Notts County midfielder Andy Kellett has praised the fact that nobody can "come off the gas" at Meadow Lane due to competition for places in the squad.
The summer signing from Wigan Athletic missed the season-opening stalemate with Colchester United due to injury.
Although Kellett is hoping to be fit for Saturday’s trip to Cambridge United, he is not expecting to be simply drafted into the starting XI.
“The competition for places is very good because there are players in a number of positions," Kellett told the Nottingham Post.
“It’s hard for everybody to know if they are going to be picked or not.
“Where I’ve been previously you know you are getting in the team and you come off the gas a bit.
“But here at Notts, you’ve always got to be on top of it.”
