  1. why do i feel like this has a draw all over it? there is nothing wrong with drawing away from home, as i do think the majority of our points will come from making meadow lane a fortress. i just think its a good chance to improve our away form, but i can see it ending 1-1. think some of the players need a rest, like roberts.
  2. i like that hes 21, not too young but at the right age where he can come here and do a job for us. he will be wanting to play and gain experience, so i think its a great move by notts.
  3. i am wanting to see notts retain a clean sheet, even if its just in the first 45 minutes. this will breathe confidence in the back and take some of the stress of the creativity, the players should be able to express themselves a little more.
  4. i hope we hammer weymouth, they are a poor team that are there for us to defeat if we play well enough. they started off ok, but their last two games have shown that they are a poor team. i think they will struggle, so i hope chances come and our lads work them into making mistakes which will provide us with goals.
  5. these are the types of games that notts cant afford to lose or draw against, if we are going to build any momentum to carry us forward a win is a must. i think ib is right that aldershot will be wanting to improve. hes got a respectful approach to the opposition but i think if we cause them headaches goals will come.
  6. its a good point, i dont think the blame falls solely on slocombe but the defence too. i know hes a good keeper and things will improve, not sure if people are obsessed with brooks or just pointing the finger but nobody can single him out. notts played a completive game and gave a good account of themselves.
  7. will they want to make us pay for signing several of their players? its already a bit of a grudge match for both teams. i can see a desperate draw at 2-2, torquay scoring late on from a set piece.
  8. part of why i support notts, its always felt local and community based.
  9. he has potential, notts and ian burchnall does need to find a way to bring his game to where we can make the most of his ability. i do think lewis knight will do well this season.
  10. looks like a strong signing especially for the future, he could be the long term replacement for michael doyle.
  11. and the tories have been banging on about putting the uk first with brexit and covid.
  12. he could be a big part of the clubs future if he keeps level headed, focused and always determined to improve. i think the fact he wants to go out on loan signals his desire to learn further.
  13. spot on mate. at least hes taken the time to focus on his fitness, hope the op went well. time will tell.
  14. the start of more positive news rawlinson and cameron should make a great partnership at the back. having slocombe calmness behind looks very promising on paper.
  15. its a big game, pressure will be on both teams and i think whoever gets the edge of the game early on should come out on top.
  16. we need to stay grounded and focused, more importantly the nerves needs to be avoided because it got to us in the final last season. i think we just need to work a bit harder and tidy things up at the back.
  17. i thought i had commented on this on the way home, it felt like a true performance by notts and one which sent a message that we wanted to secure the playoffs. the hard work has not finished but what a fantastic team performance. i thought miller was class, he got stuck in and made a right nuisance of himself but i do think rodders made the biggest impact. hes keen to keeping his scoring going.
  18. it happens, sometimes you have to cut people a bit of slack. as obvious as it was, hes still by far one of the most hardworking players we have.
  19. good win, lifted some pressure off ian burchnall who appeared much calmer in his press conference. spoke well about the game and how we performed with just 10 men. i am not sure why some fans are berating dke for getting sent off. these things do happen unfortunately and he usually does much better.
  20. i can see a loss happening and then for more fans to kick off wanting burchnall out.
  21. god knows how the referee felt the extra time was fair, but i knew once it went past 5 minutes that they would pull level only to see the whistle blown for full time. dont quote this, as we should have buried the game well before this. the first 75 minutes we could and should have nailed them. i see no improvements though under the new manager when it comes to defending leads, it would not be as disappointing if it was not for the fact we needed the points. the win would have been a good thing for us, but the defending needs to be better.
  22. i think it will be close, possibly a 1-1 draw. tom crawford to play a blinder just because he can?
  23. notts fans are incredible with their support, i hope mg gets it. best wishes
  24. a game of two halfs football. thought we did much better in the second half, countered and looked stronger. by no means perfect but we started somewhat better than we did against wrexham. it just went to pieces with poor defending and giving the ball away. i have to add, knowles might not be a finished product but at his age who cares? i think he has a job to do on loan here, i have said it before. a player like him wont be scoring week in and out or playing overly well but with confidence he comes alive. unstopptable today and did very well.
