<p><img src="https://prideofnottingham.co.uk/uploads/monthly_2017_09/JG-min.jpg.00cbdca55c11791ed3549fb35124f117.jpg" /></p>
<p>
	Jorge Grant is delighted with the way Notts County are playing at the minute, saying they're doing the basics right and taking their chances up front.
</p>

<p>
	The Magpies cemented their hold on second place in League Two after claiming a fourth consecutive win - and fourth consecutive clean sheet - at Crawley Town on Saturday.
</p>

<p>
	Grant scored the only goal of the game in the <a href="https://prideofnottingham.co.uk/home/reports/match-report-notts-county-winning-run-continues-with-victory-at-crawley-town-r1829/" rel="">1-0 win</a> at the Broadfield Stadium and, as well as praising the team as a whole, he also feels that he is growing up as a player thanks to Kevin Nolan's input.
</p>

<p>
	"I'm absolutely buzzing with the away win," he told the official Notts website. "It's perfect to keep a clean sheet and win the game 1-0.
</p>

<p>
	"We're doing the basics right and then expressing ourselves in the final third so we're all really happy at the minute.
</p>

<p>
	"I'm starting to grow up a little bit more and my choices on the pitch are showing that as well. I speak to the gaffer regularly and he helps me out a lot.
</p>

<p>
	"You never expect it to go as well as it has but we have to keep our feet on the ground, keep doing what we have been doing and the wins will keep coming.
</p>

<p>
	"We've had three games in a week and the gaffer has been able to make changes today and on Tuesday against Swindon. The depth of the squad is really good."

<p>
	Kevin Nolan has praised Notts County's mentality in claiming a fourth win on the bounce against Crawley Town on Saturday.
</p>

<p>
	Jorge Grant bagged the winner from Jonathan Forte's cross-shot at the Broadfield Stadium to leave the Magpies in rude health at the top of League Two.
</p>

<p>
	The Notts gaffer told the official site following the <a href="https://prideofnottingham.co.uk/home/reports/match-report-notts-county-winning-run-continues-with-victory-at-crawley-town-r1829/" rel="">1-0 win</a>: “I’m absolutely delighted. The lads have got a mentality about them now.
</p>

<p>
	“They’ve come here and made sure they played the way they wanted to play and countered Crawley’s strengths. I thought we deserved the win.
</p>

<p>
	“When we’re not on top form in possession, we make sure we scrap and battle. Sometimes you’ve got to put your body on the line.”
</p>

<p>
	“There’s more to come from these lads. Their confidence will grow and they’re learning every day.
</p>

<p>
	“I feel we’re going to continue to get better if we can keep working the way we have.
</p>

<p>
	“The attitude and application was absolutely fantastic today and that’s why we’ve won the game.”

<p><img src="https://prideofnottingham.co.uk/uploads/monthly_2017_09/duffy-min.jpg.5a381c46641a001f3fd1be86f93ca76f.jpg" /></p>
<p>
	Richard Duffy is happy for Notts County to be known and established as a side with a solid, watertight defence as he aims to lead the team to an eighth unbeaten game in all competitions today.
</p>

<p>
	The Magpies have kept four clean sheets in seven games, virtually overturning the calamity that was Coventry City away, to set up a League Two clash at Crawley Town this afternoon from the dizzying heights of second in the table.
</p>

<p>
	Duffy, this season's skipper for Notts, also praises his defensive partnership with centre-back teammate Shaun Brisley, and is happy enough with his tenure as captain so far.
</p>

<p>
	In an interview with the Nottingham Post, Duffy said: “I’ve really enjoyed [working with Brisley], obviously the results make it a lot better. I think we work well on the pitch, we talk to each other and off the pitch we talk quite a bit in training.
</p>

<p>
	“We’re learning each other’s games, what’s the strengths and what we’re not so good at and we can cover each other on those things. I’m really enjoying playing (with him).”
</p>

<p>
	“The first game of the season was disappointing but we’ve bounced back really well since then.
</p>

<p>
	"It wasn’t great; we were way off the mark on the first day which was disappointing. The previous six games we’ve put that to bed and shown what we can really do.
</p>

<p>
	“I think we’re solid, we’re compact and defending well as a team and we’re attacking as a team. Everything we do, there’s no individuals out there. The work we’re doing on the training ground is really paying off.
</p>

<p>
	“I feel as though I’ve done alright [as captain]. Four clean sheets in seven games says it all really for the whole team, especially the back-four and the goalkeeper. That’s what we try to pride ourselves on, clean sheets and keeping the ball out of our net.
</p>

<p>
	“We’ve got to keep working hard and not get too far ahead of ourselves. After the first day, if you’d have said we’ve have won five and drawn one, most people would have snapped your hand off. It’s been really good.
</p>

<p>
	“The club has a bit of stability at the minute, and we’ve got to get that on the pitch and get as many points as early as we can and see where we go from there. We’re definitely solid, I’ll take solid all day long as we win games.”

<p><img src="https://prideofnottingham.co.uk/uploads/monthly_2017_09/HK-min.JPG.e56b72bc05b5212a9038bfd4fc00f8d0.JPG" /></p>
<p>
	Crawley Town boss Harry Kewell is expecting an aggressive and entertaining game between his side and Notts County tomorrow.
</p>

<p>
	The Magpies travel to the Broadfield Stadium at the weekend with the chance of making it eight games unbeaten in all competitions.
</p>

<p>
	Kewell knows Nolan well, having faced him in the Premier League in the 2000s, and is relishing the chance to take him on from the dugout this time.
</p>

<p>
	"It's sure to be an aggressive game, but an entertaining one as well," the Australian told the official Crawley website.
</p>

<p>
	"I'm sure as fellow former players who've played against each other, we'll both know what we're going to bring with our respective sides.
</p>

<p>
	"It'll be tough, they're on a good run, but we've already shown this season we can rise to challenges and tough opposition.
</p>

<p>
	"This weekend is no different, we approach every game in the same way."
</p>

<p>
	Nolan, meanwhile, spoke fondly of Kewell and says he will be looking forward to renewing acquaintances with him on Saturday.
</p>

<p>
	“They (Crawley) made an appointment in the summer which I think probably shocked everybody, in the respect that I didn’t think Harry Kewell would want to go down that route,” Nolan told the Nottingham Post.
</p>

<p>
	“But it’s fantastic. It’s nice that people are trying to break the mould and realising that to try to get better, you’ve got to come to League Two to try to prove yourself. Hats off to him.
</p>

<p>
	“He was one of the big names in the Premier League. I think the last time I saw him, he was winning a Champions League medal in Istanbul. I was actually with the fans and he was obviously on the pitch with the trophy!
</p>

<p>
	“It will be nice to catch up with him and Warren (Feeney, assistant head coach), who was manager of Newport when I was at Accrington. It will be nice to say hello and have a beer with them afterwards.”

<p><img src="https://prideofnottingham.co.uk/uploads/monthly_2017_09/59bbc647e682a_kevinrich-min.jpg.6429936a50ae3b6bfb48855ab6715e1e.jpg" /></p>
<p>
	Kevin Nolan has urged again for perspective at Notts County, reiterating the need to take each game as it comes and secure safety before reassessing the objectives for the season.
</p>

<p>
	The Magpies could make it eight games unbeaten in all competitions if they get a result away at Crawley Town on Saturday, with the Magpies sitting second in League Two.
</p>

<p>
	Despite talk among fans shifting towards promotion, Nolan insists that it's too early in the season to look ahead all the way to next May when the league reaches its decisive fixtures.
</p>

<p>
	He told the Nottingham Post: “When I did my initial interview with Alan, it was saying we need to sustain our league status, then it was about making sure we sustained it again this year but with more ease and not a topsy turvy season. Then it was a three to five-year plan to get us out this league and sustain ourselves in League One to then start looking for Championship football.
</p>

<p>
	“We haven’t really now set our goals. I think it’s been a bit different from where we were at the end of January – although probably after the first game of the season (a 3-0 defeat at Coventry City) we were back to where we were in January!
</p>

<p>
	“Now, there’s a lot of positivity. There’s a lot of people shouting, ‘yes, we can do this and we can do that’. But I think it’s really key that we remain grounded and at a medium, happy level.
</p>

<p>
	“We’ve got to make sure from the start we’ve had that we finish in the top half of the table, because that would be success for this club after a number of years being in the doldrums of this league – where you’re fearful of relegation.
</p>

<p>
	“We’ve got to get to safety as quickly as possible. If we do that, then we can reassess what we’re going to do this season.
</p>

<p>
	“We can’t start getting carried away, saying ‘we’re going to win it, we’re going to get promoted’. We’ve got to have realistic aims and realistic ambitions.
</p>

<p>
	“It’s a club in transition and sometimes if you go a bit too quick, and go too soon, that can bite you in the bum. We’ve got to make sure we get it right.
</p>

<p>
	“We’re in a very good place at this moment in time, and everyone who’s connected with Notts County Football Club should be thankful for that.”

<p>
	Kevin Nolan has played down Shola Ameobi's hamstring injury, suggesting that he will not be out of action for too long.
</p>

<p>
	The veteran striker was forced off in Notts County's win over Morecambe last weekend and was unavailable for the midweek win over Swindon Town.
</p>

<p>
	Ameobi is not expected to play any part in the Magpies' trip to Crawley tomorrow, but Nolan insists his backroom team will take good care of him and should be able to establish a recovery timeline in the next few days.
</p>

<p>
	“We’re just taking it daily. It’s going to take a bit of time,” Nolan told the Nottingham Post.
</p>

<p>
	“It’s his hamstring. We thought it was maybe an overstretch, but when we looked at the video, and when the medical staff looked at the video, it seemed it was more what a sprinter would get in the way he hyper-extended his leg.
</p>

<p>
	“They are really confident that he won’t be out for too long. I’ve got a wonderful backroom staff who work tirelessly day in, day out, so I’m sure they’re giving him (Ameobi) the best treatment at the minute.
</p>

<p>
	“Knowing Shola, it won’t be too long until we see him back on the pitch.
</p>

<p>
	“Hopefully I’ll be able to give you a timeline in the next few days, certainly after the weekend. But at the minute, we’re just taking it daily because we haven’t really scanned it yet because we wanted to let it settle down.”

<p><img src="https://prideofnottingham.co.uk/uploads/monthly_2017_09/milly-min.jpg.76920c62f02290d4999a86e07bc140bc.jpg" /></p>
<p>
	Kevin Nolan has revealed that a "ruckus" took place between himself and Rob Milsom over the midfielder becoming sloppy in training.
</p>

<p>
	The current Notts County Player of the Year made his first League Two start of the season as the Magpies <a href="https://prideofnottingham.co.uk/home/reports/match-report-notts-county-up-to-second-in-league-two-with-win-over-swindon-town-r1811/" rel="">beat Swindon 1-0</a> at Meadow Lane in midweek.
</p>

<p>
	Nolan has already spoken numerous times of a "frank discussion" with striker <a href="https://prideofnottingham.co.uk/home/news/pride-of-nottingham-to-sponsor-jonathan-forte-home-kit-for-201718-season-r1689/" rel="">Jonathan Forte</a>, and now he has revealed that something similar took place with Milsom.
</p>

<p>
	“Milly was unfortunate to miss five to 10 days of pre-season with a stiff neck and we brought in a couple of midfielders in in that time,” he told the Nottingham Post.
</p>

<p>
	“It wasn’t really difficult to keep him happy. He’s just had to wait for his chance.
</p>

<p>
	“We had a bit of ruckus a few weeks ago when I felt he was becoming sloppy in his training.
</p>

<p>
	“It showed in a game when we put him on. I feel he’s now training with the intensity and quality that made him player of the year.
</p>

<p>
	“It’s only a matter of time before he gets his run. He got his first game (on Tuesday). He’s made my job a lot harder.”

<p><img src="https://prideofnottingham.co.uk/uploads/monthly_2017_09/KN-min.JPG.82ece625d044ace1de2664466c36a1b0.JPG" /></p>
<p>
	Kevin Nolan has hailed his Notts County charges as being "brilliant from start to finish" against Swindon Town but insists he will keep his feet on the ground despite their lofty league position.
</p>

<p>
	The Magpies <a href="https://prideofnottingham.co.uk/home/reports/match-report-notts-county-up-to-second-in-league-two-with-win-over-swindon-town-r1811/" rel="">beat the Robins 1-0 at Meadow Lane on Tuesday night</a>, with Jon Stead rattling home a penalty in the first half, and the win sees them up to second in League Two.
</p>

<p>
	"I thought we were brilliant from start to finish," Nolan told the official website. "Everyone who stepped in tonight was fantastic.
</p>

<p>
	"Swindon threw everything at us. They're a good side and have won their last three on the road - that's where they pick up most of their points.
</p>

<p>
	"So we knew it was going to be a difficult task tonight, but overall I thought we were deserved winners.
</p>

<p>
	"This was another fantastic win and, you know me, I love my clean sheets. I don't think any of the players could be marked below seven out of 10 today.
</p>

<p>
	"The table never lies, but I'm not going to look at it now. We've got to get to safety first.
</p>

<p>
	"We were in a similar position last season so we've got to make sure we don't get carried away. This isn't a forgiving league. If you start thinking you've made it, it can bite you on the backside.
</p>

<p>
	"It's really important we continue to work hard and believe in what we're doing. I feel we've still got plenty to come, which is hugely satisfying for me."

<p><img src="https://prideofnottingham.co.uk/uploads/monthly_2017_09/ncfc-min.JPG.c2ba65b07cc04f3bb6d96dd071fdfba3.JPG" /></p>
<p>
	Kevin Nolan has urged Notts County to keep their standards high as he seeks to keep cultivating a fear factor for opposing teams who come to Meadow Lane.
</p>

<p>
	The Magpies are unbeaten at home so far this season and have not lost in their last six games in all competitions.
</p>

<p>
	Tonight, Swindon Town - a team relegated from League One last season - come to Nottingham to take on Notts, and though Nolan says it's a tough ask, he thinks his players can match them.
</p>

<p>
	“Swindon have won their last two away games. They obviously fancy themselves away from home,” he told the Nottingham Post.
</p>

<p>
	“They’ve got good players and we respect them. Crawley and Barnet have gone to their place and hit them on the counter.
</p>

<p>
	“They can come here and play with that bit more freedom. We have to deal with that – we know teams will respect us, so we’ve got to be patient.
</p>

<p>
	“It’s going to be a tough ask again. We want to win and this team has a lot more to come. We’re working on dominating games and keeping this run going.
</p>

<p>
	“Swindon try to play but I feel our lads can match them. If we switch on we can beat anyone, but if we don’t, anyone can beat us on the day.
</p>

<p>
	“I’m trying to instil that into the lads. I feel we’ve got a good thing going here.
</p>

<p>
	“(Morecambe boss) Jim (Bentley) said he felt there was a real buzz about the place that he’s not felt here before. That gets you wins.
</p>

<p>
	“There’s a fear factor, so I’m pleased to hear that. Hopefully we keep the run going.
</p>

<p>
	“Most of the teams we’ve played so far will be up there come May. I’m very pleased with how we’ve handled it.
</p>

<p>
	“At the minute everything is going well. We can’t let the staff or players get away with anything.
</p>

<p>
	“We’ve got to keep those standards high. All the lads know their responsibilities.”

<p>
	Notts County boss Kevin Nolan has expressed his delight at having a team with strength in depth which can be arranged in a variety of different formations.
</p>

<p>
	The Magpies sit third in League Two and are unbeaten in six games in all competitions ahead of tonight's visit of Swindon Town.
</p>

<p>
	With 46 games in the league campaign plus three cup competitions, Nolan is happy to feel that he can make widescale changes and still have a competitive team out on the pitch.
</p>

<p>
	“We’ve been able to assemble such a good squad. We can now make five or six changes and it’s still a strong 11 which can get results in this division,” he told the Nottingham Post.
</p>

<p>
	“We’ve got to make sure the lads are on it and grasp their opportunity.
</p>

<p>
	“I would make five or six changes. I feel that on Tuesday I could make five or six with no doubt those who come in will be ready and raring.
</p>

<p>
	“I’m looking forward to Tuesday and there will be a few changes coming.
</p>

<p>
	“Last year we couldn’t make five changes and still feel it was a good team. I could make seven now and feel we’re still a good side in the league.
</p>

<p>
	“We can move from a 4-4-2 to 3-5-2, 4-3-3, whatever you want. We don’t want lads to have the rabbit in the headlights look.
</p>

<p>
	“We got it right at Port Vale when we went down to 10 men. It’s a nice arrogance to have. The lads had organised themselves before we even spoke to them. That’s what we want.”

<p>
	Kevin Nolan has reiterated the importance of making Meadow Lane a difficult place for opponents to come to when they play Notts County.
</p>

<p>
	The club's home dressing room has been the subject of much press coverage in recent months following Alan Hardy's investment in the facilities.
</p>

<p>
	The away dressing rooms have also gained some coverage, albeit more on the negative side, when Accrington Stanley boss John Coleman said his side had to change "in a corridor".
</p>

<p>
	Nolan spoke of how, as Leyton orient player-manager, he found it very comfortable, and did not want that to be the case on his watch as Magpies manager.
</p>

<p>
	“I take pride in the fact that this (Meadow Lane) is our home,” he told the Nottingham Post. “We don’t want anybody to come and enjoy being here.
</p>

<p>
	“I always thought it was very comfortable for teams playing here before I arrived. I certainly found that when I came here last time with Leyton Orient.
</p>

<p>
	“It’s one of the best stadiums in the league and shouldn’t be at this level given the history and so on.
</p>

<p>
	“But teams used to love coming here because of the fantastic pitch and the fact it’s a lovely ground.
</p>

<p>
	“They had a nice dressing room, but I haven’t changed it around for the opposition, I’ve changed it because it helps us.
</p>

<p>
	“We now have a bootroom which we can utilise and means we can put stuff away whereas before it was out in corridors.
</p>

<p>
	“Now we have a store and a lock-up. I am not trying to be hospitable. I will try to be nice to people, but ultimately it’s game day.”

<p>
	Kevin Nolan has praised Dan Jones for his impressive performances in the last two Notts County games, describing his game against Morecambe as on "another level".
</p>

<p>
	The summer signing was pilloried for his mistakes in the League Two opener at Coventry City, where the hosts put three unanswered goals past the Magpies.
</p>

<p>
	Since then, however, Notts have steadily improved and now sit third in the table, boasting a six-match unbeaten run in all competitions.
</p>

<p>
	Jones has also come along nicely since his poor debut and went on to open the scoring on Saturday against the Shrimps with a well taken free kick, helping the Magpies <a href="https://prideofnottingham.co.uk/home/reports/match-report-notts-county-unbeaten-in-six-following-win-over-morecambe-r1793/" rel="">run out 2-0 winners</a>.
</p>

<p>
	Nolan told the Nottingham Post: “The best thing for me is this is a game when players can prove people wrong. We’ve showed our trust in Dan and he’s been massive for us.
</p>

<p>
	“He’s got somebody in Carl Dickinson who is pushing him all the way for the number one spot. Dan has it at the minute, but he’s got an able replacement if it’s not working.
</p>

<p>
	“Everybody at Coventry wasn’t at the standard they are capable of and everybody had a massive opinion on what I was doing or how I was going about it.
</p>

<p>
	“But people can see that working with the players week in, week out, collectively, individually and in the classroom is paying off.
</p>

<p>
	“It’s working for Dan, I was delighted with Dan. He was fantastic against Port Vale, but stepped it up another level. He capped it off with a fantastic free kick as well.”

<p>
	Morecambe boss Jim Bentley has given his views on his side's encounter with a "big, experienced" Notts County side on Saturday, which ended in a <a href="https://prideofnottingham.co.uk/home/reports/match-report-notts-county-unbeaten-in-six-following-win-over-morecambe-r1793/" rel="">2-0 defeat</a> for the Shrimps.
</p>

<p>
	Meadow Lane was the venue as the Black and White army saw the Magpies face an opponent that had build up a reputation as a bogey team over Notts in recent years.
</p>

<p>
	Dan Jones opened the scoring for the hosts with a 27th-minute free kick which was curled expertly round the Morecambe wall and beyond goalkeeper Barry Roche.
</p>

<p>
	The visitors launched a fightback following the restart but their efforts were to no avail as Notts struck late on through substitute <a href="https://prideofnottingham.co.uk/home/news/pride-of-nottingham-to-sponsor-jonathan-forte-home-kit-for-201718-season-r1689/" rel="">Jonathan Forte</a> as he broke through and rifled home via the inside of the post.
</p>

<p>
	Bentley said to the Lancashire Evening Post: “This was always going to be a difficult game against a big, experienced side and our football was good at times but we just fell a bit short in the final third.
</p>

<p>
	“We did get in a couple of times in the first half but we didn’t take our chances and that proved vital in the end.
</p>

<p>
	“We should have scored from a well-worked corner and then the first time they had a shot on goal their scored from a great free kick and we were up against it again."

<p>
	Alam Hardy has revealed how one prospective Notts County target - a free agent - asked the club for more than £4,000 a week to join.
</p>

<p>
	The Magpies strengthened their ranks throughout the course of the summer and, although there was some mild interest in a number of players late on in the transfer window, nothing came of it.
</p>

<p>
	Hardy wrote in the Nottingham Post: "The window closed last week and I was originally of the opinion that deadline day added great excitement.
</p>

<p>
	"But, on reflection, it seems farcical that some clubs were left racing around to beat the deadline given they’ve had all summer to plan.
</p>

<p>
	"Clubs have months to put a strategy in place, identifying what their team will look like in terms of shape and so on.
</p>

<p>
	"You develop a list of players who fit the vision, so it beggars belief that some clubs need right up until the very last few minutes or seconds of the window to do a deal.
</p>

<p>
	"Let’s be frank, these clubs are multi-million pound businesses, not corner shops.
</p>

<p>
	"Don’t get me wrong, there are genuine cases of managers needing players at short notice, but I think my biggest problem is the hyperbole surrounding the final day of the window, which means fans tend to judge your entire transfer business on the outcome of that 24 hours.
</p>

<p>
	"You can sign player after player, but the manager Kevin Nolan and I view this far more strategically than it appears other clubs do.
</p>

<p>
	"We pursued some exceptional targets but unfortunately couldn’t get them over the line. It didn't mean, however, that we then started scrambling around for others.
</p>

<p>
	"Those players would have been great additions, no doubt, but it was not the be all and end all.
</p>

<p>
	"You also have to bear in mind if you bring five players in on the final day, what kind of message does that send to the rest of the squad?
</p>

<p>
	"Of course, we still have the opportunity to sign players who are out of contract and there are plenty of those available.
</p>

<p>
	"I have to say some of their demands have been off the scale in terms of wages. But it’s like that in any industry at the moment.
</p>

<p>
	"In construction, raw materials have gone up by a single digit in terms of percentage, but salaries have risen by 20 to 30 percent. It’s not just football. It’s right across the board.
</p>

<p>
	"That’s being reflected in players’ demands. A player was put to us recently and I enquired what he would be after in terms of wages.
</p>

<p>
	"He wanted more than £4,000 a week. It’s crazy. Why have they approached a League Two club asking for those kinds of sums?
</p>

<p>
	"A lot of these players still feel they can play in the Championship or League One, but if you haven’t played football for a few months, clubs at that level simply won’t take the risk."

<p>
	Kevin Nolan has described his Notts County players as "magnificent" as they sealed a <a href="https://prideofnottingham.co.uk/home/reports/match-report-notts-county-unbeaten-in-six-following-win-over-morecambe-r1793/" rel="">2-0 win over Morecambe</a> in Saturday's League Two encounter at Meadow Lane.
</p>

<p>
	Dan Jones opened the scoring midway through the first half with a well-taken free kick, while substitute <a href="https://prideofnottingham.co.uk/home/news/pride-of-nottingham-to-sponsor-jonathan-forte-home-kit-for-201718-season-r1689/" rel="">Jonathan Forte</a> made sure of all three points with a late strike.
</p>

<p>
	The result sees the Magpies climb to third in the table and stretches their unbeaten run in all competitions to six games, but Nolan is eager for his side to regroup ahead of Tuesday night's clash with Swindon Town.
</p>

<p>
	"It was a lot better than last week's performance [at Port Vale]," Nolan told the official website. "I thought we dominated throughout.
</p>

<p>
	"The lads were magnificent. They followed up a hard-fought win last week with another top performance and clean sheet today.
</p>

<p>
	"As a defensive unit I feel we had to get better from last year. We were leaking goals from here, there and everywhere and now we look like a really good, solid unit.
</p>

<p>
	"It was a great all-round performance and I'm absolutely delighted. We're on a decent run now but the games come thick and fast.
</p>

<p>
	"We've got another tough one on Tuesday night so we're looking forward to that."

<p>
	Notts County goalkeeper Adam Collin has hailed the performances of Shaun Brisley and Richard Duffy in front of him in defence.
</p>

<p>
	The Magpies have a chance to make it six games unbeaten when they host Morecambe in League Two tomorrow.
</p>

<p>
	Collin has kept two clean sheets in the five league games played by Notts so far, but he paid credit to his centre-backs as Brisley fights to be in contention following his injury in the Port Vale win last week.
</p>

<p>
	The stopper told the official Notts website: "It's massive for me to have a consistent back four in front of me.
</p>

<p>
	"Shaun Brisley and Richard Duffy have been outstanding and are forming a good partnership, which makes it so much easier for me to play behind. I know what I'm getting from them nine times out of 10.
</p>

<p>
	"It's so important for the back four and me to have confidence in one another. It's been settled so far but we know people are capable of stepping up as and when they're needed."

<p>
	Kevin Nolan wants Notts County to continue their good form at home and continue building Meadow Lane up as a fortress as they prepare to host Morecambe this weekend.
</p>

<p>
	The Magpies are flying high in League Two after putting their opening-day 3-0 defeat at Coventry City behind them, and currently boast a five-game unbeaten run in all competitions.
</p>

<p>
	Morecambe, however, have proven a bogey team for Notts in recent games, which include two 4-1 wins over the Magpies.
</p>

<p>
	Nolan told the official Notts website: "They've had two good away draws in the last couple of games and they put us to the sword twice last year, playing really well on both occasions.
</p>

<p>
	"You can never take anyone for granted. This is going to be a tough game. We've got a returning Adam Campbell who's going to want to prove himself and Kevin Ellison is a nuisance all game.
</p>

<p>
	"We're not in for an easy ride. We're going to have to be patient."
</p>

<p>
	Meanwhile, the Nottingham Post quotes him as saying: “Teams will come here and respect what we have done.
</p>

<p>
	"That’s a credit to our lads and what they have achieved. What they have to do is ensure they don’t let teams off.
</p>

<p>
	“They have to put them on the back foot, and keep dominating. We want to keep Meadow Lane a fortress and we want teams to fear coming here.
</p>

<p>
	“And when they’ve left we want them to say ‘we are glad we aren’t going there again’. That’s what we want to create, and bit by bit we are getting there.”

<p>
	Kevin Nolan has revealed that Shaun Brisley looks more likely than not to play a part in Notts County's League Two home encounter with Morecambe this weekend.
</p>

<p>
	The defender was taken off late in the Magpies' <a href="https://prideofnottingham.co.uk/home/reports/match-report-lewis-alessandra-strikes-to-give-notts-county-victory-at-port-vale-r1769/" rel="">1-0 win over Port Vale</a> last week after receiving a blow to the head.
</p>

<p>
	However, when asked about injury worries ahead of the Meadow Lane fixture this Saturday, Nolan provided a positive update about Brisley.
</p>

<p>
	“We have no injury worries,” he told the Nottingham Post.
</p>

<p>
	“Obviously we had Bris (Brisley) who came off in the last 10 minutes or so against Port Vale.
</p>

<p>
	“But he’s come through training and if there are no problems over the next 24-48 hours, we should be free to play whoever we want.
</p>

<p>
	“I'm delighted there was no severe damage. We are not out of the woods yet with him and I said after the game last week that we will look after his welfare.
</p>

<p>
	“We'll make sure he's alright. His health and livelihood comes well before anything else.
</p>

<p>
	“Fingers crossed he will be okay. He's come through a couple of training sessions, but you don’t know what could happen. There could be late concussion and/or he could get blackouts.
</p>

<p>
	“But we’ll leave no stone unturned to make sure he’s okay.”

<p>
	Adam Collin has declared himself pleased with his performances so far this season for Notts County and believes that he can hang onto the number one jersey providing he keeps doing what he's doing.
</p>

<p>
	The 32-year-old has started each of his side's five League Two games in the current campaign and has kept two clean sheets in that time.
</p>

<p>
	Although Kevin Nolan brought in two goalkeepers this summer in in Branislav Pindroch and Ross Fitzsimons, who have played in the cup competitions so far, Collin is unfazed by the competition.
</p>

<p>
	“I am delighted with my own form and have been since the gaffer came in,” he told the Nottingham Post. “I’m just trying to be as consistent as I can.
</p>

<p>
	“The gaffer always said I was his number one since he walked through the door, which gives you loads of confidence. That’s never changed in my eyes and I am just getting on with the job.
</p>

<p>
	“I know there’s people wanting to take my place and it was the same with (Scott Loach) last year.
</p>

<p>
	“We’ve bought Bran and Ross in and they are ready to come in at any time. So that keeps me on my toes. Only one of us can play but I know if I keep doing what I am doing I’ll be playing every week.”

<p>
	Kevin Nolan has described Notts County captain Richard Duffy as a “proper man’s man”.
</p>

<p>
	The defender produced an impressive performance against former club Port Vale last weekend, helping the Magpies clinch a <a href="https://prideofnottingham.co.uk/home/reports/match-report-lewis-alessandra-strikes-to-give-notts-county-victory-at-port-vale-r1769/" rel="">1-0 win at Vale Park</a> and helping them climb to fifth in the table.
</p>

<p>
	It capped off what has been a good start to the season for Duffy who has been handed the skipper’s armband in the absence of injured midfielder Michael O’Connor - and is a huge turnaround from last season, when he was being derided by many Notts fans for poor performances.
</p>

<p>
	“He was perfect (against Vale) and I’ve had full confidence in Duffer since I walked through the door,” Nolan told the Nottingham Post. “He is a proper man and a proper man’s man.
</p>

<p>
	“You can see that by the way he conducts himself on the pitch and the way he marshals the defence.
</p>

<p>
	“He and Shaun Brisley are starting to form a great relationship. It’s a great partnership going forward.”

<p><img src="https://prideofnottingham.co.uk/uploads/monthly_2017_09/shola-min.jpg.703f0c71686c8ce21457b84518aeac5b.jpg" /></p>
<p>
	Shola Ameobi has admitted that Notts County was "on its knees" when he joined in February this year, but is happy at the improvements since and is eager to bring honour back to the club.
</p>

<p>
	The former Newcastle United striker, a former colleague of Notts boss Kevin Nolan at St James' Park, arrived at Meadow Lane with the club battling relegation from League Two.
</p>

<p>
	Things are much different at present, with new owner Alan Hardy investing in the club and engaging with the fans, while on the pitch, the team is in the top seven of the fledgling table, making for a feelgood vibe.
</p>

<p>
	“The club was on its knees. The first time I came into the dressing room, I could sense that,” Ameobi told The Guardian.
</p>

<p>
	“The players had played four games under Kevin, winning one and drawing one but, before that, they had lost 10 in a row. It is hard to escape that rot.
</p>

<p>
	“It’s been about trying to get the honour back. It’s important that we build something positive for the city; build a winning, positive culture. The players have to have respect for the club they’re playing for.
</p>

<p>
	"That’s what I’m all about – making sure you’re wearing the shirt with pride and giving everything. We’ve been able to do that in the short space of time I’ve been here.”
