  1. his first time at southend i would be jumping to get him signed up but i dont think hes the type of player who performs good enough away from where he naturally belongs. i can see him as being okay for the first season but after wanting to leave. a few years ago maybe we would take a player like this and hope for the best, but i think we now know better. if he ends up at wrexham i think it will prove my point. they will spit him out the moment they feel they can do better.
  2. i thought it was destined to be a draw but when we score late in games, another tends to follow. maybe yeovil morale dropped enough to make the difference with bagging the other goals. maybe @GrannyPie gave them a whack with her walking sticks. i am just glad that we did not drop any points. hopefully on tuesday we can make it 7 wins in a row. wrexham are starting to leak goals left right and centre, so we have everything to play for.
  3. i dont think any comparisons should be made because each team had different circumstances for their success, i know what people are saying when they do but i suppose i cant due to the time i have followed notts. i have only seen little success on the pitch and very few good teams. i will say, unlike any other squad or time i have known that i believe notts can grow even more stronger if we continue the current level of hard work. this squad does not have to worry about missing out on promotion because for the first time in ages i think we will be able to compete with any side. i obviously want notts to go up, but if we miss out, knowing we can go ahead and fight to be champions makes it all the more special. besides mansfield had throw everything at the club in hope something would bring success, since day one in the national league we have built foundations and its those firm blocks that can lead to success.
  4. thank you for all the kindness you have shown me whilst i have been a member of this site, i cant believe you have gone and it feels like my heart has stopped. i cant stop thinking about all the times you have messaged me on here or on facebook asking if i am okay just because i have not been around or that you just wanted to chat. i will always be your friend. take care of yourself in heaven granny pie. i will be checking on super every chance i get to make sure hes coping. i would hate for super to no longer be around i dont think i could if that be the case. take care ann ♥🙏🏻🌹

@super_ram @Chris I'm so sorry for your loss. Grannypie always came across as a lovely person. It won't be the same without her.

@liampie, your words are truly touching. Granny Pie had a unique and special bond with you, and it's heartwarming to see the love and admiration you have for her. It's important to hold onto those precious memories and cherish the good times you shared together.

I'm sure Super Ram takes comfort in knowing how much Granny Pie meant to you, and to many others. It's a testament to the kind of person she was, and the positive impact she had on those around her.

Let's continue to honour and remember Granny Pie for the wonderful person she was, and support each other through this difficult time.

  5. under the floodlights again! night matches are great. i fully expect barnet to throw everything but the kitchen sink at notts. they will probably watched footage from previous games and i hope they dont throw bodies into the box like chesterfield did for their equaliser. i think we just need to frustrate them by retaining the ball.
  6. The best Notts County squad you have watched in person? the league two winning team, but this years squad is quite close. The best Notts County player you have ever watched in person? jack grealish when he was on loan. The best Notts County legend you wished you had seen? mick vinter because of the things i have heard of him. The best Notts County goalkeeper you have ever seen live? kasper hands down. i know he did a bicycle kick at morecombe but i swear he attempted one in front of the kop. The best Notts County defender in your lifetime? mike edwards for me too. The best skilled Notts County midfielder you have ever watched in person? between jack grealish and callum mcgregor, i think mcgregor was more skillful though during his spell here. The best Notts County winger who would take on the opposition down the byline in person? jcr fans moaned about him but he was pure class. jeff hughes also used to do well but he would go towards the 18 yard box more than stay out wide. The best natural Notts County finisher? lee hughes just clinical on goal. The best player to be described as a true underdog during their spell at Notts? the belgium midfielder we forced to play right back i forget his name. The best worst player ever to grace a Notts County shirt? ross fitzsimons The best goal from a Notts County player you have seen in person? one of enzios lightening boltz. The best ex Notts County player you have seen in person? unsure to be honest The best future Notts County player you have seen in person? possibky jodi jones.
  7. i bet they feel silly for postponing the game because of their injuries/suspensions and manager being side lined. it was never to do with the pitch in my opinion. if they have frost covers they did a lousy job of protecting it. it just makes this victory all that more sweeter. the players did well, i liked seeing them acknowledge the fans when we scored or needed their vocal support more. 12th man!
  8. that assist from super sam! what a long goal kick but even better controlled by langstaff.
  9. did anyone watch supernatural all the way through? is it worth going back to rewatch that if i can find the time.
  10. i would hate to feel the pressure leading into the game. it should be on chesterfield as they could be doing better themselves at times. its just with them being at home and our current form, i fear they might be the team to break it. i know fans will say this is a must win game but i would take the draw. i am hoping notts just works hard at creating chances.
  11. i dont have much time for tv, i mostly watch youtube and that is quite limited due to my workload. the new tv show for the last of us does have my attention though. has anyone seen netflixs wednesday? i have seen a couple of episodes of that and thought it was quite good.
  12. welcome to pon @SSTurtle28, you have an interesting username.
  13. i would like to see the edit and report button return it useful when posting off my phone. i like the advanced activity stream and the dashboard, but i do browse through pages anyway. i think those would be useful for members who have less time or just want to post quickly without surfing pon a lot. big shout out to @super_ram for helping pon out. thank you super.
  14. i spent christmas at my aunts and uncles for christmas dinner and most of the day, it was their turn to host it. i enjoyed joking with my uncle about how forest are doing and calling him a fair weather fan.
  15. every so often there will be a game like this where notts just did not click, sometimes we can be lucky enough to see the games through and take more than what we might deserve. i dont think the performance was terrible, i just feel we did not match boreham woods desire. i will take a draw over a defeat any day.
  16. 50/50, part of me thinks if he cant push forward and force himself into a promotion chasing side, it says a lot about him in a negative way. then i think hes young and just wants to improve, so no doubt he would want to move to a team that plays him. personally i think we offer more benefits even if hes on the bench. not many players his age feature in a season like ours, if he just found the form i think he would have been secured on the team sheet. if he dont want to be here, its best for us. we need fighters!
  17. vocal fans tend to be the most annoying, its the same with any team but with wrexhams dream takeover it will bring them out. i dont bother much with other clubs, i have no interest in them at all. i do think with some fans their dislike for wrexham is envy.
  18. matt palmer extending his stay is a positive bit of news, technically hes solid at this level and will only grow in his importance as we push to return to the football league.
  19. we need to start giving the young pros chance to develop into what we need, pleased for him but i suspect i will be disappointed by the end of the season,
  20. i am not sure we need another midfielder, i think we could have signed another strong cb to help tighten the defence up.
  21. last i knew i think he was playing at basford.
  22. i see another draw, because i think gateshead will want to take the game to us and with them being at home that should help. they have draw their opening games, so i dont think we should write them off, plus they lost their two main strikers and got good fees allegedly off us. that might want them to show that they can make the step up against one of the leagues better teams. if i was gateshead, i would push for corners and set pieces as we look no better than previous seasons. on the positive side we do attack quite well and that could lead to notts controlling the game.
  23. frustrating to lose the 2 additional points like that, but notts played well. both goals really should have been defended better, we are our own worst enemies when it comes to dealing with set pieces or pressure. i am happy with the point but do think defensively we need to be better, hope it comes with more games.
  24. when i watch games, which probably wont be many i will do so thinking about the lives that have been lost. and whilst the deaths should have been avoided, i think remembering this dark side of qatar is something we should all do. so many lifes effected by the decsion and work conditions.
  25. @Fozzy frank vincent can be a huge difference when he starts, but we need to play that quick flowing football which he thrives on.
