Connections game

You may (or may not) like this game, the idea is to connect words in a certain number of guesses. It can be frustrating because sometimes they throw in American things we don’t necessarily know.

Today was fairly easy I got them all with no mistakes.

Well you completed it so that’s good, some days it’s that hard/obscure that it’s almost impossible but good for the brain.

@Fan of Big Tone have you, by any chance, ever watched 'Only Connect' presented by Victoria Coren Mitchell on TV.There's a wall section like connections on there.Some answers are obscure and convoluted on there.

@super_ram yes I have, although the contestants are far too quick and get the answers while I’m still thinking about it.

The same with University Challenge, @Fan of Big Tone.I've no idea with a lot of the questions but it amazes me, sometimes, that the contestants are completely ignorant of questions that I consider very easy.It also amuses me on any quiz show how some contestants know all about reality and popular tv shows but don't know which county York is in.(I could have said Derby,Nottingham etc or even Norwich if I wanted to make it REALLY difficult)

I did the wordle and waffle games and started connections.I managed to get one set before our Tesco delivery came.After  @william1984 collected their part of the delivery and I 'd put mine away I made myself a cup of coffee and went back to my laptop while I warmed up again.Unfortunately I had to admit defeat @Fan of Big ToneI may have warmed up but my brain hadn't. I'll have another go tomorrow though,I don't like losing(Rams won though,so I'm happy)

I really struggle with this game.. and similar games.  My brain just doesn't do connections between words.  I've had a couple of goes, but I don't think I'm going to be too successful with this one.

I had a bash earlier and managed two rows .I ran out of attempts and when the answers were revealed I had to agree with you @Fan of Big Tone.Obscure in the extreme but I'll try again tomorrow.

Not bad today, only one wrong guess and completed it for a change.

I gave up completely yesterday,sneaky and obscure answers.....Reading upside down???? Very annoying.

Today I got the'Foremost' and'Show off' but had already wasted a couple of attempts by thinking the colours where Cluedo characters.I cottoned on to the 'letters' but then ran out of attempts.

I'm learning not to submit  answers until I'm certain and to check possibilities with remaining words before submitting.

It's a good workout for my aging brain ,so I'll keep on participating @Fan of Big Tone

@super_ram I got Foremost and Show Off first and I managed to get the flag one for the wrong reasons and of course the last one solves itself but I don’t think I’d have guessed it.

I made 3 wrong submissions and was at the point of giving up when I got a set and then it all fell into place.I think some connections are American and therefore very sneaky  @Fan of Big Tone Just made it to a 'Phew'
