Collin 6.5 – mainly routine saves, but commanded his area well.

Tootle 6.5 – still our best option at right back, did well.

Duffy 6 – done for pace once or twice, but generally defended well.

Hollis 7 – won nearly every challenge, cleared his lines, unlucky for the OG.

Bola 6.5 – put under pressure in the first half, but some excellent forward play.

Grant 7* - an assist and a stunning goal, gives us the creativity and goal threat we need in midfield.

Hewitt 6.5 – got stuck in and helped us just about win the midfield battle.

Milsom 6.5 – competed well, gives us shape and stability in central midfield.

Yeates 6 – stuck to his task and was generally ok.

Forte 6 – kept their defence busy but not much goal threat.

Ameobi 6.5 – has become a key player, scares defenders a bit and good to see him score after his poor penalty.

Campbell (T) 5.5 – didn’t do a lot when he came on.

Smith n/a

Campbell (A) n/a

Another good, solid team performance which just about deserved the 3 points.  No-one was brilliant, but no-one was poor.  Great to see a big crowd (including a good following from Hartlepool) there to see the win.  Hopefully a big step towards safety, nice to see the 8 point gap restored.

Based on a mean of 5

Collin 4 – Still a mistake waiting to happen. Escaped a potential howler in the first half. Only positive was he was assured in final minutes to help close out the game
Tootle 7 – Joint MotM ...didnt put a foot wrong and protected his side very well.
Duffy 4.5  – In analysis, his headers are too soft, just landing outside the "D". A better team would have capitalised on this.
Hollis 5 – Marked down for one horrendous pass when under no pressure, which directly led to Hartlepools swift counter attack to their goal
Bola 6.5 – Links so well down his side, pushes up on their defence which helps null their ability to build attacks when pushed so far back. A breath of fresh air. Can he stay for next season please
Grant 7* - A great weighted pass to Shola and a thuming strike. A long awaited goal scoring midfielder since the days of Noble. Still drifts in and out of the game but does have that quality shot, so missing from Notts midfield this season
Hewitt 6.5 – Not one of my favourite players but today, his energy and willingness to close down helped win the midfield battle.
Milsom 5.5 – Protected the central defence. A cool head but let down by his use of dead balls and stray passing.
Yeates 5.5 – An outlet to keep possession. Its a pity he lacks the pace of his Bradford days to cause real havoc.
Forte 6 – One wonderful ball swung in at the end of the first half. Used ball well without being a goal scoring threat
Ameobi 6 – Well taken goal but what a poor penalty. Expected a pedigree to hit the penalty hard, too soft and so near the keeper, an easy save

Campbell (T) 4.5 – has pace to burn but in reality, he hasnt got a shot on him. Disappointing
Smith 3.... special mention for a horrendous slice. Should not be on the pitch, could have cost us dearly
Campbell (A) not enough time to offer mark

A team performance, won on territory and effectiveness.  An important 3 points

Peaks and troughs always tend to be roughly in line with @Elite_pie except, in this case, for the keeper. Escaped from a major howler in the first half which could of cost us. Perhaps Elite needs to go to Specsavers :D ..buy one get one Stanley free   :D

I think Adam Collin has been pretty good since he replaced Loach, and looked steady again yesterday.  He claimed a few dangerous looking corners and though his kicking was a bit iffy in the first half, it improved in the second.  A few were urging him to get rid of the ball a bit quicker yesterday, but I didn't see the point as Ameobi was usually the only player up front to aim at.

I see Stanley is setting the league alight with Pompey - he's only made the bench once and hasn't played a single minute for them yet!
