Would I Lie To You?

No this topic isn't about the Popular T.V. Show. But has come about on another platform I'm on., (I am Not the Originator of this Idea) and as proven very popular with other members. How it works is you write down Five Facts about yourself, four of which are True and One which is False. Other members have to guess which one is false. Hopefully PON Members will take to the Idea and write down their Five Facts, while guessing which one of my Facts is a Lie, Only one Guess Please. After a couple of Days the Commentor reveals the Correct Answer. Here's My Five Facts :

1) I Was Once Looked After By Brian Clough.

2) I Was Once Mistaken For Entertainer Richard Stillgo.

3) I Once Made Ken Dodd Laugh.

4) I Broke My School Long Jump Record Twice In The Same Meeting, But Shouldn't Have Been In The Event.

5) World Speedway Champion Barry Briggs Once Stood On My Foot. He Apologized Then Stood On My Other Foot.

So There You Have It. Don't Be Shy Have A Go Write Your Guess Down, Then Your Five Facts For Other Members To Guess.

I'm going to guess that the correct answer is number 3, that you made Ken Dodd laugh.

Here are my five facts.

  1. I went to school with Mark Draper when he lived in Long Eaton.

  2. I was once on the youth team books at Notts.

  3. Jimmy Sirrel once came to my school and read the children's book "Gorilla" by Anthony Browne.

  4. I once painted and decorated Phil Turner's house for free after losing a bet.

  5. The most famous footballer I have ever met was Alan Shearer.

@Wheelbarrow repair man: I think the correct story is that you were mistaken for Richard Stilgoe.

@NottsCountyKev, carefully looking at the options, I think meeting Alan Shearer is more likely than the others.

My five facts:

1) I once entered a pancake-making contest at a 5-star restaurant that I worked at and beat qualified chefs with my mix.
2) When my school was closing down, I did an interview for ITV Central News where I said that the school needed saving.
3) I took a penalty kick in the 90s at a home game and scored against Notts' reserve keeper.
4) My school selected me to take part in a local football competition at Harvey Hadden, where I was the top scorer for the team.
5) Two ex-Forest players once tried to talk me into signing a contract with their youth team after I was scouted at a school game.

A field where dreams become reality.

@Wheelbarrow repair man

I think that your point four is false.

@NottsCountyKev

I think your point four is false.

@Chris

I think your point 5 is false.

1) When I was thirteen years old I used to go potato picking at the local farm earning Ten shillings a day.

2) When I was fourteen I bicycled to Skegness with four mates & we camped there over the weekend during the summer holidays.

3) When I was eleven years old I passed an entrance exam to go to a Private School in West Bridgford.

4) One of the many cars that I have owned was a bright red 1973 Triumph Spitfire in 1975.

5) When I was 12 years old my mate & I had our Bicycles stolen from outside Highfields Lido while we were swimming. The Police brought us home thankfully.

Proud to be a supporter for 58 years & counting of the oldest professional football club in the World. COYP

@Robbie, I reckon the fourth one is your lie. It just seems the least likely out of the bunch.

Now we just need to wait for WRM to share his. I’m curious to see what he comes up with. This is quite fun. I enjoy seeing what people choose and trying to guess which one isn’t true. It’s a good way to learn more about each other.
