The experienced striker, 34, arrived at Meadow Lane on loan transfer deadline day from Championship Watford.

Iwelumo started all five of the Magpies’ league games during his stay but has now returned to his parent club, following the expiration of his loan deal on New Year’s Day.

The club would like to thank Chris for his efforts in the black and white stripes.

I sort of expected it, after the thoughts I had read on his performance levels.

Looked useful in the opening game and played okay in others I had seen but this leaves us with a chance to hopefully find someone who might be able to play more of a role. I still think we need a striker, maybe someone who's young and hungry, that Tyrell Waite could be an option but I think he's out on loan. Chris will probably end going back on loan I suspect, just hope he doesn't find his feet against us. Goodluck to him!

Expected that, he played well to start with but didn't really help us in his last few games. His impact wasn't as large as I had hoped/expected. Never mind, a bit more money in the wage pot!
