our disposal, we have the ability to do that."

<p>
	Notts County defender Shaun Brisley has described the <a href="https://prideofnottingham.co.uk/home/reports/match-report-notts-county-held-to-goalless-draw-by-wycombe-wanderers-r2579/" rel="">stalemate with Wycombe Wanderers</a> as "frustrating" given his side's toothlessness in the final third.
</p>

<p>
	The Chairboys came to Meadow Lane very much intent on leaving with a point and the Magpies could not break their defence down in an uninspiring, rain-sodden encounter.
</p>

<p>
	"It was frustrating," Brisley told the official Notts site after the Good Friday encounter.
</p>

<p>
	"Wycombe came here with a game plan, stuck to it well and took the rhythm out of our play. We were good out of possession but didn't have that edge in the final third.
</p>

<p>
	"They are the best team away from home in the league so we respect the draw. It's a point gained which is nothing to get down about."
</p>

<p>
	Speaking about the Easter Monday trip to Accrington Stanley, Brisley said: "It’s another tough encounter. We're playing all the teams around us, which is good at this time of year.
</p>

<p>
	"If we can go there and get the three points it edges us towards where we want to be in the final stages of the season.
</p>

<p>
	"Accrington have done well again this season and are in a rich vein of form, but if we play to the best of our ability we can come away with the win.
</p>

<p>
	"There are still points to pick up and the automatic promotion race is about who is going to finish the strongest.
</p>

<p>
	"We just hope we can play well, like we did against Wycombe, and get the wins we need."
</p>

<p>
	Notts County boss Kevin Nolan has claimed that he was sent to the stands for “waving his arms” during his side's <a href="https://prideofnottingham.co.uk/home/reports/match-report-notts-county-held-to-goalless-draw-by-wycombe-wanderers-r2579/" rel="">League Two home goalless draw with Wycombe Wanderers</a>.
</p>

<p>
	The Magpies manager was left fuming by Ben Toner’s decision not to award a penalty after Shola Ameobi was pulled down by Adam El-Abd in the Chairboys box.
</p>

<p>
	Having previously been given a talking to by the official, Nolan was then banished to the Derek Pavis stand where he watched the rest of the game in the directors’ box.
</p>

<p>
	“It was laughable and he sent me off for waving my arms,” he told the Nottingham Post.
</p>

<p>
	“When the penalty was not given all I heard the fourth official say was that ‘he has to go the stands’.
</p>

<p>
	“I think he was looking for a bit of a name for himself because he sent Kevin Nolan to the stands. That’s how I’ve seen it because he was very arrogant all day.
</p>

<p>
	“They just haven’t managed the situation and when you’ve got two teams who are playing for something, you’ve got to send the best referee.
</p>

<p>
	“He was by far not the best referee they could have sent for this game.
</p>

<p>
	“Something has to be done because they (referees) have cost us a lot of points and four or five penalties which are blatant.
</p>

<p>
	“They are not ones that are debatable. How many times can I keep accepting it?”

<p><img src="https://prideofnottingham.co.uk/uploads/monthly_2018_03/ah.JPG.e0af19165fe27dd831eae8a8f9a51218.JPG" /></p>
<p>
	Alan Hardy is looking forward to this Easter's crucial League Two fixtures as Notts County take on two direct promotion rivals and is hoping for a response from the Magpies.
</p>

<p>
	First up are Wycombe Wanderers - third in the table - at Meadow Lane on Good Friday, followed by second-placed Accrington Stanley away on Easter Monday.
</p>

<p>
	Hardy admits to being nervous and also excited with regards to the ramifications that these two games will have on County's situation as the season reaches its final stages.
</p>

<p>
	"Come Monday at 5pm, we will have a much clearer picture of where we stand in respect of automatic promotion," Hardy told the Nottingham Post.
</p>

<p>
	"We will either have a considerable gap to close in the last five games or we will be on the coattails of Wycombe and Accrington, who we face in the coming days.
</p>

<p>
	"Personally, I believe Luton and Accrington already have a foot in League One – but there is still one position very much up for grabs.
</p>

<p>
	"If we can beat Wycombe we will be just one point behind them in the race for that coveted third place so it just underlines what a big game it is at Meadow Lane.
</p>

<p>
	"I am experiencing a wide range of emotions, from nervousness to excitement, and I do harbour the feeling that it’s going to be an extraordinary and special afternoon.
</p>

<p>
	"We are expecting a big crowd and an atmosphere which will reflect what’s at stake come 3pm.
</p>

<p>
	"After losing to Chesterfield last Sunday, we are looking for a response to what was a disappointing afternoon at the Proact Stadium.
</p>

<p>
	"This team has proven on more than one occasion that when they have encountered a setback, they generally respond in the right manner.
</p>

<p>
	"With the season reaching its climax, we are going to need all those traits again if we are to get ourselves over the line and celebrate what would be a remarkable achievement.
</p>

<p>
	"As I have said previously, being in this position was never on the agenda when we set out in the summer. But let’s enjoy the ride and the potential riches it may bring."

<p>
	Kevin Nolan has urged Notts County to "right the wrongs" from the <a href="https://prideofnottingham.co.uk/home/reports/match-report-dreadful-notts-county-performance-ends-in-defeat-to-chesterfield-r2560/" rel="">3-1 loss to Chesterfield last week</a> and get their League Two promotion tilt back on track against Wycombe Wanderers.
</p>

<p>
	The Magpies lock horns with the Chairboys on Friday at Meadow Lane, a big League Two clash between the fourth-placed hosts and the third-placed visitors.
</p>

<p>
	Nolan admits the last few days have been tough but says Notts have bounced back from bad results before and is confident the same will happen against Wycombe.
</p>

<p>
	“It’s been a tough few days because of the loss, but what this team has proven is their togetherness, will, character and fight,” he told the Nottingham Post.
</p>

<p>
	“We’ve have been good at responding and we’ve got to do that again.
</p>

<p>
	“I am not one of those managers who because we’ve lost one game will start punishing players. If something needs to be done or said, it will be.
</p>

<p>
	“We don’t go day by day here. We do everything for a reason. People are quite quick to forget the success by doing what we have done with this squad.
</p>

<p>
	“And the only excuse we had on Sunday is that we weren’t good enough. It’s now down to us to put right the wrongs.”

<p>
	Notts County legend Mark Stallard has urged the Magpies to exploit Wycombe Wanderers' mediocre defence.
</p>

<p>
	The Magpies lock horns with the Chairboys on Friday at Meadow Lane, a big League Two clash between the fourth-placed hosts and the third-placed visitors.
</p>

<p>
	“I think it’s a game that Notts know they have to go out and win because while a draw would be okay, it wouldn’t close the gap,” Stallard, who played for both Notts and Wycombe, told the Nottingham Post. “That could actually be a good thing as far as the players are concerned.
</p>

<p>
	“Having been there myself, when you know a draw might be an okay result, you might play it a bit safer. But when you know when you’ve got to go out there and get the three points, you know you have to be on the front foot and be aggressive.
</p>

<p>
	“When you think back to Notts’ performance at Wycombe earlier in the season, it was certainly one of the best of the season. And looking at the stats Wycombe have conceded 54 goals, which is the highest out of the teams in the top seven, but they do score a lot of goals too. Notts have got to go out there, try to hurt them, be aggressive and put them on the back foot.
</p>

<p>
	“It’s third versus fourth and if Notts win then an automatic spot is there for the taking. And with a lot of sides at the top playing each other from now until the end of the season, points will be dropped. But I am looking forward to the game. Wycombe have been in great form in the last few games, while Notts were unbeaten in four until that really subdued, poor, performance against Chesterfield."

<p>
	<strong>What's been happening in League Two over the last week?</strong>
</p>

<p>
	<strong>Here is Pride of Nottingham's round-up of the biggest League Two news from the last seven days.</strong>
</p>

<p>
	- Port Vale defender Adam Yates announced his retirement, following a serious facial injury in November, but will remain with the club and work with the Port Vale Foundation.
</p>

<p>
	- Darren Sarll returned to Stevenage to oversee their youth system, just 10 days after being sacked as their manager.The 35-year-old worked with the club's youth side and was a first-team coach before becoming boss in February 2016.
</p>

<p>
	- Exeter City manager Paul Tisdale says he has still not reached an agreement with the club to extend his contract. The 45-year-old was served notice on his two-year rolling deal in November 2016 after a vote by the Exeter City Supporter's Trust, which runs the club.
</p>

<p>
	- Newport County manager Michael said any new deal for club captain - and former Notts County player - Joss Labadie would have to be a long-term contract rather than a month-to-month agreement, the player likely to be out for at least six months with an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
</p>

<p>
	- Sticking with the Exiles, they confirmed that chief executive Alex Tunbridge would be leaving the Welsh club at the end of June after accepting the position of CEO at hometown club Stevenage.
</p>

<p>
	- Teenage Crewe Alexandra striker George Nunn joined Premier League giants Chelsea for a reported fee of £300,000, despite not having made a first-team appearance for the Railwaymen.

<p>
	Kevin Nolan has reiterated that Notts County must be wary of the whole Wycombe Wanderers ensemble, not just Adebayo Akinfenwa.
</p>

<p>
	The Magpies lock horns with the Chairboys on Friday at Meadow Lane, a big League Two clash between the fourth-placed hosts and the third-placed visitors.
</p>

<p>
	Akinfenwa is the standout player in the squad due to his size and ability to batter through defences, but Nolan insists Gareth Ainsworth's team has quality across the field.
</p>

<p>
	“Everybody goes on about Akinfenwa but people forget there are 10 other lads in that team,” Nolan told the Nottingham Post.
</p>

<p>
	“It’s not just one man. They have good individual players who know the game. They play to a system and Gareth drills them very well.
</p>

<p>
	"We just have to match them in every department. We were very short of that against Chesterfield and there’s not been many times that has happened this season.
</p>

<p>
	“That’s why we’ve been successful as we have. We’ve got to make sure we are up for everything.
</p>

<p>
	“Hopefully our quality will shine through, as it has done for the majority of the season.”

<p>
	Wycombe Wanderers defender Joe Jacobson has described Notts County midfielder Jorge Grant as "probably the best player in the league" this season.
</p>

<p>
	The Nottingham Forest loanee has made 39 League Two appearances this term, scoring 15 goals and registering five assists.
</p>

<p>
	Although Grant's form has tailed off in the second half on the season compared to the barnstorming first half, Chairboys man Jacobson is still wary of the threat posed by the Magpies' leading scorer.
</p>

<p>
	Ahead of Friday's meeting, he told Bucks Free Press: “He’s a very good player and I think he’s got the recognition he deserves this season.
</p>

<p>
	"He’s probably been the best player in the league so I’ve got to make sure I’m on top of my game.
</p>

<p>
	“I’ve played against a lot of good players in my career so it will be another challenge for me to have a good performance against a player who is very highly thought of, so it’s something that I’m looking forward to.’’

<p>
	Notts County are reported to be on the verge of signing striker Nile Ranger on a short-term contract until the end of the season.
</p>

<p>
	The 26-year-old is a free agent, having been released by Southend United in January due to disciplinary issues.
</p>

<p>
	Notts confirmed that they were monitoring Ranger with a view to a potential move in February following the injury to loanee Mason Bennett, who was forced to return to parent club Derby County.
</p>

<p>
	Although a move did not materialise back then, County's stuttering form - albeit combined with the still plausible possibility of a top-three finish - has reportedly led to the club hierarchy taking the plunge in hope of Ranger weighing in with several crucial goals.
</p>

<p>
	Our sources say Ranger is to be offered a short-term deal which runs until the start of June, thus including the playoffs, with the option of a further season - but there is also a strict "professionalism" clause which could see the player dismissed should he step out of line off the pitch.
</p>

<p>
	Notts boss Kevin Nolan has worked with Ranger before, when the two were at Newcastle United, and although he acknowledges the forward's off-the-pitch issues, he admits Ranger is "a lovely kid".
</p>

<p>
	Shola Ameobi and Alan Smith also plied their trade at St James' Park and are said to be eager to help their former colleague get his career back on track - and help Notts up into League One in the process.

<p>
	Kevin Nolan has remained coy over whether he will make changes to the Notts County starting XI for Friday's big League Two promotion battle with Wycombe Wanderers.
</p>

<p>
	The Magpies suffered a blow in their promotion ambitions at the weekend as <a href="https://prideofnottingham.co.uk/home/reports/match-report-dreadful-notts-county-performance-ends-in-defeat-to-chesterfield-r2560/" rel="">Chesterfield ran out 3-1 winners at the Proact Stadium</a>.
</p>

<p>
	On Good Friday, fourth-placed Notts will be hoping to reduce the point gap - currently four points - between themselves and the third-placed Chairboys, and Nolan could be tempted to make changes.
</p>

<p>
	“We have a good squad here and because of the quality of it, there are changes that can be made,” he told the Nottingham Post. “I’ll be discussing that this week.
</p>

<p>
	“But these lads have been fantastic. Sometimes you have to look at the bigger picture. They have been great and that’s why they are where they are.
</p>

<p>
	“We are hoping now for a response and from what I’ve seen this season, I am pretty certain we will get one.”

<p>
	Mason Bennett has revealed that he's still in touch with the Notts County players and staff, and has wished them well in their quest to gain promotion from League Two.
</p>

<p>
	The Derby County striker had joined the Magpies on loan until the end of the season in January and impressed on his debut off the bench against Crewe Alexandra.
</p>

<p>
	Sadly, the move was cut short when he seriously injured his hamstring in his first start for the club at Barnet.
</p>

<p>
	“It wasn’t going for me at Derby at that time and I needed to go out and play football,” Bennett told Rams TV.

<p>
	“I remember being on the phone to the gaffer and he said ‘go score me some goals’. To get that goal (against Crewe) was a nice relief. But then I got my first start and that (injury) happened.
</p>

<p>
	“But I am still in the WhatsApp group chat and I’ve spoken to the manager there and the staff. They keep asking me how I am doing and when I’m back.
</p>

<p>
	“But I hope they do well. I am rooting for them as they are a great bunch of lads. It’s a great club and hopefully they will have promotion at the end of the season.”

<p>
	Former Notts County boss Neil Warnock was the subject of a funny anecdote from his time at Sheffield United.
</p>

<p>
	The 69-year-old, who managed the Magpies from 1989 to 1993, enjoyed his longest managerial tenure at Bramall Lane, from 1999 to 2007.
</p>

<p>
	Warnock was no stranger to controversy during his time in South Yorkshire, picking fights with Sheffield Wednesday fans, referees and even Phil Thompson.
</p>

<p>
	Karren Brady, who is married to former Blades forward Paul Peschisolido, recalled a story told by her husband about the wily veteran during a team outing at a bowling alley.
</p>

<p>
	"He convinced us all to put £10 in the pot, winner take all," Brady, writing in The Sun, quoted her husband as saying.
</p>

<p>
	“We agreed for some fun, then he pulled out his own bowling shoes and custom ball, shot 250 and took all our money.”
</p>

<p>
	Earlier this year, Warnock revealed how he embraced his role as the pantomime villain, even making a rather unusual request for when he dies.
</p>

<p>
	Speaking to the Daily Mail, he said; "I don't want silence. I want them all to be chanting "Warnock's a w***er" over and over again. For a whole minute.
</p>

<p>
	"That would be my ideal. They'll all smile because they'd all know that would mean a lot to me.
</p>

<p>
	"As daft as it sounds. It matters because it would mean I've stirred emotions. I've helped people love football."

<p>
	Kevin Nolan has stressed that he has "no qualms" about Notts County fans booing at the end of their <a href="https://prideofnottingham.co.uk/home/reports/match-report-dreadful-notts-county-performance-ends-in-defeat-to-chesterfield-r2560/" rel="">3-1 defeat at Chesterfield</a> given the abject performance by the visitors.
</p>

<p>
	The Magpies were convincingly beaten at the Proact Stadium on Sunday as Sid Nelson, Zavon Hines and a Kristian Dennis penalty made Dan Jones's free kick a scant consolation.
</p>

<p>
	More than 1,400 Notts fans were at the game and a sizeable amount booed their team's shoddy display, and Nolan says they were entitled to voice their opinion.
</p>

<p>
	“They have come to watch the game and if they are not happy with it then they can share and voice that opinion,” he told the Nottingham Post.
</p>

<p>
	“For me it wasn’t good enough and we were second best all over. I’ve got no qualms about the fans.
</p>

<p>
	“We brought more than 1,400 fans which is fantastic and what we want.
</p>

<p>
	“They were there until the end of the game and then when it was over, and if they don’t feel it is right, then they are going to voice their opinion.
</p>

<p>
	“Nobody can hide from the fact that we weren’t good enough, but we’ve got to move on.”
