Battle of the Dons

So Milton Keynes 'Dons' host AFC Wimbledon in round 2 of the FA Cup. Not surprisingly it'll be shown live on ITV1. Quite a few AFC Wimbledon supporters are not planning on travelling to MK because they dont want to give money to MK. I can also see where they're coming from when they say looking at fans in mk colours would just be too much,

Could be a fiesty affair! Vinny Jones to come out of retirment for one match? ;D

James

That would be some game to see Vinnie Jones return, if only. That said I can't see him getting away with how he played in todays game, he'd probably be sent off quicker than he has before and then chase after the referee in similar style to what Di Canio did to the referee he had a 'disagreement' with. Back to the actual subject, I'm with AFC Wombles all the way. They've been after this game since they formed, so it's time for them to rally around but I wouldn't think the crowd would suffer too much because other fans will go.

Will be interesting game!

I missed the other FA Cup game on ITV, Braintree? :( Managed them on my Football Manager 2012 game. Did well with them too :P

Yeah I think some fans are thrilled with it more but of them dont want to play MK Dons. As you say, I'm sure a lot of neutrals will go. Anyone with the faintest idea about football will be behind AFC Wimbledon (apart from mk fans of course)

James

Exactly James.

I really hope we don't attract any MK Don fans here, though I find them to be mainly deluded and pretty annoying. (more so than our local rivals) I really hope AFC Wombles win and continue their progress through the leagues. They're a side I would be more than happy to see return to the former glory they knew, where-as MK Dons should be booted to the sunday park league.

You watching England tonight buddy?

Neil Sullivan has rejoined them on loan that will make it a bit more interesting. It does have all you need for a feisty match, I see AFC taking the game. If the fans do get behind them it could be quite rewarding too and not just for the chance to beat them. Cup money?

It's a tough one, survival in the league is probably the most important thing to them but I am glad to of read that fans do plan to turn up. It's one of them clashes which will bring excitement to the cup, which I personally prefer the rounds where the under-dogs are chasing for the cup. None of the big teams seem to take it as seriously as they should or once did.

With the fair play rules, I'm sure many teams will be seeing this as a good chance to help next years budget(s).
