  1. I haven't seen it yet, but I will watch it soon and report back. Football documentaries tend to be really enjoyable, plus I do like Peter Crouch. You can tell that he got his humour as a coping mechanism. from people standing out for being tall etc as a child. He's just beyond the typical 'funny', he could make a good comedian in another life.
  2. Andrew Dallas looked nothing special, until he went on loan to Chesterfield. I remember being disappointed seeing him play for Weymouth and Sollihull Moors. I am not sure if Gillingham is the type of team that will get the best out of him.
  3. I noticed and fixed it after upgrading the site. If it hasn't fixed the issue for you, please let me know the browser version you use. Yes, I am sure there will be a CSS trick for this.
  4. When I was younger, I always heard my parents and grandparents speak of change. It wasn't until my 30s I really noticed that it was a negative thing. There used to be two shops, 5 minutes away from my parents house. One of them was your usual 'happy shopper'. The other was owned by an elderly couple, I think the bloke was called Reg. He was quite grumpy. I remember getting penny sweets from the shop and toys from the front window. It was nicely arranged but it was quite small. I think he died and it got sold. Attached to the same shop, there was a hairdresser behind that you entered from a side door. I used to get my trims from there, a funny story. My mum took me one time, she asked what I wanted to do, and my mum replied, 'the usual please, just take the sides down a bit and a little off the top." The hairdresser then replied, do you want this much off? Holding a comb and scissors. My mum replied, yes. She then started making a few cuts. Then I decided to shave all my hair off. I had the shortest crew cut possible. When my mum complained, the hairdresser said that we both had said "all off". I didn't, I know my mum didn't. I think he was starting to lose her mables, as she was quite older, but I got the blame for it.
  5. Nigel is a member, but he tends to be busy. He has written for PON too, in the past under his account. @Natty. See the above, @Fan of Big Tone suggested asking Nigel to come on board and he has helped in the past. I believe he goes to Nottingham Panthers games too, which takes a lot of dedication and time too.
  6. @magpiejue I didn't really like the shirt in your display picture. It grew on me, but I do like more traditional shirts. Like this. I do believe our away shirt will be blue this upcoming season, I think it will be a throwback design to the retro shirt that proved to be popular in the club shop.
  7. Chrome is my go-to browser, but I do use the others for finding skin issues when working on site(s). I don't have it synced with my phone, as I used to prefer FIreFox on mobile until they tried to be more Chrome looking. Then I gave up, switched to using Chrome and found it would always be pre-bundled in my phones as default so I never went back to FireFox.
  8. I would be surprised if there's a cult classic or major horror film from the 80s which I haven't seen. I really enjoy horror films, but like mentioned I do not like third person/camera style films. They tend to have actors who can't hold my attention, because they seem to be acting as annoying people. I like zombie films, but I do like other things like creatures, werewolves, vampires etc. Recent horror films (although it's very loosely horror IMO) Renfield is great. The Pope's Exorcist was enjoyable, although a little predictable and drawn out in parts. Cocaine Bear - Not remotely horror but falls within that enjoyable silly style story. Knock at the Cabin - another enjoyable film labelled as horror, but it's not. Smile - I thought it was a creepy enjoyable film, but it's a more supernatural thriller. The only film you didn't mention, @AmericanPie which I would have added was 'The Lost Boys'.
  9. There are rumours about him going to Crawley Town. It does seem to me that it's something which happened between Neal Ardley and Solihull Moors board, he doesn't seem the type to jump ship just because there's interest from higher up clubs. Exeter City are another team which has been reported as interested.
  10. @Blake I remember you joining. The newsletters have always been something I tried to commit to, as they are important, and I am glad you read them. If this is part of what made you return, it tells me to find more time for them which is in my plans. Welcome back!
  11. Very true, @Fan of Big Tone. I wished this was something I could have focused on years ago, but life is all about learning and those lessons we face are what determine who we are. I am thankful for those I have around me.
  12. I gave Jake a few of my old England shirts, they don't fit me any more, and he wanted to start collecting shirts. So, I thought it would be nice to hand them down to him because they're in very good condition. I used to get every new shirt, sometimes I would pick them up when on sale. I haven't really liked the look of the shirts for a while; they tend to be too flashy or modern for me. Also, even the sale price puts me off. I wouldn't mind the odd one if I liked the look but the shirts for haven't been great for years. There are a few exceptions, but most aren't my style.
  13. I remember some of the stores, I remember when where Tesco is in bulwell, each of the shops that were their before and how where Wilko's is, it used to be a CO-OP. Jolly Giant, Summerfields etc. Toys R Us was much better than other toy stores, The Entertainer isn't bad. I bet this is like memory lane for my dad, I'm surprised @Fan of Big Tone hasn't joined in.
  14. Before we changed to our corner sofa, we used to have sofa's and one of which was fully mine. I slept, ate, watched and had some many good times with it. On occasions one of my children would sit with me, but because Cheeky say on the other and due to it being bigger (it was for 3 people but 5 could easily sit on it with Elbow space), the kids would pile on that. Leaving me to my own sofa of paradise. These days, I'm lucky to get a seat. Ava takes the corner and sides of her and someone is always at the other end. I may get lucky, if Ellie isn't down but usually she does like laying next to Kate.
  15. Nobody has to have a cover image, likewise with avatars (display pictures). Members can keep the generic one if they prefer, profile wise fill in what you would like and follow the members who you enjoy reading their comments. Just have fun. We're a community, all of you matter, and we learn so much about the things you share. I encourage members to take a look at their profiles, but change and do what you wish. If anyone needs help, in regard to images - please ask. I will happily change, tweak, edit or provide things. Just say what you would like doing, either attach the image or PM (personal Message) me. I am happy to help.
  16. What did that poor chicken do to you, @Fan of Big Tone? West Park again for your 5k jog? @TheSkipper It sounds like you are going to have a nice cosy weekend, mate. Enjoy spending time with your folks because those are the times you make memories. I have no plans whatsoever, I have been trying to coax @cheeky~k8 into doing something as a family with the birthday money I got. I wasn't that bothered about it, but since @super_ram sent it over - I feel something for the family would be nice. I pitched a picnic at Wollaton or High Fields. I suggested going to the cinema, nope. Super is away for the weekend too, so it's doubtful I will get to see him. I'm glad he's getting out, but I will miss him. Sunday, I may talk Jake into going for a walk with me. I don't think my brother is very interested in walking together, partly due to the forecasts and maybe because he's just busy. I'm sure I'll find something productive to do.
  17. I'm not sharing this to say these are the types of saves to expect, but I remember seeing it a few days after the game and thinking how incredible the save was. I also wonder, if @Dan can share anything about Aidan Stone? The individual who claims they do not have any entitlements is reminiscent of Neil's father from The Inbetweeners or Catherine Tate's character Derek in terms of their sudden appearance and soft-spoken nature.
  18. I'm a bit torn, I know of him and I think the words used to describe him are quite complimentary. I feel sorry for Tiernan Brooks, because he will only improve with game time and, I hope this signing means that he will be loaned out to a team that will play him. As for Stone, I wish him well in settling in with the club.
  19. Could we have got a better draw for the first round? I am delighted with the prospect of taking on Lincoln City. I have read some tweets on Twitter, fan fans saying it's a good tie and some which suggest some of our fans are being mardy about the draw. I'm not sure who anyone would expect for the first round, but it's quite clearly a decent tie. Some will never be happy, but after last season you would think it would be less likely to cause a fuss.
  20. I voted for Will. He's the player out of the four that might have the least expectations but turn out to be a player like Sam Austin. My first choice, would be Jodi Jones, but I answered @Fan of Big Tone call and thought why not vote for Will Randall. I do think he will prove to be a great assist to the team.
  21. I was at the cemetery at Wilford when Kate told me that the fixtures had been released. I didn't look at them until I returned home, so I can't say I am too fussed or bothered about who we play. I think mentally football teams just need to prepare, what goes into the training and coaching beforehand are the important parts. If a team believes it can win, has the support of the fans then that is the main thing. Notts should feel quite capable of doing well regardless of who we play.
  22. I agree that to us, he seems to have been forgotten, but I don't think Luke Williams will have. Since there's been no out-goings except for Ruben Rodrigues, or much talk of others who are in contact leaving. It would suggest to me that Junior Morias still very much features in our plans. The depth of the squad is paramount; it will allow us to keep players fresh. I can't remember where, but I did read something that suggested Notts may change formation. It's quite likely that this might be a tactic within games. If Notts switches to two up front, before games, then this will leave options. I think it only seems he's been forgotten because he's featured once as a sub and that we haven't seen him aside from this. I think there's a scope for the club to do an interview with Luke Williams and Junior Morias to further talk about their plans.
  23. Hello, @NottsLoyal. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham. I hope you enjoy being a part of our Notts County community. It's great to have you here.
  24. I am not very much into cars, so but looking at the picture of the make and model it could be due to energy efficacy. Very nice car though! model. The fan that drove me and my sons down, her car wasn't charged any omission fees due to it being a hybrid.
  25. It's a good interview, some of it repeats what he said in Notts County's interview video, but it's always good to see a further insight into David McGoldrick's thoughts. I think it should put to rest any doubts as to why he's here, we know he's got the ability, and we just need to get the results on the pitch. Charlie did a very well with this.
