  1. But the Poles cracked the Enigma code first https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2022/dec/20/the-pole-who-first-cracked-the-enigma-code
  2. So passengers for Paris, Brussels and to a lesser extent Amsterdam would have to switch back to the airlines! The Channel Tunnel or more specifically Eurostar has delivered a faster city centre to city centre journey times, much more carbon efficient than the airlines!
  3. But @Robbie "huge white elephant"... it's basically in use 24/7 to cope with the demand of passengers and freight. In fact, many sea ferries have diverted to sail directly to Ireland since Brexit... really affecting employment in places like Holyhead and Fishguard. In recent years, never forget the compulsory redundancies of UK sea workers, as shipping companies on the North Sea /English channel routes switched to cheaper overseas labour. However, in nostalgia, I did like the hydrofoil on Dover / Ostende run and the hovercraft Ramsgate /Calais

  5. Would the lease commitments be on the training ground?
  6. I initially thought this was a thread on Galaxy chocolates
  7. Credit due, where credit is due @Chris and the whole PoN family @Dry Nelson Ray "And as much as it stings to admit it, PON is hands down the best football forum on the web." and I too value @Robbie content additions!
  8. Always good to see @Dry Nelson Ray back on this board. Perhaps he can update us on "or another way "We’re looking into an environmentally friendly coach too."... so Phil Parkinson's job is at risk!!! "
  9. I think the Prediction League ( though not a participant) shouldn't be in a Notts related sub thread. To me, it is more comfortable in the English Leagues or to have a unique setting of its own?
  10. Don't forget to file Wrexham AFC accounts @Dry Nelson Ray !!!
  11. @DangerousSausage "But it's also possible that some of it is for IB, and the rest is a sell-on fee for Cal Roberts?" I'm sure Aberdeen took a net loss on Cal Roberts, as sell on fees tend to be structured on the "profit" element of the sell on price. Look at Note #11, "Contingent Asset", a write down of £519,000 which I presume also relates in part (or in whole?) to Cal
  12. #waffle727 5/5 streak: 37 #wafflesilverteam wafflegame.net
  13. @OoooooTommy Think the bank heist has just increased with LW move to Swansea
  14. Contingent player sale income reduced by £519k ( may relate to sale of Cal Roberts, on sold by Aberdeen to Scunthorpe)???
  15. £2.8m annual loss £38k transfer fee receivable... IB????
