Morning all, I hope we are all well and ready to start the new week. I’m suffering with my eyes at the moment so looking at screens is difficult, the optician has referred me to the doctor for blood tests and to an ophthalmic consultant I’m waiting for an appointment. I did however manage to watch the World Cup final last night, I was glad that Spain won the Argies are cheats and very sore losers as was witnessed after the final whistle. The majority of the game was very boring though, unlike the England v France game.

What a game it was England 4-0 up at half time, second half France came out all guns blazing and pulled it back to 4-3, then Saka scored a pen to make it 5-3 but France still wouldn’t lie down they scored again making it 5-4 before Bellingham sealed the win 6-4. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more exciting match. The nerves were certainly jangling in the second half.

The game finished 2-0 to the enemy but I thought Notts did alright and showed some good moves the nearest we got to a goal was a shot from Iwunze (I think) which was deflected just wide. I’d be interested to hear the thoughts of those who attended.

I’m watching the stream of this game, it’s 1-0 to Forest at half time, Forest are fielding a very strong team with most of their big names playing, I guess they’ll have a huge influx of different players in the second half. Forest goal was from a quick taken thrown in which went to Gibbs white who passed to Jesus, he found himself one on one with Belshaw and calmly slotted it past him to score. Notts are playing well although I don’t know a lot of the new players and there are no names on the shirts, Jones and Jatta aren’t playing which is worrying considering some of the rumours flying round. Robert’s looks dangerous going forward, Notts aren’t being outplayed by any means.

Good morning everyone, it’s Saturday so park run day, except for me there will be no park run. I have been advised not to run because I have a small bleed on the back of my eye and high impact running could make it worse. I could of course do a park walk but it’s a 20 minute drive to do a walk which I could do from here, so that’s what I’ll do, I’ll do my 5k brisk walk from home. Later I’ll be keeping an eye (my good eye) on the Notts v F*rest game via Twitter as I’m not going to be there. P.S. nice to see @liampie posting again.

Yeah very disappointing end after being so close to a final and who know what would have happened if we’d got through!to play Spain. In hindsight the ploy of parking the bus was a mistake but it worked in previous rounds and Tuchel was hailed for the tactics, however I think it was short sighted to think it would work against the Argentinians. I wish the Falklands thing could be put to bed a lot of the fans that bang on about it weren’t even alive, I remember it and it was horrific so many died on both sides war doesn’t solve anything. I wouldn’t want to forget the poor folk who died on both sides but it should be kept out of football and the players who paraded that banner should be punished by FIFA. It was out of order. I was only 14 when we won the World Cup and I wonder if we’ll ever win it again in my lifetime.

I quite like that, what do others think?
