Tennis. Brit Watch.
So Cam Norrie is the last Brit in the Singles draw. He plays 12th seed Ruud in the 3rd round. It will be a tough match for Cam as his recent form hasn't been good and he's already had two tough matches to contend with to get this far I believe the best chance for Brit success will come in the men's Doubles with Salisbury and Ram who won the title in 2020. Will continue to keep you up to date with Brit results.

Notts County’s Future Under New Head Coach Stuart Maynard
I'm really heartened by this appointment. Stuart is one of those Head Coaches that I believe is destined for big things in the game. He comes with an excellent CV with his success at Wealdstone. Notts have a head Coach that will continue with the footballing phylosophy that has served Notts so well and attracted plenty of plaudits from the Football community. I listened to his first interview as Notts Head Coach and he came across as a determined, confident & articulate young man. I believe Notts will be in good hands with Stuart & his Coaching team.

Maynard it is
I'd just like to say that I've listened to Stuart's first interview for Notts, he sounded a very confident, determined & articulate young man. I'm very impressed.
-
Maynard it is
I'm so pleased that Stuart has been appointed, so the vibes online turned out to be true. I believe the brothers have made an excellent appointment here. The players will be in great hands with Stuart, along with his team, Matt Saunders, Craig Saunders, and our own, João Alves. I'm very confident about our chances of making the playoffs now that our new Head Coach & his Team have been appointed. Onwards and upwards.

Tiernan Brooks joins Rochdale on loan
Good move for him. The main thing here he's going to get game time which is essential for a player to develop and improve. I do like the loan system. It has proved useful to many players who are not getting game time with their clubs. I wish him good luck at Rochdale

Jodi Jones: Supplier & Goal Scorer.
I agree @Chris Jodi is great going forward and I would want that to change, but as good as he is going forward he has not been good defensively, I think that's been the case with most of the team. I knew Head Coach will probably want to change that.

Colossus , the Bletchley Park computer
'Alan Turing invented a number of short cuts that made breaking it and re-breaking it when the settings changed every day possible. The Poles, who had the original Enigma machine, worked out how to break it. But as they left it, breaking one day’s code took weeks, by which time the information was too old to be worth much. What Turing and others did at Bletchley Park was work out how to speed up and automate that process so that more days than not they could break the code on the same day, allowing decrypts to be less than 24 hours old when sent to the relevant military handlers. Sometimes they didn’t manage it, and a whole day’s worth would not be decrypted'. (Source Google)

Jodi Jones: Supplier & Goal Scorer.
Jodi Jones has become a vital part of our attacking threat. How can we forget his assist and winning goal against Boreham Wood in the play off Semi-final. This season he has 21 goal contributions in 24 appearances. He's become a very valuable player for Notts. Enjoy them all.

PL Financial Fair Play Rules.
Due to the way the FFP rules are structured there are three leagues in one in the Premier League. There are also two leagues in one in the Championship. At this time League 1 and League 2 are still relatively fair to all clubs in those two leagues, but if what we have seen in the top two leagues is allowed to continue, the same thing will happen with the richer clubs always at the top and the others just making up the numbers in league 1 and 2. We have seen how Wrexham are benefitting from having rich owners. Some say that it would be impossible to introduce a turnover Cap, but I don't agree. A Sensible Cap for each league would benefit all the teams, not just a few with the present system. I also believe the Premier League should filter a lot more money down the Football pyramid than they currently do. We also need to make sure home grown players are developed to the full, and our national teams remain competitive and this means more home players in the Premier League. Clubs should be encouraged to play more home grown players.

Trains through the channel tunnel
Who's talking about airline travel to Europe @Piethagoram? I'm talking about Sea Ferries being the cornerstone of travel across the Channel and North Sea decades before the Channel Tunnel was built, and in my opinion there is still an important role to play for the Sea Ferries.
-
Wrexham flew their team to 16 NL games last season!
The only thing I would say about this Wrexham story is that again, it is symptomatic about the current problem in our domestic football, the haves' and the have nots' That's why there should be a Cap on turnover for each of the four top tier Leagues.
-
Trains through the channel tunnel
The Channel tunnel has reduced Ferry traffic and that in turn has lost jobs and that is a big regret. The loss of British Sea jobs to cheap overseas labour is for another Topic, as that development is not really directly connected to the channel tunnel. It's symptomatic with what has been happening in big swathes of our industry.
-
Colossus , the Bletchley Park computer
British ingenuity & inventiveness at its best. The codebreaking at Bletchley Park was arguably one of the top 3 reasons why Germany was defeated in World War 2 & we owe our freedom today to all those who worked at Bletchley Park.
-
Trains through the channel tunnel
The Eurotunnel was founded on a good principle to connect mainland Europe with the UK, but it has become a huge white elephant. When I've visited Europe, I've always used the Ferry system, and it's much more interesting and fun to cross by Sea Ferry The Sea Ferry system has always been the cornerstone of cross channel travel. We managed very well before the Euro tunnel and we would manage if it wasn't there.

Huge Ring of Galaxies Discovered
@Burnz3r0 It is very hard to imagine how immense the Universe is. The simplest way of describing how immense it is, is to compare the Earth to the size of an Atom and the Earth represents the size of the Universe. An Atom is too small to be seen even by the most powerful microscopes, so that miniscule size just puts things into context. By the way, the new discovery is truely awesome.
