<p>
	Notts County put on a dominant display at Meadow Lane, securing a convincing 4-1 victory over Grimsby Town.
</p>

<p>
	The Magpies took control of the match early on and never looked back, delighting the home fans with a performance full of attacking flair and clinical finishing.
</p>

<p>
	The match kicked off with both sides eager to make an impact, but it was Notts County who struck first. Just six minutes into the game, Alassana Jatta found himself perfectly positioned to convert a cross from Dan Crowley, tapping the ball home from close range to give the Magpies an early lead.
</p>

<p>
	Grimsby Town struggled to contain Notts County’s relentless attacking pressure, and it wasn’t long before the home side doubled their advantage. In the 15th minute, Dan Crowley got his name on the scoresheet, finishing off a well-worked corner routine. Jodi Jones delivered an inviting cross into the box, which Crowley met with a precise left-footed strike to make it 2-0.
</p>

<p>
	Notts County’s dominance continued throughout the first half, and they added a third goal just before the break. In the 45th minute, Jodi Jones produced a moment of individual brilliance, curling a right-footed shot into the top left corner after receiving a pass from Jatta. The goal capped off a superb first half for the Magpies, who went into the interval with a commanding 3-1 lead.
</p>

<p>
	Grimsby Town managed to pull one back in first-half stoppage time through Harvey Rodgers. The defender found the back of the net with a right-footed shot from close range, following a headed pass from Lewis Cass after a set-piece situation. However, this proved to be little more than a consolation as Notts County remained in control.
</p>

<p>
	The second half saw the visitors attempting to mount a comeback, but Notts County’s defence stood firm, and the hosts continued to threaten on the counter-attack. Grimsby Town had a few chances, but their efforts were either blocked or off target, with Charles Vernam and Kieran Green both coming close without success.
</p>

<p>
	Notts County put the game beyond doubt in the 57th minute when Dan Crowley scored his second goal of the match. Crowley, who was a constant threat throughout the game, found space in the box and fired a right-footed shot into the top left corner, leaving Grimsby’s goalkeeper with no chance.
</p>

<p>
	The remainder of the match saw Notts County manage the game effectively, with substitutions providing fresh legs to maintain their dominance. Cedwyn Scott and David McGoldrick both had opportunities to extend the lead further, but their efforts missed the target.
</p>

<p>
	Despite Grimsby Town’s attempts to get back into the match, Notts County’s defence held firm, and the Magpies saw out the game to secure a well-deserved 4-1 victory. The win maintains their strong position in the league and will boost confidence ahead of their upcoming fixtures.
</p>

<p>
	Notts County’s fans will be thrilled with the performance, which showcased their team’s attacking prowess and resilience. As the final whistle blew, Meadow Lane erupted in celebration, with the home side having delivered a performance to remember.

<p>
	Notts County's League Cup journey ended in heart-wrenching fashion as they were knocked out by Shrewsbury Town in a 4-3 penalty shoot-out following a gripping 3-3 draw after 90 minutes. The Magpies showed great determination and spirit, but ultimately, it was the home side that held their nerve in the penalties, leaving County fans wondering what might have been.
</p>

<p>
	The match kicked off with Notts County asserting their dominance early on. Within just four minutes, Conor Grant capitalised on a perfectly delivered cross from Jodi Jones to head home from close range, giving the Magpies a dream start. This early strike set the tone for a first half in which Notts County were in control, showcasing their attacking intent and technical superiority.
</p>

<p>
	Their dominance was further reflected in the possession stats, with Notts County enjoying 59.7% of the ball compared to Shrewsbury's 40.3%. County's pressing and ball retention were key features of the first half, and they were rewarded again in the 23rd minute when Sam Austin doubled the visitors' lead. David McGoldrick played a crucial role in the build-up, providing the assist for Austin, who finished clinically into the bottom corner, giving Shrewsbury's goalkeeper no chance.
</p>

<p>
	As the first half drew to a close, Notts County looked to be cruising, with their defence largely untroubled by Shrewsbury’s sporadic attacks. However, the second half saw a resurgent Shrewsbury Town side come out with renewed vigour. The home team knew they had to change the tempo of the game, and that they did, mounting pressure on Notts County's backline.
</p>

<p>
	In the 68th minute, the pressure told. Joshua Kayode latched onto a loose ball inside the box and managed to squeeze his shot past the goalkeeper from a difficult angle, reducing the deficit to 2-1. The goal ignited the home crowd and lifted Shrewsbury, who suddenly looked the more likely to score. Just three minutes later, they found an equaliser. Jordan Shipley, who had been a threat throughout, rose highest to nod in a cross from Tommi O'Reilly, levelling the score at 2-2.
</p>

<p>
	The momentum had shifted dramatically, and Shrewsbury capitalised further in the 84th minute when Shipley scored his second of the match. This time, it was a well-placed header into the bottom corner following a cross from Jordan Rossiter, leaving Notts County reeling as they saw their two-goal lead evaporate.
</p>

<p>
	However, Notts County showed resilience and refused to be beaten. With just a minute of normal time remaining, Alassana Jatta met Dan Crowley’s corner with a powerful header to make it 3-3, sending the game to penalties.
</p>

<p>
	During the intense shoot-out, Notts County was faced with a gruelling test of their nerves. Dan Crowley, Cedwyn Scott, and Alassana Jatta all converted their penalties, but the turning point came when David McGoldrick's effort sailed just over the bar, followed by Curtis Edwards’ penalty being saved by the Shrewsbury goalkeeper. Despite their best efforts, Notts were ultimately undone by the precision of Shrewsbury’s Malvind Benning, who converted the decisive penalty to win the tie 4-3 on penalties.
</p>

<p>
	The statistics tell a story of what could have been for Notts County. They registered 12 shots compared to Shrewsbury’s 7, but only three of these were on target. Shrewsbury, on the other hand, made the most of their opportunities, with five of their seven shots forcing a save. Notts County also had the upper hand in corners, winning eight to Shrewsbury’s five, and they dominated possession. However, they lacked the clinical edge needed in front of goal.
</p>

<p>
	The Magpies' discipline was also on display, committing just five fouls and receiving only one yellow card, compared to Shrewsbury's 13 fouls and two bookings. Despite these positives, the result was a bitter pill to swallow.
</p>

<p>
	As the final whistle blew, Notts County could only reflect on a match that slipped away in dramatic fashion. Their time in the League Cup may be over, but the determination and fight they showed will give fans hope for the rest of the season. The focus now turns back to the league, where the Magpies will look to bounce back from this disappointing exit.

<p>
	The 2024/25 League Two season began with a goalless draw between Tranmere Rovers and Notts County at Prenton Park, as the Magpies controlled much of the game but were unable to convert their dominance into a winning goal.
</p>

<p>
	Stuart Maynard's Notts County side took control from the outset, enjoying 65.4% of the possession, yet found themselves frustrated by a resilient Tranmere defence. The hosts, however, started brightly, with debutant Cameron Norman providing an early scare for the visitors. His dangerous cross after 15 minutes forced the Magpies to clear the ball from close to their goal line.
</p>

<p>
	Tranmere's most threatening moments came through Luke Norris, who tested debutant goalkeeper Alex Bass with a sharp turn and shot in the 18th minute. Bass, one of four debutants for Notts, reacted swiftly to keep the effort out, underlining his importance in securing a point for the visitors. Tranmere managed eight shots during the match but found the target just twice, with Bass dealing comfortably with their best opportunities.
</p>

<p>
	Notts County grew into the match as the first half wore on, crafting their best chance just before the half-hour mark. Matty Platt's precise pass found Adam Chicksen, whose knockdown presented Cedwyn Scott with an opportunity on the edge of the area. However, his left-footed effort was blocked, one of several instances where Tranmere’s defence stood firm under pressure.
</p>

<p>
	The second half saw the Magpies continue to assert their dominance, with Tranmere managing only 34.6% of the possession. Despite this, Tranmere looked dangerous on the break, and Josh Davison had a golden opportunity on 65 minutes after being played in by Norris. However, Bass was again up to the task, making a comfortable save from close range.
</p>

<p>
	Notts County responded quickly, and their best chance of the match came moments later. Dan Crowley delivered a superb cross into the box, but Alassana Jatta could only head over from six yards. The Magpies registered 11 shots in total, though only one of these efforts tested the Tranmere goalkeeper.
</p>

<p>
	As the match drew to a close, Notts continued to press, winning eight corners compared to Tranmere’s five. However, despite their relentless pressure, they couldn't find the breakthrough. Robbie Cundy came closest in stoppage time, glancing a header wide from a Crowley corner, much to the relief of the home supporters.
</p>

<p>
	Discipline was an area of note, with Tranmere committing 13 fouls and receiving one yellow card, while Notts were penalised five times and also had a player booked.
</p>

<p>
	In the end, despite their superior possession and the increased number of shots, Notts County had to settle for a point. The Magpies can take heart from a dominant second-half display, though they will undoubtedly feel they deserved more from a game in which they controlled large periods and created the better chances.

<p>
	In a gripping encounter at Edgeley Park, Stockport County emerged triumphant with a 2-1 victory over Notts County. Their resilience and tactical prowess were on full display. The game wrapped up in a whirlwind of suspense, keeping spectators glued to their seats, hearts pounding, right up until the referee’s final blow.
</p>

<p>
	The pivotal moment unfolded in the 85th minute. Jayden Richardson of Stockport County drew a foul in the penalty area, paving the way for a nerve-wracking penalty kick. Paddy Madden stepped up and calmly slotted the ball into the bottom right corner. This doubled Stockport's lead and put them in control.
</p>

<p>
	Yet, the game took a dramatic turn just moments later. David McGoldrick of Notts County exhibited precision with a right-footed shot from the centre of the box in the 90+3rd minute. The ball found the bottom left corner, narrowing the scoreline to 2-1 and setting the stage for an intense finale.
</p>

<p>
	Throughout the match, Stockport County showcased defensive resilience and tactical discipline. This frustrated Notts County's attacking aspirations. Kyle Cameron of Notts County received a yellow card in the 85th minute for a reckless foul. This led to the pivotal penalty that ultimately decided the outcome.
</p>

<p>
	The first half saw Stockport County take the lead in the 7th minute. Kyle Wootton clinically found the net with a right-footed shot from the centre of the box. The goal resulted from a well-executed set-piece, with Kyle Knoyle providing a crucial assist following a corner.
</p>

<p>
	The opening half also witnessed some close calls. David McGoldrick and Jodi Jones of Notts County attempted shots from outside the box but failed to hit the target. Stockport County's disciplined defensive line, marshalled by Neill Byrne, successfully thwarted these attempts. This maintained their slender lead.
</p>

<p>
	As the match progressed, both teams strategically introduced fresh legs through substitutions. Notably, Stockport County brought on Joel Cotterill in the 90th minute. This reinforced their defensive resolve and secured a vital three points.
</p>

<p>
	In the aftermath of the match, Stockport County's manager expressed contentment with the result. Buoyed by the team's gritty performance, the victory propels Stockport County up the league standings. This underscores their determination to compete at the highest level.
</p>

<p>
	While the Notts County faithful may be disappointed by the outcome, the players' commitment and the late-game suspense surely left an indelible mark on their footballing hearts.

<p>
	In the hallowed grounds of Meadow Lane, the faithful Notts County supporters were taken on a footballing odyssey that ended in a bittersweet 3-2 defeat against Shrewsbury Town.
</p>

<p>
	This thrilling match had spectators on tenterhooks, with the final whistle bringing a mix of relief and heartbreak.
</p>

<p>
	The early minutes unfolded with Notts County in an unwelcome predicament as Ryan Bowman clinically slotted home from close range, propelling Shrewsbury Town into an early lead within the first minute. Yet, adversity seemed to act as a catalyst for Notts County, prompting a response that saw them gradually assert control over the proceedings.
</p>

<p>
	The pivotal moment arrived in the 38th minute, a moment etched in the memories of the Magpies faithful. With a dash of daring, Richard Brindley fired a powerful right-footed strike from beyond the box, hitting the bottom left corner and levelling the score for Notts County. The jubilation that followed injected a renewed vigour into the home side, and the balance of the game swung tantalisingly with chances flowing at both ends.
</p>

<p>
	Just before the half-time whistle, the pendulum swung once again as Cheyenne Dunkley of Shrewsbury Town received a yellow card for a foul, setting the stage for a dramatic second act that had fans anticipating the unfolding drama.
</p>

<p>
	The second half began with the teams evenly matched at 1-1, but this balance was soon disrupted. In the 49th minute, Ryan Bowman, with clinical precision, secured his brace, firing a precise shot from the left side of the box that eluded the outstretched Notts County goalkeeper.
</p>

<p>
	The Magpies, undeterred, displayed admirable resilience with James Sanderson pulling one back in the 75th minute. A clinical finish from the centre of the box brought hope, and the fans roared in anticipation as Notts County fervently pushed for an equaliser. The stadium was buzzing with tension, reflecting the emotional whirlwind taking place on the field.
</p>

<p>
	However, despite a valiant effort, Shrewsbury Town sealed the victory with a third goal, a testament to the unerring strike from Jordan Shipley. The away side held firm in the dying minutes, denying Notts County the chance to salvage a draw and leaving the Meadow Lane faithful with hearts heavy as the final whistle sounded, sealing a 3-2 defeat.
</p>

<p>
	In the wake of a thrilling encounter, the focus inevitably shifts to the analysis of tactical decisions and individual performances. Notts County, in their introspection, will lament the squandered chances and defensive errors that marred their game. Yet, the resilient spirit they displayed in their attempt to turn the tide offers a beacon of hope. With the steadfast backing of their loyal supporters, the Magpies are tasked with drawing wisdom from this experience and fortifying themselves for upcoming battles.
</p>

<p>
	Football's inherent unpredictability means that today's sorrow may well lay the groundwork for future victories. The disappointment felt by Notts County is but a moment in their ongoing saga. As they forge ahead on their journey, the wisdom gained and the encouragement they’ve received will surely ignite their hopes for triumph in the future. The beautiful game goes on, and with it, the undying passion of the Magpies and their fans.

<p>
	In a gruelling encounter at Sincil Bank, Lincoln City emerged as victors, sealing a 2-0 win against Notts County in a contest that had the Notts County faithful experiencing a rollercoaster of emotions.
</p>

<p>
	The match commenced with an air of anticipation, and both sides wasted no time in showing their intent. Lincoln City, playing host, set the tone early on. In the 6th minute, the Imps seized the initiative when Jack Burroughs clinically dispatched a right-footed shot from the right side of the box into the bottom right corner. Unfortunately for the visitors, the goal came on the back of an earlier offside call, which temporarily offered a glimmer of hope to Notts County.
</p>

<p>
	The first half witnessed intense action, characterized by moments of attacking brilliance and stout defending. Lincoln City's Paudie O'Connor found his name in the referee's book after a rash challenge, and Notts County's Oliver Tipton also received a yellow card for a foul. Despite the visitors creating opportunities, the hosts' solid defensive work left Notts County unable to make their mark on the scoreboard.
</p>

<p>
	As the first half drew to a close, Lincoln City held the lead at 1-0, leaving Notts County fans hoping for a turnaround in the second period.
</p>

<p>
	The second half unfolded with a sense of urgency, as Notts County sought to level the score. Offside calls continued to punctuate the match, though Notts County pressed forward in their pursuit of an equalizer. Dan Gosling and Richard Brindley were introduced as fresh legs by the visitors, aiming to shift the momentum in their favour.
</p>

<p>
	However, Lincoln City's defence stood strong, denying Notts County's advances. An injury to Jaden Brown forced a substitution, with Olamide Shodipo taking his place.
</p>

<p>
	In the 67th minute, the match's decisive moment arrived, leaving Notts County supporters disheartened. Jack Vale, wearing Lincoln City's colours, found himself in a favourable position and calmly slotted home a right-footed shot from the centre of the box, leaving Notts County's custodian with no chance. It was a fast break that caught the visitors off guard and effectively sealed the game for the Imps.
</p>

<p>
	Substitutions and injuries continued to punctuate the match, but Notts County's valiant efforts failed to breach the resolute Lincoln City defence. The final score stood at 2-0 in favour of the home team.
</p>

<p>
	In conclusion, while the scoreline may not have been to the liking of Notts County fans, the tenacity and determination of their team should serve as a source of pride. The visitors exhibited attacking prowess and unyielding commitment throughout the encounter.
</p>

<p>
	Lincoln City, on the other hand, showcased a resolute defence and a knack for capitalizing on their opportunities. The victory further solidified their position in the league.
</p>

<p>
	As both teams now regroup and prepare for their upcoming fixtures, Notts County supporters can find solace in the spirited display put forth by their players. The team's dedication and spirit were evident, and they will undoubtedly look to bounce back from this setback with renewed vigour and determination in the matches that lie ahead.

<p>
	In a thrilling encounter at the Community Stadium, Colchester United edged out Notts County in a nine-goal thriller, winning 5-4. The match was a rollercoaster ride of emotions, with both teams displaying exceptional skill and determination.
</p>

<p>
	In the 10th minute, the game exploded into action with an incredible goal by Noah Chilvers from Colchester United. With a powerful right-footed shot from beyond 35 yards, he skilfully placed the ball right into the centre of the goal. This early goal set the tone for what was to be an exciting match. The crowd roared in approval as Chilvers' shot found the back of the net, marking an explosive start to the game.
</p>

<p>
	However, Notts County quickly responded with Sam Austin scoring a right-footed shot from the centre of the box to the bottom left corner in the 21st minute. This equaliser brought a renewed sense of hope and determination to the Notts County side. The first half ended with Colchester United leading 3-1, setting up an intriguing second half.
</p>

<p>
	The second half was no different, with the lead changing hands multiple times. In the 73rd minute, Arthur Read of Colchester United delivered an awe-inspiring goal from beyond the box, elevating the score to an impressive 5-3. Read's exceptional skill and accuracy were clearly evident in this goal, rendering the goalkeeper completely defenceless.
</p>

<p>
	Notts County refused to back down, showing their fighting spirit. Jodi Jones scored a crucial goal in the 67th minute. This was followed by a header from Macaulay Langstaff in the 90+2nd minute, bringing the score to 5-4.
</p>

<p>
	Despite their best efforts, Notts County couldn't find an equaliser. David McGoldrick had multiple attempts on goal but was unable to convert. Notts County's Kyle Cameron also had a shot saved in the 90+5th minute.
</p>

<p>
	Colchester United had to play the last ten minutes with ten men after Cameron McGeehan received his second yellow card in the 79th minute. Despite being a man down, Colchester managed to hold on for a memorable victory. This showed their resilience and determination, as they defended their lead under immense pressure.
</p>

<p>
	The match was not without controversy, with several contentious decisions made by the referee. Notts County felt aggrieved by some of these decisions, particularly the second yellow card shown to McGeehan. These incidents added an extra layer of drama to an already intense match.
</p>

<p>
	It was an enthralling match that had everything - goals, drama, and controversy. Both teams can be proud of their performances. They displayed great skill and determination throughout the match. However, it was Colchester United who walked away with all three points. Their triumph is a reflection of their prowess, tenacity, and fortitude. This contest will undoubtedly be remembered as one of the season’s most thrilling encounters.

<p>
	In an electrifying match at Meadow Lane, Notts County triumphed, courtesy of goals from Dan Crowley, Macaulay Langstaff, John Bostock, and David McGoldrick. The first half was dominated by Crowley and Langstaff, who put the team in the lead. However, the second half started on a slower note, allowing Troy Deeney to equalise with two quick goals.
</p>

<p>
	Despite this setback, Notts County swiftly regained their footing. Bostock and McGoldrick restored the two-goal lead, but the match was far from over. Deeney completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot, setting up a tense finish.
</p>

<p>
	The team's strategy was marked by changes in the wing back areas following their previous win at Salford. The first half concluded with a two-goal advantage for Notts County. The second half began slowly but saw an immediate response with strategic substitutions that helped retake and maintain the lead.
</p>

<p>
	Deeney's continued threat kept the pressure on Notts County. However, the team managed to extend their unbeaten run to eight matches, reclaiming their position at the top of the table. This victory underlines Notts County's resilience and ability to respond under pressure.
</p>

<p>
	The match was a testament to Notts County's tenacity. Despite facing a formidable opponent and experiencing several twists and turns in the game, they held their nerve to secure a win. This victory not only extended their unbeaten run but also sent a strong message to their rivals about their unwavering resolve and fighting spirit.
</p>

<p>
	The game had its fair share of memorable moments - from Crowley and Langstaff's goals in the first half to Deeney's hat-trick that kept everyone on edge till the very end. But it was Notts County's ability to bounce back from setbacks that stood out.
</p>

<p>
	The strategic changes made by the team following their win at Salford also played a crucial role in their victory. The substitutions made during the second half were particularly effective in retaking and maintaining the lead.
</p>

<p>
	In conclusion, it was an exciting match filled with high drama and outstanding performances. Notts County emerged victorious, demonstrating remarkable resilience and strategic acumen. They have set themselves up well for future matches and will undoubtedly carry this momentum forward.
</p>

<p>
	The match also showcased some excellent individual performances. Crowley and Langstaff were particularly impressive in the first half, while Bostock and McGoldrick stepped up in the second half to restore the lead. Deeney's hat-trick for the opposition added an extra layer of excitement to the game.
</p>

<p>
	It was a great day for Notts County and their fans. The team showed great character and determination to secure a win against a tough opponent. This victory will surely boost their confidence as they continue their campaign in the league.

<p>
	In a closely contested match at Stadium MK, Notts County managed to secure a hard-fought point against MK Dons, with the game ending in a 1-1 draw. The encounter featured two of Sky Bet League Two's early pace-setters, and the tension was palpable from the first whistle.
</p>

<p>
	The opening half was a tightly contested affair, with both sides creating opportunities but failing to break the deadlock. Notts County's Macaulay Langstaff had a golden opportunity to put his side ahead, but his close-range effort failed to find the target. The Magpies continued to press forward, with their midfielders working tirelessly to create openings.
</p>

<p>
	The second half started with a bang as MK Dons' Daniel Harvie put his side ahead with an excellent angled finish. However, Notts County showed great resilience and character. Their captain, Kyle Cameron, stepped up and levelled the scores just past the hour mark. His excellent strike was just what the Magpies needed, injecting new energy into the team.
</p>

<p>
	Both teams had chances to clinch the win late in the game, but they had to settle for a point each. This result maintains MK Dons' unbeaten start at Stadium MK, but more importantly for Notts County fans, it keeps their team in the mix at the top of the table.
</p>

<p>
	Despite the draw, there were plenty of positives for Notts County. The team showed great spirit and determination to come from behind and secure a point away from home. Captain Kyle Cameron's performance was particularly remarkable. His second-half strike not only levelled the scores but also served as a reminder of his leadership and importance to this Notts County side.
</p>

<p>
	The Magpies' defence also put in a solid shift, with centre-backs Connell Rawlinson and Alex Lacey making several crucial interceptions. Goalkeeper Aidan Stone made some important saves to keep his side in the game.
</p>

<p>
	This result leaves Notts County in a strong position in League Two, with 13 points from their first six games. They will be looking to build on this performance in their upcoming matches and continue their strong start to the season.
</p>

<p>
	It was a hard-fought match at Stadium MK. Notts County showed great character to come from behind and secure a valuable point. With plenty of positives to take from this game, they will be looking forward to their next match with renewed confidence.

<p>
	Notts County roared to the top of the Sky Bet League Two table on Saturday afternoon with a fantastic 3-1 victory over Accrington Stanley at Meadow Lane.
</p>

<p>
	The win, their third in a row, puts them in first place after six games in the fourth tier, and goes a long way into giving belief in their campaign for back-to-back promotions.
</p>

<p>
	An early header by Dan Crowley was soon cancelled out by a looping Josh Andrews header, but a sensational brace from Macauley Langstaff in the second half put County in the driving seat on the way to three massive points. Only one change was made between the two sides, both of whom followed 2–1 victories over Tranmere Rovers and Salford City into this game, with just Jay Rich-Baghuelou absent for the visitors in change with Joe Gubbins at the back.
</p>

<p>
	The action at Meadow Lane got off to a flying start, firstly as a simple cross into the area by Accrington was fumbled by Aidan Stone, but the goalkeeper recovered in time as Whalley looked to divert home inside the first two minutes. Notts managed to shake the scare off and soon had the ball in the back of the net, as a wonderful recycled cross by Jodi Jones met the head of Dan Crowley at the back post to give the hosts an early advantage.
</p>

<p>
	Jones had another chance to fire in a cross from the same position immediately after the goal, but he sent that one into the grateful arms of Toby Savin. Accrington were presented with a great opportunity to bite back just before the half-hour mark as a slip from Kyle Cameron allowed Whalley to break in on the right, but his delivery was poor, and it allowed Notts to clear.
</p>

<p>
	They gave away a cheap foul on the flank soon after, though, and a high ball to the back post was headed back over the flailing Stone and into the back of the net, with striker David McGoldrick unable to hack the ball off the line at the death. The goal took the sting out of the game somewhat, with neither side carving out anything clear-cut.
</p>

<p>
	The second half began with County making their way back into control. A sharp bit of footwork from Macauley Langstaff on the right wing saw him squeeze away from Rosaire Longelo, but his cross was cleared away to Palmer who recycled it into a low shot for Jones that fizzed wide. However, Langstaff would not be denied for long as he scored twice in quick succession to put Notts County firmly in control.
</p>

<p>
	Although Accrington Stanley were defeated by Notts County, the winners of last season's National League Play-Off, their missed opportunities were truly regrettable. Josh Andrews equalised for the Reds in the first half, and they had double figures in shots at the Magpies goal but couldn’t grab another. County made sure of victory in the final minute and took three points as they rose to top of the table and Stanley dropped to eighth.

<p>
	Notts County achieved a well-earned 2-1 win against Tranmere Rovers at Meadow Lane, concluding the first month of the league season.
</p>

<p>
	David McGoldrick scored an early goal for the Magpies with a low shot from the edge of the box that beat Luke McGee. In the second half, Connell Rawlinson increased their lead by tapping in Matt Palmer’s cross from close range.
</p>

<p>
	Tranmere Rovers put up a fight towards the end, with Josh Hawkes successfully converting Paul Lewis' delivery to give them hope. However, Notts County held their ground and ultimately came out victorious.
</p>

<p>
	The visitors made several changes to their line-up from last weekend’s 4-3 loss to Salford City. Chris Merrie and Charlie Jolley, who made his first league start in 18 months, replaced Lee O’Connor and Luke Norris.
</p>

<p>
	Aaron Nemane was a thorn in Rovers' side, getting behind their defence twice and sending crosses into the box that were handled by Tom Davies. However, Notts County soon found an opening when McGoldrick perfectly placed a low shot across McGee from the edge of the box, giving them the lead at 12 minutes.
</p>

<p>
	Notts County dominated the game, with Macaulay Langstaff eager to contribute with a goal. He was first denied by Connor Jennings on the line before scuffing a shot over from a few yards out a minute later. Tranmere began to find their footing before the half hour mark when Kieron Morris met an excellent long ball from the back but fired over after breaking into the box.
</p>

<p>
	Lewis was penalised for fouling Jodi Jones in the box but felt he was brought down in the box himself shortly afterwards. Referee Thomas Parsons remained unconvinced. Davies leapt high to meet a cross from the right but could only find Aidan Stone's gloves as the half-time whistle blew.
</p>

<p>
	An hour into the game, McGoldrick hit the post with a shot from the edge of the box before Dan Crowley fired wide from a few yards out. A few minutes later, Notts County doubled their lead when Rawlinson tapped in Palmer’s fierce delivery across goal.
</p>

<p>
	Ian Dawes made four substitutions, bringing Kane Hemmings, Hawkes, Sam Taylor and Reece McAlear into the game. The hosts were reduced to ten men when substitute Cedwyn Scott had to leave the field with all substitutions already made.
</p>

<p>
	Rovers had their best moments in the final ten minutes when Davies hit the bar with a curling shot from range and Taylor went close shortly afterwards after being set up by Hemmings inside the box. Hawkes swept home Lewis’ delivery from the right to give Tranmere hope as the 90th minute approached, but Notts County held on through eight minutes of added time to leave Meadow Lane with all three points.

<p>
	Notts County secured a comfortable victory against Doncaster on a windy summer afternoon, with Macaulay Langstaff scoring his first English Football League goals and Jodi Jones adding a third.
</p>

<p>
	Langstaff scored with a volley and header on either side of half-time, while Jones sealed the win with an excellent finish in front of a packed away end. Doncaster managed to score a late consolation goal, but it did little to dampen the spirits of Notts County as they claimed their second win of the season.
</p>

<p>
	Richard Brindley was recalled to the heart of Notts County's defence, replacing Adam Chicksen, after being left out of Tuesday’s draw at Morecambe as a precaution. Brindley was joined by Kyle Cameron and Aden Baldwin in the back three, while Aidan Stone continued in goal after keeping his first clean sheet on the Lancashire coast. On the right, Sam Austin replaced Aaron Nemane, who was named among the substitutes, while Jones continued on the left.
</p>

<p>
	John Bostock returned to the base of midfield alongside Matt Palmer after having his minutes managed in midweek. Langstaff was supported by Dan Crowley and David McGoldrick. McGoldrick was involved in the game’s first notable incidents, scuffing a long-range shot wide under pressure before being shown a yellow card for shooting after the referee had stopped play.
</p>

<p>
	Langstaff appeared to have been pulled back in the build-up to that incident, and frustrations continued moments later when Jones was booked for arguing against a foul given against him. Tyler Roberts should have done better to punish a mix-up between Austin and Baldwin on 20 minutes but got his shot all wrong in front of a packed away end.
</p>

<p>
	After Bostock was cautioned for a foul 25 yards out, Notts County took the lead from a set-piece routine. The ball was returned to Bostock in a crossing position, and he produced the perfect delivery for Langstaff to guide home on the volley.
</p>

<p>
	Langstaff came close to scoring again moments later but was denied by an excellent defensive header which prevented him from converting Austin’s looping cross - the final goalmouth action of the half. Doncaster made three changes at half-time, but it did not prevent Notts County from doubling their lead within a minute of the restart as Austin’s cross from deep was headed home by Langstaff.
</p>

<p>
	It was 3-0 on 54 minutes when Crowley advanced into space and saw his dangerous cross fumbled by Lawlor, allowing Jones to cut inside and find the bottom corner from eight yards. Langstaff came close to completing his hat-trick shortly after the hour mark but could not convert McGoldrick’s cross.
</p>

<p>
	Notts County's number nine came close again on 69 minutes when he controlled Cameron’s pass before volleying against the outside of the post from a tight angle. As the clock ticked over to 75 minutes, Doncaster had not managed a shot on target but then had two in quick succession as Deji Sotona drew a save from Stone before Joe Ironside failed to loop the ball over the keeper.
</p>

<p>
	Cedwyn Scott, who came on for McGoldrick, delivered an impressive response for Notts County with a tremendous shot that forced Lawlor into making an excellent reaction save. Stone still had work to do to preserve his clean sheet, making an excellent save down to his right before comfortably denying Ironside.
</p>

<p>
	In the end, Stone was denied consecutive clean sheets as Notts County failed to clear their lines inside their own area and Sotona scored a last-gasp consolation goal.

<p>
	Notts County secured a valuable point on their travels to Morecambe on Tuesday evening, with the match ending in a goalless draw. Despite consistent pressure from Notts County, neither side was able to break the deadlock, with Jodi Jones coming closest when he hit the bar early in the second half.
</p>

<p>
	On a beautiful evening on the Lancastrian coast, Notts County manager Luke Williams made three changes to the starting line-up that had triumphed over Grimsby at Meadow Lane on Saturday. Jim O’Brien, Aiden Baldwin, and Adam Chicksen were all brought into the team.
</p>

<p>
	Notts County made an impressive start, showcasing their ability to control the game and assert their dominance in the early stages. They tactfully managed possession and effortlessly dictated the proceedings, all while expertly navigating the challenge of the low sun beaming down on the Halo Terrace. The away support was vocal in their backing of the team.
</p>

<p>
	However, it was Morecambe who had the first half-chance of the game in the ninth minute. The ball broke for Adam Mayor, who drove forward, but Chicksen was able to diffuse the danger with some fine covering work.
</p>

<p>
	Five minutes later, Notts County had their first sight of goal. Baldwin played an excellent pass to send Aaron Nemane away down the right-hand side. Nemane’s low cross found David McGoldrick on the penalty spot, but his left-footed effort flew just wide.
</p>

<p>
	Notts County then experienced an impressive period of continuous pressure, with an increase in scoring opportunities. Matt Palmer found Nemane with a pass in behind his opposing full back and the winger’s dinked cross found Jones at the back post. Jones met the ball neatly on the volley, and it hammered against the bar - as close as Notts County would come.
</p>

<p>
	After much patient play, Nemane skilfully set up O'Brien for a powerful shot that was brilliantly blocked, resulting in a corner kick. Jones delivered an outstanding cross which Senior quickly cleared with a perfect header merely six yards away from the goal.
</p>

<p>
	Dan Crowley carved out the next chance, burrowing through three challenges on the right wing and lofting a smart ball into Macaulay Langstaff. Langstaff was thwarted by the onrushing Stuart Moore from the Morecambe net.
</p>

<p>
	Morecambe still posed a threat on the break and came very close to opening the scoring in the 70th minute. Mellon twisted and turned in the box before firing right across goal, just inches wide.
</p>

<p>
	The game became more end-to-end as it drew to a conclusion, but neither side was able to carve open clear chances. Four substitutions from Williams were not enough to help Notts County break down the Morecambe defence and, in the end, Notts County were left defending a Morecambe corner right at the death.
</p>

<p>
	Shortly after the ball was cleared away, the final whistle blew to signal the end of a tough encounter at Mazuma Stadium.

<p>
	Notts County secured their first victory of the new League Two campaign with a thrilling comeback against Grimsby Town at Meadow Lane.
</p>

<p>
	The home side twice came from behind to claim all three points in a match that had plenty of drama and excitement. Grimsby Town started the game brightly and took the lead in the 17th minute when Danny Rose capitalised on a poor back pass from Aaron Nemane to Connell Rawlinson.
</p>

<p>
	However, Notts County showed great resilience and managed to equalise through John Bostock, who chested down the ball inside the area before volleying it past Mariners keeper Jake Eastwood.
</p>

<p>
	In first-half stoppage time, Bostock almost doubled his tally, but it was Harry Clifton who managed to beat the offside trap and restore Grimsby's lead just before the break.
</p>

<p>
	The second half started with Notts County once again on the front foot, and they were rewarded for their efforts when Jodi Jones' deflected cross looped over Eastwood to level the scores for the second time.
</p>

<p>
	The comeback was complete just after the hour mark when Jones turned provider, picking out Dan Crowley at the back post to head home and give Notts County the lead for the first time in the match. Grimsby Town pushed forward in search of an equaliser, but substitute Rekeil Pyke was unable to guide his header beyond County keeper Aidan Stone.
</p>

<p>
	This victory will give Notts County a huge boost of confidence as they look to build on this result and climb up the League Two table. Grimsby Town will need to start from scratch as they seek to recover from this loss.
</p>

<p>
	It was an entertaining match that had plenty of twists and turns, and both sets of fans will have left Meadow Lane feeling that they had witnessed a great game of football.

<p>
	Notts County reclaimed their status as the ‘world’s oldest football league club’ after beating Chesterfield on penalties in an astonishing National League promotion final at Wembley.
</p>

<p>
	Substitute goalkeeper Archie Mair saved spot-kicks from Darren Oldaker and Jeff King before Cedwyn Scott sealed a dramatic 4-3 shoot-out triumph. Victory for the 161-year-old Magpies ended their four-year non-league exile while defeat consigned Chesterfield to a sixth season in the National League.
</p>

<p>
	Chesterfield took the lead early on when Andrew Dallas put them ahead from the spot after a calamitous start from Notts goalkeeper Sam Slocombe.
</p>

<p>
	Notts veteran John Bostock caught Chesterfield goalkeeper Ross Fitzsimons out with a set-piece that skipped in at the near post to level the score.
</p>

<p>
	Armando Dobra restored Chesterfield’s lead in the first period of extra time, but Ruben Rodrigues bounced a volley off the turf and over Fitzsimons to level at 2-2 in the second half of extra time, ensuring the showdown would be decided from the spot.
</p>

<p>
	After four years and three failed play-off attempts, Notts finally secured their English Football League (EFL) return at the end of a record-breaking season.
</p>

<p>
	Luke Williams’ side were pipped for automatic promotion and the title by Hollywood-funded Wrexham, who topped the table with an all-time high 111 points. The 107 points the Magpies collected to finish second would have got them straight up as champions in every other season before this one.
</p>

<p>
	Chesterfield finished one spot below Notts in the table, but the gap between the two was 23 points. They pushed Notts to their limits at Wembley in an incredible energy-sapping game.
</p>

<p>
	On-loan keeper Mair played an instrumental role off the bench with his penalty saves and Scott kept his cool to secure victory.

<p>
	Notts County made an incredible comeback from two goals down to win 3-2 against Boreham Wood in the National League play-off. In the 38th minute, George Broadbent stunned the crowd with a goal, giving the visitors an unexpected lead.
</p>

<p>
	Just before half-time, Lee Ndlovu capitalised on some careless play by the home team and scored another goal, extending their advantage to a comfortable margin.
</p>

<p>
	Notts County scored a goal immediately after half-time when Aden Baldwin found himself in an open space 25 yards away from the goal. He let fly and fired past Joe McDonnell to make it 2-1. The Magpies had a chance to equalise from the spot after Ruben Rodrigues was brought down inside the area.
</p>

<p>
	He stepped up but saw his penalty kick palmed away by McDonnell as Boreham Wood hung onto their lead. After a persistent effort, the team's hard work finally paid off in the last few minutes of stoppage time.
</p>

<p>
	Jones delivered an impressive cross that Baldwin artfully buried in the back of the net, sealing his second goal of the game and propelling the match into a thrilling extra-time.
</p>

<p>
	With penalties looming, Jones took a chance and sent a rocket from long-range towards the goal. Although McDonnell had possession of it, he was unable to prevent County from winning, resulting in a triumphant comeback that secured their place at Wembley.
</p>

<p>
	Notts County will now play in the promotion final at Wembley. This was an incredible comeback for Notts County and a testament to their determination and resilience. The fans were ecstatic and the atmosphere at the stadium was electric. This win brings Notts County one step closer to returning to the English Football League after a four-year absence.

<p>
	Jim O’Brien scored a hat-trick in a thrilling win against Maidstone in the final away match of the season. However, Wrexham secured the title with a 3-1 win over Boreham Wood.
</p>

<p>
	O’Brien and Cedwyn Scott put the team ahead before Maidstone scored two quick goals. Ruben Rodrigues won and scored a free-kick before O’Brien completed his hat-trick.
</p>

<p>
	Manager Luke Williams made several changes to his team. Archie Mair started in goal instead of Sam Slocombe.
</p>

<p>
	Connell Rawlinson was left out of the defence, and Aden Baldwin and Kyle Cameron formed a back three with Richard Brindley. Frank Vincent replaced Adam Chicksen at left wing-back, and Jodi Jones took the opposite slot over Aaron Nemane.
</p>

<p>
	O’Brien played in midfield, while Rodrigues and Sam Austin were slightly ahead of him. Scott was given the nod up front over Junior Morias.
</p>

<p>
	Scott opened the scoring after five minutes, with O’Brien adding a second ten minutes later. Maidstone struggled to contain Jones, who set up several chances for the team.
</p>

<p>
	In the second half, O’Brien extended the lead before Maidstone scored two goals in quick succession. Rodrigues scored a free-kick to make it 4-2 before setting up O’Brien for his hat-trick.
</p>

<p>
	Although Maidstone had a chance to score again, Mair made an excellent save to secure the win.

<p>
	Notts County kept up the pressure on National League leaders Wrexham by beating Woking at Meadow Lane. Sam Austin scored twice and assisted another as Notts County secured an excellent victory over fourth-place Woking.
</p>

<p>
	The win moves Notts County one point behind first-place Wrexham, who play their game in hand on Tuesday.
</p>

<p>
	Notts County made three changes to the side that lost to Wrexham. Aden Baldwin replaced Geraldo Bajrami in defence, Jodi Jones replaced Aaron Nemane and Sam Austin came in for Jim O’Brien.
</p>

<p>
	Junior Morias was named in the match day squad for the first time. After a first half of few clear-cut chances, Notts County turned up the pressure in the second half.
</p>

<p>
	Austin brilliantly dispatched Palmer's low cross to open the scoring. He then turned provider, playing a delicious cross into the area which Nemane directed goalwards with an acrobatic effort inside the six-yard box.
</p>

<p>
	It was half saved by the keeper, but the ball ricocheted off the sub and into the net.
</p>

<p>
	Scott then played the perfect through ball for Austin to scamper into the area and apply the coolest of finishes for Notts County's third goal.
</p>

<p>
	Slocombe saved from Rhys Browne as Woking tried to find a way back into the match, but Notts County remained relentless.
</p>

<p>
	Palmer controlled the ball superbly 25 yards out before curling an effort just wide. On the stroke of full-time, Palmer had another chance to score, but his shot was saved.
</p>

<p>
	Morias, who had replaced Langstaff earlier in the half, controlled a looping ball on his thigh, but his powerfully-struck half-volley was well-kept out by the Cards’ keeper.

<p>
	In a high-stakes encounter between two National League heavyweights, Notts County took an early lead through a brilliant John Bostock free-kick, but Wrexham quickly responded as Paul Mullin muscled his way onto a cross to equalise and then set up Jacob Mendy for the home side's second goal.
</p>

<p>
	However, Kyle Cameron headed County level, and Elliot Lee restored Wrexham's lead with a close-range finish after another assist from Mullin.
</p>

<p>
	In a dramatic finish, Wrexham goalkeeper Ben Foster saved a penalty from Cedwyn Scott to secure a vital win for the Dragons.
</p>

<p>
	Before the match, both teams had amassed 100 points and 106 goals, with Notts County's Macaulay Langstaff breaking a National League and club record with 41 goals over the season, while Mullin led Wrexham's scoring with 34 goals.
</p>

<p>
	Despite County manager Luke Williams suggesting that the title race was "over" in late March, the win allowed Wrexham to regain top spot and maintain their advantage with a game in hand.
</p>

<p>
	The match was a cagey affair in the first half, but the tempo picked up in the second half as both teams fought for the win.
</p>

<p>
	Mullin was a constant threat for Wrexham, muscling past defenders and providing key assists, while Cameron and Bostock were among the standout performers for Notts County.
</p>

<p>
	In the end, Wrexham's sharpness in front of goal proved decisive, as they clinched a crucial win to boost their promotion hopes.

<p>
	Notts County have claimed the top spot in the National League from Wrexham, following their 3-0 triumph over Wealdstone, in which Macaulay Langstaff set a new goalscoring record.
</p>

<p>
	Langstaff, who scored his 41st goal of the season, broke the record for the most goals in a single campaign since the league was rebranded in 2015. County have now amassed 100 points this season with four games still remaining.
</p>

<p>
	The Magpies' fortunes improved further upon learning of Wrexham's 3-1 loss to Halifax. Despite having played one more game than Wrexham, County leads the table on goal difference, ahead of the two teams' upcoming encounter in Wales on Monday.
</p>

<p>
	County took an early lead against mid-table Wealdstone when Sam Austin curled the ball into the net off the far post in the eighth minute, after Langstaff had capitalized on a defensive error.
</p>

<p>
	Langstaff then broke the record in the 60th minute, when he seized on goalkeeper Archie Mair's clearance and scored his landmark goal.
</p>

<p>
	Francis Vincent added a third for the home side in the 76th minute, securing the win and establishing a three-goal advantage over Wrexham.
</p>

<p>
	Notts County had a successful day, claiming top spot in the league while showing their ability to dominate and score.

<p>
	Notts County returned to winning form with a commanding victory over Scunthorpe in the National League, with Macaulay Langstaff scoring twice in the match.
</p>

<p>
	The Magpies started strongly, with Adam Chicksen scoring in the eighth minute after a well-placed cross from Ruben Rodrigues. Just three minutes later, Scunthorpe suffered a setback when Ben Richards-Everton scored an own goal, giving Notts County a 2-0 lead.
</p>

<p>
	Langstaff's first goal came in the second half, with a powerful header from a cross by Sam Austin, bringing the score to 3-0 in favour of Notts County. He then added to his tally with a stunning goal in the 76th minute, taking his goal tally to 39 for the season, which equals the club record for most goals scored in a season.
</p>

<p>
	This victory was crucial for Notts County's promotion ambitions, as they bounced back from their draw against Barnet last weekend, reducing the gap between them and league leaders Wrexham to just three points.
</p>

<p>
	The win was also a milestone for Notts County, as it marked their 101st league goal of the season. With this win, the Magpies will be looking to build momentum and secure their promotion to the Football League.
