  1. The second half was masterfully played, as we not only managed to take the lead but extended it and shut down any hopes for Crawley to retaliate. Jim O'Brien's goal which took the lead and Junior Morias' goal for the security rightfully earned us the victory. This all-out team effort makes me think that there's so much more to come from this squad.
  2. Well, reading this analysis has resonated with my thoughts about Notts of late. The decline has been steadily becoming apparent, and it's not just down to a lack of inspiration. Sure, a creative spark can be the difference between a win and a loss, but when that spark is consistently absent, it begs the question, is there enough desire in the team to win away from home? Wimbledon wasn't the first time Notts County's performance felt lacklustre - it's been a recurring theme. Perhaps it's time to identify and instigate some radical changes to enable us to secure our strong start.
  3. Hats off for the brilliant first half. Keep that momentum going Notts. Despite the final 45 minutes not being the worst, there’s no denying that some work needs to be done. However, it’s important to remember that the game could have taken a different turn if one of those chances had found the back of the net.
  4. Every game in football carries its own weight and implications, but the 5000th game is undeniably a matter of pride and emblematic of endurance. Notts has shown commendable consistency from the starting whistle of their journey all the way to their landmark game. Tomorrow's showdown, beyond the points at stake, is an opportunity to celebrate the spirit of football in its purest form. Between the lines of strategy, team composition, temporary injury issues, and rivalry is the underlying factor that everyone should appreciate: quintessential endurance. In line with this, I am hopeful that our boys will show grit and courage on the pitch, making us even prouder. May the atmosphere echo our unified support for them!
  5. McGoldrick’s return to Meadow Lane has revitalised the club. His palpable enthusiasm carries the hopes of both the team and supporters each time he steps onto the pitch. His acknowledgement of fans as the ‘heartbeat of the club’ embodies the symbiosis between a football team and its supporters, capturing the true spirit of football. Despite tough losses, his level-headed approach focuses on improvement and preparation for upcoming challenges. This resilience instils hope in Notts County’s strong season and potential upsets against top-tier teams.
  6. I would argue that the pressure is off Notts as they head into the match. Given that they’re playing at home and have had remarkable support this season, the onus will be on FGR to navigate the game. Notts merely needs to kick off the match as strongly as possible. With our midfield’s ability to retain possession and apply pressure, I believe that scoring an early goal would enable us to ease into the game, forcing them to open up. I trust they’ll arrive eager to prove a point.
  7. Love the optimism and resilience in Williams' words. Indeed, football is about unity and working together as one team.
  8. Predicting the outcome of this match is challenging, as both teams have been performing well. Notts hasn’t yet faced a tough game like this one away from Meadow Lane. All our home games have posed interesting challenges, although we’ve had a somewhat easier time and mixed results on the road. Morecambe should have been defeated, and while we performed well against Doncaster, they were notably weak. I don’t anticipate a weak MK Dons team; I expect them to give their all against this Notts squad.
  9. Luke’s confident remarks truly represent the spirit of the Magpies! As we face MK Dons this weekend, it's reassuring to know our strengths are well recognised by our coach.
  10. Absolutely chuffed with this win. Stellar performance by the Magpies. Thoroughly deserved top spot!
  11. I must say, the vlog did an excellent job at encapsulating the energy and excitement of the match. The goals by Langstaff and Jones were a joy to watch. Particularly impressive was the team dynamic, which was visible throughout the game. Also, the crowd's support played a significant role in boosting the morale of the team, hence their dominance on the field. Can't wait to see how the squad performs in the upcoming matches!
  12. Williams' dedication is commendable. Fingers crossed Notts County makes it count against Doncaster!
  13. Nothing more exciting than seeing your team poised to take on a new season! Waiting to watch Junior Morias' comeback. And the focus Williams is putting on fatigue injuries is quite funny, but also encouraging. Here's to a successful season and making Notts County proud!
  14. Despite the inconsistent performance in this pre-season friendly, I think it's clear that we can't pass any final judgement on the squad quite yet. Pre-season is always a time of trial and error, and fine tuning is critical during these stages. Let's not forget about the pitch conditions, it unfortunately worked against our usual build-up style. The takeaways for me are that the team showed they can control periods of game and that we've got an impressive player in David McGoldrick.
  15. Truly, Ian left no stone unturned in his tenure at Notts County. Be it tackling opponents or tackling social issues, he put in his best. Enjoyed reading this, it's a stark reminder of the heroes in football that transcend the boundaries of the pitch.
  16. Agreed, Matty Palmer is a phenomenal midfielder. His contribution to the team is invaluable.
  17. Nemane's new contract is welcome news indeed. His contribution to the team's success in this record-breaking season has been nothing short of phenomenal. Hailed both by fans and pundits alike, the wing-back is paving a path to greatness by creating scoring opportunities while winning back possession consistently.
  18. Mick Vinter's physical attributes and goal-scoring instincts made him an imposing presence on the pitch. A classic center-forward!
  19. I think this is a very good capture for Notts. He looks to have the ability and sometimes players like this excel more in a good team. I think the signing has the potential to do extremely well, so it’s hard not to be impressed.
  20. He has everything that would make a great coach and potentially a manager one day. His fighting spirit and attitude are those of a winner. It’s been four and a half good years seeing O’Brien play for Notts. I’m also glad he’s continuing the journey we’re on together.
  21. McGoldrick’s debut for Notts County Football Club against Sheffield Wednesday at the tender age of 15 is certainly a remarkable achievement. It must have been an incredible experience for him to step onto the pitch and play alongside seasoned professionals at such a young age. It’s heartening to hear that McGoldrick remembers the players and staff who supported him during that time. The guidance and encouragement he received from those around him undoubtedly played a crucial role in his development as a player. It’s always wonderful to see young talent being nurtured and given the opportunity to shine.
  22. Jodi has been a revelation since joining us on loan. I’m sure he’ll continue to impress for Malta. He has adapted quickly and seamlessly to our style of play and culture. He has also added a new dimension to our attack with his pace and skill. He has exceeded all expectations and become a vital part of our team. I’m confident that he’ll show his class and potential for his country.
  23. The home games are the ones I am more bothered about; it will be good to get a large number of fans down for those games. Create a real atmosphere and show the players that Meadow Lane can be a ground worthy of hosting such teams.
  24. What an incredible journey these teams have had in the National League playoffs over the years! It’s truly remarkable to see the level of competition and determination displayed by these teams. Thank you, Simon Clark for writing this!
  25. I can't pretend to be someone who saw great things in him. He phased out of most games and very rarely showed his true potential.
