  1. Will the people who sit behind the goal be required to move again. If so, it would be good to change the ticket without a special journey.

    What lies ahead?

HH played his best football when he was along side Alan Sheehan, who talked to him told him where to go and was always available to receive the ball from him. I said at the time he left, we would not miss Sheehan the player, but would miss Sheehan the leader, and as yet no one has replaced him. Hollis is a stopper, and good at it, but we are asking him to be more, and that's were it comes unstuck. I think that giving him the captains arm band was an attempt to show that the manager had faith in him.
  3. Until we see the players come together and perform as a team in games that matter I will reserve judgment on how good a committee is but the Kop will soon tell if they get it wrong. As everything is to go to a committee will we need to start looking for emergency signings now, in order to get them by Christmas. Do the panel have the football knowledge to tell who is an asset to the squad, and who should hang up their boots. Are they in tune with Ricardo and what he requires to bring his plans together. Maybe we should have our own version of X factor on Notts TV. Let every one get to choose. 6, 60 or 6000 votes the only person that matters is the manager. I will ask what will happen if the side fails to jell, or we are "lumbered with players who have failed spectacularly". will the manager or the selectors get the boot...
  4. Florist fans are right to dream of repeating past glories, and they may feel that with the money they have had they should have done better. but if you aim for the stars you may get off the ground. Without the dream that someday Notts will find a manager to lead us to the promised land we may as well give up now. I don't go to a game hoping that I will be entertained by 2 sides playing good football, and at the end of the season we will be reasonably placed in the top half of the division. I want a team that believes it can do the impossible every week, and beat anyone who we play. Last season we let some of the best players go, brought in aging has beans and never looked like winning at home. Who in there right mind would want to go and watch what was served up then. They don't come to see me when I am bad!! we have an aging support base and we need to get younger people interested. The next generation of supporters will not want to watch a team that is happy to stay afloat. How can mid table in div 1 compete in the playground with Man U/ City, Chelski, and the arsenil etc. We need the dream, we need unrealistic expectations and we need a team that is aiming to fulfil them.
  5. Whilst I agree that we need to improve our home form, I am not sure we should focus upon it. We need to play well organised entertaining football, both home and away, and pick up points. I would love to see exciting attacking play but not if we lose. The standard and inconsistency of the officials can turn games into a lottery and a goal from a set piece counts just as well as a tippie tappy walk in. There are about 2000 die hard fans that will turn up every home match, and who, if given the opportunity, will make a lot of noise and create an intimidating atmosphere for the visiting side.. However our team needs to give them a reason to shout and look like it can win. Last season we rarely threatened to do so.
