  1. On Saturday Notts take on Oldham Athletic at Meadow Lane. How many links can we find between the two clubs? Owners, managers, players etc. I’ll start with Craig Dudley who played for Notts between 1996 and 1999 making 31 appearances and scoring 3 goals. After a few loan moves he signed for Oldham in 1999 and stayed until 2002, making 60 appearances and scoring 10 goals. How many more links can we find?
  2. It was a good win for Notts although aided by the sending off but nevertheless there were some good performances. Luker, Hall, Bennett’s and Tsaroulla all did well and it was good to see Jarvis back, he was unlucky not to have scored a goal he had at least two good efforts. Let’s follow it up with a win against Oldham.

  7. My advice would be to think very carefully what you want to do, whether it’s further education or going straight into the workplace, it’s a decision that could affect your whole future. I know it’s tempting to go into work and start earning money but personally I think further education is very important, you can’t have too many qualifications and in the long run it will pay off. However it’s a decision only you can make, good luck in whatever you choose.
  8. @Chris did you mean NOT booed? I certainly wouldn’t boo him, he treated us to some great goals during his time at Notts.

  13. I would imagine some fringe players will get a run out for this match, I wonder if Didzy will feature for Barnsley?
  14. Good morning, it’s a new week and the weather looks as if it’s going to be another fine bright day. It was lovely yesterday I did some clearing up in the garden and got quite a sweat on, enough to warrant a cold beer sitting in the sunshine when I’d done. How is everyone, what are you all up to? Is there anything you want to get off your chest? Come and have a chat.
  15. I didn’t see the game or hear the commentary because I was out but reading comments here and elsewhere it sounds as if Notts were unlucky so I don’t think we should be too downhearted, it’s football sometimes you just don’t get the rub of the green or the decisions go against you when another match they might go for you. Onwards and upwards (hopefully).
  16. Strands #574 “Hit the deck!” 🟡🔵🔵🔵 🔵🔵🔵🔵 I worked out the theme and then had to memorise where all the answers were so I could find the spanagram, a good brain exercise.

  20. Good morning, it’s a bit damp here after overnight rain. We had a lovely afternoon yesterday watching the play Dear England, it was very good all about Gareth Southgate’s reign as England football manager but goodness me there was a lot of swearing, I guess it was true to life within football but we felt a bit uncomfortable. Our grandchildren are teenagers now and have heard all those words but I felt sorry for anyone taking young children. However it was a good play. Afterwards we went to an Indian Restaurant Tamatanga which was very busy but the food was good. We haven’t been to Nottingham City centre for ages and certainly not at night, I wouldn’t necessarily want to go again it was so busy with mainly youngsters having a night out, not really our scene these days, we were glad to get home to the sanctuary of our quiet bungalow. Having been out all day I missed all the football news, shame Notts couldn’t hold on to a point at least.

  24. @theAnticlough he started losing weight in the middle of May and in 5 weeks lost two and a half stone and because he’d demonstrated he could lose weight by himself the doctor put him on the NHS diet plan in July and by just having four of the special milk shakes a day he’s lost another 3 stone so five and a half in total since May, so your right it’s actually been four months.
