Lunch.

Notts are 67 for 6.

It has been a very tricky session for the Nottinghamshire batters after Hampshire put them into bat this morning. The the ball has been moving around off the pitch and also in the air. It has been a very good toss to win

Conditions should get better for batting in the afternoon as the ball gets older & the pitch drys out. Notts need to try to dig in and make some sort of recovery in the afternoon session if they can.

Tea.

A much better performance by Nottinghamshire between lunch and tea. Notts 134 for 7 with a fighting unbeaten 52 by James keeping the innings together. The ball is still moving around & there is some variable bounce too.

Stumps on the first day

Notts finish on 212 for 9 after being 50 for 6 just before lunch. It has been a really good fightback by Notts thanks to an unbeaten 92 by Lyndon James.

On a testing day for batting, where the ball has moved about from the pitch and through the air, Notts can be very pleased with their days work after such a poor start.

This score by Notts could prove to be a reasonable score on this wicket, and the Notts bowlers will be looking forward to a bowl when their turn comes sometime tomorrow.

Lunch

Hampshire are 61 for 3 with Stone taking 2 wickets & Patterson 1.

The pitch is still giving encouragement to the bowlers and Notts have fought back in the session before Lunch. Should be a fascinating afternoon of play.

After day two Notts finish the day on 33 for 1 in their 2nd innings & trail Hampshire by 8 runs.

It has been an interesting day's play with Notts finishing on 235 in their first innings with James finishing on 106 not out.

Hampshire replied with 276 all out with Stone taking 4 for 62, & Pennington 3 for 70, the pick of the Notts bowlers.

Notts will be looking to bat all day tomorrow and build a potential match winning lead. Hi

Notts lost 3 quick wickets after  the start of play, but Clarke & Haynes have led a fightback by Notts, & at lunch Notts are 126 for 4 & lead by 85 runs.

Tea

Notts all out for 209 leaving Hampshire to get 169 for Victory. 50s for Clarke and Haynes the only positive in a lackluster batting display by Notts today. At least they have given themselves a total to bowl at.

Stone & Pennington need to take some quick wickets when the Hampshire innings begins after tea, to put some pressure on Hants batsmen.

At the end of the third day Notts are still very much in this match having taken 5 Hampshire wickets.

Hampshire are on 84 for 5 wanting another 85 to win tomorrow.

Tom Prest is not expected to bat due to an injured shoulder, so Notts effectively need 4 more wickets to win

Fourth days play scheduled to start at 11 am. Can Notts get their second win of the season.

The match is delicately poised with Hampshire requiring 85 runs & Notts 5 wickets, although it could be just four because a Hampshire batsman is injured.

Hampshire finish on 171 for 5.
