Great servant for Notts, a talent that shined during his spells with us. He started his career with us, which would have seen him being aligned with one of our best strike forces. My grandfather used to say he was one of the best headers of the ball, but was just as skilful with his feet. Unfortunately, he's another connected with potential head injuries considered to be increased due to him heading the ball. He suffered from Alzheimer's disease in his later years, such a saddening end to such a brilliant person. An authentic legend of Notts County!

I have great admiration for Connell Rawlinson. His decision to work with Notts and to mutually agree on his release I believe allowed this to happen. I'm not sure that he would have been Chester bound otherwise. I really hope he can settle down, get himself on the team sheet and help Chester move forward. It's a great opportunity for him.

I haven't seen any clips of the damage its causing, I am mindful that I can be sensitive to this sort of thing. It's horrible, I know people are suffering, and I hope once it has ended the world can rally to support the victims so that they have the aid to get back on with their lives. If you see images, it's sometimes difficult to remove them from your end - it's horrible to see people suffering. My thoughts and well wishes go out to everyone in the path of Hurricane Beryl.

Those scenes are well worth it; I am pleased and thankful not to see another club fold. Vitesse have some very passionate fans, and it's difficult to see any supporter bases like them struggle.

The Gordon Banks save is my favourite moment in goalkeeping turns; it's something I have seen probably a million times. Peter Shilton also had great reflexions, in addition to David Seaman. So it's something I appreciate. I don't think the camera angel gives the Turkish keeper credit, I would love to see it straight on or from the angle of the save itself. No doubt, it's a brilliant save to pull off. @super_ram: What was the keeper who had a nickname featuring a cat called? I think he was around Banks era or before.

I am seeing complaints that the game is being scheduled around Sky, instead of the fans, but to be fair, it's only 15 minutes later than it normally would have been. It could be like 8:30pm or later, which would be worse. 7:45pm for night games gives fans who work chance to go, it leaves some with time to go home and freshen up - with others just managing to make it straight from work. So, I am not bothered that it's 15 minutes later. It's good that we do have this early payday from Sky. Hopefully, we will have a strong performance because that's the main thing.

I've seen the footage and pictures, it's a very sly and quick gesture. I don't think Jude Bellingham should have made the gesture, but it's being blown out of proportion. Slovakia seem to be bitter about losing, their manager has made some nonsensical comments since the game. Such as being frustrated that Declan Rice was speaking to the referee and wouldn't let him interrupt. I'm not convinced that justifies him starting a confrontation and nearly causing a brawl. Back to Bellingham, I believe he means his apology and that should count towards something. If it's meaningful and something people learn from, which I am sure he will - then a ban just seems a very severe punishment for something that could be handled better. I thought he came with a fair amount of promise, he's one of those we signed too early in their careers. Well, in this case it was loaned too early. He's someone under our current owners, we might have signed once his loan deal had expired or near the end of it. Sam Stubbs has come quite far since his time here; I don't recall him being much of a stand-out player, but you could see he had potential. Fingers crossed, we can get the quality out of Lewis Macari this upcoming season.

It happens at rock gigs too; it's something which peeves me off. Although, I do find it more acceptable at a football game as you are responding to something and celebrating - not just being an idiot in an attempt to soak someone. I think when people first did it, it was far more natural. Whereas these days, people seem to put a lot of effort into looking good whilst doing it. Just like how average goalkeepers make stunning saves solely for the cameras. ????

I assume the first day back is all about checks and measuring where the players are, maybe some light gym work. Possibly some jog exercises and nothing that would shock them too much, even though they will be in shape - I can imagine there's a lot of recording of dietary and health stats. By now, I would assume they have kicked the ball around and tried to emerge the new signings. The first day back can be very exciting, with the club sharing pictures - I am pleased they all looked very determined and happy. Just wait until the actual training starts and you start doing laps at Meadow Lane.

Saka was originally a left wing in Arsenal's academy, mate. https://www.arsenal.com/news/long-read-rise-and-rise-bukayo-saka I know he's said that it isn't his natural position, but it never seemed to bother him dropping to left back when needed. Defensively, he's not the best, but he offers much more than Trippier currently does. If Shaw is ready to come in, he would be the ideal solution but the reason why Saka is playing down the role is he prefers attacking football. He doesn't want to play in the position, he's made comments about it when Arsenal had reverted him to covering.

Georgia's opening goal, it was a lovely counter-attack. I felt sorry for them, as one of Spain's goals could have been disallowed. I personally wouldn't, but there have been other goals similar that have been due to a player being offside. Whilst I don't think the Spanish player was distracting the keeper, he was close and other times players weren't. As for England, they'll have a difficult time against Switzerland but if we can improve. At least we can show Scotland how it's done, if anything we need to perform better than they did.

The red sponsor doesn't really bother me; I think being white or black wouldn't look right. Red is their colour, they invest in our club, and it holds no connection to our neighbours. I get why some would wish it was different, for me, it doesn't bother me at all. When I first looked at the shirt, I wasn't so sure, but I do like it quite a bit. The Notts badge appears to be a lot bigger than normally, I mean prior seasons under Puma it was tiny, but this looks like it's jumped a few sizes. That's the only thing I am not sure about, but I wasn't keen on it being small. It's our badge, I have to accept it. I'm sure in person it will grow on me.

A quick smirk, followed by efforts to hide his laughter, followed by 'do you really think I needed to know that'. ???????????????? I then explained, only for him to ignore him. PS. I have a new tool in my arsenal now for when he's banging on about something.

@Fozzy I thought Saka did alright whilst he temporarily moved to the left, I haven't been convinced by Trippier during the competition. I would like to see more of palmer, so making this change might bring a bit of needed change. I know the commentary team mentioned Saka wouldn't be happy playing in the position, but he needs to do what's right for the team. He's been easily replaceable during this tournament. If I were the manager, I wouldn't have started him after the first game. I would have dropped him against Denmakr and maybe brought him back into the fold to see if it changes. Trippier has done well on the left side before, but not enough in these games. He doesn't have the pace either; he's a different player on the right. Having spoken to some Newcastle fans, they have said he's been largely poor all season for them. There are certain players who just don't warrant starting, Trippier and Saka are two of these players for me. Replacing Trippier with Saka could secure Saka's spot in the starting line-up.

I think Slovakia's performance will be overlooked by the negativity that surrounds England, it's been a much better performance. The goal was a major lapse in judgement and alertness, but our opposition has shown they are a good team. England are approaching the dying embers of the game and should have done more to get back on level terms. A moment just past, where Harry Kane wasn't quite able to get the direction on the ball from a free kick. It's going to be heartache at this stage, I never say never or give up easily. I haven't, as there's still time, but Slovakia are putting up a good fight to protect a lead they worked so hard to take.
