Sad news from Scotland. Inverness Caledonian Thistle have been deducted 15 points after going into adminstration.

I Still Don't See The Point Of This. Cally are in Enough Trouble, so the Scottish FA Pour on More Agony, by Docking them 15 Points. Which will Probably See them Relegated. How is this Going to Help their Cause towards Finding A New Owner? Who if one comes Forward has to sort out their Financial Troubles, but Now has a 15 Point Deduction to Contend With. Surely there Must be other Ways to Punish the Club, like Not being allowed to sign players during the next Transfer Window or some such.

Swift justice for everyone except one club that plays in Manchester.

@Wheelbarrow repair man well they don't, & I just don't see why the  players & fans have to be punished with a fifteen point deduction.

Like you said they should have had a transfer embargo put on them & that would have been enough punishment.

If they are going into administration the owner no longer has control, it's the administrators who will be running the club & looking for a new owner.

Going into administration and being docked 15 points is fair. Each division in the League should be a level playing field. If you overspend in trying to "buy" better players, and you come unstuck, then it is right that points are deducted.

I think fans across the Country will agree that the FFP rules favour the big clubs like the top six in England & the top two in Scotland.

If you have a turnover of  £Billions, it's going to follow that a team with so much finance is going to cream off all the best players without getting into financial problems.

There has to be a cap on the amount of money a club can spend on players, as well as a wage cap, & a cap on the number of the most expensive players a team can have in their squad.

There has to be a system in place that prevents the big clubs dominating the leagues & cup competitions year after year.

If these top coaches are as good as the media say they are, let them coach less expensive players into World beaters.

How is it Fair that there is a possibility that the Club could end up going out of Existence ? When that Club could play an important part in that Particular Community? Surely it would be better for the Scottish FA to Draw up a Financial Plan to help the Club, a  Plan which must be followed by the Club to get them back on an Even Financial Keel? Much Better than Putting More Pressure on them, with a Big Points Deduction?

Also think on this What Would Have Happened To Notts If The Reedtz Brothers hadn't have Stepped in, after the Alan Hardy Mess at the Lane? You'd be Quite Happy for the Magpies to Drop Down several Leagues or go out of Existence, and have to Come Back as some New Club with a Slightly Different Name, such has Notts Magpies F.C?

@Wheelbarrow repair manThere is a big difference as regards going into administration and going into liquidation. Again, I say how is it fair to the other clubs that one club have paid to buy success, when it was financially unsustainable.

That's why I support an independent football regulator. Clubs need to report their finances regularly to help avoid this happening

I don't think an independent football regulator will do anything to reduce the disparity between the rich clubs & the rest.

There needs to be a cap on spending & a system in place to stop the rich clubs buying all the best talent, whether it be from the UK or abroad.

But @Robbie you think the Premier League will police itself? No, it needs an independent football regulator to police the beautiful game. The Premier League seemingly have the FA in its pocket

If the rules are in place that I mentioned, an independent regulator could ensure that those rules are adhered to. I wouldn't have a problem with that.

If the rules remain as they are now, which favour the rich clubs, an independent regulator would be useless, because it would only ensure the status quo as of now.

And I & lots of supporters wouldn't find that acceptable. Also clubs need to give the fans more of a say on how clubs are run too.

I just think there needs to be a fundamental change in how the game is run, & the financial rules that all clubs have to adhere to.

Don't you think going into Administration is the First Step On The Road Towards Liquidation? And as I've said the Scottish FA Could have introduced other Measures to Punish the Club, rather than handing them a 15 point Deduction. Surely the Scottish Authorities should be trying to Help Cally  instead of throwing Up more Hurdles for them to get over?

You also state the Club, Paid to buy Success when it's Financially Unsustainable. At the time the owners made their Decision I would think that they Didn't think their Plan was Financially Unsustainable and you can't tell me other clubs wouldn't have made the same Decision, to Buy Success if they had the Financial Backing.  Cally owners took a Gamble, which didn't pay off, they're Not the First nor will be they be the Last Owners to take Such a Gamble.

An Independent Football Regulator has been mooted about for a Time Now, where are they? Who will appoint them? The Government? What sort of Powers will they have? It could it be that the Premier League Doesn't  Want An Independent Football Regulator? Of course the Premier League is a Law unto it's self. Well the Rich Clubs Are.

It's as @Robbie says Rules need to be in Place, Written Down to Stop the Big Rich Clubs from taking all the Cream from TV Deals etc Both Transfer Fees and Wages need to Be Capped, plus the Amount of Foreign Players and Coaches being allowed to ply their Trade in English Football, to the Cost of English Playing and Coaching Talent. If Cally (or any Club for that matter) had been given a Budget they had to Stick to they wouldn't have found themselves in the Current Financial Mess.

I respect the financial rules. Yes, if after the Alan Hardy mess, the club could well have gone into administration and had points deducted. I would not have liked it but if it could have saved the club from liquidation, then so be it.

The Munto saga was the far biggest risk to Notts County. The legacy of "football related debt" was expertly handled by the Trews. Ray had also mulled about administration then but chose not to go down that path
