  1. RICARDO MONIZ REMAINS HEAD COACH OF FC ZURICH FIRST TEAM, 24 May 2024,mfr FC Zurich is pleased to announce that current interim coach Ricardo Moniz has signed a two-year contract until 2026 with an option for a further year. The 59-year-old Dutchman has been in charge of the first team since mid-April and has led the city club into the European Cup thanks to three wins in the last four games. Ricardo Moniz joined FC Zurich in October 2023 and initially worked as Head of Player Development and as "Coach the Coaches". In January 2024, he took over the U21 team before taking over as interim head coach of the Super League team from Murat Ural and Umberto Romano in April. He has extensive international experience as a head coach and as a trainer in renowned academies such as PSV Eindhoven, Red Bull Salzburg and Hamburger SV. He has worked as a coach for Red Bull Salzburg and Ferencvaros Budapest, among others. He won the Austrian double with Salzburg in 2012. FCZ President Ancillo Canepa commented on the signing of the contract as follows: "We are of course extremely happy that Ricardo Moniz, such an experienced, committed and competent personality, will continue to look after our first team as head coach." FC Zurich looks forward to continuing its collaboration with Ricardo Moniz and wishes him good luck and success.
  2. Perhaps we let Luke go too cheaply!!!! Though I did see a figure of £750k banded about somewhere. Enough for a Nest?????
  3. This coming season, we need to aim for the top 3, then 4 years consolidation in EFL1 New toilets, decent electric hand driers, automatic self scan turnstiles...a bonus

  9. @Robbie What is needed is that the overseas tv rights monies have to be split down the pyramid. Currently, I believe, it's 100% to PL only. We need an EFL3 to recognise that NL is more or less full time pros now.. i.e. expand the 92
  10. @Robbie Sorry, it didn't work in Russia, so it wouldn't work in the PL. What happened in Russia, was wages for Russian born players rocketed.. but they were no where near where the foreign talent standard was. You fail to realise the cache of the PL, are the international television rights. Any restriction on international players, would significantly reduce PL television income streams
  11. @Robbie Russia tried the exact system you proposed some years back. It failed badly, both domestically and for the national team. The quality of their domestic league took a big tumble

  13. @Robbie "I would also put a cap on transfers and wages in all four leagues, as a fixed lump sum in each league, not an amount based on percentage of turnover, which unfairly benefits the rich Clubs." This fails to recognise that clubs competing in Europe, from other countries, may not be restricted like this Clubs being promoted to the PL, have to offer longer than 1 year playing contracts in order to compete. Relegation clauses in player contracts may be a deal breaker... so the existing PL clubs remain "safe" in the system

  15. So @Robbie, would you prefer that Rawlo stays? Warner was too similar to Macari... The most important positions to fill are the middle CB, a king pin of a player needed that is comfortable on the ball. Yes, ideally, a tall, physically strong, a leader. Secondly, another LCB to challenge Cameron
  16. I disagree @Robbieon Ben Tozer... we need a quick, versatile CB, comfortable on the ball. I don't think Ben matches that
