Player ratings v Portsmouth

Collin - 7 - generally good, one cracking save second half, maybe a bit slow to react to their second.
Tootle - 5.5 - not sure whether he was poor or left exposed, but all of their threat (and goals) came down our right.
Hollis - 6 - fairly solid against a potent attack.
Duffy - 5 - loses a mark for gifting them the penalty. Not one of his better games.
Bola - 6.5 - didn't get the chance to get forward too often, but pretty sound defensively.
Hewitt - 6.5 - competed well, better in the wide role than moving more central to replace O'Connor.
O'Connor - 5.5 - needs to use his brain a bit more. I love his competitive attitude, but there are limits.
Campbell 6.5 - tracked back well, goal saving tackle early on, needs to do more in a creative sense.
Milsom - 6 - stuck at it, but struggled to maintain his recent standard.
Grant - 7* - our only real attacking threat. Another class finish for his goal.
Stead - 5.5 - tried hard, but his touch was mostly poor and needed Ameobi to take the pressure off.

Subs :

Yeates - 6 - got into a few good wide positions but didn't have a lot to aim at.
T. Campbell - 5 - ineffective.

KN - 6 - I think we started with a formation that was far too negative and handed them the initiative. The tactical changes at half time improved things and opened the game up a bit. Good summary of things after the game in his interview with Colin, it's a refreshing change to have a manager who watched the same game I did.

Collin - 5.5 - At least produced some very good saves but thought he could have done better with their second IMHO, despite some reports saying it was deflected? Distribution remains woeful at best, chances to throw out and build attacks just utterly squandered. Yes, a new keeper is essential for next season.

Tootle - 4.5  - Kyle Bennett, always impressive for Pompey and gave Tootle the run around. Having said that, at least Hewitt  wasn't a full back when Bennett completely destroyed him at Portsmouth last season.

Duffy - 4 - Despite improvement under Nolan, the decision to dive in and give away an unnecessary penalty,  was ludicrous. Unprofessional, not to put too finer point on it, when there was cover.

Hollis - 4.5 - Time to reflect on Sheridan's days that this central  defence is not a long term answer. Distribution as poor as it can be.

Bola - 6 - A quiet game but defensively held up his side of the pitch well. All our problems were down Tootle's side. Got booked for rightly questioning the linesman on an unbelievable offside for Pompey's third

Hewitt - 5 Putting in a shift maybe and setting up the goal. Downside, he didn't stand up to take responsibility especially in the second half, it's  not good enough to just run around but not be effective as putting in challenges.

O'Connor - 4.5 - Wasn't at the races. Pompey's midfield totally dominated ours. Maybe injury, will see his season finished?

Milsom - 5.5- Improved during the game after a slow start.

A Campbell - 4 - One great interception that saved a goal. Despite his efforts in running, consistently loses possession. Nolan will reflect that he is not a long term answer.

Grant - 7 - If only if we can sign him for next season. Needs to get involved more during games like this. Quality finish from him.

Stead - 5 - Missed Shola big time to work alongside. No real chances, but that was down to the ineffectiveness of our midfield

Subs

Yeates - 5.5 Offers an outlet to try to control possession
T Campbell - 3  Maybe still being kind with that mark. Never was involved. A waste of space. If he is ahead of Forte, tells you all you need to know about Forte's future involvement.

If they want Adam Campbell, that's good news😀 Elliot Hewitt...Likes a tackle!????? Need to go to Specsavers then

@Piethagoram is bang on for me, I couldn't suggest any different rating.

I think Collin was quite poor, he just looked lost at times but as did others. Campbell played better than he did against Colchester, it was nice to see him make effort from the off but Yeates added something different - despite it not working. Overall it was an okay team performance, Portsmouth just never let us have time really.
