Walkie Talkie's Used By Officials

What's the point of them having them, whenever there is a contentious decision to be made, the ref goes over to the linesman to have a talk. S

O to me having them is pointless.

Well, I thought it was to allow the ref to communicate with the fourth official. I can't recall seeing assistance having them (in calls me to refer to them as anything more than linesman) but I think face to face in some cases is the right thing.

Yet very few above League One seem to communicate via their hand free devices.

Little did we know, most are running around listening to music! LOL

I thought I'd replied to this but it's disappeared into the ether, perhaps I didn't click submit.

Anyway, I thought it was more for if the ref missed the linesman flagging, so that the linesman could shout down his microphone 'OY, ARE YOU BLIND REF, THAT WAS OFFSIDE"
