  1. I am hopeful Notts can put on a good show and performance, as a win would be a big boost. A similar squad to Tranmere, with Conor Grant maybe starting, could work. Meadow Lane has to be a fortress, especially with all the season ticket sales and expected crowds. Stuart Maynard might make some changes, but I hope Alex Bass is in and that the defence is as close to our opening fixture as possible.
  2. Great debut, very calm on the ball and eager to get involved. He did well defending and attacking. I think Jacob Bedeau could become the signing of the season. It’s early days, but I feel confident making this statement. I hope he continues as he started.
  3. I also wish them well with their new season. It would be nice to see them playing in the WSL or Championship.
  4. MK Dons appear to be the team to beat this season. They have joined signed Nemane from us, so with the addition of Sherring and Offord, their defensive woes from last year might be a thing of the past. Hendry's arrival up front is exciting; his ability to both score and link up play could be the final piece in their promotion puzzle. Williamson seems to have a clear vision and the talent to execute it. The combination of a robust defence, creative midfield, and lethal forwards makes them formidable. However, it all boils down to whether they have learnt from their previous shortcomings and can maintain consistency throughout the season. Intrigued to see how they fare!

  6. Fleetwood’s ability to recruit top-notch midfielders despite losing players to League 1 is commendable. Matty Virtue and Elliott Bonds should provide the strength needed in the middle of the park. It's no secret that good midfield control can often dictate the success of a team over the season. Chesterfield being bookies’ favourites is a bit surprising to me. While Madden and Dunkley are solid additions, I share the opinion that topping the table might be a stretch. A play-off spot seems more realistic given the current squad’s depth. Let's not forget the unpredictable nature of football; surprises can always happen.
  7. @Mark Holland, welcome to the Pride of Nottingham. It's nice to be say hello to you.
  8. Ian Marsden’s story is truly touching, highlighting the deep connection between football and life. His steadfast commitment to Notts County, even in the face of personal challenges, shows a resilience that resonates with many fans. His continued enjoyment of the game, particularly when he shares it with his daughter Paige, adds a heartfelt dimension to his story. Balancing his passion for football with family duties, especially during Wendy’s illness, emphasises the strength of the community and the comfort that football can bring.
  9. It’s great to hear positive feedback about Alex Kirk during his trial. I think having players who can cover multiple positions, like centre back and wing back, is a fantastic move. The versatility adds flexibility to our squad, allowing us to adapt to different tactical scenarios. Having come through Arsenal’s academy, he’s likely had good training and development, setting a solid foundation for his career. The real test will be how he adapts to our team dynamics and performs against tougher competition. If he continues to show promise, I believe he could be a valuable addition. It’s all about seeing if his initial performance can translate into consistent play. Our recruitment team has a good track record, so I trust their judgment.
  10. We’ve all had our share of frustrations with unwanted visitors. A simple notice on the door sounds like a great idea. We have to remember that not everyone knocking is ill-intentioned; some are just trying to earn a living. However, personal comfort and safety come first. These notices can help us find that balance.
  11. I think it’s brilliant that Jatta is hitting the ground running with Notts. Scoring two goals is a great start, even though it was just a friendly. Sometimes players need that initial confidence boost, and Jatta seems to have gotten it. What I find particularly encouraging is his ability to hold off defenders and maintain possession, as that’s crucial in tighter matches. Considering our past season and the need for a forward that can hold up the ball, Jatta could very well be our answer. Pairing him up with Cedwyn Scott might open up our attacking options.
  12. This wouldn’t have helped Derby at all. Is he a Derby supporter or just someone trying to stash his money away? I don’t know much about him, to be honest, but this news is surprising.
  13. They’re quite unique, aren’t they? I don’t need one, but they do look appealing. The feet seem a bit odd, but the rest is pretty cool. Has anyone bought one?
  14. Good luck to him. I haven’t seen much from the games I’ve watched, but spotting potential is something that requires a keen footballing eye.
  15. Now that it’s happened, it’s irrelevant. It was his decision, and Notts isn’t in a position to retain players who are unhappy. Once a player indicates that they’re considering or want to move on, the club can either offer a new deal and hope that makes a difference, or they can try to accommodate the player’s wishes and attempt to transfer them.
  16. Something’s got to give, but the new faces could be a boon. If Cole Palmer doesn’t make the team, I’d be gutted because he’s been exceptional every time he’s played.
  17. I concur with the views about Jude Bellingham needing to mature, but let’s be honest. Numerous players have committed acts that went unpunished. For instance, Emiliano Martínez, to my knowledge, wasn’t penalised for his foolish behaviour or antics. I don’t believe Bellingham should have done what he did, but banning him seems excessive. A fine or a one-game suspension would be more appropriate. Don’t deprive him entirely.
  18. The Nest was absolutely buzzing tonight! The response to England’s victory was fantastic. If you haven’t experienced it yet, I’d recommend giving it a go. While the price is on the higher side, it’s well worth it for an enjoyable evening.
  19. When players make the effort to pen a thoughtful farewell message, it certainly raises my opinion of them. Connell Rawlinson may not have always been the standout player, but I concur that his first two seasons were commendable. Even some of his brief appearances were impressive. I’m eager to see where his career takes him next.
  20. Reading Connell Rawlinson’s farewell, it's clear he poured his heart into every moment at Notts County. His journey from the National League to the EFL return is something we all cherish. Connell’s appreciation for the fans and heartfelt words resonate with every supporter. He didn’t just play; he connected deeply with the club and its community. His departure is emotional, but knowing he leaves as a fan shows his enduring bond with us. Wishing Connell nothing but success and happiness as he moves forward. Thank you for everything, Rawlo.
  21. I'm thrilled to hear Curtis Edwards is excited about joining Notts County. His extensive experience abroad and his understanding of football tactics make him a valuable asset. His preference for playing a deeper role will benefit our defensive line as well. I believe his ability to create chances from the back will enhance our attacking potential. It's also great to see his enthusiasm for starting the season right from day one. His dedication to the team and respect for the coaching staff are commendable. His presence on the pitch will surely inspire his teammates and fans. Looking forward to a season full of strategic play and exciting moments.
  22. Signing Curtis Edwards is a significant boost for Notts. His extensive experience in Scandinavian football, coupled with his performances in European competitions, makes him a highly valuable addition to our squad. The recruiting team has done an outstanding job in securing such a talent. Here's to an exciting season ahead with Curtis donning the black and white.
  23. Great read, but I think loan players are vital for our strategy, especially in the lower leagues where budgets are tight. Players like Grant and Yates brought a lot to the team, and without such loans, we might have struggled more. Yes, the departure of a key loan player can disrupt the team, but it’s a risk worth taking for the potential rewards. The key is choosing the right loan players and having a backup plan.

    Playoffs

It's not impossible, but currently, without substantial change, which appears beyond our reach, it might become overwhelming. We required better results before Stuart Maynard's arrival, and I don't blame Luke Williams either; it is what it is. Despite the circumstances, it has been a good season, so whatever occurs, we can be content that we didn't face struggles at the other end.
  25. I don't anticipate much happening this season, but we can assess our progress next season by comparing our results to those performing well. While we may see some areas of improvement, a significant boost might require new additions to the squad.
