Southend Utd survive High Court hearing
it dont look promising, i hope they manage to be saved. their owner has ran them into the ground. ????

Match Discussion: PSF - The Potters (H)
there was some good play in the first half, just not much. second half we did better but its a friendly at the end of the day. i think we could lose to real madrid and some would not be happy.

Notts County FC Academy Dan Leivers receives significant funding boost after promotion
i thought dan leivers had left? has he come back then? i dont know, maybe its someone else but i think we are going about things well in the academy department, just need to get them up to scratch with playing in the first team because youth players can become good backups. plus down the line important first team players.

The Making of Pride of Nottingham: An Interview with Chris Buckley
liampie commented on TheSkipper's blog entry in Black and White Memories: Nostalgia for Notts County Fans with TheSkipperchris puts no end of time and energy into doing something for others, he does not ask for the credit but he most certainly does not get it. very underappreciated by some parts of our fan base. this is a great blog, i really enjoyed it.

Macaulay Langstaff Sheds Light on Notts County’s Pre-Season Strategy
keeping macaulay langstaff and building the squad further, adding depth into those key areas where we could do with just a bit more quality should pay off. its great to read that the players are enjoying being back, training hard and working towards another good season. its a very exciting time for us notts fans and we need to enjoy it as much as possible.

Notts County Manager Luke Williams Discusses Pre-Season Injuries and Stoke City Friendly
i am not too concerned about the injuries, its pleasing to know jodi was not injured but was resting due to only just coming back. i think the squad is big enough that we can focus on getting them fit and ready before the season starts. hopefully, then we can try to keep the players fully fit as much as possible. i would not risk any against stoke but i do hope to see jr morias play at some point.

Match Discussion: PSF - The Potters (H)
we usually do stick with two teams, it seems a trend for pre season games but i do think games like this we should put out strongest players that are fit out. leave the alfreton and boston friendlies to tinker, use these higher standard friendlies as a means to get the squad somewhat settled. as if it was a league game and the others were the cup. whatever luke williams chooses i am sure he will have thought everything out.

Notts County’s First Five League Games: A Closer Look
i think its a good chance to build momentum like we did last season, in my personal opinion the bigger games are grimsby town and tranmere rovers but notts needs to treat them all the same. i think its also nice to get those two games out of the way nice and early, i think if we can build winning streaks like we did in the national league, confidence will grow. i am very much looking forward to the new season.

Macaulay Langstaff on Target in Notts County's Pre-Season Triumph
the way notts plays, any striker will get chances and i think macaulay langstaff benefits from this but hes still a superb finisher. im glad we have managed to keep him so far.

Notts County Manager Luke Williams Praises Team’s Performance in First Pre-Season Friendly
it was good to see how different both teams were setup, i think the first was a bit more defensive minded and the second had more attacking options. it was good to david mcgoldrick. jim o brien was superb. aidan stone looks like a good keeper to have between the sticks. i hope he plays against stoke.

Notts County’s Luke Williams on Building a Competitive Squad for League Two
when did we last have a squad like this? there are players who would make my starting 11, but others who could come in at any point. there are no players that have been signed who i dont think could start or be a key player. this is the first time in ages that i believe we have had so much depth in this area. luke williams is building well and i just appreciate his views on this. hes leading by example.

Notts County Fans Eager for Return to Football League
i cant wait, either. i think the back of the promotion at wembley and the recruitment again has played a big part in why i am looking forward to the season. i generally do, even when we have had bad seasons and poor owners, with those antics thankfully seeming like a thing of the past. gareth jones comment about the reedtz rings home, i am very thankful for their leadership.

Match Discussion: PSF - The Boro (A)
the score is unimportant, so i would like to just see the lads express themselves and treat the friendly for what it is. a good run out. naturally i hope they put on a good performance and if the sides are mixed, it should allow us to see which players do what. a very useful exercise for luke williams and the coaching team. i am interested who will start in rubens position.
-
Notts Alumni: Mick Vinter
he sounds like a great signing that helped us fight against the bigger clubs, he may have moved on but what he achieved at notts is everlasting as his contributions to all the teams he played for. rest in peace, mick vinter.

Luke Williams on new signings and departures at Notts County
losing ruben was a blow but i think dan crowley or david mcgoldrick will be good replacements. the new signings give us a lot of depth.
-
Aaron Nemane agrees to new two-year contract with Notts County
this is great news, we all know what aaron nemane brings to the squad and i think the new deal brings a lot of confidence. also, luke williams handling of this has been excellent.

IFAB Penalty Rule for Goalkeepers
i think at the end of the day, these changes take away some of the parts which gives a keeper some advantage over the penalty taker, i think there is room to do this but without being over the top. a goalkeeper should be able to touch the net, crossbar and posts. i dont see how this would greatly effect a penalty taker, i am sure it can be distracting but its not as controversial as walking up to the taker or slowly going into goal, then trying to buy some time in delaying it. if the keepers are having limitation applied, i would like to see more stricter rules on penalty takers. you arent supposed to be able to stop when taking the ball, yet some do when they slow do. this should not be allowed under the new rules. when notts played chesterfield, their first penalty taker acted like he was going somewhere else, then turned around and ran to the ball. this should not be allowed as it delays the keeper. basically, i just want to see a fair system for keeper and penalty taker. both of which should have some liberty with their decision before a pen is taken. if one cant, neither should the other.

Matty Palmer the beating heart of Notts County
matt palmer is brilliant, he works every part of the pitch and puts so much more effort into his performances. the graphic shows just how important he is to our squad, he's someone we cant drop.

Notts County Manager Luke Williams Discusses Pre-Season Preparations
he knows where we had to improve and has gone about signing good players to fill in those gaps, i think with the players going back to training it does show a lot of faith that hes open to discussing things so early.

Horror Films: from classic to modern
i love horror, i used to watch it with my dad. my mum has never liked horror films, its not the blood or gore but the darkness. shes easily creeped out, so i would watch them with my dad. after they split, i would have regular horror film nights with him. i remember when i was like 10, watching a film about new york i think, it had the underground in and there was murders happening. at the same time the lead character was exploring bugs and insects. there is this boy who plays spoons and i think he has learning problems as i can remember relating to his isolation. i cant remember what its called but it was a human like bug killing and eating people. it looked a bit like the jeeper, from jeepers creepers but a lot more mysterious. final destination, scary movie, i know what you did last summer all great classics.

Nigel Nattrass: A Life Shaped by Notts County
@Natty thank you for sharing your story with @Chris, i enjoyed this and thought it told a great story of your history supporting notts. the parts about your family and wife, it really made the story standout.

Notts County signs Port Vale goalkeeper Aidan Stone on a free transfer
it all reads very promising and i hope that he enjoys playing for notts when he gets the chance. i hope either he or brooks will start certain cup games as that could be a great way to see how they do.

Dan Crowley: Notts County’s Achievements and Style of Play a Winning Combination
its a good thing that he know john bostock, hopefully he will know other players and our style of play should continue to attract players who want to perform football the right way. no hoofing it 90% of the time or performing unconvincingly. what he says really does show that notts has transformed in the 4 years we have been owned by the reedtz. everyone at the club has done a magnificent job and i hope it continues to pay off.
