Collin 5 - Still undecided about him. Thought he could have gone down better to try to save 2nd. Doesnt release ball early enough to start attacks
Tootle 5 - OK but was unimpressed
Duffy 5  OKl
Laing 5 - Started very poorly but improved
Dickinson 5  good shift
O'Conner 3 -  expected so much better.Yes shocking penalty
Rodman 5 - Poor first half, and not a great crosser of the ball
Aborah 4 - A Ray Wilkins in disguise. Too many square passes but O'Connor didnt help him. Dreadful mistake for their 2nd
Forte 6 - Forgettable first half but much improved in second
Stead 5 - Not at the races, wasted good chance in first half
Campbell 4 - Headless chicken syndrome again

Subs:
Audel 5 - better going forward with obligatory defensive lapse
Oliver 6.5  - Legs and flick ons. What Stead was lacking
Collins 6.5 - Pace positioning shooting and understanding, everything Campbell strives for but lacks

Collin 6 - No difficult saves to make, but commanded his area a bit better today.
Tootle 5.5 - Looked more at home in midfield, not sure about him at right back.
Duffy 5 - Allowed himself to be bullied by a good opposition front two.
Laing 5.5 - Bogle had him all over the place first half, at least stuck to his task.
Dickinson 6 - Probably the pick of the back four without looking particularly good.
O'Connor 5 - Disappointing. Never imposed himself on the game as I hoped he would.
Rodman 5 - The odd promising burst, but anonymous most of the game.
Aborah 5.5 - Looked our best hope to create something first half, but is just too easy to play against.
Forte 5 - A waste of a shirt until his goal, a bit better afterwards.
Stead 5 - Poor touch and struggled against their centre backs.
Campbell 5 - The Campbell from so many games - lots of running, minimal impact.

Subs:
Audel 6.5 - Got forward well, a better option than Tootle at right back.
Oliver 7 - On the face of it he did nothing special, but when he came on the Grimsby centre backs went from coasting to struggling. Put himself about well and changed the game.
Collins 6.5 - Looked pacy and kept his head for a cool finish for the equaliser. Could be useful.

A very difficult game to summarise - we were a distinct second best for 75% of it, and rampant for 15% of it. The other 10% was stalemate. At least Sheridan gambled and got it right with the triple substitution, suddenly a moderate Grimsby defence who had had an easy afternoon struggled mainly due to the physical threat from Oliver. It may have been mainly route one stuff but it was effective. We still have this infuriating habit of gifting goals, if you think back for all Grimsby's dominance, Collin didn't have a serious save to make. Unless we can eradicate this we will be mid table at best.

What right do you have to tell me I'm wrong?  You're not my Granddaughter.

Another look at the Aborah back pass...had Collin gone down at Bogle's feet, the shot would have been blocked. Poor marking by Stead for Grimsby's opener. Reminder of set piece woes from previous seasons

Collin still wouldn't have got there, he would have had to reposition himself to dive at his feet and the ball would most likely have still gone under him. I can't lay any blame at Collin for that one.
The first goal was terrible marking by Stead, who also blocked himself against their attacker letting the centre half go, Dickinson also could have done better on the line.

@Fozzy Had we had Manuel Neuer in goal, that back pass would have been cleared :D I beg to differ on your view on Collin, he should have spread himself for the block. By just standing up, it made it too easy for Bogle

He still would have been "megged".
