  1. i also remember watching a youtube video that asked interviewed clubs where they had appointed black managers, they always said they went for the best candidate. i remember there was an ex footballer from the 90s, i think it might have been trevor sinclair who was trying to make everything seem racial. though whoever it was said something that stuck with me, he basically said very few go into management or coaching due to their families lifestyle. Wanting to be close to family etc, that the Caribbean culture is to work hard and enjoy retirement. if you are good enough, good luck getting hired. just don't stop applying. if i was looking for a job tomorrow and had 50 rejects, i would not say they judged me based on my autism.
  2. everything about mark stallard is pure notts, the guys a living legend!
  3. chesterfield were a lot like boreham wood just a lot better, they have transformed into a decent team who looked good on the wembley pitch. i wished they would cut out the timewasting, the referee was smart to it but did not give any bookings. i also feel they were lucky to have 10 men come the end of the game. notts should have lumped the ball forward then tried to keep it on the ground with our midfield working hard to maintain the ball. instead of our defence being forced into mistakes and pressure due how chesterfield ran everything down. they did the pressure on notts for sure. i thought notts were better overall, if you count all the time they spent creating chances and were on top of the game. chesterfield just did better in the first half, but they did look good on goal after. notts looked a little lacking, i think macaulay langstaff should have tried to buy some more time when he had some of his chances instead of rushing his shot. its great to be promoted1 better to have seen it. very proud of the team.
  4. hes been class all season, since wrexham and some of the other teams he struggled but every player does. i thought he was at his best against chesterfield. he just needed a bit more support at times but thats not on him but others. chicksen will hopefully come back stronger having a break, hes worked hard!
  5. it really depends on who stays and who leaves due to their contract expiring. if ruben rodrigues stays, then i agree with @Chris. if he goes then i think that position needs strengthening but i would give sam austin the chance to start there more often.
  6. welcome to pon @Bee.
  7. i agree with all the points raised and made by chris, i thought notts did well. i heard comments from fans complaining about how poor the squad had been but if that was the case. chestefield struggled to put more than 2 past us, we worked hard to take the game to them and to pull back level twice.
  8. as always, @Chris you have captured the day from a fans perspective and have done the fanbase proud. well done mate.
  9. i hope the club can arrange something further themselves, we could do with another opening day where we can just have fun as a fan base. i am glad that fans managed to see the players come back and that they shared that moment. unfortunately i did not know and there will be others. nonetheless it is incredible for those that did manage to spend the time celebrating.
  10. i dont like when there is discrimination towards anybody, i think the football league would have more ex players if their profiles and careers warranted the chance. paul ince and sol campbell are two of the football leagues absolute worst, not because of the colour of their skin but because they are just clueless. it does not stop them from finding another club, they get appointed based on their playing days and name reputation. a few years ago, i watched a documentary about asain players and managers. they never said that the game was racist, they acknowledged that their background makes it harder to break into the game. i think it was set in bradford where at grass root level there are a lot of asian teams and managers. i do think some people are ethnic backgrounds are held back but i dont believe some people help themselves, i can name white english managers who this applies too.
  11. there was a moment after mair came on where his feet seemed to get stuck in the ground and he passed the ball, i think to rawlinson who rushed it out. i think its a common thing for keepers @Piethagoram. i think in time a younger keeper would thrive in this position and i hope that its tiernan brooks. as for the switch it was a great decision bring on mair for the pens, two keepers who each played their part in taking notts up.
  12. i have nothing but respect for ryan reynolds, i think hes been classy towards our club and is genuinely wishing us all the best.
  13. its just a message to manage their fans disappointment but they should be happy with the performance, they did well. it just was not their day when it cames to the pens.
  14. i’m grateful to have found the pride of nottingham community . as someone with autism, i struggled with social interactions growing up. but the people on this site, especially @GrannyPie, @super_ram, @Chris, @JoeNcfc and fraser, have encouraged me and helped me feel like i belong . joe and fraser have done so much for the facebook group and are great guys . even when i faced negativity on twitter, they supported me . my dad and uncle introduced me to notts county games and i’ve loved it ever since ️. attending wembley with two friends @CliftonMagpie@TheSkipper from pon was incredible . seeing @Dan taking pictures and all the notts fans was amazing . i got emotional during the game, especially when chesterfield led 2-1 . but chris’s passionate messages in the group helped me through it . when ruben scored, fans nearby hugged me and told me things would be okay . i’m proud and thankful that notts has touched me in such a positive way . i hope we as a fanbase experience more games like this and can make a difference .
  15. just class his comments, as i said elsewhere giving credit to neal ardley and ian burchnall says what a manager we have. he takes nothing for granted, keeps calm and understand what impacts a successful club. retaining him here will be massive, i hope he commits because we could progress further as a club together. i would hate to see him leave for reading and for him to end up like ian burchnall, i think hes more switched on and a lot more loyal than burchnall.
  16. i did not see it, so i am pleased someone recorded it. thank you @Piethagoram! does anyone know if it still happens, i am trying to trigger it.
  17. the morale in the camp and togetherness is by far the best i have seen watching notts. we have a squad to proud of and thats why i felt if the worse had happened we needed to embrace the squad just lift them. thankfully we dont but i think they are an incredible group of players.
  18. incredible, i never thought that i would get so emotional about a football game. i have fallen in love with this club and i felt that @GrannyPie, jason turner and colin slater were all present in spirit. seeing the players lift the trophy and winning on pens., it was hard not to get emotional. what a club we have!
  19. haha!! love it.
  20. it is an incredible to see how quickly the reedtz brothers put foundations, i thought luke williams showed class by giving credit to neal ardley and ian burchnall.
  21. archie mair's saves proved vital, i am pleased that he managed to get onto the pitch and experience the promoton. he ended up playing a far bigger role than he probably thought he would. as for cedwyn scott is was an incredible moment when he scored. he sealed the game and after he missed the wrexham game i feel he has every right to forget about that miss. i never personally blamed him.
  22. what a rollercoaster! the whole game felt tense but magical at the same time. i am very fortunate that @CliftonMagpie and @TheSkipper asked me to join them in travelling to the game. i enjoyed every minute with them and watching notts. i don't want to discredit chesterfield because they played well. their fans in the ground were also very lively. they got behind their players a little better than us and it was not due to leading the game. they just wanted it and showed it. our fans were incredible in spells but with the amount we took, everyone signing the same chant would be hard and we dont handle our emotions that well.
  23. remember the days when we would all want to hide of embarrassment when articles like this would be written? thanks to our owners, it very much reflecting on what they have delivered to the club, along with the coaching staff and players.
  24. its quite mad that after this season, how wrexham has gone from being rivals to showing us great sportsmanship. i wished if we had gone up automatically, our fans would have shown that class.
  25. 103 for me, @CliftonMagpie and @TheSkipper this will be the first game we have attended all together. catching the coach down.
