  1. we had a lot of rain and a thunder storm for about an hour. not much chance having a bbq where i was. it very stuffy and humid. did you manage to miss the rain?
  2. i dont buy drinks at games because the prices are so steep, its not reasonable what they ask for a soft drink in comparison to something alcoholic. its quite daylight robbery, as i have had drinks at smaller football grounds for a much fairer price. its like notts is the reason, squeezing more profits out of the fans pocket.
  3. welcome to pon, i am pleased to say hello to you @MagpieRob.
  4. it was a nice idea to feature some of the youth players, in fairness some of the senior ones made just as many mistakes and its because stoke were relentless with wanting to get the ball back. the quality of their play and the ability they had in stopping us from playing made it hard. from the moment the ball kicked off, it looked like it was going to be an up hill battle. i dont think anyone can be harsh of the players, because without this lesson it would be have been something we may have worked on from here in training. if luke williams focuses on our handling with pressure and defensive play, at least it should be corrected in time for the bigger games in the league.
  5. i used to buy them at every game until a few years ago, when it became like cheap card. i dont like the paper, i get its cost saving measure but other clubs still do them with the nicer quality and it makes seem good value. when i had the email about the club wanting fans thoughts if they should continue, i fully expected them just to scrap it to save costs and time.
  6. @JohnTheBost yes, he did. a lot of ex footballers do this and keep them going on the side of coaching for clubs. i wish jon stead all the best.
  7. welcome to pon @Paul Manterfield. i hope you like it here.
  8. hello, @stutheumpire1862. welcome to pon. if we need any officiating done, you will be the first person we ask.
  9. i thought dan leivers had left? has he come back then? i dont know, maybe its someone else but i think we are going about things well in the academy department, just need to get them up to scratch with playing in the first team because youth players can become good backups. plus down the line important first team players.
  10. anyone else having trouble reading this? ???? there are so many better reasons as to why chesterfield should focus on promotion, our fans is not one of them. he seems a bit of a ????.
  11. i like both shirts, but the away shirt so much nicer. @Chris said it would be blue all along. i am glad it is because i think look good in it. yes, but fans are less likely to complain if it stays within tradition for big seasons. our first season back in the football leagues shirt is important and i get why fans dont like the home shirt. i do, but thats my taste.
  12. its all really stupid, i am not sure what elon musk can do but he should focus on losing his existing user base by undoing much of his own damage.
  13. are you not going to the friendly game @Fan of Big Tone? i will be going to watch notts vs stoke, then going for a few drinks after the game. sunday, i will be spending time at my mums and probably doing more of my garden/tidying my home up.
  14. its glued to the game, i always think dogs like this get their interest from the owners and love to celebrate with them.
  15. chris puts no end of time and energy into doing something for others, he does not ask for the credit but he most certainly does not get it. very underappreciated by some parts of our fan base. this is a great blog, i really enjoyed it.
  16. keeping macaulay langstaff and building the squad further, adding depth into those key areas where we could do with just a bit more quality should pay off. its great to read that the players are enjoying being back, training hard and working towards another good season. its a very exciting time for us notts fans and we need to enjoy it as much as possible.
  17. i am not too concerned about the injuries, its pleasing to know jodi was not injured but was resting due to only just coming back. i think the squad is big enough that we can focus on getting them fit and ready before the season starts. hopefully, then we can try to keep the players fully fit as much as possible. i would not risk any against stoke but i do hope to see jr morias play at some point.
  18. we usually do stick with two teams, it seems a trend for pre season games but i do think games like this we should put out strongest players that are fit out. leave the alfreton and boston friendlies to tinker, use these higher standard friendlies as a means to get the squad somewhat settled. as if it was a league game and the others were the cup. whatever luke williams chooses i am sure he will have thought everything out.
  19. ????????????????nice of you super, i know how much Kate meant to granny pie but preserving her hearing is an incredibly kind gesture. stoke city, who? super ram 2-1. ????????????️???? @cheeky~k8 feel free to turn it off when @Chris is talking notts or rambling on. ????????
  20. Shola Ameobi i was praying nobody had said him because its the only one that came to mind, despite knowing quite a few of the earlier mentioned players.
  21. i thought most of the youth players put in a shift, one or two need to gain more experience its clear but they showed some great potential too. the wing backs and midfielder were great.
  22. the club seems to be going backwards, rather than forwards from their promotion to the football league. i think their owner is more like alan hardy, full of himself and makes decisions for his own gains and not the fans or club. both dont like "meat" in the public eye. ????
  23. i plan to see how it goes, i dont tweet much but if it turns out to be better i will use it.
  24. welcome to pon @rohan. its great to have you with us.
  25. welcome to pon @Michael D P, its nice to have you here.
