Crewe Alexandra have found themselves in good form as of late and their manager Steve Davis will be hoping his team will continue on Saturday against Notts at Meadow Lane. He has issued a warning about a backlash with the Notts County form being on the decline after several extremely difficult games for the magpies.

It's time for Notts to put in a convincing display on Saturday, as fans will be hoping to see that we can get back to winning ways against The Railwaymen.

Firstly, could you please tell prideofnottingham.co.uk a little about yourself such as how long you've been a railwaymen fan?

My name is Nick, I have been supporting Crewe Alexandra for around 10 years now and I am 17 years old.

How do you feel about the progress you've made within League One and do you think you can survive relegation?

At the start of the season I was quietly confident about staying up this season, when it started it seemed that we were destined for a difficult season and although I am unsure about survival at this point, I know the Crewe squad shows a lot of spirit and the good run in form is important to see us continue.

What is the Crewe Academy like, are you still bringing through young players and in recent years who would say is the best youngster produced by your club?

The club are still producing youngsters, the squad is mainly consisting of youth graduates. The easy answer would be to name our club captain Matt Tootle, he has given a lot to remain at Crewe and continues to play with the type of passion required for gaining promotion from L2 and remaining in L1 but for me, I would have to say George Cooper. He is young, only 18 but already shows that he has a promising future at the club provided we can keep him.

If you could sign anyone from League One who would it be and why?

Anyone? Well there is a player available on a free transfer but I would hope Crewe wouldn't touch him with a barge pole. I quite like Eion Doyle who plays for Chesterfield, if he could produce his quantity of goals here and play well, I'd snap him now in an unrealistic world.

Which Crewe players are currently in form and who would you label as your main threats?

Nicky Ajose is currently on form, Jamie Ness has been playing very well recently and Alan Tate's been putting in steady performances at the back. We have scored 23 goals from 24 games, I would say our squad play as a team with regards to our main threats.

Can you tell me which formation and team you see Crewe starting with on Saturday?

The squad hasn't changed all that much recently, hopefully Anthony Grant will start. Formation wise I hope we play a steady 4-4-2 but we seem to favour packing the midfield with numbers, this is something which can work but is often the root of our problems because we play 3 at the back at times.

Who are Notts County's main threats on Saturday, which players are currently in form?

I have been keeping a look out on your forum, I know that Alan Smith is not favoured by the Notts County faithfuls. It seems the veteran Gary Jones is standing out, with Garry Thompson. I would be a little clueless without having had looked but last season I thought Ronan Murray looked to be in hot form for you.

Lastly how do you see Crewe and Notts playing, including any possible score prediction?

Considering the way we both are performing I see the game ending as a draw. I am not expecting a lot of goals, so I will say 1-1 but I would leave Meadow Lane happy avoiding defeat.

Pride of Nottingham would like to thank Railwaymen's fan Nick for taking the time to answer our questions, we wish Crewe Alexandra well with their bid for safety within League One and we hope he enjoys Saturday.

Being 2nd in League One with a game in hand of the 1st place Swindon Town, Robins fans have every right to be exited about this seasons campaign. Bristol City have lead the division and put together several impressive displays, as they hover around the two top positions.

Pride of Nottingham's taken the time to ask several questions to Robin's fan 'Hodge' who is currently exiled away from the club in which he supports.

Firstly, could you please tell prideofnottingham.co.uk a little about yourself such as how long you've been a Robins fan?

I've been a City fan for around 13 years having started watching them at about the age of 10. Outside football I'm currently studying a masters degree at UCLan in Preston so a bit of an exile but managing to get to a fair few away games.

At the start of the season where did you hope Bristol City would be by this point and what is the difference compared to last season?

Given that least season was our first back in the division and we started it by being rooted to the bottom until sacking Sean O'Driscoll and replacing him with Steve Cotterill its hard to compare, Cotterill did a great job to get us back to 12th from taking over in January so going into this season I wasn't sure what to expect. However given our activity in the transfer market bringing in players who were attracting interest from championship clubs such as Luke Freeman, Korey Smith, Aaron Wilbraham and Kieran Agard (who left promoted Rotherham as their top scorer to join us) I was expecting us to be around the play-offs.

Which three players do you feel will be runners for your 'Player of the Season' and why?

Luke Freeman - Great engine, never stops running and chasing the game when we're not on the ball, his influence only grows game by game as he becomes accustomed to a unfamiliar position while being dangerous going forward.

Aden Flint - Rock of our defence, great aerial presence and along with Luke Ayling and Derrick Williams has been a big factor of success in our defence.

If Aaron Wilbraham hadn't been injured the last few weeks I'd have said him, but Korey Smith. Does the job that no one really notices, cleans up any opposition attacking play well, recycles and gets us going forward again. Also has a mean right boot on him when given the chance.

What are your thoughts on Steve Cotterill as your manager? Do you always agree with his lineups and substitutions?

Honestly when I heard Cotterill was the manager we were after, not even interviewing someone else I really didn't feel enthusiastic about what the club was doing, never have I ever been so wrong. Cotterill was an inspired choice as he managed to take us from bottom at Christmas last season to top at Christmas this season. In the calender year of 2014 we picked up around 84 points which put City 9th overall from all 4 divisions. As for his line ups well, we're going to play 532 with wingbacks, you could practically bet your mortgage on it and the line up will rarely change.

	GK - Frank Fielding

	RWB - Mark Little

	RCB - Luke Ayling

	CB - Aden Flint

	LCB - Derrick Williams

	LWB - Joe Bryan

	CM - Wade Elliott

	CM - Korey Smith

	CM - Luke Freeman

	ST - Matt Smith

	ST - Jay Emmanuel-Thomas

Only way that will be different will be if either Kieron Agard or Aaron Wilbraham have recovered from injury where they may replace Emmanuel-Thomas. Its hard to argue against the team as its one that has only found itself being knocked off the top spot for the first time in over 100 days due to Swindon playing a league game while we were playing an FA Cup game.

As for his substitutions, occasionally I feel Cotterill can wait a bit too long to make subs, as if he's hoping things stay like they are (having been top all season and results generally being in our favour). Sometimes you can see and feel the game changing and as a fan think something needs to be changed where as Cotterill does nothing, sometimes it costs us, sometimes it doesn't.

At Ashton Gate what is the atmosphere like, which away teams have impressed you with their support and why?

This season the atmosphere can be very hit and miss I find, with the main bunch of loud fans having to be relocated due to the redevelopment it has meant that some have split up and gone to other areas of the ground leading to some quieter games, but when the fans get going it can be a fantastic atmosphere. As for away fans, I've only been able to get down to a few games this season given my distance from Bristol. Yeovil Town provided a decent atmosphere on boxing day, however the distance between the two sides geographically probably helped in that regard.

How much does football mean to you in general and what attracted you to supporting Bristol City?

Admittedly Football is not my main sport, I never played it apart from at school. However I have watched Football since a young age and was glued to it instantly, I try and watch as much as possible, whether watching Bristol City games where I had been a season ticket for around 5 years before moving for university or when possible watching any games on tv. As for what drew me to City, I moved to Somerset when I was 8 and my dad started taking me along to games within a year or two so I have probably been watching City for a good 13 years or so.

Which Bristol City players are currently inform and how would you expect your side to play on Saturday?

While limiting it to three is hard as so many are playing well I'd have to say Matt Smith (on loan from Fulham), Luke Freeman and Aden Flint would probably be my three picks for players in the best form. Smith has scored 8 in 4 games (4 against Gillingham in the JPT semi final), Freeman despite being a winger has found himself being played in central midfield with license to go forward and has adapted brilliantly. And finally Aden Flint has been our rock in defence a really commanding centre back both in terms of his game play and as a presence within the team.

Out of the Notts County players which would you be concerned about and who would you set to mark them?

Apart from the well known players such as Smith, Carroll, Mullins etc I admit Notts County are a club I'm not so well clued up on for their best players. However I remember Stephen McLaughlin from his time on loan with us and that he can cause problems, also given that we operate using wing backs, he could get some free runs at them.

Which two games this season stand out for you for good and bad reasons, please tell us why?

Sheffield United away first game of the season, pre season Sheffield Utd had been tipped as the favourites by many to run away with the league, so for us to win away there on the opening game sent a clear message of our intentions for this season.

Peterborough away, despite their league position p'boro is never an easy place to travel to, so given we won 3-0 and dominated while on TV it again sent out the message of what we were capable of having come off the back of successive defeats the previous two games.

Pride of Nottingham would like to thank Robins fan Hodge for taking the time to answer our questions, we wish him all the very best with his masters degree and we wish Bristol City all the best with the rest their season.

Swindon Town find themselves in fine form, however a small blip to the hands of Cheltenham Town in the F.A Cup saw them knocked out having conceded 5 goals and scoring none in the process. However, the Robins have picked up some very impressive victories so far this season.

Pride of Nottingham have taken the time to catch up with resident Robins fan medievalmickey, he's kindly answered our questions.

Firstly, could you remind prideofnottingham.co.uk a little about yourself such as how long you've been a Swindon Town fan?

I am closing in on 69th birthday and was taken to 01st match at the County Ground, by my Granddad, when I was around 7 years old. I stood at the Town End and could just about peer over the fence. I remember seeing youthful Terry Paine play for Southampton and a Reading winger named De’ath which amused me somewhat.

I watched Trowbridge Town in Southern League during mid 60s but started watching Swindon Town again during late 70s and have watched regularly for the last 30 years. I am now philosophical about football and am no longer embittered by the inevitable defeats. “Girlfriend said that it was fun even though the others won” as sung by Half Man Half Biscuit is fine by me.

2nd in the league, things are looking good for the Robins - Did you think you would be in this position at this stage in the season and do you think you could win the League One title?

I did not think we would be this high in the table and thought 5th or 6th would be as good as it could be. A lot was made of our Tottenham feeder club status and three loanees left at end of last season and all are playing at a higher level this. Tim Sherwood is no longer at Spurs so this arrangement has faded away but our Chairman, Lee Power, has forged links with Southampton and Norwich.

Peterborough United, Bristol City, Preston, Barnsley, Sheffield United and Bradford City - All teams Swindon Town have defeated so far this season. How do you feel about having beaten these sides and which stand out to you?

We were said to have a tough November and lost early on to MK Dons and then subsequently thrashed by Cheltenham Town in FA Cup. In between we beat Preston at home and then defeated Bristol City, Peterborough United and Fleetwood Town. The Bristol City result was most pleasing because where we live is biased towards them and local media was full of Steve Cotterill’s bitter outbursts.

It's hard to see a weakness within a side doing so well, however do you have any concerns? Do you feel there is any need to strengthen in January, if so where and why? If not care tell why this is?

Apart from Andy Williams we are unlikely to field any player over 23 years of age so inconsistency is a real concern. We are guilty of “overplaying”, losing a sense of purpose and having no Plan B. Mark Cooper has worked hard on this and I think we are now more focused. We are likely to lose a player or two before any strengthening can be made in January. Swindon Town supporters now generally trust Lee Power to do what is right for the Club and its ethos.

What does Football mean to you? Is there more to the game than rivalry and what do you like about the sport a way from Swindon Town?

I enjoy watching live football and cannot contemplate how I would fill the void should I be unable to watch Swindon Town. I abhor moronic behaviour by anyone connected to the match day experience. I know we will not win every game and am happy(?) to applaud the opposition when it is deserved. I am sure that if I sat down with Joe we would get on well because of our love of the game. Rivalry should be good natured banter with no malice. I like sport generally but find it more enjoyable if I want one team or player to win otherwise it is easy to lose interest.

Which Swindon Town players are currently in form and which of them stands out to you as the main threat to Notts County?

Our set up is about the team as a unit and there are no standout stars. Massimo Luongo and Yaser Kassim have become full internationals this year and are possibly headline names and, on their day, can boss any midfield. Defence is generally tight and all three main strikers have been among the goals. We field a mixture of Academy, loan and “plucked from non-league” players that have been blended into a team that works for one another and plays attractive football.

Who from the Notts squad do think could cause a threat and how would you set Swindon Town up on Saturday?

I do not know too much about Notts. County squad other than Ronan Murray who was on loan with us a couple of years back. I am impressed by your results in Shaun Derry’s first full season and would see a win for us as an excellent result. Mark Cooper is talking of possible defensive injuries for the weekend so will set the team up according to available players. You will see that we try to make the ball do the work and are happy use Wes Foderingham, the goalkeeper, as a sweeper.

Finally, how do you see the game going on Saturday? Could you please predict the Half and Full Time Scores, including goal scorers if possible?

Sorry Joe I will not tempt the gods of football and predict any scores. I should imagine it will be a tight game with little to choose …. which almost certainly guarantees any easy win for one of us.

Pride of Nottingham would like to thank Mickey for taking the time to answer our questions, we hope to see him around the site, enjoying our features and we wish Swindon all the best with their season ahead.

Notts County will be taking on Accrington Stanley in the first round draw of the F.A Cup this Sunday, Who are they you say?

We have taken the time to speak with a Stanley fan Mark ahead of the game, he's answered several of our questions and hopefully you will find this to be insightful. Be sure to click like, share and comment.

Firstly, could you please tell prideofnottingham.co.uk a little about yourself such as how long you've been a Stanley fan?

I'm a 51 yr old Stanley fan living in Clitheroe in the ribble valley Lancashire. I'm in my 9th season as a season ticket holder has is my youngest son. I attend all home games regardless of the competition Stanley are in, I also travel to the odd away game 1/2 a season work stops me from going to more.

Can you share your impressions on the cup draw? Are you happy with Stanley being drawn to Notts County and how do you think the game will end?

Hmmm not over happy we draw County specially with it been drawn away, but its a one off game and we'll give it ago. Out come of the game a 2-1 win for the Stanley of course.

How is your season going so far? What are your hopes and ambitions for the club in the 2014/2015 season and the next two seasons?

To get to 50pts on the board and hopefully push on in to the playoffs. Next couple of seasons hopefully playing you lot in L/1.

What are your thoughts on the “Accrington Stanley, Who are they?” advert and the popular notoriety since then and can you share some information about another motto “The club that wouldn't die?”

I Don't really give the avert any thought. Now then “The club that wouldn't die” speaks for itself, it is about how Stanley raised against all the odds still managed to survive year in year out from when we dropped out of the league in 62 right up to the TAX scare of a few years back.

Who are Accrington Stanley's in form players? Which should Notts County be aware of?

On there day all will give county game and if I told you that part you'd be as wise as me.

Which Notts County two players do you see being the main threat to Accrington Stanley and why?

Not really checked out County's players sorry.

Can you tell us about some classic moments from your time supporting the club? Such as big wins and possibly any memories of the F.A Cup?

Gaining promotion to the league must be the best thing, cup games against the premiership boys Fulham and Newcastle both at home, Stevenage in the l/2 playoffs. Middlesbourgh away last season in the league cup and winning 2-1, Leeds away a couple of times, beating Gillingham 7-4 in the league, and most of all keeping Morecambe in there place year in year out.

How many fans do you think will make the trip to Meadow Lane? Will they be lively and will you be making the trip yourself?

200 at most including my self and yes we'll out sing the magpies.

Pride of Nottingham would like to thank Mark for taking the time to answer our questions, we wish Stanley all the best within their League Two campaign and we hope they do make themselves known on Sunday.

This time last year Walsall found themselves in a similar position to Notts, however it is vastly different at the club this season. The Saddlers are concerned that they don't have enough fire power upfront and the arrival of Tom Bradshaw in the summer has given them a striker who knows how to find the net.

However the Saddlers are still struggling and are only 1 point away from the drop zone, with all to play Pride of Nottingham catches up with sadlad.

You're actually a resident on Pride of Nottingham, this is interesting especially considering you're a Walsall fan. Can you tell our readers why you joined us?

I was already signed up to a few other clubs fans sites like Huddersfield, Sheff Weds and Preston etc and had a look on the search engine for possible Notts County sites as Walsall were playing them soon. PON came up and on first viewing it struck me as how friendly and community based it was . I was made welcome right away on joining and I have to say its a really good, friendly site with fans of several other clubs posting away with the Notts County faithful so yes its the friendliness and acceptance which convinced me it was a good place to post with fellow football fans.

How do you feel the season is going and do you have any regrets about players who have left your club?

The season so far for 'The Saddlers' has been disappointing. The opening six League One games saw us failing to register a win and last season's continuation of not really scoring goals was there for all to see. Back to back home wins were spoilt by a shocking 0-4 thumping at Rochdale and results have been mixed since. Last Saturday's home win to Chesterfield was vital as we went into the game joint bottom. The only player to leave in the summer with any regret was captain Andy Butler who wanted to return up north and was snapped up by Sheff United. however he was re-signed on a month's loan and did a good job whilst he was here.

Another connection to PoN is the fact our first opposition residents are Shrewsbury Town fans. You signed one of their star players in the summer, Tom Bradshaw. He's scored 6 goals in 10 games for you, it seems daft to ask but how his he settling in? Also, what are your personal thoughts on him?

Tom Bradshaw has turned out to be an excellent signing and is already a firm fans favourite. He is full of energy, his work rate is terrific and he has a good goalscoring knack. Gets in there without fear and I just hope he can remain fairly injury-free. When he has been out injured he has been sorely missed. He's quite a handful as you will hopefully find out on Saturday! He has an early meeting with Shrewsbury as they are our visitors in the FA Cup and we hope he bags a hat trick!

You do a fair bit of travelling, you're a very die hard fan. What does the club mean to you and which do you prefer away days or home games at the Bescot Stadium?

I have been a fan of Walsall since 1966 from the age of 8 and yes its become a way of life. I love our clubs history especially anything to do with our 'real' home Fellows Park which we had to leave in 1990. I tend to go to most of our away games and love awaydays best..There is not much atmosphere generated at home games at Bescot. Ask any fan of my generation and they will tell you of the better atmosphere generated at the old place.

Which players are currently in form for Walsall and which of them pose a threat to the Notts defence?

Goalkeeper Richard O'Donnell has kept several clean sheets this term and full back Andy Taylor is steady. Tom Bradshaw is the main threat and is the main one to watch as he never gives centre backs a minute's peace.

You played apart in helping Alan Buckley write a book, can you tell us how this came about and how you feel about it? Did he give you a signed copy?

I had no involvement with the writing of the book- that was down to Paul Thundercliffe- but I was asked by them to provide a few pictures for the book and to use on their book web site which I was happy to do and also help them spread the word on the net so I linked their book site anywhere and everywhere possible with sites of clubs he'd either played for or managed. and all over applicable Facebook pages. Alan is my all time footballing hero and along with 5,000 others used to worship him from the terraces at Fellows Park. from when he first signed for us in 1973. He's our record goalscorer and as our manager produced teams who played some terrific attacking football. My friendship with him began two years ago when he did a Q and A session at a Walsall pub. I went up to him and told him I dio historical articles for a fans site (Walsall Web Fans) and asked if I could contact him at Grimsby Town FC (where he then worked as apart time youth coach) as I wanted feedback from him on what I had written about him! He consented and as he has nothing from his past with us in regards memorabilia he was very keen to see anything from that era. I was invited to the book signing event and the press launch before it and have met him at two other functions in Walsall since and its surreal that my hero is now my mate as well! The book is reprinted in November and I will start the publicity campaign all over again! No I had to pay for my copy like everyone else including our assistant manager Richard O'Kelly!

Which Notts players would you have marked and how would you cancel out our attacks?

I would say Ismail is the one to watch. I dont think we have played the same back four in consecutive games - or so it seems- so its hard to say who would mark him. Could be Paul Downing. I see you have won more games away than home and I think it will be a close game.

Last season you beat us in our home game 5-1, what are your memories of that and did you feel you could finish within the play-offs?

Last season's meeting at Meadow Lane was an amazing game for us! We had something like 30 attempts on goal, 18 on target and scored 5.. Our complaint was that we didn't score more. I seem to remember we messed up two one-on-one's with your keeper and fluffed a few more chances. It was just one of those games where we clicked. On loan played from Sheff United Febian Brandy scored a hat trick and it a bit out of character as we scored so few goals over the season as a whole.. The play offs were always a big ask last season and Im a firm believer in the fact that the league tables don't lie over the season. This season's game will be a lot closer and Saddlers can only hope for a draw at best I feel.

Pride of Nottingham would like to thank sadlad for taking the time to answer our questions, we hope to see him around the site and hopefully he enjoys his visit to Meadow Lane bar the result. COYP's! Up The Saddlers!

Rotherham United are one of the current in form teams in League One, in their past six games they've drawn 2 and won 4. Their away form in the last 10 to 6 games would put them top of the league. Notts will need to buckle down for this game, however The Millers form would suggest that they will keep our defence busy. In our earlier encounter Notts lost narrowly by one goal.

This week we have spoken to Pride of Nottingham resident 'BradtheMiller', we have asked a series of questions aimed to share the sight of a Rotherham United fan.

Firstly, could you please tell prideofnottingham.co.uk a little about yourself such as how long you've been a Rotherham Unuted fan?

Hi, i'm Ian, a 52 yr old Millers fan from Rotherham. I attended my first game v Wrexham at Millmoor in the 1971/72 season in the old Third Division & was quickly hooked. The game ended 1-1 (still remember)

You did our “Opposition View” for our last encounter, you mentioned how you would like to get into the championship but remained realistic by adding that mid table was your goal. There's a real chance you might make the play-offs, how do you feel now?

This season has exceeded my & most other Millers fans expectations & even the most pessimistic Rotherham fan (me) is starting to believe that the play-offs are possible.

The progression Rotherham's made in the past two seasons is very impressive, how important is it for you to see stability within the players and coaching staff?

Evans & Raynor, our manager & number two may not be everyones cup of tea (me neither) because of their touchline antics & cringeworthy interviews but you have to say they are very successful & their managerial record speaks for itself.

Player wise, apart from the 8 to 10 core squad members, it has been a bit of a revolving door this season with many players going in & out of the club, mainly on loan. Fans were dissapointed to lose some of last seasons promotion heros such as Nardiello & Mullins, but some of the players Evans has brought in have been quality, such as full backs Tavernier & Skarz, midfielder Smallwood from Middlesbrough, & Striker Wes Thomas, though not all have been a success. Evans chased Bournemouth striker Matt Tubbs for a year before he brought him to NYS on a six month loan with a view to him being a 200k club record signing & in the sixmonths we had him, he scored ONE goal & couldn't hit a barn door with a bazzooka!

Can you tell our members and readers about your passion for football? You have an hobby of watching quite a few games all across England, why is that?

I consider myself to be a football fan first, & a Millers fan second, which might sound a bit mental, but there is something great about going to a match with no vested interest, a true neutral & enjoy the whole day, soak up the atmosphere, & arrive home after an enjoyable day out without wanting to smash the house up when you come home. I still make most Millers home games though!

(I even went to ML this season as a neutral)

What's your biggest achievement so far within this season and what's really disappointed you?

Biggest achievement was beating BOTH massive Sheffield clubs at NYS in successive home games early in the season, so, so, satisfying after decades of them calling us "toytown"! Shut them up for a bit!!

Please tell us about your goal scorers so far this season, do you have confident strikers or do have goals being scored from all over?

Kieran Agard is our top scorer so far with 16 goals & we play him on the right side of midfield!!

In fact, our next two top scorers are also midfielders, Lee Frecklington (9) & Ben Pringle (7), with striker Alex Revell also on 7. Recent signing Wes Thomas who is a striker has scored in his last three games

What formation(s) have you been using and how do you expect your starting line up to look on Saturday?

We normally go 4-4-2 at home but we can adapt to either 4-5-1 or 3-5-2 depending how the game is going.

Name three teams which have impressed you at New York Stadium and three teams which have impressed you at their home ground?

The three teams who impressed me at NYS were Swindon, who murdered us 4-0, Preston who looked very strong in a 0-0 draw & surprisingly enough Crawley, who outplayed us but we managed a 2-2 draw with a last minute equaliser.

I've only been to three away games this season (Notts, York in the JPT, & Bradford) & we won all those, so I can't say i've been impressed with any of them

Over the years, which three players that you have seen play (for any team) have been the best and was they playing within the league suited to their talent?

Gerry Forrest, my all time favourite Millers player, finally achieved the top division with Southampton, playing in the same side as Le Tissier.

Cesc Fabregas; made his Arsenal debut v the Millers in the league cup 2002/03 season at Highbury, the rest is history.

Teddy Sherringham; played for West Ham v The Millers in the early 00's, sheer quality

Who are your main threats within your squad, which players would you highlight as possible tricky players for Notts?

Our main threats are our midfield, who I regard as the best in League 2, Frecklington & Pringle in particular. Watch out too, for Alex Revell, our target man, who is so important to the way we play, your centre backs will know they've been in a game.

Which Notts players do you think are likely to cause Rotherham's defence some problems and how do you see the score ending?

For Notts, McGregor looks impressive, & Grealish, your loan signing from Villa seems to have done well. I can't see past a Millers victory, sorry guys, so i'll stab at Millers 3 Pies 1

What is Rotherham like for travelling fans? Can you tell us where you would recommend to spend time, perhaps go for a drink and what is parking like?

With the ground being in the town centre & 5 minutes from the train station, all the eating & drinking outlets are within easy walking distance; eg McDonalds, KFC, THREE weatherspoons pubs, cafes etc. There is also a licenced bar inside all the stadium concourses.

There is a Liquid night club just up the road with a huge car park. I think they charge but i dunno how much.

Pride of Nottingham would like to thank 'BradtheMiller' for his time answering our questions and for sharing his views with regards to this upcoming game. It is always nice to see the opinions of our resident opposition friends.

Wolves come into the game having won all their previous four games, they did however lose narrowly to Gillingham 1-0 prior to this. Notts will be optimistic after casting aside Coventry City. On paper Wolves have many quality players, however as we saw in the Johnstone Paint Trophy we can shut up shop against them and play fairly well against them. Notts fans will be travelling in good numbers, so the League One encounter will be all set. For this weeks opposition view we've spoken to Wolves fan Mike, below you will be able to read his view into our game. Enjoy YP!

Firstly, could you please tell prideofnottingham.co.uk a little about yourself such as how long you've been a Wolverhampton fan?

I'm 28 now. Did you attend and what was your thoughts on the game?

I didn't attend no, but from what I gather it was a typical JPT/Early cup round game, no interest from the home support and nobody were really fussed by the result.

Kenny Jackett is quite the character, how do you feel about him as your manager and would you say the fans are pleased with him?

I had reservations initially but he's been excellent thus far. He's gotten rid of the bad apples with aplomb and given youngsters a chance. Danny Batth for instance was on loan at Sheffield Wednesday and made captain, when do you hear of that? a young loanee made captain? yet he wasn't given a chance by successive managers here. He's come into our side and now part of the tightest defence in League One.

The signings have been excellent, Jacobs and Henry were superb for the prices we've paid, McDonald has genuine quality for 400k.

Can you tell us how you feel the game will go, who the scorers/score will be?

County seem to be improving a lot with the exception of the Walsall result. Also boosted by the capture of the boy from Celtic who we were interested in ourselves... that said if we want to go up we simply have to be beating teams in the bottom 5/6. After the previous two relegations we'd won just 19 of our previous 84 (league) games. So it was a massive moral booster even if it was a promoted side and we were expected to win.

Also, playing Orient at home we attracted a crowd of almost 29,000. For League One that's an achievement and we had the 4th highest attendance in Britain that day.

Please share some memories of match days during the years you have supported Wolves, perhaps you could also tell us about how you became a supporter of them?

For a while I was a home and away season ticket holder with friends but I stopped going away so much due to my career, I was a licensee in Wolves town centre for a while so I was often needed at work on matchdays etc after leaving the pub game I've started going away again but go mostly with my dad and his mates. It's always been a good craic. I've seen us lose 3-0 away at Pompey in the driving rain without a roof, and I've seen us beat Liverpool and Spurs away from home.. for me there is nothing better.

What formations have you been using this season and what do you expect to be the starting line up?

We had been playing with one up front with a midfield five with Dave Edwards making some great runs in which were causing a lot of problems for teams but after the transfer window we've reverted back to 4-4-2 with Dicko and Clarke. McDonald will dictate play and he can put a ball on a sixpence, and Evans is the classic Makelele type who breaks up play. Whilst Edwards was good playing the role above he lacks the discipline to play the Evans role and if he were to start we'd look totally lopsided.

I'd expect this

------------------McCreary------------------

	Ricketts - Batth - Stearman - Golbourne

	Jacobs - McDonald - Evans - Henry

	-------------Clarke - Dicko------------------

The last five games has seen Wolves pick up 12 points, how many points do you see being picked up from your next five?

March will be make or break for us, we've got 8 games in the space of 28 days and looking at the opposition we need to be beating them if we're going up automatically. Brentford at the end of the month will be huge.

Notts County - H - Win
Brentford - A - Draw
Port Vale - H - Win
Swindon - A - Draw
Shrewsbury - H - Win

Which Wolves players have been vital to your recent performances? Can you tell us about the threats your side possesses as a whole?

We can break at lightning speed thanks to the speed of our wingers. In Sako we've got somebody who can be completely anonymous for 88 minutes and still score one and set one up in two minutes of brilliance. I really like Dicko because the lad scares defenders and we've scored two own goals from nervous defending.

The back four have been immense, to only concede 20 all season is a hell of a return and I think Evans too because he really is the glue of the side.

Who do you see as being a threat Wolves from our side and how do you see them being dealt with on the day?

The lad McGregor from Celtic. I don't think we've particularly set out to man mark anybody as of yet, as we play possession football the onus will be on County to 'come and get it' though as we saw against Preston, some managers turn up with a negative gameplan leaving their star players ineffective. PNE and Orient have. If I were County I'd accept we're rank outsiders and go for broke. Fortune favours the brave!

Can you advise our travelling fans about the area surrounding the ground? Such as local pubs, eating areas and of course parking?

There are very few pubs in town for away fans and even less by the stadium.

Walkabout in the city centre is your best bet. It's on Queen Street two minutes from the train station.

If arriving by train as you come out the station turn right and next to the BTP station is a marked subway, walk under there and turn right, theres a pub nearby called the Great Western, great pub busy on matchdays but a great atmosphere and I've seen away fans in there untroubled many occasions

Pride of Nottingham would like to thank Mike for taking the time to answer our questions, we wish Wolves all the very best and hope the better team wins on Saturday (whoever that may be). Stevenage FC come into the game having impressively defeated play-off chasing Swindon Town at home 2-0. The struggling League One team who currently sit bottom of the table, find themselves in a similar situation as ourselves. On Saturday the 4th of January 2014, Stevenage FC managed to beat Doncaster Rovers in the 4th round of the F.A cup by 3 goals to 2. Prior to their win against Swindon Town in the league, Stevenage have struggled to pick up points having lost 3 games and drawing 2. Pride of Nottingham returns with our opposition view which gives you an insight of a Stevenage FC fan.

Firstly, could you please tell prideofnottingham.co.uk a little about yourself such as how long you've been a Stevenage fan?

I moved to Stevenage in September 2005. I started going to watch Boro as a football loving neutral who felt he should support his local club, but quickly became a fan due to the great team ethic on show at Broadhall Way. I got my first season in the conference winning season and we haven't looked back since!

At the start of the season what was your expectations and how does this compare to where Stevenage currently find themselves?

We're bottom, so obviously I was hoping/expecting better than that. Realistically I was hoping for mid-table this season finishing 10-15th (which could still happen). We have a lot of squad re-balancing to do since Smith left and I don't expect that to be a quick process. Staying up would be a massive achievement from here, if we do that I can see a promotion challenge in 2015-16.

How do you think opposition fans view Stevenage FC?

The stereotypical view is "big, strong and physical" and you often get a tag of cynical thrown in for good measure. I'm happy for fans and teams to think that because that mean they underestimate the quality of the team to their detriment. I do think we have a problem with some match officials who come with those tags in the back of their mind and give all the 50:50s against us, but that's probably just my red and white tinted spectacles. Given we have one of the smallest budget in the league we have to make up for that with organisation and work-rate which is what the manager insists on from his players.

Can you tell us what your thoughts are Graham Westley, do you rate or like him as a manager?

Graham is an interesting character, you love him at your club and everyone else hates him (a bit like Neil Warnock). I wasn't a supporter of bringing Graham back last season because I didn't see how a man who left the club to take a 'bigger' role and then failed in that role could come back and still have respect in the dressing room. He clearly does though, and I love the team ethic he insists on from his footballer. Team before self. We know players will have to have the right mentality to sign for us, which is a major plus.

After picking up François Zoko on a free transfer, as Notts deemed him to be surplus to requirements. He seems to have found form for Stevenage, what is your view on this?

Zoko has been excellent, just what we needed and much better than he expected given we signed him on a free having been released from you guys. We lacked a clinical goal scorer and front man, particularly when Darius Charles was injured against Everton in the league cup (he's just now back after a lengthy break which is great for us!) I was delighted to see we'd signed him til the end of the season because without him I struggled to see where our goals were coming from to keep us up. Zoko himself has said he's enjoying playing a consistent position as the lead striker, which he hasn't had at previous club which might explain his change in performances.

Which League One team have you most looked forward to seeing play so far this season?

Peterborough, and in truth they were pretty disappointing. I enjoyed seeing Bozzie (Michael Bostwick) who was a massive player for us back in the day, but he's wasted at centre back. Far more potent in the Steven Gerrard type midfield role he played for us!

What have been your best and worst experiences as a Stevenage fan?

It's been mostly good. My best and worst experiences were both against Sheffield United, beating them at the Lamex in Novermber of the 2011/12 season, but then losing to them in the play-off semi final of the same season. Growing up a Wednesday fan it's always good to see United losing, but don't ask me about Stevenage 5 Sheffield Wednesday 1, I nearly exploded that day.

How important is Saturday for you and what do you think the outcome will be?

I don't think it's helpful to over-egg the importance of a single game. I wouldn't call it a must win. Every game is important though due to the hole our pre Christmas form has left us in. We particularly need better results against the teams around us in the league, so clearly we desperately need to get one over on you tomorrow!

What formation and starting 11 do you see Graham Westley choosing?

Westley will go 4,4,2. I expect to be unchanged from Swindon on Tuesday with Day in goal, Smith at right back, Hartley at left back, Jones and Ashton center backs. Doughty and Heslop in central midfield, Freeman left mid, Morais right mid, Akins and Zoko up front. Morais, Freeman and Akins will rotate positions throughout the game. We have had a couple of loan signings recently but I wouldn't expect to see them in the starting line up, maybe from the bench.

Which Stevenage players do you feel pose Notts County their main threat?

Zoko is obviously our most potent goal threat but Freeman is our man most likely to take someone on, beat them and create space for the rest of the team. He has great pace and technical ability and is deceptively strong for his size, if he can get his decision making and end product right he will follow in George Boyd's footsteps and play at the highest level.

How would you handle the main threats to Stevenage and which opposition players do you think will be key to have mark out of the game?

Enoch Showumni has goals in him, and Danny Haynes's pace will be a threat since our back 4 is short of pace. If If we can keep you playing in front of us and stop you threading through balls behind the back-line that will make the afternoon a lot more comfortable.

What is Stevenage like for travelling supporters? Can you tell us where opposition fans might find parking or things to do before kick off?

Stevenage is a friendly town and club. The East Terrace fans do like some banter with the away fans, but it is all good natured and comedy away fans get great respect. Parking near the ground is limited. Fairlands Valley Park has match day car-parking and is easily reached. If coming from the A1(M), follow the A602 as it should lead you to the car park, which will be on the left. If coming from the A10 along the A602, you will have to double back on yourself at the roundabout outside the ground to reach the car park. (Pinched from http://www.boroguide.co.uk/clubs/stevenage.php#.UtlASvvLcts a great resource for away fans).

The station is 15 minutes walk from the ground and is well sign-posted.

If you are at Stevenage early your best bet is to head up to the Old Town where the best restuarants and pubs are. In the New Town you will find a high street full of generic shops and a Wetherspoons like every other town center you've ever been to. Nearer to the ground Our Mutual Friend is a CAMRA pub with great real ales and ciders, and there is also a bar behind the away stand called The Broadhall Suite in which home and away fans can watch the lunchtime kick-off amicably. If you fancy a pre match stroll head north from the ground through Fairlands Valley Park which has woodland and lakes. It will be very muddy at this time of year though!

Pride of Nottingham would like to thank Patrick for stepping in and recovering this feature as all seemed lost. We wish Stevenage FC all the best with regards to the rest of their season and hopefully the best team will win on Saturday.

Carlisle seem a little inconstant at the moment, similar to Tranmere they can score but they have issues at the back which is for Notts to expose on Saturday. Nobody can questions them as a football outfit, as they have beaten Sheffield United already and a lose to Port Vale, just shows the level of inconstancy. Notts on the other hand are looking up at them literally and on the back of one impressive display, isn't enough to say this game will be easy. We've taken the time to speak to two Carlisle United fans, they've kindly answered our questions which you can read below.

Firstly, could you please tell prideofnottingham.co.uk a little about youself such as how long you've been a Carlisle fan?

Josie; I am a 57year old disabled single parent with three grown up girls and now have four grandchildren as of 12th September when my youngest granddaughter was born. I have been a supporter of Carlisle United since 1974 and a season ticket holder for the last four or five years. I think this is my sixth season as a season ticket holder. Before that I used to just go to as many games as I could. Now it is unusual for me to miss a home game. As my health is not brilliant I haven't made it to any away games this season but last season we did get to some. Before that we made most of the away games within a two to three hour coach trip.

Jack; I am 16, my names Jack and I have been a Carlisle fan for quite a while now, since I was about 6.

What is your opinion on your current managerial situation?

Josie; I'll give you the printable version. I liked Greg Abbot as a person and as a manager. However, for some reason he was not able to get the players to play to their potential for almost a year now. After year on year success we hit the doldrums. A change won't necessarily help us much, but heads as they say needed to roll. I hope we don't get the caretaker manager given the job full time as Kav has no managerial experience and at this stage in the season with the results the way they have been for the last year we really need someone with a proven track record.

Jack; I was a big fan of Greg Abbott, but with the start we have had and the disappointment of last season it was probably the correct decision. I am also pleased that the board have given Graham Kavanagh a chance, I and many others did think it would be a case of same old same old, but he has proven he is man a man with his own ideas. Favourite to get the job full-time.

What are your expectations for this season in cups as well as in the league?

Josie; I think we will perhaps do better in the league than in the cups.. which isn't saying much. I would like to see us finish about 18th in the table if we can manage it. Consolidate.

Jack; We've had decent cup runs in past seasons, two Wembley finals in the JPT and hosting Spurs and Brunton Park last season. I would hope that this year we reach the 3rd round of the FA Cup, that's the one competition that we never seem to progress in. The JPT I would like to think we could go all the way again. League? 12th-14th.

Can you tell us a bit about your squad including the latest signings?

Josie; Because we have loan players coming in and out all the time it's a bit confusing right now. Our mainstay in the back four, Danny Livesey, has been out with injury and we miss him badly, not just for his bravery (he puts his head where a lot of players wouldn't even dare put their feet!) but for his wealth of experience in the game and the present team. Sean O'Hanlon has become a good partner for him but is only recently back from injury himself. Townsend looks tidy, and experienced, and I hope he stays as he is due to finish his loan period after the Notts game. Midfield we really struggle but hopefully our recently promoted youth player Brad Potts can stay there instead of having to stand in at right back, as he is more useful in midfield. Berrett had a shocker of a last season but seems to finally have returned to a bit of form. On his day he's brilliant but he has had too many bad days lately. Thirwell is a very experienced player and will more than likely command the midfield. Not sure who Kav will put in because we have some injuries in a thin squad. I am sure if he is able to play, Miller will start, but he's a bit doubtful for the Notts game. Amoo is beginning to settle and seems a really good all rounder. He's had five goals in all games so far which is a good record in a bad season. Matt Robson is quick and clever and can score given the tiniest of chances. However, he sometimes gets played out of position when we are short in the back four so I'm not sure how much he will be able to do on Saturday.

Jack; We have used 28 players so far this season (Inc Unused subs) the highest figure in league one. It's been hard to track who's in and who's out. Two loanees who have come in and made a real difference are Left-back Conor Townsend (Hull) & Troy Archibald-Henville (Swindon), for the first time in a long time it looks like a settled back line (For now).

What formation do you expect Carlisle to start with and how do you see the game progressing?

Josie; Kav is an unknown quantity as manager still so I'm not sure whether he will go for 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 or even 4-5-1 with Miller up front on his own. I hope if he goes for 4-5-1 he has Robson and Amoo wide midfield to service crosses in for Miller. Berret, Potts and possibly Noble in the midfield to hold up the ball and the back four would be possibly Livesey (if fit) Townsend O'Hanlon and I would love to say Chantler but he's also an injured player right now. Our squad is THIN!±!!!

Jack; I'd expect us to line up with a 4-5-1 formation. Lee Miller, who I'm sure all Notts fans will remember, will lead the line providing he has recovered from a knock he picked up at Stevenage. I think we'll win the game, but it will be a tight affair...2-1 Carlisle.

What have been your best and worst experiences as a Carlisle fan?

Josie; Best is a toss up between winning the old Division One in 1974, the Johnstons Paint Trophy Win over Brentford, or taking Leeds to penalties and beating them in the same northern final of the JPTrophy. Worst... one very embarrassing game last season that I have expunged from my memory except for the fact that for the first time in my time with Carlisle I felt nobody was even TRYING to win the game I didn't want to talk about the match afterward it was so awful.

Jack; My best experiences supporting Carlisle has to be the 1-0 V Brentford at Wembley. Nothing better than seeing your team win at the national stadium. Other than that, going to the Brittania Stadium and seeing Carlisle win in the Conference play-off final was one my earliest memories, and one that will stick me for years to come. Worst memory, League One semi-final V Leeds. I still remember that night, sitting in my room as a 10 year with 5live on the radio shedding a tear or two when Jonathan Howson scored in the 90th minute to give them the 3-2 win on aggregate.

If you could sign any player from the Football League who would you choose and why?

Josie; I would love to see Danny Graham or Rory Delap come back to Carlisle because they were such popular players during their time at Carlisle and they have gone on to bigger and better things, but for a new face... possibly Jack Wilshire because I think he has incredible potential in all areas of the pitch and on his day can be as good as anyone.

Jack; Tough question. Grant Holt I would love to see in a Carlisle shirt, he loves the club.

Which Notts players (if any) do you see causing you problems (in all areas of the pitch)?

Josie; At the moment, I would say your back four are our major hurdle as it doesn't matter how well we defend, if we can't SCORE we won't win!!! We haven't been able to finish games off if we go ahead. apart from the last two that is.

Jack; I follow a few Notts fans on twitter and the seem impressed with McGregor & Grealish, both players on loan I believe. Danny Haynes will also be another one to watch.

Which players do you see causing Notts problems?

Josie; Amoo and Robson, if both are fit and start the game. Possibly Gillespie

Jack; David Amoo, our leading scorer this season and he has been a pleasure to watch. I was rather sceptical at first, with both Tranmere and Preston fans saying he was frankly garbage but he has been anything but that since arriving. Matty Robson on the left has 2 goals in his last 2 games. Lee Miller (if fit) will put himself about and hopefully add to his tally of 1 goal this season.

Notts have not had the best of starts to this season, what do you think of our prospects?

Josie; I don't judge a season by a few games. Carlisle seems to make a habit of giving themselves an uphill battle by losing quite a few at the beginning and then struggling to climb over the hurdles they have set themselves I am sure Notts will finish near the middle of the table. We are spread very thin in many areas unfortunately.

Jack; We don't really have a rival to be honest, not at professional level anyhow. Preston & Leeds are games we all look forward to. Brunton Park is the largest football stadium in England which isn't all seated. Notts County come into the game having held their heads high at Anfield having battled for 4-2 defeat in the second half of extra time, having ended the game at 2-2. Rotherham United played on the 28th and enjoyed a game against Aston Villa, where they lost 3-0. The Millers have gotten off well so far in the season and Notts are still looking for their first home with of the season. We here at Pride of Nottingham have taken the time to speak with Miller fan "Ian" and we've asked him a series of 12th questions - Let's get behind the lads on Saturday!

This is a pretty special opposition view for us here at Pride of Nottingham. It's certainly not your typical one and although this is no doubt one of my personal favourites, I comment unbiased on how welcoming the responses. I've taken the time to speak with Matt who is currently based in Swansea, he's taken the time to answer our questions for us all to read. Liverpool will no doubt come into the game openly confident - Notts will have to play makeup with a fair portion of our fans but this is a game where they can show us fans what the shirt really means to them. Come On You Pies!

Firstly, could you tell prideofnottingham.co.uk a little about yourself, such as how long you've been a fan for?

I'm Matt originally from Southport (a seaside town with little of note), I've lived in Bournemouth, St ives and currently reside in the Premiership City of Swansea.

I grew up in a none football household in a town around 20 miles from Liverpool and in those type of families you just fall into football, I remember watching England beat San Marino 7-1 (They needed a clear 7 goals to go through and conceded after 10 seconds) and I think I just generally fell in love with heartbreak, I liked Liverpool as it was local enough and my friends on the whole generally supported them, plus the other two Everton and Manchester United had both been teams of my brother in his ever changing youth, so naturally sibling rivalry takes hold.

So far Liverpool have won their opening two games in the Premership, do you feel confident that you can overcome the recent League Cup form?

Losing to Swansea was not the worst result I have witnessed as a fan, and we won it the year before, if you mean general cup runs of recent years then yes, I think Brendan may treat them with a little more respect this season (well I hope so), I think it's a chance for him to get his hands on some silverware and so I think yes we should be though we should always be aware of opposition from the lower leagues.

We lost on Saturday to a late goal at home to Stevenage, who your rivals Everton also face in the same competition. How much would like to see Stevenage win them?

I'm a Liverpool fan, the only reason I would like to see Everton lose is it is less competition if we were to progress and that goes for several other teams, never been the biggest fan of this "anti rival" nastiness that seems to be all over football, a fan of a different club is not scum, he is a fan of football, that is a positive (It's very unique but I guess that relates back to my upbringing).

How are Liverpool fans adjusting to life with Rodger Red Hat?

I think for the majority of Liverpool fans (Though I can't speak for all) we are warming to him, I was a massive fan due to what I saw here in Swansea (Have friends who were able to get me tickets so enjoyed a lot of his first season in the premiership and also some of the promotion push). Others have had to warm to him but yeah he has got this team playing some brilliant football especially in the second half of last season, he had the hardest act to follow so in doing so he has had to work extra hard but on the whole he is a likeable bloke with ideas and the right philosophy he will hopefully go far.

Your currently being linked to Derby County young marvel Will Hughes – How do you feel about this and would you sign him if it were possible?

Will Hughes from what I know and have seen and watched is one of the most exciting prospects so yes of course it would be great but I do feel we need more "now" signings as our youth system looks full of exciting talent.

What are your hopes and aspires for the rest of your season?

Cup runs and a push for fourth, significant improvement on last season though would do, I think a cup win may help Brendan a lot.

What are match days like for you, do you travel home and away? Can you give our fans a typical insight to a Liverpool fans day?

I usually only go to home matches, I enjoy going back north, I tend to travel up on a morning if it is a saturday or if it is an lunchtime or sunday match will stay over with my brother.

I don't get to go to as many Liverpool matches as I want usually around 5 or 6 a season. My typical day would be lots of travel, a pint or two in one of the many locals near Anfield and hopefully an enjoyable 3 points, Stoke was far from enjoyable but probably the most tense and excited anfield had been in a number of years especially with the penalty save at the end.

Do you have any recollections of seeing Notts County play? If so could you please share your memory of this.

Only on Television sadly, I do like to watch alot of football and so was generally excited about the first game of the season which saw the young Liverpool product Conor Coady get a few minutes for Sheffield United, I felt you were unlucky by going down to 10 and kept the game quite tight, I expect you will be a tough opposition for us.

What formation and line-up do you think Brandon Rodgers will choose, do you feel he might field some reserves and rest some first team players?

I think he is more than likely to stick to the formation that has been put out in recent games which is a 4-2-3-1 I would expect him to rest a number of the first team but not as many as some expect, I reckon Sturridge, Toure, Agger, Johnson, Enrique and Aspas will all be missing.

Who do you see as being your main threats towards our defence?

I expect Ibe and Sterling to both play and have both looked good at premier league level, I also expect Borini to finally chip in with a decent finish or two. Sterling though will be key though as he is forever improving.

Do you know much about Notts County – If so, who do you see being a game changer for us?

I don't sorry but I expect your entire team to up for this, a trip to Anfield is always special.

Can you please tell us about Liverpool, Anfield and anything you feel that will be interesting for our travelling fans.

The people are really friendly it is one of the things you'll take away from your visit, also the food outlets across from the ground serve some really excellent grub, I couldn't recommend one as I'm a fan of most of them.

Pride of Nottingham would like to thank Matt for taking the time to answer our questions, we appreciate his responses and it's refreshing to read. I really enjoyed his views on rival clubs and couldn't help but feel the game would better if more fans were the same (excluding a bit of banter of course).

On the 4th of February 2013, on the back of the dismissal of then manager Keith Curle. Pride of Nottingham took to asking questions ahead of our opposition view, a feature where we collect the views of fans from other League One teams. We spoke to a Boro fan called 'Chris' and he provided us with his thoughts ahead of game and we decided to take time out and catch up with Chris, has he made some interesting comments regarding his clubs progress. So although we have already done our main opposition view - you might find it insightful to see how he feels now.

Last season you finished 18th, when we approached you last time you mentioned "As I've said I'm predicting a lower mid-table finish for us" How content were you with this finish?

Not happy. I didn't expect us to continue our brilliant form for the entire season, but the way in which we collapsed under Smith after the new year was extremely demoralising.

You also mentioned that none of your players posed a threat to us last season, how have things changed and did you have promising signs pre-season?

We've shipped out some of the players who seemed to put too little effort in, and brought in players who perhaps don't have the same level of natural ability but will give everything for the cause. Player to watch now would, in my opinion, be Darius Charles - whether he plays left back, centre back, or up front!

After 3 opening games, it's a little too early to see the bigger picture but how do you feel about the start to the 2013/14 campaign?

There are promising signs, but we need to start picking the points up sooner rather than later.

What did you make of the appointment of Graham Westley?

I was happy with it. Didn't understand the anger when he left, Preston being the massive club they are. After a torrid time under Smith we needn't somebody who would get the most out of our limited resources.

What formation do you see Westley choosing, along with the starting 11 players?

Previously he's generally stuck with 4-4-2, occasionally with a 4-5-1 away from home. Favoured line-up possibly being: Day; Wedgbury, Jones, Ashton (Captain Fantastic), Hartley; Morais, Dunne, Tansey, Freeman; López, Charles

How do you see this season going and where do you see Stevenage finishing?

Probably about the same as last season, but with hopeful signs for next season and a squad that the manager gets the most out of! I'll say 17th.

If you found this to be interesting, why not have a read of the Opposition View from last season.

Notts County obviously come into this game in a very similar situation, after lost their opening two games and coming away from Walsall having earned a draw. Stevenage haven't yet collected a single point, as they have lost all three of their opening games. They lost 3-4 to Oldham on the 3rd of August and narrowly lost by one goal each to Swindon and Leyton Orient. Pride of Nottingham's taken the time to speak with traveling fan Gareth, who has kindly taken time out of his evening to answer our questions. We hope you enjoy this feature and find it to be useful information - You Pies!

Firstly, could you tell prideofnottingham.co.uk a little about yourself, such as how long you've been a fan for?

I'm 28 years old and been a fan for about 8 years now.

How do you feel about the ending of last seasons campaign and did you query any of the players who were released?

Was quite releaved to see the back of last season really. Was a complete disaster from about October time. No queries about any of the players that were released, I trust the managers judgement over my own.

Can you tell me about your pre-season, the signings you've made and how things were generally with the club with regards to the new season?

Pre-season was generally successful. Had quite a few new faces brought in again and they look decent, Sam Wedgbury especially at right back has stood out. We had a good victory over a QPR team that had a few first team players in the squad, We were on par with a strong Leeds team for 60 minutes before conceding a couple of goals. Smashed my hometown team of Biggleswade 6-0 in what was a very enjoyable day.

After 3 opening games, it's a little too early to see the bigger picture but how do you feel about the start to the 2013/14 campaign?

Although results don't lie, and we have lost all 3 league matches so far, I've seen some promising signs from most of the new players. We had an excellent victory in the cup against Ipswich sandwiched between our league games which was a nice one to win.

Realistically how do you see Saturday ending and are you confident about the game?

I'd be happy with a point on Saturday, just so we can get off the mark and I suspect that is what we will get out of the game.

How do you see your season going and where do you think you will finish?

Graham Westley has always been known to have a strong finish to the season. I think we won 14 out of our last 15 matches when we won the conference, conceding only 3 goals in the process. I can't really see us troubling the promotion places this season, top half would be an excellent season in my eyes. I always tell everyone that I think we will finish top of the bottom third this season. In reality anything above the relegation places will do just nicely.

Out of all the League One clubs, which have you been looking forward to seeing and why?

I'm most looking forward to visiting Peterboro away, Mainly because it is local and will make for a good drinking opportunity. I've actually watched Peterboro vs Notts County twice over the years, as a friend of mine has a Notts County supporting Dad so I tagged along a couple of times.

Which Stevenage players would you see posing a threat to the Notts County defence?

Luke Freeman is always a threat when on the ball and can create a chance out of nothing. Greg Tansey will also cause trouble if he has his shooting boots on and Darius Charles will be a handful if he plays as a striker for this one.

Who would you have marked on Saturday and who would you point out to be our danger-men?

Enoch Showumni sounds like he has had a decent start to the season so I reckon he could be the danger man.

Averagely how many games do you make in a season, including cup games?

I make every home league and cup games and always try to make it to about 4 or 5 away games.

League One is understandably harder this season, we've seen some big clubs fall and some others return to it. Who do you feel will go up this season?

Probably the toughest set of teams in league 1 since we entered it. I have money on Wolves to win the league so I expect them to go up. Could be joined by any out of about 10 teams but I expect Peterboro to grab the runners up place and Brentford to win the play-offs after just missing out last season .

Finally, what are the positives you can point out about your team right now?

Positives about the team is that the players now seem to always give 110%. They may not technically be the best players in the league but you can guarantee that anyone that plays under Graham Westley will give it their absolute all. Were in a bit of a transition period again with a lot of changes to the squad since the end of last season so it's going to take time for the team to gel properly but I think we should be Ok.

Pride of Nottingham would like to thank Gareth for taking the time to answer our questions. Please keep tuned for a special update from one of our previous opposition fans, as we catch up with Chris. A Boro fan who we spoke to last season.

This week for the Walsall game we've taken to asking our very own Saddlers resident on Pride of Nottingham, SadLad who originally joined us after seeing me request for a fans view. He's taken the time to answer 12th questions which are hoped to provide us Notts fans with a general insight into the game on Saturday. Walsall come into the game having not lost any of their opening matches, which will see Notts attempt to notch up our first point or fingers crossed we can leave having taken all three! Pride of Nottingham hopes you enjoy one of our most popular features.

Firstly, could you tell prideofnottingham.co.uk a little about yourself, such as how long you've been a fan for?

I have been supporting Walsall for just over 47 years. My first match was on 23rd April 1966 V Oldham Athletic. I can remember bits of it even now, all these years on. That was the only match I went to that season. Like most boys of my age (I was eight then) I was hooked to football in general that summer with all the hype of the World Cup and England actually winning it! I knew then I had to get myself down Fellows Park for the first game of the 1966-7 season and I have been following Walsall FC ever since. We played at that ground up to 1990 so I had 24 seasons of watching my football at dear old Fellows Park and now 23 seasons at Bescot Stadium.I have been a season ticket holder for the last 28 seasons and I rarely miss an away match.

How have things been in pre-season and which signings are leaving an early impression?

We had a bit of an unsual start to our pre-season as we went on a three match tour of Trinidad and Tobago of all places! It was by invitation as a Scottish club had to back out and it cost the club nothing as we merely took their place! Walsall were unbeaten in those games, winning 2 and drawing one. Back home there were three home games againt Leeds United which we won 1-0 followed by a 1-2 defeat to Nottm Forest and a 0-5 reverse to Aston Villa, just three days before the opening day of the league season. Dean Smith didn't want to risk any injuries so put out a team of young fringe players and a couple of trialists whereas Villa put out their first team. New signings have been goalkeeper Richard O' Donnell plus Milan Lalkovic,Troy Hewitt, Romaine Sawyers and James Mc Quilkin. The keeper, O'Donnell, is gaining confidence all the while but the one the fans are raving about is striker Lalkovic who is on a six months loan from Chelsea.

Walsall have got off to a flying start, are you happy with the opening performances?

Indeed, Walsall have got off to a flyer with a 3-1 home win against Tranmere Rovers and last Saturday a 1-0 victory at Oldham. In between was a 2-1 Capital One win at Port Vale. The Tranmere game was a continuation of our for from the final third of last season, playing their own brand of 'sexy football.' The oldham game was a combination of good football and sound defending. Pott Vale was a tough one but we played well enough. Yes overall delighted with the start.

Are you familiar with signings made by Notts County and what are your thoughts on us signing Danny Haynes?

Of the signings you have made this summer the ones I know about are Mark Fotheringham and Danny Haynes. The former I remember from his days at Celtic and also Norwich City. Danny Hayes I remember him playing for the likes of Bristol City and Ipswich Town. Both midfielders who should provide some bite for County.

Which League One teams do you feel have made the best summer signings and why?

I would have to say Sheffield United. They seem to have covered all departments and the stand out ones are Stephen Mc Ginn, a centre midfielder from Watford, Sean McGinty a young centre back from Manchester United and a player we all know about from his season at Walsall, Febian Brandy. He has got pace and an eye for goal and I can see him grabbing his fair share of goals this season.

Who do you see struggling this season and who would your four relegated predictions be?

Tranmere, Crawley, Stevenage and Shrewsbury.

How pleased are you with Craig Westcarr and in general do you like him as a footballer?

Craig Westcarr! Has done a great job this season. I do like him as a footballer yes. He holds the ball up so well and has scored some goals already this term. He seems to have lost a bit of weight . He took a long time to actually sign a contract over the summer and there were fears he would go but no, to the delight of the fans he has signed.

Can you please share a good memory and a disappointing memory from watching Notts as a Sadler fan?

Good memory- at Meadow Lane for the Play Off Semi Final in 1987-8 season. On a warm sunny afternoon, Craig Shakespeare and a brace from hot-shot David Kelly saw Saddlers home. Willie Naughton produced a superb ball for 'Shakey' to slot home. One of Kelly's goals was a checky back flick which caught the defence out big time. 'Ned' always claims he meant it.

Bad memory- same season in the league game back end of April at Fellows Park, Although Saddlers won 2-1, a reckless tackle by Derek Kevan in the first minute effectively ended Paul Jones's career. There was absolutely no need for it and the game was held up for a long time after the bad leg break. I chatted to Paul Jones last season at a game at Walsall and 25 years on he is still disappointed with that tackle.

Tell us who you feel will be Notts County's key players and who you'd have mark them?

A great battle should be between Anoch Showunmi and Andy Butler! Two powerful men and they have had some interesting tussles in the past when Tranmere played Walsall. Enoch is about four inches taller mind! Adam Chambers and Andy Fothringham should be another good contest I feel.

Out of your offensive players, which do you see posing a risk to Notts County's defence?

Craig Westcarr and Nilan Lalkovic will be the main ones but don't rule out midfielder Sam Mantom who strikes the ball well. Winger James Baxendale has alreader scored two as well.

Where do you see Walsall and Notts finishing? Also, who do you see automatically gaining promotion?

Sheffield United have come so close the last couple of years and I think it will be their team to gain automatic promotion. Wolverhampton Wanderers will surely take another automatic spot. Kenny Jacket is the man to lead them back up the leagues I feel. MK Dons may sneek in to. Walsall should finish 7th, just missing out on the play offs, but a slight improvement on last season and Notts Coumty I would say 12th spot.

Please tell us about Walsall and the surrounding area, including Bescot Stadium?

Walsall is about 10 miles north of Birmingham and has a population of over 250,000. It was once a very thriving industrial town best known for its many leather works which was the trade from which the town's football team took its knickname 'The Saddlers'. There were dozens of small leather works who specialised in saddles manufacturing. Walsall Football Club is in the suburb of Bescot, to the south of the town about two miles from the centre. The M6 motorway runs right by the stadium in an elevated section. The Walsall - Birmingham railway line also runs nearby and Bescot Stadium Station is just two minues walk to the away end. The nearest motorway junction (Junction 9 of the M6) is only about a mile away and the large supermarket on the way to the junction (Morrison's) is where the former Fellows Park once stood.

Pride of Nottingham would like to thank our very Walsall resident SadLad for taking the time to answer our questions, we wish Walsall all the very best with their season ahead.

Peterborough United come into this game having not lost in the league or cup, they enjoyed a narrow but exciting one nil win over Swindon Town on the 3rd of this month. They also beat Colchester United five goals to one in the Capital One Cup, which indicates the level of opposition we are up against here at Meadow Lane on this very Saturday.

Pride of Nottingham is again delighted to bring you the views of a Posh fan, we hope that you enjoy this feature and of course have a look around out site after. We're very keen to provide a good reliable source of content to fellow Notts fans, so please bookmark us! Come One You Pies!!

Firstly, could you tell prideofnottingham.co.uk a little about yourself, such as how long you've been a fan for?

Firstly I'm Aaron Shelton born in Peterborough, grew up in london so get some funny looks when I say I'm a posh fan but I support where I come from, luckily back living in Boro now, been going to games last 5/6 years on a regular basis, last 3 years home and away.

Can you please tell us about your pre-season, such as how you feel it went and are you happy with the signings you've made?

Pre season has been good for the posh, went on a tour of Ireland, draw 1-1 with shelbourne, then another draw 2-2 with UCD. Beat QPR 1-0 with a late winner which surprised many of our fans, we then suffered a shock defeat against Mansfield losing 4-2, credit to Mansfield there goals were screamers, the posh then bounced back Beating our biggest rivals Northampton with a 1-0 win. We also draw 1-1 to Watford but then lost 1-0 to hull at London road but that was another belter. Overall I am very happy with the signings, we signed jack Payne from gillingham who was on loan with us last season, great central midfielder works very hard and not afraid to put a challenge in, we also signed Britt assabalonga for a club record fee from Watford, he has impressed all at London road in his opening games, by scoring on his debut vs Swindon, very powerful quick and excellent work rate only problem is we're not sure how to say his name. We've also signed a promising young goal keeper from the states who is certainly one for the future.

It's quite rare in football that you see a manager return to a former club and remain successful, what do you make of Darren Ferguson’s return and do you think he can continue to be successful at Peterborough?

We all love fergie, he got us 2 straight promotions when just a few years before we were fighting to even stay in the football league, he deserves all the credit he gets, was tough for us to loose him but let's face it he went to a bigger club with more money would of been daft to stay with us, he then came back and gave us that extra boost for promotion back to the championship, I hope he sees out his contract and goes on to extend it, he can certainly give us a chance of one day just make reaching the prem.

Your teams widely known for being creative and a real attacking threat, on Saturday you narrowly won Swindon and on Tuesday you hammered Colchester away in the Capital One Cup. Can you give me your thoughts on these two games?

We are one of the most entertaining sides in the world, sounds big headed but just look at the amount of goals we score. Swindon at home was a very close game but we looked very comfortable all game, Colchester the first 50 minutes were tough we didn't play how we all know we can, then suddenly the one touch football came in the touches and skills of lee Tomlin and Daniel kearns really came into play, controlled the game, 2 great goals from lee Tomlin, big Tyrone Barnett scored a header, fan favourites tommy Rowe and zakuani also got on the score sheet.Tomlin, nlthe, Alcock, kearns and tommy Rowe all had stand out games but in fairness every player had an excellent game.

Coming into the game, Notts have a slight issue at the back with one centre back being injured and two others being suspended. How do you feel the game will go?

The suspensions for notts county will really help posh, a weakened defence for county will surely mean goals for posh and if we play the way we can we could run riot, but all depends if the players turn up in the right frame of mind. I believe will be a 3-1 win for posh but can't count county out they will always be a threat.

Which game(s) are you most looking forward to this season and why?

The first fixture I looks for was wolves away because they will most likely be a big contender to win the league, mk dons I think every posh fan looks for because we have a little rivalry with them. County was also a stand out for me because Nottingham is good day out.

Can you tell us who you see going up this season?

All honestly I believe posh will go up, hopefully as champions, wolves or Bristol city could also in my opinion but I think Rotherham could surprise a few in the play offs.

How much would it mean to you and Peterborough fans especially to become established in the Championship and how far do you feel you are from this?

Would mean a hell of a lot to get back in the championship especially due to the way we went down, we were robbed by a bad decision and a late Kevin Phillips goal. I believe all we need is maybe one more star player, whether it be in defence or just a proven goal scorer and we could easily make ourselves an established championship team, but the real hold back for us is our support in the city, we have a large city but not enough fans of the posh, most support the likes of Manchester United, arsenal and Chelsea.

Who are your main treats to Notts County on Saturday, can you single any players out?

Lee Tomlin and assabalonga is a certain threat against notts county, Daniel kearns has also really impressed of late. Rowe/McCann/bostwick are also a threat due to there creative play, McCann and bostwick certainly know how to hit a ball.

Which players would you have marked tightly and who do you consider to be a threat to Peterborough?

Not to threatened by any particular players from county but Showumni scored a belter vs Sheffield united so will need to look out for him.

What formation and team would you start with and why?

4-4-2 seems like the formation. We're playing as of late, I would stick with exactly the same squad as against Colchester;Olejnik, ntlhe, zakuani, bostwick, alcock, McCann, kearns, rowe, tomlin, assombalonga, barnett. Payne and Swanson could also be played. Guaranteed goals on Saturday.

Please tell us what your thoughts are of Nottingham and how many times have you visited Meadow Lane?

I've never actually been to meadow lane before will be my first time on Saturday, however I went to first last season and was a great day out, plenty of things to do plenty of pubs and a great atmosphere from the locals, always nice to see the statue of Brian Clough in the centre as well.

Pride of Nottingham would like to thank Arron for taking the time to answer our questions, we wish him all the very best.

Pride of Nottingham's delighted that we was able to bring this feature for the Capital One Cup clash against Fleetwood Town. Below you will be able to read questions aimed to learn more about our opposition and we cannot thank Liam enough for stepping in at the very last minute to save us from missing this feature. It's always good when you can see football coming together, so this makes an excellent addition to our growing opposition views. Pride of Nottingham hopes you find this interesting! Please keep tuned for our next one which will be against Peterborough United.

Firstly, could you tell prideofnottingham.co.uk a little about yourself, such as how long you've been a fan for?

I've been a fan of Fleetwood since the appointment of Tony Greenwood back in 2003, but on a just follow basis, but a regular since there inclusion of the northern premier back in 2007 (I think, memory has gone). I work at sea as an Merchant Navy officer so can only go when I'm on leave, but I am a season ticket holder with my brother, I'm a local lad so have grown up around the town, I'm 26, even though my good looks say differently, he he.

What are you expecting from the season this year, both in the cup(s) and league?

League wise, I'd say minimum play offs with the signings we've had, and traditional our Chairman doesn't like to stay in the same league longer than 2 years, we've always gained promotion in the second year of the league, so big fingers crossed!!

Cup, don't really know this year as a cup run is always nice but personal I'd prefer to concentrate on the league and do the graft there, but the cup does have something about it and it could/does bring big clubs to the lower league clubs (Bradford last year is a great example)

Can you tell us about some of your squads newest additions?

Great summer signings and as always the chairman does like to do business early so new team members can settle into the squad. I think bringing in the skipper Mark Robberts is brilliant, pure leader on the pitch, Ryan Cresswell is a brilliant centre half, both like to get on the team sheet scoring wise, but personally I think Antonio Sarcevic is the one to look out for in our league.

How do you see the game going and what formation do you see Graham Alexander starting with?

I'd like to say we'd stuff you but I don't think we will, although we did give Preston a good hiding in pre-season. Formation, a solid back of 4, 4, 2, but our wingers pushing forward creating space on the wings and giving Matt the need space to work his magic, hopefully.

What did you make of Jeff Hughes performance against Dagenham and Redbridge?

Unfortunately I was away for the opener of preseason but from all reports Town played with the passion and desire they were lacking at parts of last season, a massive plus for the fans to see.

Can you tell us about your highest and lowest point whilst supporting Fleetwood Town?

Highest has to be the opening game in the football league, what an achievement from where as a club we have come from, also the local derby against Blackpool in the FA cup, although we got battered by them, it was a brilliant run just to get to play them and the rivalry/banter was brilliant.

Lowest for me was the play offs against wimbledon to get out of the Conference, the less said the better, we played really poor, but we bounced back next season and were the champions.

If you could sign any player from the Football League realistically speaking, who would you choose and why?

A lot of Fleetwood fans would agree that we would love to have Jamie Vardy back, we sold him to Leicester for a record £1million, and he was brilliant, he just knew where the goal was, would be amazing to have him back in the squad we have currently, we missed him when he went.

What would say is the most important thing about supporting a football team?

You've got to follow your team through thick and thin, Town is a very involved community club (I think we are the smallest by population in the entire league) so you sort of know everyone, but it's great to be part of what's going on here. Every club has its moaners but that's life I suppose.

Who do you see as being a threat to Fleetwood Town, are there any Notts County players you feel should be tightly marked?

Gary Liddle is a big lad and know doubt could cause us some problems on corners etc. I remember Ryce scoring a few goals for you last season but i may be wrong, to be honest you play at a higher level than us and it will be a good test to see if we can compete against a team such as yourselves as we are trying to gain promote to play in your league.

Please tell us a bit about the players who you would consider to be your danger men?

As said above Antonio Sarcevic is a threat, young talented lad and work rate is really good. If he's back fit, you'll have to watch out for the beast that is Jon Parking, just his pure size is an amazement, he he.

What's your thoughts on Notts County's shirts this season? Both shirts have received some split decision comments from fans of the footballing world.

It's very barcode like, but at the end of the days your going to wear it and if your a fan, with pride. The pink shirt, ha ha, brilliant, real men wear pink, so I'm told!!

We've had a new kit sponsor this season and our home kit is really nice but the away one, a lot has to be desired.

Have you ever visited Meadow Lane before?

Unfortunate not but its on my list, may be next year!!

Pride of Nottingham would like to thank Liam for taking the time to answer our questions, we also wish them the very best with their campaign this season - as they push for promotion.

Firstly, could you tell prideofnottingham.co.uk a little about yourself, such as how long you've been a fan for?

Linsbord; I just turned 50 and my first game watching United was in November 1971 when we beat Ipswich 7-0. I thought football was great but I've been waiting for a similar performance since.

YouFUMS; I was born a Blade in 1965, and I must have been to my first game around 4 years later. My grandad was a keen football fan, and used to take me along to Bramall lane with him. My earliest memories are of a 3 sided football stadium, with the 4th side housing the cricket pavillion. Watching great players such as Alan Woodward, Geoff Salmon, Tony Currie, and my boyhood favourite, Trevor Hockey.

The curse has stayed with me, and I have followed United to over 80 different grounds over the years. The Blades gene has been passed onto my 2 sons, and my 1 year grandson is already enrolled as a junior Blade...Childline have been informed!

40+ years of heartache and underachieving - sound familiar?- has been interspersed with spells of mediocrity, and an occasional highlight....cup semi-finals...play-off defeats...and flirtations in the top league. However, Your football club is part of what makes you who you are, and nothing will ever change that.

Are you happy with your pre-season, signings and new shirt(s)?

Linsbord; I'm happy with pre-season so far. The new manager has completely changed the style of play and it's great to see the kind of football we haven't really seen since Nigel Spackman left in 1998. In terms of new recruits we have Brandy, who you'll be familiar with and who is now starting to deliver on all that potential he showed previously. Still only 23 and a proper handful nowadays. McGinn looks a tidy CMF and Conor Coady on loan from Liverpool and the England U-20 Captain looks a very assured young footballer. Lyle Taylor was prolific for Falkirk last season but we know that doesn't mean he can cut it in the English Leagues. He does however possess a trick or two and has plenty of pace. McGinty and Johns, from Man Utd and Everton respectively, are really more development players and will probably see action in the cups or later in the season. So far we've retained George Long in goal and Harry Maguire at CB so I'm happy with that too.

I like the design of the new home shirt but not the quality of the fabric or the 'iron-on' sponsor logos. The away shirt is a catastrophe and looks like a Norwich reject. The worst part of it is the fact that it says 'football manager - hand held' on the back. I'll let you work out your own connotations of being handheld by a football manager - embarrassing stuff.

YouFUMS; Very happy that we have targetted young players. The oldest of the 6 new signings is 24 year old. We lacked pace last season, so the additions of Lyle Taylor and Febian Brandy will give opposition defenders something to worry about. We've added a defensive midfielder in Stephen McGinn to put pressure on captain Michael Doyles position, and have the bright young prospect, Conor Coady, in on loan from Liverpool. He's captained the England U'21s and made a couple of appearances for the scousers last season, so obviously has some pedigree. The final 2 signings are 19 yr old defenders, Sean McGinty and Jasper Johns, released from Man U and Everton.

I'm not one for buying a new replica shirt each year, I much prefer my Toffs 1971 replica. This years new home shirt looked pretty good when I saw pictures on the net and I was tempted into the club shop before our home friendly game last week. Trouble is, there are too many sponsor logos on the thing. The worse one being the 'Football Manager' on the middle of the back. I'm pretty used to one or two people pointing and sniggering behind my back, but this would cause severe paranoia, so I gave it a miss. The away shirt does nothing for me...it's yellow..it looks like a Norwich cast off. It could be a lot worse, have you seen your new away monstrosity?

How disappointed were you on missing out on promotion to the championship?

Linsbord; I wasn't remotely disappointed about failing to get promoted last season. Let me explain. The season before, of course we were disappointed. We had one of the highest goals-for tallies in Europe and were only 2nd in English football scoring behind Man City, yet our main striker gets locked up and we end up getting pipped at the post by our deadliest rivals. THAT season we played some great stuff and I was very disappointed although, as I was living darn sarf at the time I got to go to some great away games such as Yeovil, Charlton, Brentford, Bournemouth etc. However, last season Danny Wilson lost his bottle. Instead of wanting to go out and beat everybody he concentrated only on 'not losing'. This led to dour, slow and predictable football and I was glad to see the season finish to be honest. I was actually pleased we failed in the playoffs because I was afraid we would try the same tactics in the championship and thereby end up back down where we started.

YouFUMS; I think we all knew how it would end, once we were confirmed in the play-offs last season. We'd gone into the last 5 games in poor form, and our Chairman had made another ridiculous footballing decision by sacking Danny wilson, and giving the job to Chris Morgan. Expectancy was low, and it was no surprise that we whimpered out to Yeovil.

Where do you see Sheffield United finishing this season?

Linsbord; Where do I see us finishing this season? Well we have a new manager, new system, several new players so I do think it'll take a few months for it all to click into place. I'm happy for us to build up a head of steam to become a force in the League even if it takes 2 seasons providing we can see some genuine progress. Having said that, I do expect us to finish in the top 6, especially as 2 excellent players in Miller and Diego de Girolamo will be back fit around the turn of the year so watch out for us in the run-in. I think we'll get stronger as we go, so I'll say my heart says top 2, my head says 4th or 5th.

YouFUMS; A lot depends on how well we start. New manager, new players, new system. I can see us getting stronger as the season progresses. If we can hit the ground running, then there's no reason why we can't be pressing for a top 2 finish. In reality, I think it may take time for players and systems to bed in, but we could finish the season strongly, and for once be favourites to get up through the play-offs.

On the 10th of June 2013, David Weir became manager. How is he settling in and what was your thoughts on this his appointment at the time?

Linsbord; David Weir. At the time of the appointment, a huge relief. They were looking to give it to Robert Page or Michael Appleton. David Weir came from nowhere, I'm told a call from Moyes to our Owner set the ball rolling, and I have to say I'm delighted. He's calm, intelligent, hugely respected, and he is starting to introduce some excellent tactics into the players. The guy clearly knows what he's doing and we're generally buzzing here about our prospects for the new season, if only in the expectation of hugely higher levels of entertainment.

YouFUMS; Fantastic appointment that has united our fanbase and given us new hope. When you consider some of the candidates that we were being linked with; Chris Morgan, Gareth Southgate, Robert Page, Wally Downes, Keith Curle Then to get someone like Weir, with all his playing experience and contacts in the game, a man who comes across as very knowledgeable and well respected. Then we can't help but be excited.

Since our last opposition view with a Sheffield United fan, James Beattie's moved into management. Would you have liked to of kept him on?

Linsbord; James Beattie. Superb the first time around, should have kept him then. Second time around he was fatter, slower, and spent all his time trying to fight with defenders. A waste of time. I wish him well but have no problem with us letting him go.

YouFUMS; Beattie is yesterdays man. He was great when we first had him in our team, scoring for fun...well, actually scoring for a reputed 30k per week!! We sold him at the wrong time, again that was a chairman decision, as I believe his goals could have got us back to the PL. However, to take him back after his stints at Rangers and Blackpool was an even worse decision as he contributed very little.

Can you single out your main threats to Notts County and who's been your best player in your pre-season?

Linsbord; Main threats....Porter or Taylor as core striker, Brandy and Murphy joining in from the wings, MacDonald pulling the strings behind the striker. I'm not giving anything away there because a delegation from Meadow Lane were at our friendly with Atromitos last Friday.

YouFUMS; I would have said Lyle Taylor. 29 goals in 42 games for Falkirk last season. But he may not start due to the form that Chris Porter has shown in pre-season. Porter is generally a scapegoat for Blades fans, but I admire the way he gets on with things. He knows his limitations, plays to his strengths; uses his height, holds the ball up, and gets the occassional crucial goal. He always seems to play well against Nottingham County

The player that I think could be the difference in the game is Febian Brandy. Top assists player for Walsall last season. He is so quick and direct, he will terrorise many defenders this season. I think this could be a 'breakout' season for him.

Another threat is Jamie Murphy. He took time to settle in last season after leaving Scotland. We have so many scots around the place this year, that he probably feels like he's still back home. He has been in good form pre-season.

Which Notts County player(s) do you see posing a threat to your team?

Linsbord; County have some good players and have made some astute signings, with pace and creativity amongst them. I think you will do well this season and before a ball is kicked I have you down for top 8 with playoff potential. At this stage I'd pick out Fotheringham, Haynes and Dumbuya as ones to watch from the clutch of new players but I do think you'll miss Judge. We all wanted him down here

YouFUMS; Obviously a player like Haynes is always a threat. He has power, pace and an eye for goal. Our centre halves are strong in the air, but always look clumsy when a player is runnung at them. I also like that big oaf, Showumni. Is Sheehan still in your team? If so, then you have a player capable of putting some dead balls for Enoch to attack, that could make it difficult for us.

What formation and team do you see David Weir starting with?

Linsbord; No comment.

YouFUMS; From what we've seen so far, he likes to keep the centre of the park very tight, with 2 defensive midfielders, but also likes to use the wings in attack. So the formation is a 4-2-3-1. This then can easily change to 4-3-3 or 4-4-2 with the players at his disposal.

How do you Notts County doing this season and have you looked into any of our signings ahead of our game on Friday?

Linsbord; No comment.

YouFUMS; I think you will be one of a dozen clubs that has a chance of finishing in the top 6. You have picked up a quality finisher in Danny Haynes, and I also saw that you had signed Dumbaya from Crawley. It seems you have a lot of pace available to play with the likes of Zoko also being no slouch. I honestly see you finishing somewhere between 4th and 8th.

Can you tell us who you see finishing in the top 6?

Linsbord; Top 6 Sheffield United, Wolves, Peterborough, Bristol City, Preston, and either Rotherham, Milton Keynes Dons, or Notts County.

YouFUMS; Wolves are the obvious choice for champions. They still have a championship squad, and are still getting parachute payments. I'm a big admirer of Shaun O'Driscoll and his methods, and so expect Bristol City to be up there also. Brentford, Peterbrough, Notts County, and ourselves for play-offs. As a long shot, look out for Rotherham making a charge on league 1.

Please tell us about Sheffield and the facilities around Bramall Lane?

Linsbord; As for the facilities etc, for those who haven't been before, come out of the station and turn left

Safe pubs with excellent beer and food are: Rutland Hotel on Paternoster Row - very close to the Station, the Devonshire Cat on Wellington Street - a bit of a walk but worth it and the ground's not too far away. Bournemouth come into this game with a very impressive winning streak of 5 games, prior to this completely the opposite with a 5 game losing streak. Notts County roll on the back of two disappointing defeats at the hands of Brentford and Yeovil, surprisingly the same score lines. Pride of Nottingham has taken the time to speak with young Bournemouth fan Max ahead of our game against them on Saturday. We hope all traveling fans enjoy the day out and fully get behind the team, lets give Chris his chance and lets support him 100%!

Firstly, could you tell prideofnottingham.co.uk a little about yourself, such as how long you've been a fan for?

I'm a 16 year old student currently doing my first year of A-Levels and have been a Bournemouth fan since I was about 5, my first game being during the 01/02 season. I've seen a promotion, a relegation and numerous average Bournemouth sides so far, but I lived in Toronto, Canada from 2008-2012 so this has been my first season as season ticket holder since the 2007/08 season.

At the start of the season things didn't quite go to plan for Bournemouth, prior to your 2-0 win over Orient what were you thinking?

It was very worrying to be honest. The previous season had been odd, it had started awfully but had picked up and we received new Russian financial investment, but Paul Groves had been placed in interim charge in February after Lee Bradbury was sacked. Groves proved during his spell as caretaker manager that he wasn't up to the job (I think we won once or twice) but our very controversial chairman decided to hire him anyway. We had high aspirations with such an expensive and talented squad, but the opening 11 games were disastrous and the team looked on course for a relegation battle. Personally, I thought we had a group of talented but overpaid individuals who could not work as a team.

Your form greatly improved after the win, having a run of 15 games unbeaten. What would say the turning point was?

For me the turning point was the first home game after Eddie Howe was announced as our new manager, a 2-0 win over Leyton Orient. It was the first of these 15 games but a determination was finally present in the players and they showed their potential. With a club hero back for a second spell in charge, it truly felt like there were good times ahead, although obviously a lot of work still had to be done.

Please tell us about a couple of your favourite away days so far this season?

My favourite away day was our 3-0 win at MK Dons in early February. We were on a good run and had also just signed Matt Ritchie from Swindon, so I think all Bournemouth fans were in a pretty good mood already. I think most people like to win their because it symbolizes everything that is wrong with football is present at that place, but our match was not just another win. We took the lead early on, but on the verge of half-time MK forward Ryan Lowe tried to headbutt our captain Tommy Elphick; a couple of minutes later Lowe jumped in with a two footed tackle (assault would describe it more accurately) and was sent off with Elphick being stretchered off too. The fans were livid but we grabbed a second just right after, and a superb shot from Harry Arter capped off a fine victory in a very important match.

Recently our 1-0 win at Colchester on Good Friday was another important victory in front of a good travelling support nearly matched my day at MK. We also came into this match on the back of a decent run of form and we knew that 3 points would be significant as we aim for promotion to the Championship. While Colchester's ground is another soulless place, it was a comfortable win for us and many Colchester fans calling us "disgraceful" and "cheats" after the game made winning even sweeter.

How is Matt Richie settling at the club and how important of a signing as he been so far?

On the face of it, it would be easy for opposition fans to view Ritchie as being overrated due to his lack of goals and assists so far. However, a defensive injury crisis forced him to play left-back for his first couple of months here, and he filled in superbly for a small right-winger. Since moving back to his natural position, he has already scored once and set up a couple of goals, showing how much there is still yet to come from him. It also helps that we took a player of his ability away from our promotion rivals, Swindon Town.

Brett Pitman like Eddie Howe, seems to bring the best out of Bournemouth. 15 goals so far, another impressive return. Why do you think this is?

Brett is a very unique player, and despite his goalscoring record, the kind of player many still somehow manage to criticize. He has an odd style that sometimes makes him seem rather lazy and unfit, but he's the kind of player that can be anonymous for an hour then pop up with a wonder goal. He has his form once more here and Eddie Howe knows how to bring the best out of him, proven by his goal scoring record with us in League Two. Lewis Grabban plays up front alongside him, running the channels allowing Brett to stay in dangerous areas constantly, and his finishing ability allows him to score a lot of goals.

Back when were both in League Two, how different would you say things are now for both clubs?

It's almost impossible to compare both clubs to when they were in League Two. When we were in that division, we had literally no money, often having to play our assistant manager on the bench and we weren't allowed to sign any players. Our success was totally down to a squad with brilliant team spirit, many of whom went on to play at a higher level. Now we have one of the most expensive teams in the league, higher crowds, and a new training ground- it's almost a different club.

I can't say I'm an expert on Notts County, but I do remember the Munto Finance group and Notts receiving significant financial backing during that campaign and ultimately winning the league. Personally, I think Notts have built off of that promotion well and certainly established themselves as a solid team at this level. While I'm sure many of yours fans would like to be further up the table, I wouldn't be surprised to see The Magpies challenging for promotion in the near future should they find the correct manager.

Currently sitting in 2nd place, do you feel Bournemouth can grind out the result required to finish in an automatic place?

Automatic promotion is more than attainable, but the League Table is slightly deceiving right now as a few teams have games in hand on us. We only face one team challenging for promotion in our remaining games, which so far has worked in our favour. The team has proved it can grind out those difficult 1-0 wins, when some teams would concede devastating last minute goals. There is a certain professional ethic present in the squad when they take to the pitch, and while I do think this team can finish in the top two, it will require us to win most if not all of these games and other teams to drop points.

Eddie Howe return to Bournemouth, he seems to get the most out of your squad. What are your views on Eddie as a manager?

I do not have anything negative to say about Eddie as a manager. Each season he has been in charge here he has achieved something spectacular; in 200809 he saved us from relegation, in 2009-10 we won promotion, when he left in 2011 we were in the top 6 of league one and this year he has taken us from 21st to 2nd place. He comes across as an intelligent man in his interviews and clearly loves the club, I'm not sure Bournemouth fans would swap him for any other manager. His only fault is that his two loan signings (Marcos Painter and Dan Seabourne) have been terrible!

Which Notts County do you consider to be a threat and which single player would you like to see marked successfully?

I didn't go to the reverse fixture and have to base my judgements off of highlights and reputation, but Alan Judge often seems to be involved or scoring goals, and he was also nominated for League One player of the year. He seems to be a tricky, dangerous player who could definitely pose us a threat come Saturday. Another player who has captured my attention is Jamal Campbell-Ryce who caused us numerous problems at Meadow Lane and has been a good player for years now, but Judge is the man I hope we can keep quiet.

Who are your danger-men and who would you say poises Notts County the most risk?

We aren't necessarily a team built around one or two 'star players' as practically all eleven of our starting eleven on Saturday play an important role. Brett Pitman is obviously scoring a lot of goals right now, so I'd say he's the man for Notts to keep an eye on. However Matt Ritchie is very dangerous when on the ball, and he scores most of his goals from outside the box, but his determination to whip in a cross whenever he receives the ball is what can cause a defence a lot of problems.

Can you tell Pride of Nottingham about the facilities around the ground and Bournemouth in general?

The location of our ground is rather unique for a football ground in this country. It's not great for pubs or restaurants around the ground, but those can be found within a 5-10 minute walk in nearby Boscombe. Boscombe isn't in the immediate area but it has pubs and restaurants making it often the choice of away supporters. The plus side of our location is that it's conveniently located just off the road entering the town, but it's by a large park and houses making it more appealing than other new builds in the middle of an industrial estate. Bournemouth does have a reputation as a place 'where people go to die' but it's a nice place to live, I'd say go to the beach but unless you fancy strong winds and freezing water I wouldn't go there!

Pride of Nottingham would like to Thank Max for sharing his views and comments, he kindly took time out from his holiday to answer them. #Passion!

Pride of Nottingham returns with the 'Opposition View' prior to the game against Swindon Town, We've taken the time to ask a series of questions to medievalmikey. Notts have found a good string of form in away games, Saturday may prove to be a challenge. Swindon Town come into the game having previously beaten Yeovil 2-0 and narrowly losing to Brentford before that. As the season dwindles all games begin to be play there part, hopefully we can get something out of the game! Who knows if Judgey will score the winner again?

Firstly, could you tell prideofnottingham.co.uk a little about yourself, such as how long you've been a fan for?

I am 67 years old, mainly retired and have followed Swindon Town for many years. I recall my grandad taking me to watch 3rd Division South matches when I was 7 or 8 but watched local Southern League football in 60s and early 70s. I began watching Swindon seriously around early 80s and have held a season ticket for around 30 years.

Can you tell us your opinion on the Di Canio saga and how did you feel about his departing from Swindon Town?

Paolo DiCanio was very strong on the family ethos and had the vision that the club was an extended, loyal family. Both his parents died last season on the eve of our Plymouth matches and this seemed to tighten that bond. Despite this he has a fiercely individual persona and I felt that his standards were so exacting that our club would be too small a stage: his early departure seemed inevitable. Such a pity it was so abrupt and unpleasant. Under Paolo there always seemed to be a problem. Kevin MacDonald is much more pragmatic.

The clubs debt sent a shock-wave around League One, I myself was surprised to hear such news. How is this going and are you any closer to a potential takeover?

The debt appears to be internal and came to light because Andrew Black, the majority shareholder, seemed to have had enough of running the club in the style of the manager. He decided to sell up in a hurry and sell Matt Ritchie which led to all the well publicised events. We do have new owners but are still subject to a Football League embargo. Things are generally uncomfortable just now.

Do you think Swindon Town can climb back into one of the top two positions?

We are currently 3rd after another excellent away result so a top two finish is still on but it is very tight. We cannot be relegated!

Please share a little about your clubs progress in the past 3 years, do you have a special memory from this period?

The last three years have been like a roller coaster ride: wooden spoon, championship and losing appearances at Wembley. I guess the special memory would have to be the appointment of Paolo DiCanio and his team because this led to the on field excitement over the last 2 seasons.

How long have you been following Swindon Town and do you travel to away games?

I have watched Swindon Town off and on for close to 60 years but have done so regularly for around 30. I do not tend to travel to away games: home matches involve a 65 mile round trip.

Matt Richie, an ex Notts County loanee departed for league one rivals Bournemouth. How much of a loss was this?

I do not think that Matt Ritchie's loss was of major significance so far as the playng side was concerned and Kevin MacDonald can't miss what he never had. The political effect of Matt's move was cataclysmic.

How important has James Collins been for you and at the age of 22, he must be gaining some attention from other clubs, how do you see Swindon Town handling any possible offers?

James Collins is something of an enigma in that he seems to promise more than he has achieved yet has scored a lot of goals including 4 as a second half substitute. He appeared to be afraid of making a mistake because Paolo would have no hesitation in subbing him in the first 20 minutes. Many of our players seem to have suffered from that phobia. I think we must accept the fact that we will become a selling club especially since Kevin MacDonald's appointment. he is already giving youth players a taste of first team involvement.

Which Notts County players would you consider to be a threat and which of your defenders is most likely going to be made aware of them?

I must admit to knowing little of Notts County's strengths. Our defence is well marshalled by Darren Ward and Wes Foderingham is our best goalkeeper for years. Our strength is teamwork: we have no star player.

Can you tell us which Swindon Town players are most likely to be lively?

Nathan Thompson has been a revelation this season and has seamlessly replaced Paul Caddis. Darren Ward is a great leader and Alan McCormack is hurting oppsition with his strong runs now he is back in midfield. Simon Ferry is our best ball player. Andy Williams has pace and control but finishing is not great. James Collins and Adam Rooney are beginning to score more regularly.

Please tell us about the facilities around County Ground and anything which our travelling fans may find useful?

There are a few fast food oulets close to County Ground and various pubs although I don't know which are away fan friendly. Our friends from Walsall meet up for a drink in the cricket club which adjoins the County Ground. There are Pay and Display car parks within easy walking distance.

Lastly could you tell Pride of Nottingham about your all time footballing hero?

My all time footballing hero is Brian Clough an immense footballing talent whose career was cut short by injury. He then became a very successful and charismatic manager. I was fortunate to see him play against Sweden at Wembley in 1959. I turned up and paid at the turnstile!

We would like to Thank medievalmikey for taking the time to answer our questions, also for taking the time register and join us. Any members reading this who haven't already please consider saying hello to his introduction.

Preston who sit 17th in League One, find themselves facing Notts County at Meadow Lane. The tie originally scheduled to fall in December, which was postponed, is a game against two sides who's fans will be saying 'What if?'. Notts County 10th, still have an outside bet of reaching the playoffs but it will be games like this which ultimately seal our fate. We've taken the time to speak with two Preston fans and we sincerely hope you enjoy this feature. We appreciate your time reading, sharing and inspiring us.

Firstly, could you tell prideofnottingham.co.uk a little about yourself, such as how long you've been a fan for?

James: I'm James Shuttleworth, a 20 year-old Literature student at Bangor University. Born in Preston, live in the town of Leyland when not at University. I've been a North Ender since the age of 7 due to my Dad being a fan of many years before me.

Ben: I am a 17 year old college student who is a season ticket holder, and has been since the age of 6, however my first game was at the age of 3, a 3-0 win over Ford United in the F.A Cup in 1998.

Simon Grayson were on the lips of many Notts County fans to replace Keith Curle, How happy are you with the appointment and who did the majority of Preston fans want?

James: I'm very pleased with the appointment of Simon Grayson. With the track record of 3 promotions with 3 clubs from this division, who wouldn't be happy? A few of the more deluded fans wanted Nigel Adkins, others touting Owen Coyle. Simon was the favourite pretty much from the off, though.

Ben: Most fans are delighted with Simon as the new manager, he has a proven track record in this league, and most have seen through his past allegiances with 'that lot down the road' and welcomed him as manager. Most fans wanted Grayson as soon as the odds came out, some wanted Owen Coyle but would be way out of our price range, whilst some wanted the local lad, Gareth Ainsworth in.

Who at the start of the season did you see getting promoted?

James: For me, it was hard to look past the force that is always Sheffield United. I'm not a huge lover of them (to say the least), but they're always good. I'd also thought Doncaster and Bournemouth would be up there, so they'd probably have been my 3.

Ben: For me, it would have to be Sheffield United and Doncaster automatically, and Bournemouth through the play-offs. Both the Yorkshire clubs had the players to succeed in this divison with lots of experience throughout both line-ups, whilst Bournemouth spent a lot in the summer to create their squad.

Start of the season Preston were looking like strong contenders for promotion, where did the season go wrong?

James: Westley's constant switching up of the team certainly did us no favours. A couple of injuries here and there and a drop in home form (resulting in a lack of confidence) added to the pressure.

Ben: Graham Westley. That's where it went wrong. The season did start well, Carling Cup wins over Huddersfield and Crystal Palace, big wins in the league over Swindon, Doncaster and Hartlepool, however, and somewhat coincidentally, the slide started after the reverse of this upcoming fixture, at Deepdale. Both of our full-backs, Keith Keane, and more notoriously, Scott Laird, were ruled out for some time and we never looked the same after that. We went on a run of 8 league games after that before we could find a win, then another 5 games without a win in the league, and the collapse at Coventry in the Johnstones Paint Trophy was especially hard to take. It's an understatement to say that some of the players didn't get on with Westley and did not agree with his methods. In the end, he had to go, he had lost the dressing room. It's no surprise to see once he had gone, we haven't lost since.

What's your hopes for the rest of the remaining season?

James: My hopes for the rest of our season are to consolidate, pick up a few home wins and finish in the top 14. It would be good if Simon could continue what he's done in the first few games - keep a steady starting XI and let them work out any issues with their play. From experience, I like to think that consistency breeds success in a football club.

Ben: Get a good run of results, steer away from the relegation zone and play attractive, winning football. On the basis of what I have seen so far of the post-Westley era, i'm convinced Grayson is the right man for the job. However, we will need to see in the summer what moves he makes in regards to transfers.

Please share a memory from your earliar days of supporting Preston North End?

James: The earliest memory I have is of a home game against Grimsby. 'Super' Jonny Macken scored after 17 seconds. We proceeded to lose 2-1. That season was brilliant - we were newly promoted, beat Birmingham in the play-off semi-final and went to the Millennium Stadium. We got thumped 3-0 by Bolton Wanderers, but we won't dwell on that too much.

Ben: The 2000/2001 Championship play-off semi-final 2nd leg, which was at Deepdale, we hosted Birmingham City, trailing 1-0 from the first leg at St.Andrews, if I remember correctly, Nicky Eaden got the goal. We had a great start in the second leg, leveling the tie through David Healy, but Geoff Horsfield restored the Blues lead in the second half. The normally level-headed Graham Alexander crashed a penalty against the bar after this, which shocked the majority of the crowd, he was a penalty expert. We thought it was all over when Lazardis rounded David Lucas in the 89th minute, but somehow, his shot from a tight angle trickled all the way across the goal without going in, and the counter attack started, and was put in at the other end by Mark Rankine, who wasn't known for his attacking prowess. We survived several scares in extra time, and subsequently won the penalty shootout, despite Trevor Francis' protests at the penalty kicks not being taken at the empty end which was once the Town End, instead they were taken infront of the vocal North Ens fans in the Bill Shankly Kop. We did go on to lose the final in Cardiff to Bolton Wanderers, but it wasn't bad for a team who'd just come off a promotion from League One.

How is Scott Laird's recovery going?

James: Scott has tweeted recently about his recovery. He got back to running lightly a couple of weeks ago, so he's steadily coming back. The club has hopes to get him fit to take a decent part in pre-season and be ready for the start of next season.

Ben: He's started running again in training, although won't be fully fit until pre-season. It was a shame to lose him as he was by far our best and most consistent player before the injury, and i'm still a bit bitter to this day as I feel it changed our season for the worse. We just hope he returns the same player he was before the injury.

How much of a loss his Scott's absence to your starting line up?

James: Losing Scotty was a huge blow. He was, at the time, easily our most influential player. Solid in defence, quick up and down the wing and a great attacking threat. Also, he was top of our assists charts at the time! We have David Buchanan who has deputised well, but he's not the same player.

Ben: For the first few months he was a major loss. We missed his attacking presence down the left. We thought we had a very able replacement in David Buchanan, who was Tranmere's player of the season last year, but things weren't going right for him, and towards the end of Westley's tenure, Buchanan was replaced by youth team player Ben Davies. Since Westley has gone, Buchanan admitted that he and the ex-gaffer didn't see eye to eye, and his performances have sky-rocketed since.

Which Notts County players do you consider to poise a threat to your defence and why?

James: I see Francois Zoko as a threat, simply because he reputedly 'nearly' signed for us during the summer but opted for Notts instead. Also, I'd consider Alan Judge to be a tricky customer. Our defence has shored up reasonably well recently though, and the lads will arrive with a clean sheet under their belts. It should be a tight affair.

Ben: We know all about Francois Zoko, he destroyed us at Deepdale in his Carlisle days on Boxing Day 2011, we also know Alan Judge is a very creative threat from midfield, he can do anything.

Can you tell us which Preston players we should be aware of and who is your key player?

James: The wingers. Lee Holmes and Will Hayhurst. Lee is a classy player for this level - if it weren't for injury then he'd be a Championship player. Sweet left foot on him. Young Will has scored 3 goals in 3 games from the left flank, so he's a massive threat too. The likes of Stuart Beavon and Nicky Wroe also can't be overlooked - Beavs has picked up a few goals and Nicky chipped in with a hat-trick at Scunthorpe earlier in the season.

Ben: Stuart Beavon is an absolute workhorse upfront and runs himself into the ground for the team, whilst also scoring goals, 10 this season he's tallied so far, but he would have liked to have more. It's hard to look past our wing wizards at this stage, with Lee Holmes putting in some dazzling performances, but Will Hayhurst has been taking the plaudits as of late. The 19 year old who suffered two leg breaks in his youth team days, has grown in stature since some tame performances in the first few months of the season, and has netted 3 goals in his last 3 games, and if he carries on, clubs from the higher echelons will start to notice his talents. Even better that he's a local lad, supported PNE as a boy and will give it all for the club.

Do you have a favourite away day and who were you not looking forward to visiting this season?

James: Due to being away from home, I haven't made it to many games this season - but surprisingly, made it to a few away games! I enjoyed the trip to Hartlepool on New Years Day. Without meaning to offend Pools, it was a quaint trip to an older style ground. I also made it to the Ricoh Arena twice in a couple of weeks - including the JTP Northern semi-final on my birthday, where Steve Simonsen forgetting how to use his hands cost us dearly. So I'd have to say, Coventry holds the worst away day feeling for me at the moment!

Ben: I'd have to say Bury was my favourite away day. We outnumbered the home support, taking close to 3,000 fans to Gigg Lane, and won 2-1 thanks to goals from Shane Cansdell-Sherriff and Akpo Sodje, who have both departed the club, SCS only on loan. I wasn't looking forward to visiting Colchester as we never seem to get a result in the deep heart of Essex, and we didn't, losing 1-0. I would like Blackpool to be relegated this season though, it'd be nice to have a closer game seeing as Bury is our local derby being 45 minutes away!

Please tell us about your current favourite player and your all-time hero?

James: My current favourite player has to be Scott Laird. Driving force, passionate about the game and very talented. Otherwise, I've a soft spot for our (currently) sub keeper Thorsten Stuckmann. Pulls off some blinders, full of passion and a generally nice lad.

All-time hero - Graham Alexander. A real-life Roy of the Rovers.

Ben: My current favourite player is Stuart Beavon, who like I said works his socks off for the benefit of the team. My all-time hero would be Sean Gregan. He lifted our last trophy when we won League One in 2000, and gave many good performances before being sold to West Bromwich Albion in 2002. We called him 'God' for a reason!

Pride of Nottingham would like to Thank James (check out his band) and Ben (PrestonPlumber) for taking the time to answer our question. We would like to throw a special mention to our own WeymouthPie who helped locating James when we thought this feature would be lost.

Carlisle suffered defeat at the hands of Walsall on 26/02/2013, Carlisle have found themselves in poor form in recent games. Notts County come off the back of a draw against Tranmere, which was a game that sounded like we had controlled fairly well. We've taken the time to speak with Dave ahead of our game against Carlisle, the first opposition view in recent times due to being unable to locate an interested party. We hope to continue to feature opposition views when possible.

Firstly, could you tell prideofnottingham.co.uk a little about yourself, such as how long you've been a fan for?

I've been a Carlisle United fan on-and-off since I was a child, although annoyingly I only started going to the games with family the year after our only top flight season. I was an early connector to the Internet, though, and I ran one of the first Carlisle United fansites - Reeves Is Offside Again!

How do you feel about Carlisle United coming into the game on Saturday and what do you think the result will be?

CUFC have been so inconsistent this season that we don't know what to expect from any game, although we do seem to win a few, then have a humiliating defeat, then get a few good results again.

You previously lost to Walsall in what sounded like a very good game, was this a game you were looking forward to?

Not particularly, unfortunately, as my gut feeling was that this was going to be our humiliating defeat, and so it turned out to be.

Could you tell us about Greg Abbott and what your thoughts are of him as a manager?

I think the politest thing I can say is that he is good at keeping his job, but that I've never been convinced about his abilities as a manager.

Please share a high and low point from your memory of supporting Carlisle United?

High points have to be the Wembley finals, and the low points were the seasons at the end of the Knighton era.

What formation do you see Carlisle playing against us and do you generally stick to one formation?

Probably an ineffectual one.......

Will you be travelling yourself to Meadow Lane and how many times have you visited, could you tell us about it?

I won't be there this Saturday, but I have been previously and had a good meal and pint in your supporters area under the stand, chatting with some of your fans.

Who do you consider to be Notts County's danger-man and which of our players would prefer to see marked?

I'll be honest and say that I pay no attention to Association Football other than Carlisle United, so I don't know many players of other clubs. I only watch soccer on TV to be sociable with friends and family.

How many fans do you think Carlisle will bring to Meadow Lane on Saturday?

We always have a strong away following, so I would expect to see at least 400 there.

Are you looking forward to any remaining games and can you tell us why?

I'm looking forward to the last game of the season so that this "nothing of a season" is over. Hopefully we'll avoid relegation, but with Ah'but in charge.......

Where do you think your club will finished at the end of the season along with Notts County?

I think Carlisle will just avoid relegation, but hopefully Ah'but will be gone very quickly and we can look forward to a better season next year. Preferably with better and more ambitious owners, too.....

Pride of Nottingham would like to thank Dave for taking time to answer the question and SadLad for helping find a opposition fan.

Firstly, could you tell prideofnottingham.co.uk a little about yourself, such as how long you've been a fan for?

Been a fan since the early 70's. Moved around the country alot in 80's, 90's an 00's so didn't get to see that many home matches but always saw them if they were playing nearby. Moved back to midlands three years ago and get to most home matches and local derbies.

I keep reading comments from Saddlers fans regarding your good form, can you tell about the past 3 games and how important this form is at this period in the season?

Went 16 games without a win and relegation was looming. A dire FA cup replay match against Lincoln was when we hit rock bottom. However, Smith stuck to his guns of wanting to play proper football rather than hoofing it and it has all come good. Confidence in the team his high.

David Grof, Febian Brandy and Craig Westcarr are all players from Notts County's 2011 squad, do you expect any to feature in our game and who do you prefer personally?

David Grof won't be playing. Smith has no confidence in him, hence a merry-go-round of loan goalies this season. McLoughlin's loan period is up after we play you so we shall probably see a new face betwen the sticks a week on Saturday (unless MK Dons let McLoughlin stay). Febian Brandy has been a revelation. Got injured in a pre season friendly so was slow to make an impression. Now he can't stop scoring. We need to sign him up for an 18 month contract now. Westcarr is an enigma. When he plays, the team plays well. He can hold the ball up and spread it well. Some fans don't rate him, some are undecided, some think he is great! Will probobaly come on for Baxendale in the second half.

We're still playing under caretaker manager Chris Kiwomya, as an opposition fan who do you think is likely to land the full time job and what's your opinion on Chris?

I don't know who you will get. You could do worse than rescue Richard Money (Dickie Dosh) from Cambridge. Did well at Walsall but never seems to get on with fans wherever he goes! Chris Kiwomya played for Ipswich? Good player but early days to be judged as a manager

As an ex player of Walsall FC, Dean Smith is doing a pretty decent job with the Saddlers what are your thoughts on him as a manager?

Has a strong belief on how he wants the game to be played and won't be panicked into changing his systems. The team he has put together has cost nothing compared with other teams in the league. I think that speaks volumes about his ability to get the best out of what he has got. Now his name is linked with Coventry and Preston! Earlier in the season,he was criticised for some bizarre substitution decisionsthat have cost us points. He has seemed to have improved lately.

Can you tell us about your favourite game from this season and a maybe about a classic match also?

For me, the last home match against Oldham who beat Liverpool the previous week. The second half we were fantastic. The attendance went up too so there was a bit of atmosphere. I reckon there should be 5k plus there on Saturday.

Classic Match. Watford 4 Walsall 4 FA cup 5th round replay 1987

Is there any current Notts County players, budget permitting that you would like to sign? (some of our fans will be thinking it's a shame we still don't have Tom Williams right now, some would have paid to send him to Walsall – probably would have even paid his wages).

We don't need anyone from anywhere at the moment! Hang on... Whats your goalie like?

Who are your dangerman? Keeping in mind we're familiar with Febian and Craig.

Grigg (works hard and will create chances for himself). Paterson ( will make constant wrong decsions but still score) Bowerman from the bench. Adam Chambers will run the midfield.

Which of our players do you see as concerns to your defence and who do you think will handle them?

Butler will stick his head were people fear to put their feet. Downing is improving but can be a bit naive. Taylor and Purkiss are good attacking fullbacks with good crosses. Anyone with a turn of speed on the left could cause us problems.

Can you tell Pride of Nottingham about Walsall, such as your ground and nearby pubs/bars?

Well behaved away fans are welcome in the Saddlers Club. There is also a bar in the visitors end. Avoid the Fullbrook pub about a mile away. The ground is easy to get to and plenty of parking. We have our own railway station to. The snack bar will probably run out of food. We don't do chips!

Out of interest did you see the Celtic/Juventus game and are you aware that some of their fans have shown great support to Notts County FC? (Known as Italian Magpies).

Didn't Notts County provide Juventus with their shirts when they were founded? I think the similarity ends with the kit!!

Where did you think Walsall and Notts County will finish up in the league table by the end of the season?

Walsall could nick a play off place if teams around us lose their games in hand. Mid-table for you this season

We would like to Thank DonningtonSaddler for the time of answering questions and sharing his views.
